Government Brief To The International Community

Today, the Credonian government has recieved credible intelligence pointing to a possible all-out invasion of the continent of Africa by a nation that this government wishes not to announce at this point in time due to national security matters. Due to these looming threats, Credonia will be for the first time, sending troops to Somalia, the newest Credonian territory, to protect it from any and all threats that is posed by the aggressor nation.

Credonian intelligence officials are still looking into the intelligence that was given us by our ally, however, we believe that it is very credible considering the past history of the nation in question and its behavior within the region. At this point in time, Credonia is mobilizing the following military forces and will keep them at DEFCON 4 until further notice:

The Canadian Tundar supports the actions of Credonia and Bahbland...so long as these territories are not oppressed, which, from what we know of Credonia, we are assuming they do have the basic rights and freedoms they deserve. Though we have no holdings in Africa, we are opposed to imperialist conquests, and if Credonia wishes to defend the other peoples of Africa from such a fate, then the Tundra will stand by them.

OOC: Stryker APCs...ew...go for the originals, the Canadian army LAV-3 Infantry Section Carrier (Strykers are LAV-3s, built in London, Ontario, or at least a large number were). The american APC version can hold nine guys, but it only has a machine gun, the Canadian section carrier holds seven, but has a turret with a 25mm cannon, coax 7.62mm, turret top 7.62, and two banks of four 76mm grenade launchers. A damn fine vehicle all around.

Just moments ago, President Sutton ordered all Credonian military forces to DEFCON 2. In addition, the entire Credonian Southern Army currently stationed within Credonia are beginning to mobilize and will head towards Somalia shortly. The Credonian 99th Mechanized Infantry Division has already secured Somalia to the best of its ability and await further orders from Credonia War Headquarters in Credonia City, Credonia.

After viewing reports of Credonian mobilization, the Tundra is calling up multiple reserve divisions and mobilizing the second army, along with several Navy battlegroups which are headed towards Africa. So far these forces are only being mobilized should the African continent destabilize significantly (OOC: Is there a link to this whole invasion thing?), and more importantly, if free nations are threatened by imperialistic ones, or if a significant threat to the civilian populace becomes apparent (ie, genocide, ethnic cleansing, deliberate targeting of civilians more or less)

IC: Mobilizations are taking place not just in Africa, but in the mediterranean and in Europe. Credonia and its NWO allies are on a war footing. War may be imminent, however, at this time, Credonia still cannot give out any specific information at this point in time regarding the nature of Credonia's and most importantly, the mass mobilizations in the African and European regions. We will continue to update you and the rest of the world. Soon, the world will know the reason behind the mobilizations, however, Credonia is under oath not to disclose those reasons just yet. We are sorry for the inconvienence.

For now Gilabad is sending 20,000 Gilabadian marines, 1,000 Gilabadian "Alpha Force" special forces, and 40,000 huey gunships as advisors at this time to Nigeria. No war is being declared on Credonia now.
