OOC: For previous thread of claim see here (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=358480). A detailed map of Venezuela is here (http://www.trailmonkey.com/SAmerica/Venezuela_MAP.gif). Also note that this is an Earth II RP and not the same as the War on Drugs thread I am going down with. My plan is to have Venezuela be like Chechnya is to Russia and it to be a very long and murderous conflict within Earth II.

A new wave of violence has erupted in the Layartebian Colony of Venezuela. Annexed just a mere 8 (NS) years ago, the colony has been a controversial one. At times, in the past, rebels have conducted minor attacks to protect their drug cartel. However, this is far from that. Inside the main cities of Caracas, San Fernando, and Coro, rebel insurgency has caused havoc and chaos. Intense fighting between Layartebian military units and insurgents has been going on for a week now but has unfortunately peaked this evening. Reports are that forty-two civilians are dead and that fighting will be continuing into the night.
********************************************************
The Emperor looked over the brief. "Gentlemen," the Joint Chiefs were present, "this situation in Venezuela has gotten out of hand. These rebels, the Free-Venezuela Milita (FVM) have been taking pop shots at us for the past fourteen months but finally they have gone crazy. Fighting in the streets is ruthless."

"Well sir," The General of the Army had a specific plan already laid out. "Sir, we could reinforce our units there and make backwards campaigns into the jungles to nab them at their bases. With help from reconnaissance aircraft and satellites as well as bomber aircraft, we can decimate their bases through the jungles."

"Well it is not that simple sir." The Admiral of the Navy interjected. "The FVM aren't just in the jungles. They operate freely in at least fourteen of the cities there, including Caracas. We need a localized, specialized campaign of Special Forces."

"Such is my option always." The General of the Special Forces gleed. "Yes it is a most viable option but I am not entirely sure that the FVM is that big of a threat."

"Not that big of a threat! What are you mad General! Have you seen what the streets look like? They're hanging people in the middle of the street for Christ sake!" The General of the Air Force had had enough.

"Christ? When do you turn to religion?" The Emperor asked.

"Sorry sir, never. Emperor I must implore that we take swift action right away with overwhelming force to crush them wherever they are."

"Generals, Admiral. There is a grave need for our forces to get involved more so than we have. But at this time I do not know if this will be just another hiccup or a viable threat. I cannot take any chances though and will take the following measures. Admiral, you will deploy the 13th Fleet and a pair of Scythe submarines. As far as the Air Force goes, get going on reconnaissance flights and pre-strike imagry. The Army will be prepared to use force if necessary and we will reinforce those forces that are already deployed in Venezuela. I will authorize the use, right now, of a single Black Ops unit and two Special Forces units. The SEALS and Rangers will deploy to the region immediately as well as a Force Falcon group."

"Yes sir." They concluded but before they could leave the room, there was a loud knock at the door.

"Come in!" The Emperor shouted. An aide rushed in and handed him a memo and then rushed out, obviously nervous. "Gentlemen, it seems the situation has just gotten worse." He fell back down into his chair. "The Governor of Venezuela and his family have been kidnapped by the FVM. They are demanding a complete and total withdrawal of Layartebian forces from the region and demand independence. Additionally, the main governmental HQ in Caracas has been overrun. Prepare for the 9th Cavalry Division and its respective Infantry Division to deploy immediately. Admiral, get the subs and the fleet there ASAP!" The Joint Chiefs cleared out after noting their salutes and affirmative responses. The Emperor just sat back at his desk. What are we doing in this madhole!

It has been estimated that a 25 ESPK soldiers can successfully defend a location from 350 enemy soldiers successfully with 28 assault rifles, 13 machine guns, one minigun, and 48 grenades, with enough ammo.

They have been ranked in the top 5 best soldiers in the world by a number of military specialists. One military specialist group ranking them #1.

______________________

Emperor, he is one of 168 ESPK soldiers that I can dedicate to your efforts in Venezuela.

Please notify me if you accept. They can work with your forces perfectly, and would help in every military operation you performed.

I hope this can help repay you for the great generosity you showed me in our war with Neo Tyr and Hogsweat.

I am also wiring to you $1.8356 billion American dollars.

Please let us operate in Venezuela and help end this rebellion.

We thank you for the money and the troop assistance. We are pleased at your victory over Neo Tyr and his alliance. $1.8356B is being deducted from the $17.015B hold from the war. We also are curious as to how the mercenaries and the B-7C aircraft preformed. However, at this time we request that you stage your soldiers in an available location as we are still assessing the situation.

If you will give me an airport in one of your cities in Venezuela, I will deploy the troops immediately by C-17 transport. They will remain on stand-by until orders are given.

Since we are definitely not poor, I am wiring to you and additional $4.7889 billion American dollars. I would like to pay off my debt as soon as possible.

