OOC: RP nations that don't RP.

I hate it when this happens.
If you're wondering, I'm talking about Merlyns. We were supposed to RP him terrorizing my nation (note the opportunities I gave in my posts) and he didn't show up. He agreed to RP a war in TGs and didn't show up. The one thing I got him to actually show up on and you can see the effect for yourself. In effect, I have a national backstory that depends on RP and no RP to back it up.
Okay, how many of you have had this problem before?

Sometimes, there are circumstances beyond other people's control that affect their ability to RP, even when there are plans for a detailed RP that could be a major piece of national history on both sides. All you can do is hold up your end of the bargain. You can't point a gun at somebody's head and make them RP.

He's right, you know.
I tried it once, and all I got was a restraining order.

I know. It just annoys me.

I've had plenty of people do that to me, sometimes they just forget about a thread or two.
The Ch1nes3 is one, he will RP and claim to invade someone, but the moment when he is up against someone's ally he backs off and won't respond even to TGs. He is a godmodder and will run from every fight.

I've had this problem before, but you can't godmod and control another person's country. If you don't have the patience to wait or if they left entirely just move on. It's not like hanging on it will help.

Actually, I make it a point to get permission. The terrorism and attempted assassination were done with permission. But, otherwise, it is up to them.

Well in that case, they sound like sore losing scumbags. :D
OOC: This is how you learn who RPs and who doesn't.
Post count can sometimes tell you who does and doesn't, but not always.
A better idea is to read some of their threads - and then see if they can be depended on to finish what they start.
In writing ideas, I've made sure no one in particular has to show up for the tale to work (such as I asked Jaxus Nine to cause terrorist problems, got lukewarm response, and decided to use my own terrorists - named Jaxus Five). I'm also not above "overwriting" someone who has decided to "go lame".
Then again - I like playing, not waiting.
Yeah, I always say life comes before RPing. It is just a game and there is no need to get caught up in it to the extent that some people do (no offence! :p).

You've got a point. Unless there's a considerable amount of cash involved, no use getting worked up over a game.
