Pheniox, The Shadow Dunes - Today, war was declared on The Church of The Day Star, the founding church of The Theocracy of The Shadow Dunes, by The Cult of The Evening Heat, an extremist group known for using terrorist attacks as a means to get what they want. The cult has taken about 1/4 of the southern part of the country.
The cult, lead by Karl Samson, want the removal of The Church of The Day Star from power, the removal of The Prophet Timothy Zakeil, the current president and High Priest, from office, and the abolishment of all elections.
The Cult of The Evening Heat first appeared on the politcial scene when The Prophet Saria Debomo, the first female president of The Theocracy of The Shadow Dunes, died at the age of 91 in her home. She had been battling cancer for 2 years. The elections were held 1 week before The Festivle of The Harvest Star, which is held on the Autumnal Equinox. The election was a landslide; 95% of the population voted for The Prophet Timothy Zakeil, a charasmatic man who is the youngest President of The Shadow Dunes, at the age of 34. High ranking public offices, such as President and Senator, are held for life in The Shadow Dunes.
The Cult's leader, Karl, had also ran in the election, and he said the elections were biased to canidates from The Church of The Day Star. "They get 2 canidates" Karl stated three days before his cult's attack, "and they always win. They are unfit to lead this country."
"This act of treason will not be tolerated," The Prophet Timothy said in a press confrence hours after the attack, "and the heritics will be punished. The Day Star will guide us to victory." The Prophet Timothy also stated that The Church's Templars would be demployed. This is the first time since the country's founding that the Templars had needed to be deployed.
The Prophet Timothy also put out a plee to other nations. "Please help us in our time of needs. Our military is quite small, and we could use help with funding. Please be genourous in helping us destroy a treasonous tyrant."