As for the mercenaries, they were very successful at rounding up Neo Tyr soldiers, after Neo Tyr's surrender. However, they killed about 25 of them for talking back before they returned to base.

The B-7C's worked marvelously. None were destroyed. They will be returned to you shortly.

14 Leopard 2A6 EX-II MBT's

22 Fuchs Transporters

10 155mm FH-1 Self-Propelled Artillery Guns

The Fuchs Transporters have been armed with 9.557mm custom-made Germanian miniguns instead of machine guns.

The minigun has also replaced one machine gun on the Leopards, and instead of their 125mm cannons, 40mm cannons have replaced them. Also, in place of the other machine gun on the tank, a TOW missile launcher has been added.

(That's why they've been called "Leopard 2A6 EX-II" instead of the regular "Leopard 2A6 EX".)

OOC: I went to bed lol. You got ahead of me hold up a minute. First off the Emperor doesn't have a name nor do my characters except a few. I just refer to him as 'The Emperor' and 'The Ambassador to xxx' because it makes it easier than trying to remember everyone's name and I don't have to waste my creative talents on naming. Now at this moment I was going to RP that the airport fell so just have your forces do this. Instead of being on the ground in Venezuela we can stage them inside Layarteb, in Pennsylvania for the time being until we do an airlift. We'll have you airlift in via C-18 from Layarteb when I move the rest of my forces down there. I am going to RP the 13th Fleet going next, as soon as I am done playing MK: Deception.

At the homeport for the 13th Fleet of the ILN, the Layartebian force was preparing to set off. They had to be at sea within the next hour in order to make it there on time. The fleet would sail with six airwings and additional helicopters spread across the various cruisers, destroyers, battleships, and support ships. All-in-all, the fleet was sailing with ninety-six ships, two submarines, one hundred and fourteen helicopters, and two hundred and thirty-six fixed-wing aircraft. The fleet carried with them a mighty quantity of missiles which included over thirteen hundred Tomahawk II cruise missiles, some with nuclear warheads of either two hundred and fifty kilotons or one megaton. The force projection was massive, an entire fleet with five carriers, five battleships, four missile ships, and plenty of destroyers, frigates, cruisers, and other ships.

The LCU-2000s would be carrying the 9th Armored Division. An-225 Cossak, Boeing 747-400, C-5B Galaxy, C-17A Globemaster III, and C-18A Galaxy II aircraft would transport soldiers and additional equipment to the theater of operations. Currently forces have control over the Caracas Provincial Airport, which will be used for all flights to and from Layarteb. It was just short of a twenty-two hundred mile journey by air and some two thousand nautical miles by sea. The fleet would be moving at twenty knots, which would take one hundred hours for them to make the journey. The entirity of the Imperial Layartebian Air Force is available for flights against Venezuela with inflight refueling over the Atlantic Ocean.

OOC: Like I said, this is going to be my Chechnya-Vietnam so it's going to last an ass-long time. I am going to get someone to play the FVM.

The tarmac was cluddered with aircraft, armor, infantry, weapons, and supplies. One third of the airlift had already begun and the ships were a mere four hours away from their positions off the coast. The two Scythe Class submarines had already reached the destination but were conducting patrol operations.

As the next third aircraft took off, a very alarming message came over the broadband. "Attention all air units for Operation Caracan Drop. Return to base immediately, operation cancelled. Airport in rebel hands."

Inside the Emperor's office he shook his head. What the hell is going on here! He called in his Joint Chiefs and the situation was discussed. They would need to gain control of that airport immediately. The SEALS would be deployed from one of the miscellaneous, merchant ships as they were so vast in number. Their goal would be to take the airport.

A single C-17 remained on course though, having its own orders. Inside it's cargo bay were the operatives from the 1st Black Operations Unit, Force Falcon. They were going in regardless!

In Pennsylvania, the ESPK ops heard the news of the rebel take over of the airport.

ESPK General Haptfeld complained to the higher authorities in Layarteb to send in the ESPK troops anyway.

The Emperor of Layarteb immediately picked up the phone upon hearing that the airport had fallen. He contacted the general in charge of North Germanian forces. "Sir. This is the Emperor. Yes. Thank you. Most regrettable yes. Where are you at this moment? Pennsylvania. Correct. Yes I would like you to report to Layarteb City for Central Command. Indeed. No I will send a private jet. Learjet. Yes. Very well." He gave orders to the Joint Chiefs to do what they had to do. Operatives from Force Falcon would HALO in and assist Navy SEALS in capturing the airport. Rangers would be deployed near the city of Caracas and San Fernando, also by HALO. Lastly, a small team of 25 ESPK soldiers from North Germania would parachute in near Coro and assist with already deployed and indigenous forces in securing that city, for the time being.

