It was a cold day, unusual for Phoenix, Arizona, especialy at this time of year. The streets were virtualy deserted, again unusal especialy at this time of day. One man, a drunken and deranged hobo was stumbling in and out of the streets, muttering something under his breath. A yellow cab swerved to avoid hitting the man, and then continued on its way, exceeding the speed limit by some 50 miles per hour. What was happening this cold, dark, foreboding day, in the heart of The Phoenix Milita......

Maximus Seville was never a fair man, this much is common knowlege.
Power corrupts; Absolute power corrupts absolutely.
There was never man who was more faithful to those words than Maximus Seville I, the supreme leader of Tyrador, and Field Marshall of The Phoenix Milita. He ruled with an Iron fist, and lead both nations in numerous military victories.
In his last days, Seville slipped into a psychotic rage, hell bent on global domination, he brought the world to the brink of armageddon and nearly destroyed a good chunk of the planet. He was murdered by his son Maximus Seville II, after he detonated a 156 megaton nuclear weapon in a Phoenix Milita mountian complex, in the heart of the black hills, Montana, destroying the combined military forces of Tyrador, The Phoenix Milita, Antarctica123, The JSA, The American Alliance, AIan and others. I might add that listed countries were all united to conquer the world under Sevilles guidance. They signed thier death warrant by trusting in Maximus Seville I's false claims of guaranteed air and naval superiorty, obtainment of critical intel and the discovery of major weaknesses in the world's alliances.
Those in Tyrador and The Phoenix Milita who refuse to accept the full story of these events, believe the son to be nothing more than a heartless bastard murder, who assasianted the world's greatest military and politcal leader for power.
Slowly, these individuals who refused to accept Maximus Seville II's new power gained more and more seats in local government, and the federal senate. After the most recent election, the new leader of Tyrador revealed his true feelings on the death of the Field Marshall and the destruction of the vast armies in Montanna. He wants the head of Seville II on a platter, and he is willing to give all he's got to get it. Many members of the military already felt the same way, but kept it secret...

Today Tyrador and The Phoenix Milita, shall lock sabres in battle once again..... this time, they're playing for keeps.

It was about 5pm local time when the air-raid sirens went off. There was some confusion, but the residents of downtown Phoenix, AZ had practiced this dozens fo times. An orderly but fast evacuation of major buildings and the streets was implemented, the many bomb and fallout shelters were soon filled with millions of people, watching their televison sets, watching and waiting.....

The first rumbles from the AAA batteries could be heard throughout the city by 5:30pm. In the hazy sky, flashes from tracers could be seen dancing in sky. **Whoosh Whoosh Whoosh** The drone of the SAM launchers firing was nearly loud enough to shatter glass.
Seconds later, the huddled masses in the subways and bomb shelters felt the earth shake like never before and heard deafening explosions rock the surface.... **GAS GAS GAS**

The audio and visual alert repeated 3 times, then, all monitors switched off just as another earth shaking explosion could be heard above. All power was cut, it was pitch dark. After a few horrifying moments, the emergency generators switched on, an erie blue glow filled the cavernous bomb shelters.....people were huddled with thier familes, praying they would be safe, and trying to keep warm. The televisions switched back on...it was the emergency broadcast system, beeeeeeep beeeep... then the familiar face of Georgie Peterson came on camera. She was looking worried but she began to deliver her news in a proffesional and calm manner.

"Breaking News! The Phoenix Milita has been attacked by the Armed Republic of Tyrador, both governements declined to comment....... what's that Tom? Oh ok, We have a live feed coming in from downtown Phoenix."

"Well sir, we've already lost 11 B-2's and B-52's to enemy scorpion fighters, and another dozen or so of each to the city air defenses of Phoenix.
More bad news sir, pressure sensors detected tanks crossing the border just 20 minutes ago, big ones 70-80 tons at least, and quite a few of them at that.
Oh look at this, a traffic camera in downtown Gackall(a border town) transmittied this image seconds before it was apparently knocked over."

Only an hour after the first attacks on The Phoenix Milita, rapid response units were deployed, launching several ALCMs, and 100s of short range ballistic missiles, chemical warheads were not used, however high explosive, cluster and EMP bombs were.

The entire Atlantic Command {ATCCOM} [4th Fleet], [6th Fleet], [7th Fleet] and Pacific Command {PACCOM}'s [2nd Fleet] has linked up on the East side of the Panama Canal and is moving toward New York City. F-3 Hellcats and A-4X Skyhawks are preforming hit and run raids up and down the eastern seaboard as the combined armada moves at a swift 35 knots.

