RIS Fleet Command would like to request FTL Drive systems designs from any manufacturer. We are currently taking and reviewing designs. We Currently possess Warp Technology and therefor are not in need of this type of drive. All other designs should be submitted to RIS Fleet Command on Serpantol Prime for review. When the design contract is complete we wish to purchase the building rights of the winning design.

OOC: I just need an FTL Drive that will give my ships a little faster response time when needed. Something faster then Warp Drives for System to System travel.

We have a rather amusing variety of FTL drives at our disposal. Perhaps you would be interested in one or two.

The SpaceFold drive or one of our own Quantum Slipstream drives might be useful.

Doubtless you already know what SpaceFold is, and the somewhat inherent risks to using such things without enormous computational power.

QS drives are much like your current WarpDrives, and as such are easily adapted from one to the other. They effectively utilize one of the more exotic aspects of spatial distortion to create a proverbial 'slipping slide', placing heavier power on the back end and less on the fore, allowing it to move somewhat faster. While this does not increase maximum velocity per se, it DOES allow the ship the ability to maintain velocities approaching their normal limits with much less strain on the energy reserves.

If none of these suit, we could likely look through our back files to find something more intriguing.

~Electronic Communication to Serpantol~
I can offer you our FTL Jump Drives. Unlike the other systems, they work by building up a field of gravitons and charged energy on the surface of the ship or the shields, at the end of the charging it "slingshots" the ship forward for the required amount of distance. As you have observed it isn't the most accurate in the world, but it allows us to cross thousands of lightyears in a matter of days or weeks (depending on if you have to stop and let the engines cool). We are currently working on a version that has more accuracy and longer range.

The Rift Genortaor is a comlicated system, made to transport things from one place to another WITHOUT Detection. It is impossible to trace, and while in the rift, the ships, in theory, do not Exist. They way it works is simple. A mechanisum near a computer shinks all nearby atoms, then pushes them away from the ship. This puts the ship into nothing, and in the seconds this is here, a ship could fly right through its possition, because it Is not there, it does not exist. In the seconds that follow, the ship reconstructs the Atom structure around it, making it match with the destination. Because of the fact it does this all at once, there is, quite suddenly a huge ship there. This allows for Instontanious transport Because if it is nowhere, then it can appere anywhere.

The main form of drive system used in the Republic is via Kraskinov artificial wormhole.

The system utilizes exotic matter system of generation, whereby power input into the generator coil can produce neutrinos for the formation and stabalization of a temporary wormhole between two point in the universe. Speed is irrelevant in the scope of the system, however distance is effected in how much power your present reactor technologies can supply to the system (The Republic primarily uses ZPM power generation schemes). While our newer Mark10 systems, used for travel between galaxies is not-for-sale... We do provide access to older Mark5 and Mark6 intra-galactic units capable of generation to distances of 100 to 120 thousand light years.