36,000 feet was a cold place to be. In the dark night over the Lesser Antilles, the C-17 loaded with the forty soldiers including five officers, traveled southward at a speed of four hundred knots. They would be bailing out some ten miles from the airport and actually pass over it in the jump and land some three miles away from it.

Down below, setting up position in the Carribean was the 13th Fleet, preparing air operations themselves to support the Black and Special Forces that would be attacking the airport outside of Caracas. The SEALS had already been deployed and were on their way from their coastal LZ to the west and south sides of the airport. The five Force Falcon teams would split up. Two would go to the airport and cover the east and the north. Another would go into the city of Caracas and operate and the other two would be tasked with going into the jungles and conducting S&D on the rebels.

The C-17 was at the drop point only minutes later and the forty soldiers were out of it in mere seconds. The C-17s with the North Germanian soldiers and the Rangers were taking off as the C-17 passed through its egress waypoint and was safe over the Carribbean again.

The airport was huge and with a force of some four hundred militiamen, the airbase was more than secure. Layartebian aircraft would not be able to land in any way, shape, or form. They had taken over the anti-aircraft batteries, now controlling an Improved HAWK battery and several M163 VADS units. POWs had been amassed in one of the hangars, guarded and kept under lock.

The ESPK forces in the C-17 parachuted out, and landed 1.3 miles outside the city of Coro. As they silently moved in towards the city in the dead of night, they scanned the area for any rebel troops.

All of their weapons were silenced.

They passed through thick foilage and followed a path they picked up.

Unteroffizier Hekkel threw his fist in the air.

All of the men moved off the trail and ducked down. Through their night vision equipment, they saw 7 green figures moving down the path towards them. They were dressed in flannel, jeans, and t-shirts. Clearly not the military of Layarteb.

Unteroffizier Hekkel motioned with his hand. He and 6 other ESPK soldiers fixed their silenced MP5's on the rebels. They opened fire, and as soon as they saw the bodies drop, they relocated their position.

They advanced further until they saw the city. They stopped in the forest and radioed to any Layarteb forces in the area.

"To Layarteb forces inside the city of Coro. This is N.G. ESPK squad 2.G.5-9.P, from Pennsylvania. We are in the southern outskirts of the city. Request rendezvous point inside. Engaged small rebel force outside of the city. Located possible rebel transportation path. Out."

All Layartebian Special and Black Force operatives were inside Venezuela and at their targets. The airport was under survelliance, the Rangers were set outside of San Fernando and Caracas. The Force Falcon teams that were set to go into Caracas were already beginning to operate in the city, systematically going from house to house taking out FVM snipers and patrols. The city was under their control as were the other two. The FVM had overwhelmed each city with forces and just stomped through ruthlessly, many of the local residents helping. Aside from the Force Falcon teams going into Caracas, none of the teams were set to do anything yet, just observe and gather intelligence.

Central Command recieved a radio message from the North Germanian team near Coro. They were ready and awaiting orders. There were special plans for them. Immediately, the ground commander sent out the orders for them.

Orders are as follows. Inside the city of Coro, near the center, is an ammunition supply heavily guarded by insurgent forces. Take and hold facility until reinformcements arrive.

In Coro...

The ESPK team silently moved in the dark into the city. They would not be easily seen, as they had a map of the city, and were taking back alleys. However, if any rebels were spotted, their orders from Germania were to kill them immediately.

The squad passed quickly through alleyways and small, dark streets. The main streets were littered with rebel forces. They knew taking on a force that large, even though it was poorly equipped and poorly trained, would be incredibly difficult.

Thus, they moved through the city undetected, unseen. They would have to reach the center of the city before daybreak, or they would encounter heavy fire. Needless to say, they moved as quickly as possible. They had about 8 - 9 hours to reach the rebel ammunition compound.

Unteroffizier Hekkel spotted a small group of 5 rebels speaking loudly in the alley they were moving down. Their backs were turned to the Germanians. He made hand gestures, and 5 ESPK ops quietly pulled out their knives.

They silently moved behind the rebels. Simultaneously, each ESPK op covered the mouthes of the rebels and slit their throats.

The ops moved on silently, occasionally encountering rebel soldiers. Of course, they were killed on sight.

Finally, after 7 and a half hours of marching, they located the compound.

ESPK Op Schultz, the sniper of the team entered a building near the ammunitions supply. He checked each room for any rebels. Only one room contained rebels.

He exited the building and informed his peers. 3 ops rushed in, and fired on the unsuspecting rebels.

The sniper set up a position facing the ammunition supply. With his silenced PSG-1 Sniper Rifle, he aimed at a rebel manning a machine gun post on top of the building as the ops began to surround it.