Tyradorian Forces are in complete shock and are executing hasty retreats from major cities. Defenses are in disarray, we did not expect such a powerful and swift response. The suspicions that there was indeed a security leak are growing..... 5,000 PRN-1 Bombers and 1,500 F-6 Freedom Fighter, our entire 1st Homeland Defense Air Wing has been sent on a suicide mission. Objective: TPM Aircraft Carriers, Battleships and Amphibous Landing ships. Joing the HD Air Wing will be 100 A-4X Skyhawks 100 F-117A and 80 F/A-117X escorted by F-31X and F-38 fighters.
120 Seawolf Submarines, some with dual manta mini attack subs, are lurking offshore, waiting still and silent in the depths for the enemy fleet to arrive, we will cooridiate the sub attacks with the aieral bombardment...|
We have deployed our full range of non-nucler ICBMs, IRBMs and SLBMs. Hopefully the emp, cluster bomblets, high explosive and bunker busting warheads have devastated TPM's infastructure.

The attacks were easily sustained, with only minor losses. The PRN-1s were cut to pieces by AAA guns, we didn't bother to waste missiles on them. The F-6 fighters downed nearly 20 FU-29Ks and caused minor damage as they crashed into our carriers, moments before ejecting. We took a total of 3,450 or so prisoners from the first wave of "suicide" attacks. It seems your men are not very good at commiting suicide.....
The second wave of attacks was more accurate and deadly. 12 F-3 hellcats 49 Super Hornets and 2 E-1s were downed.
A small number of ancilary and support vessels as well as 1 destroyer and 2 cruisers were sunk. An Iowa Class battleship was disabled, and is returning to port. Submarine attacks that followed were the most deadly.... The Ultra Class Carrier, PHX Intrepid was lost with nearly all hands, sinking only 4 minutes after it was hit with over 70 torpedos, cruise missiles and harpoon missiles.
We also lost an arsenal ship, 3 Arleigh Burke Class Destroyers, 1 Cyclone Class Patrol Boat, and 2 Lancer Class Destroyer-Dreadnaughts, thankfully those crews were mostly saved by the other ships. 12 of our seasquid subs were disabled or destroyed also, but we belive our sub forces, combined with ASROC and depth charges from the surface fleet and aircraft, destroyed the bulk of the enemy forces off the coast of New Jersey.
We prepare to strike NYC with our full remaining carrier air wing. Saturation bombing via battleship main guns, cruise missiles and B-69 Bombers has been stepped up. Tyrador will soon meet a firey demise by the wrath of the Phoenix!!!

We have dispatched our most respected Fighter Ace, Major General Eddie O'Neil, flying the only known working F-2 Talon prototype. He is escorted by nearly all of our fighter force, including all remaing F-15D, F-18F, F-22C, F-23B, FU-29K F-31X, F-35A and F-38 fighters. We also have dedicated a significant amount of F-27 Fighters to the air defense of New York City.

At 7pm eastern, a force of nearly 3,480 fighter and attack aircraft based off our carriers assaulted manhattan island. Seconds before the stirke force arrived, a mix of 98 tomahawk, hatchet and the new battle axe cruise missiles, all fitted with EMP-FCG warheadsm slammed the city, no doubt disabling the air defenses of Tyrador.
We intercepted a force of 14 F-27 Hastes, 80 F-31Xs 2 FU-29Ks and 1 F-2 Talon over the beaches of long island.
We believe we have killed the famous Eddie O'Neil, as one of the fighters a rare F-2 prototype, which was painted in his custom green and blue camo scheme, was destroyed by an AIM-9X Sidewinder and 20mm cannon fire from a pair of F-3 Hellcats. An Image from an E-1 aircraft captured this scene:

As you can see we believe the pilot ejected, but as all aircraft were flying in excess of Mach 2, General O'Neil was undoubtedly killed in the ejection. It should be noted he fought with honor, single handedly destroying over 12 of our FU-29Ks and F-3 Hellcats, and assisting in the destrution of 4 other of our aircraft.

No doubt we have dealt the first strike of a death blow against Tyrador

As the Norad, Wasp and Wasp II class ships, as well as other ships off load thier forces on the mostly undefended beaches of New Jersey and Long Island, a massive bombing campaign is now underway, utilize ALL of our strategic air power, including all 200 of our B-69 Skymaster bombers. The bombing runs are being conducted on every major city and military installation. This is Shock And Awe™ times ten

Meanwhile, in Gackall just inside the border of Tyrador, TPM forcesare just begining to set up defensive postions inside the recently captured town. Although not strategicly important, a large portion of our armor is in and around Gackall at this time, and it would be foolish for Tyrador not to attempt a counter attack. M102 Artilery Cannons are being brought in by the dozen via a strange new helicopter which has been seen recently in the operations area.

