The Constitutional Fascist Republic of Artarcticia announces its presence to its neighbors.
Our nation has a simple government--corporate syndicates and heads of familial clans elect the Assembly and Leader. This government is all-powerful, operating in accordance with the written Constitution--this method insures successful authority while maintaining beneficial "rights" and familial integrity, both necessary to a successful Nation and State. "Rebellion" against "oppression" is recognized (lol), but if it fails, it is punished by torture and death of the participants.
Non-governmental entities called the Reactionary Militia and the Reactionary Guard (the latter being a full-time elite) act to prevent any Leftist or extremely moderate ideas from being expressed or implemented. Business, which is limited due to Antarcticia's location on the continent of Antarctica, is privately owned and operated, but the RM and RG act to keep industries in line with the best interests of the Nation and State.
All citizens maintain arms for universal militia and police duty (hence a low defense budget). Vigilantism, so long as in the interest of the Nation and State, is encouraged, though primarily for performance by the RM and RG. Hence, "courts" are a very small part of government operation. No real prison system exists (save the below), with alternative punishments being used. Any crime (save the below) which would seem to render one unsuitable to bear arms is punished by exile or death.
Mental illness, unless caused by definite physical problems (e.g., Alzheimer's, Down Syndrome), is a crime punished by permanent imprisonment in a facility, where the convict is kept in a padded room and strait-jacket and left to watch cartoons all day. Other mentally ill people (like the above-mentioned cases) are kept in controlled situations. Families are free to obtain professional help for their loved ones, but no government funds are expended for it.
"Welfare" by goverment is limited to locally-maintained "poorhouses," which require near-total divestiture of wealth to for admittance. We do not want starving and naked people on our streets. Here, such scum are clothed (sorta) and fed (sorta), and any who can be salvaged into something useful are.