Once the ops had surrounded the building, he let off a single shot, and the rebel fell to his knees, and then face first onto the roof of the building.

Venezuelan Rebel 1: You hear that?

Venezuelan Rebel 2: Yeah, Pablo is probaly shitfaced again, no?

They laughed loudly before they saw a massive C4 explosion about 40 yards from the compound. Most of the rebels rushed to see what was happening, assuming they were being attacked.

As they did so, the ops blew open the main door and rushed inside. Rebels began firing, but were so inaccurate, no ops were hit. The ESPK stormed the building, slaughtering most of the rebels as they entered, hand- and legcuffing others to be prisoners.

ESPK Op Heinrich kicked open a door to see a small, well lit concrete room, full of AK-47's and bombs that were in the process of being built. There were 11 rebels inside, and all stood up at once and reached for their assault rifles, but not in time before a inceneration grenade was tossed in by Heinrich. He slammed the door and sprinted around the corner to his comrades for cover.

Shouting was heard inside the room before the grenade detonated, blowing up the explosives inside, and kicking the door out. All 11 rebels were killed.

The fighting continued for another 30 minutes before the ammunitions supply was secured.

Unteroffizier Hekkel: Layarteb control, this is ESPK Unteroffizier Hekkel. We have secured the ammunitions supply as ordered. We have 8 rebel prisoners, 55 have been killed, we have huge weapons caches, improvised explosive devices, grenades, ammo, and suspected biological weapon material, as well as a lot more. Request further orders. Out.

ESPK Sniper Schultz watched for any rebel reinforcements. As soon as they began to arrive, he began to pick them off. ESPK Ops inside the building fired at the approaching enemy, keeping them at bay...

Good work on securing. Hold prisoners and supply until reinforcements arrive. ETA unknown but certainly in excess of 48 hours. Ingress routes from friendly outpost some 30 miles away are heavily mined and manned by rebel forces. Stick tight!!!

The airport was grim and dismal. The four teams surrounding it had identified up to sixty-seven individual targets. The airbase was too vital for air attack. The airport was large, massive enough to support B-52 operations since it had a 3,000m and a 3,500m long runway. It was perfect for the necessity that they required. Air operations from the main land was certainly easy but 4,000 miles less gas is always a help on logistics.

The time came though. With some 300 rebels controlling the airport, it would be an all-night campaign. As soon as the sun went down, the teams went into action. The two Force Falcon teams pounced first and using their suppressed weapons, went from structure to structure, taking out rebels left and right. They were well-trained and moderately armed, certainly no rag-tag army.

The SEALS concentrated on the air defenses, going from battery to battery, killing the rebels and securing the facilities. Night vision made everything green and their spent shell casings made the ground brass.

Orders for both groups did not include the taking of prisoners. Neither Force Falcon nor the SEALS would be taking any prisoners except high-level command officials or intelligence officers but they were all in the main structure, the CIC, and that was the most heavily defended of the sixty-two structures at the airport. They were lucky, only having to concentrate on the military sections. All of the civilian sections were empty and a small Ranger team was securing those, reporting no contacts whatsoever.

By the time the sun rose the next morning, the base was, for the most part, under complete Layartebian control. A force size of some thirty-two secured the airbase and killed most of the rebels, some three hundred and forty-two. Eighteen were taken prisoner as they were high level officers and intelligence officers. The rebels certainly put up a stellar fight but it was just overwhelming to them to be facing four groups of Layartebian units, two of which were the ultimate warriors in the Empire.

Roger that, LCC. Will not be a problem. We've got an assload of ammo and explosives now!

Deep inside the compound, the 8 high-ranking rebel prisoners were bound and gagged, and in chairs. Unteroffizier Hekkel spoke in Spanish:

"You. Tell me immediately where your main bases of operations are in Coro."

The rebel's voice was muffled by the gag and his nose was bloodied.

"Oh, you wish to speak?

He removed the gag. Immediately afterwards, the rebel spit in his face.

"Well, I surely didn't underestimate you and your kind."

He wiped the spit from his face with a rag, removed his Walther P-99, put it in the center of the man's eyes for a good minute while tears, blood, and sweat ran down the rebel's face. He fired one shot.

[He waited a few moments, and looked back to the ESPK Ops in the room...]

"So. The rest of you, do you wish to die? Or will you answer my questions? I guarantee you, your fates will be much worse than his."

He removed the gag from another high-ranking rebel.

The rebel spoke, "You cannot torture us, you filthy kraut. That is a violation of the Geneva Convention, and you are a member of the U.N. The international community will be outraged when they find out. Why are you even here?"

"Funny you should bring that up, du Schwein, because Germania doesn't follow the rules of the U.N. or the Geneva Convention. Information is also never leaked from the ESPK or North Germania. And as far as I am concerned, you nasty little animal, no one would miss you a bit, besides your little Latino buddies, perhaps. They're of no concern, however. You hear those explosions and gunshots? That's not the sound of us testing our equipment. Your little friends have turned this area into their resting places.