Hours after what can only be described as the largest bombing campaign in the history of modern warfare, several of the cities which were bombed, have engaged in open revolt against the police and Tyradorian Armies. Already 5 cities have been lost to these rebels, this combined with the recent loss of Gackall and Atlantic City to TPM forces and the loss of Detroit to Communist-Canada* in another war which is still ongoing), has left some of the Tyradorian Army disgruntled and 12 entire units, ranging in size from platoons to whole battlations have deserted, with all of thier equipement. We can only assume they are joinning the rebels. Luckily we are getting reports that the rebels are fighting against Tyradorian, Communist-Canadian and TPM forces, with no regards to collateral damage. We beleive they will be put down within a few days, we will then be able to focus on the other fronts.

An estimated 50 or so various TPM bombers have been shotdown or disabled. No exact figures avaialbe

All cruise missile carrying ships of Task Force 23 , including 4 Arsenal class ships and 6 Volcano Class cruisers, unleashed nearly 1,000 cruise missiles on the sub-capital of Washington, D.C., as more ships [from task force 23 ] moved up the coast to join with the rest of the fleet to the north.

Casualites are expected to at least be in the tens of thousands. Targeting was indscriminate due to the high density of military instalations in the city.



54 B-1 and 4 B-69 bombers failed to return after the first bombing runs, repeat missions are planned, with larger percentages of B-2 and B-71 bombers, since they did not suffer any losses...

Beacheads have been established at Point Pleasant and Atlantic City, NJ and the southern shores of Long Island. We have met stiff resistance on Staten Island, and have called off the invasion of it.
We are pleased to annouce the capture of Liberty Island, and have raised the Phoenix Militan Flag on the torch of Statue of Liberty.

As TPM forces stormed strongholds along the coast and began the push into Manhattan, Tyrador's leader, Douglas Maynard, decided to inspect the fortifications and damage in lower Manhattan. A mistake.
TPM armored units rolled down broadway at about 1400 local time, unable to escape via subway due to bombing, unable to escape via motorcade or helicopter due to the air supierority exersized by Phoenix Forces, Maynard retreated into makeshift bomb shelter, in what was left of a subway tunnel.

The sun is begining to set now, and the small group of soldiers and government officials can hear the clanking, scraping of the APCs over head, its only a matter of time.........

An explosion rocks the shelter *BOOM* Someone is banging at the door *CLONK* *CLONK* *CRASH* the door blows wide open!
**FIZZLE SSSST BANG** 40mm flash bang grenades come raining down on their heads.

Body guards try to get oriented and defend themselves and thier leader, just as there vision begins to come back, and the smoke begins to clear.....

Stubbs walks over to Maynard, picks him up by the shirt collar and stands him up against a brick wall. He offers the "Leader" of Tyrador a ciggarette and the chance for some last words.
He declines the smoke, but accepts his fate, and prepares to utter his final words.....

"Today you have destroyed us, shattered our civilization, broken our bodies...
But you will never break our spirit.
We are not forsaken, for I am not the only one.

Your hero Douglas Maynard has been executed for war crimes.

I, Field Marshall Maximus Xavier Seville The Second, of The Superpower Of The Phoenix Milita, declare myself the new Tyradorian Head of State.
Those who have any objections, are free to debate the finer points from the buisness end of my 8 Gauge.
I demand that all forces loyal to Maynard and his henchmen stand down NOW or face extermination. I implore the rebels, the so called Knights Of Tyrador to cease hostilites or suffer the same fate. We will systematicaly execute all Tier One Tyradorian government personalities begining at the end of this transmission. You will all be destroyed without your leadership, logistical support, and strategic planning abilities.
We have destroyed your command centers, we occupy your capitals, we will not rest until you are under our dominion.

Meanwhile the General very swiftly and quietly exited the command center, stripping off his uniform as he dashed through one of the escape tunnels.. when his aide came to get him, he found a large plasic container on the chair in the General's office, and a sign on the wall "RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!" It was a piece of C-4, inside a plasic box filled with napalm. The aide had no time to get out, he was only halfway up the stairs when the bomb went off, melting the computers, incinerating files and collapsing part of the cavern in which the bunker was built.....
The General had made it to the surface, now wearing a set of raggedy civillian clothes, he ran over to a waiting SUV and made his way somewhere.... noone knows where exactly. Reports of several simmilar episodes have been reported from major Tyradorian military bases, just as the orders to surender were given ..... whole brigades were dissappearing.... military equipment went missing.... whole squadrons of aircraft gone... where did they all go.......... ? ? ? ?

It wasn't of much concern, the Phoenix Militan forces were celebrating as milions of Tyradorian troops were paraded through the streets, off to god knows where.... It seems they had won, let them enjoy thier victory.... for now.....