And don't think for one second that they can overtake us. Have you ever heard of the ESPK Special Ops of Germania? They're ranked in the top 7 special forces group in the world, along with Layarteb's.

You should feel lucky. Layarteb forces - oh, did you not know he was our ally? Well, when they reclaimed the airport you idiots took over, they were far less lenient and took no prisoners. You should be thankful you're alive. However, unfortunately for you, Germanians are far more cruel than Layartebians. Do you know what a blowtorch is? You know, it can cut through inches and inches of steel quite easily. And do you know what it can do to the human flesh? Or have you ever heard of a military-grade taser? I'll give you an hour for you and your friends here to start talking.

The Unteroffizier exited the room while 2 ESPK Ops silently aimed their G-36's at the rebels. An Offizier pulled out a blowtorch and set it on a nearby table.
He removed a taser from his belt, flipped on the switch, gagged the rebel the Unteroffizier had been speaking to, and fired it into the center of his back. The rebel spasmed and screamed before the Offizier released the taser.

"Will you answer the Unteroffizier's question now?"

"Go to hell, you Germanian scum."

The Offizier set the taser to a higher setting, and held it to the side of his face. Smoke from burning flesh and facial hair began to rise into the air, and a boiling red mark was left on the rebel's face.

"Now? Or should I begin using the blowtorch and some scrap metal? It's similar to napalm, except much...much...more hot. Liquid metal dripped on your face is far worse than this taser.

[Speaking very slowly and clearly...]

You see, in Germania, we have various levels of torture.

[He lit a cigarette with the blowtorch, inhaled, and exhaled...]

Our first is beating, our second is tasing, our third is burning, our fourth is the torture and execution of your loved ones in front of you, our fifth is Medieval methods of torture, which I assure you are far...far...worse than the other four.

Of course, if we get no answers out of you by then, we'll begin amputating parts of your body. Parts you will miss.

So. How about I save you a lot of pain, and allow you to tell me where your main base of operations is?"

"I will tell you pigs nothing!"

"Very well."

The Offizier removed a strip of scrap metal, flipped on the blowtorch, and held the metal over the man's eyes.

"We shall see soon enough how willing you are to talk."

Inside the depths of Layarteb Central Command, the intelligence analysts had made a startling discovery. The brief was immediately sent up to the Joint Chiefs, along with the communique from the airport.

The Joint Chiefs were, as usual, in a meeting with the Emperor and when the briefs came into the room and onto the table, silence was about the only thing in the room. "Well sir, the airport is under our control. Reports are that there are 342 dead with 18 captured. They are all high ranking officials. No casualties to our forces."

"Very well. We must commence operations immediately. And of the position of the fleet?"

"Sir the fleet is in position and standing by."

"Very well, we will use them as air support when we attack Caracas, Coro, and San Fernando. We will have to act quickly though. General, what is the status on those cities?"

"Sir, according to this second brief, the special forces teams will have to hold back."

"Yes please inform me of the brief. You have hogged it the whole time." The Emperor was joking and it was a relief to them.

"Sir, rebel strength in all cities is nearly triple what we estimated. That puts some 20,000 in Caracas, 17,500 in San Fernando, and 14,800 in Coro. Additionally they have armor, heavy weaponry, and the possibility of helicopters. Our ground forces are going to need more protection."

"They will. We'll adjorn for an hour. Let us wait until North Germania replies to us so that we can see what their situation is. Inform them of the force estimates in Coro."

With the airport secure, the airlift could begin. The most sensitive equippment would not be brought in, just enough to hold the airfield and assist friendly forces in Caracas. AH-6 Littlebird, UH-60 Blackhawk, and AH-64 Apache helicopters would be brought in to help assist ground forces. The five aircraft carriers near the coast would provide most of the air support. The helicopters and V/STOVL aircraft on those carriers would be the first responders with Hornets and Typhoons as the second level, if they were needed.

Air operations were commencing with naval F-14Ds running recon over the cities along with naval F/A-18Es. Typhoons and Raptors would be providing cover for them as well as F/A-18Cs and other F-14Ds. AV-8B+ Harriers and Cobra gunships were up in the air, preparing to assist as friendly forces recieved a countdown to the assault on Caracas. Special Forces would be sent in ahead of time. The Force Falcon teams were already operating but they were told to pick up the pace, not that any group could move as fast as they could. Rangers would go as soon as the sun set. SEALS were tasked with guarding the airfield. Near San Fernando, the Rangers were given the green light.

Air operations had commenced. Layartebian carrier aircraft had taken off and were bombing rebel positions in Caracas, Coro, and San Fernando. The teams were on the move and supplies were being airlifted to the main airport in support of this massive operation now affectionately refered to as Operation Velvet Revolver.

Inside Caracas, the Force Falcon teams pushed onward. There were five of them: Two, Six, Seven, Eight, Ten, and Eleven. Two was the most experienced of the five and they were spearheading the operation. They had all broken the city up into five sections and each were clearing a section, working efficiently fast. The Rangers had also begun their assault, coming out of their hiding spots, ingressing into Caracas and San Fernando. They each had two objectives to secure per city. In Caracas, one group had to secure the Govenor's building and another group would secure the main radio and television station. In San Fernando, one group had to secure the main satellite relay station, which was still under Layartebian hands but not for long, and another group had to secure a fuel dump.

Overhead, F/A-18Cs, F/A-18Es, F-26Bs, and AV-8B+s soared overhead above twelve thousand feet dropping laser-guided munitions, GPS guided munitions, firing Mavericks, and using cluster bombs and rockets. A few FIM-92 and SA-18 missiles were shot at the aircraft but thus far had failed to score any hits. FVM rebels were engaging both the aircraft and the soldiers heavily. The Rangers were taking most of the beating but Force Falcon was engaged in many fire fights themselves.

As Team Two began to secure the northwest portion of the city, they entered the stadium, believed to be a staging point for FVM attacks. What they found was a phenominal weapons cache including light armor and APCs. This was definitely the main base for the rebels and it was shown, there were some six to seven thousand rebels here, at minimum. Even they could not take down this target and they moved on, making a note of the target for air operators who, every time they approached the Stadium, began taking AAA and SAM fire. It was the most dangerous target in the city.
**********************************************************
The Emperor had just finished ordering a satellite recon of northeastern Russia. A situation was developing there. He recieved the intelligence report from Operation Velvet Revolver after it had commenced six hours earlier. The results were optimistic. Though friendly forces had sustained two fatalities, Rangers, they had secured a decent portion of Caracas, 25%, and 32% of San Fernando, including the satellite relay station, which was lacking FVM rebels. However, the Caracas stadium concerned him. He knew that if he ordered forces into there he would lose a good portion of his soldiers even if they were top operatives. There were just too many FVM forces there.

He picked up the phone and called the Admiral of the Navy. "Admiral. Yes. I understand. What kind of chemical weapons are onboard those carriers? What kind Admiral. Zombie rockets with chemical warheads. Yes I would like to know the chemical. VX-II-A. How many rockets do you have? Sixteen? Use two of them on the Caracas stadium. Yes I am aware. I don't want to be telling a thousand mothers why their sons are not coming home. Thank you."
**********************************************************
A pair of F/A-18Cs took off from the carrier, each armed with two AGM-183C Zombie rockets and two AGM-183B Zombie rockets. The AGM-183 Zombie was a rocket designed from aging AGM-45 Shrike airframes. The airframes were structurally sound but the components outdated. Each rocket was 10.9" long, 8.0" wide, and weighed 480 lb. The A version carried a 250 lb. incendiary warhead, the B version a 250 lb. HE warhead, and the new C version, a 250 lb. chemical warhead. With a maximum speed of Mach 2, the rocket had a range of 0.2 to 10 miles and was unguided. It was essentially a big rocket. With the way the computer on each aircraft was, the rocket could be targetted accurately to within 10' of the target. The rocket was designed for CAS missions and this was one of them.

Aside from the four Zombie rockets, each F/A-18C carried a pair of AIM-9X Sidewinders and a pair of AIM-120C-6 AMRAAM missiles. The fighters climbed to 20,000 feet and ingressed to the target at some 500 knots. The carrier was roughly 110 nautical miles from Caracas and they would have a fifteen minute flight from the time they were at 20,000 feet to the target. It was a hop, skip, and a jump for them. Equipped with a centerline 330 gallon fuel tank they had a range of over 1,000 nautical miles. They really only needed 300 to get from the carrier to the target, 150 for reserve, and another 150 just for loiter. They would have plenty of fuel.

As they descended onto Caracas, they maintained 20,000 feet. However, once the stadium came into view and they began their attack dive, they pitched down 20° and lined up the stadium. When they were at about 12,000 feet, they fired one rocket each and immediately pulled nose up to 45° as they lit their afterburners. A pair of SA-18s lifted off from the stadium as the two rockets streaked downward. The pilots noticed the SA-18s and cut their afterburners. Banking sharping the opposite way, they dropped flares. Each aircraft had 60 flares and they dropped 6 of them each to avoid the SAMs that were streaking up at them at a speed of Mach 2. The small missiles would definitely damage the F/A-18Cs and had the ability to down them but they would not be so lucky. The F/A-18Cs topped 20,000' the missiles lost velocity and engine power, detonating mid-air as they chased elusive flares.

The rockets impacted some 6 seconds after launch. A cloud of white smoke engulfed the stadium as the VX-II-A dissipated. With an open dome, at the time, the poison gas billowed out, something the Emperor was not happy about. Luckily, civilians and military units were sparse or non-existent around the stadium, respectively. Aside from the 6,400 dead FVM rebels there were 162 dead civilians. It was unnecessary but it saved the lives of countless Layartebian soldiers.

The F/A-18Cs discarded their two AGM-183B rockets on three more targets, each of them being directed in by Ranger teams against targets inside Caracas. One of the strikes nailed a major sniper, machine gun, and ammunition cache of the FVM. They landed safely and the two unused AGM-183C rockets were placed back in cold storage.

Rebel holdouts in Caracas were still plentiful. Though they lost their main base of operations at the stadium they had not lost their will to fight. A group of Rangers were making their way to the govenors mansion but were encountering a lot of resistance along the way. Rebel fighters had the streets lined with mines and booby-traps. They occupied most of the homes along the path as well and took pop shots at the Rangers. Though they failed to put less than 1% of their bullets on mark, they severely slowed down the Rangers.

It became so difficult that the Rangers had to call in air support from a pair of AV-8B+ Harrier IIs and a pair of AH-1W Super Cobras operating in their district. The Harriers came screaming in first, using their 2.75" CRV7 rockets to pound eight houses along the way, which they were recieving heavy fire from. As the Harriers looped around, the Cobras came in. They were armed with eight BGM-71 TOW missiles and fourteen 2.75" Hydra rockets each as well as their full 20MM load of seven hundred and fifty shells.

Immediately after they entered the fire zone, RPGs and MANPADs lifted off from the ground. Most of them were from roof top positions that were easily knocked out by the guns and rockets of the helicopters as well as sniper and regular fire from the Rangers. The Harriers came back in again, using more rockets against the rooftops as they also took MANPAD fire. Both the helicopters and the Harriers were using their flares and the IR jamming system on the Cobras were on.

That continued for at least fifteen minutes as the Rangers inched down the road. The mansion was less than a half mile in front of them but it was taking in excess of an hour to get there. The Cobras and Harriers eased the situation greatly. Combined fire from the Harriers and the Cobras neutralized more than three quarters of the positions, allowing them to move swiftly down the road towards the mansion. Intelligence estimates put at least one hundred and eighty rebels inside the mansion with the possibility of the governor and his family being there but that was definitely unlikely.

We are under heavy assault! Request immediate airstrike on coordinates: Bravo.5.0.Alpha.39.AS. Position is roughly 150 yards outside of our base of operations. Estimated 200+ rebel soldiers engaging our position. Being attacked from all sides. We have taken 15 injuries. No deaths. We have 10 machine gun nests established in the base. An additional 25 ESPK Ops have made it successfully to our position. Machine guns are getting too hot. We are prepared to use the chemical materials found in the base if necessary. N.G. Op Base out.

Estimated rebel deaths: 90+

------------------------------------

The base had been under siege for over 14 hours. Rebel bodies were beginning to pile up in the streets surrounding the base. Machine guns and Panzerfaust-3's were constantly being fired at approaching rebel forces. The building was sustaining heavy damage from mortar and RPG attacks.

On the southern side of the building, a mortar struck an already damaged wall and collapsed it, killing 2 ESPK Ops. Immediately, 4 Panzerfaust-3 rockets were fired in succession at the rebel mortar position. 3 ESPK Ops set up two miniguns in the rubble of the wall.

Some 20 rebels began running towards the collapsed section, in an attempt to storm the building.

However, before they could reach the area, the ESPK miniguns fired off walls of depleted uranium contact-explosive ammo at the rebels. The line of insurgents fell to the ground.

The ESPK Ops began firing off mortar rounds out of the operations base at the rebels. One shell hit the side of a building, creating an avalanche of concrete and brick rubble to fall on top of a group of rebels huddled around a truck with a machine gunner on top. The rubble crushed the truck and buried the rebels...

The distress call was immediately relayed to a pair of F-14D Tomcats flying a CAS support mission for Coro. One was armed with four Paveway III bombs and the other with four MK-83 Slick iron bombs. As they recieved the distress call they immediately turned up their engines to full military power, accelerating past Mach 1 as they dashed towards Coro at 12,000 feet. When they were eight minutes out they contacted the EPSK group requesting target information and informed them of their ordinance loads. The F-14s were certainly not packing that much of a punch but it was enough, if placed well, to completely eradicate all hostiles.

The Rangers entered the mansion shortly after the Cobras and Harriers departed the area. Things were grim. The mansion had been subjected to mortar fire and significant small arms fire, showing that there was definitely a major firefight. As they searched the giant fifty room, three floor mansion, things rebel after rebel popped out to meet their fate. The Rangers pounced hard, very hard. But by the time they had covered the whole mansion and come to the single, remaining room, the governors bedroom, hope was lost. A flashbang neutralized the room and they charged only a second later, shooting two guards but wounding the four commanders, all of whom were noticible by the ranks displaying on their shoulders. The governor and his family were not there. Now became that grueling task of interrogation and eventually finding them.

Port of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Layarteb

The convoy was ready to sail. It consisted of two Twin Towers Flight II class coastal patrol frigates, two Shield Class submarines, fifty LCU-2000 class ships, and thirty assorted merchant ships. They were carrying supplies, armor, soldiers, and weaponry to Venezuela via the water. It was a four day journey for them and they would be making it in those four days. P-3C and P-7A Orion and Orion II aircraft patrolled the routes down and up for the convoy and despite the non-existent threat from submarines or hostile shipping, the necessity of a patrol was still present.

Inside Caracas, the fighting was brutal. Naval aircraft continued to pound rebel positions with rockets, Mavericks, iron bombs, and guided bombs. It seemed as if the rebels were just everywhere! News from the governor's mansion spread through the ranks of Rangers and Force Falcon personnel operating inside the city, as well as newly deployed airborne soldiers who had only arrived two days prior. This battle had been going on for, at minimum, two weeks. Still, the city of Caracas was under mixed control though Layartebian forces were doing well. A massive airlift was underway from Layarteb to Venezuela and thus far only 20% of the full force had been deployed.

Heavy bombers had been conducting long-range missions with great success. Given the lack of air defenses under rebel control it was very easy and they could use the B-1B and B-52H aircraft in service, despite their aging airframes and technological weaknesses.

They hoped to have the city under control by the time the convoy arrived. That was four days from today!

Meanwhile, in Coro city, the Schultzpolizei were engaging in heavy fire fights with rebels.

The tanks and further infantry support could not land until a port was secured in the city.

Some 55 rebels had been killed within a matter of 3 hours. The Germanic will, precision, and efficiency allowed for no Schultzpolizei attritions. And due to the fact that they were trained much better, and their guns and equipment were so many times better than those of the rebels, there was no comparison between the two. And the fact that Layarteb had saved the lives of the troops in the base of operations, they were determined to give Layarteb their all, and secure the entire city.

------------------------------------------------

An additional 200 Schultzpolizei Guards had been airdropped to the base of operations in Coro. They were in the process of planning a major raid and seizure of the largest port in Coro.

North Germanian tank bombardment of the city was extensive, and it was creating blocks of rubble from where rebels had set up attack points out of buildings and houses and shops. Fire was prevented by the Schultzpolizei.

The fighting seemed to only be increasing in Coro exponentially, and it seemed that the entire country would only be in a worse state from here on out.

Naval aircraft were being shot at much less now though a single F/A-18C was reported to be downed in the city after sustaining a MANPAD hit. As the airborne soldiers, Rangers, and Force Falcon operatives swept the city, block by block, closing in and pushing all rebel forces to the city center, air support kept up. AH-1W Super Cobra gunships and AV-8B+ Harrier II jump-jets came down on the rebels with 2.75" rockets, BGM-71 TOW missiles, and iron bombs like a plague of locusts. It wouldn't be long now but Layartebian forces had sustained casualties, 62 thus far, mostly Rangers but 11 of which were airborne soldiers.

[Earlier]

The F/A-18C Hornet came down onto the target, pitched at -25°. It was bearing down from 24,000 feet against a structure with at least 40 to 50 rebels, heavily armed. A salvo of 2.75" CRV7 rockets and a pair of MK-82 Slick iron bombs would be enough to finish off the structure. The F/A-18C was loaded with four MK-82s and four LAU-5003A 19-round CRV7 pods, as well as a full load of 20MM shells, two AIM-9X Sidewinders, and a pair of AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM missiles.

As the F/A-18C came down to 16,000 feet, the pilot fired a quick burst from the trigger, letting loose at least some 16 rockets. The two bombs fell quickly thereafter and the pilot pulled back hard on the stick as the F/A-18C suddenly was pitched to +35° and in a +6.2G climb, afterburners on. That was the mistake and the pilot knew it when the warning lights came on.

Out of no where the right engine light came on and warned "FIRE! FIRE!" It was no use hitting the fire extinguisher, the pilot could see that. Looking back she could see that no only was the engine on fire but a large chunk of the back stabilizer was missing. It was definitely a direct hit.

There wasn't much time and the pilot leveled off the plane and quickly ejected. The F/A-18C crashed soon after, failing to explode but taking a house with it and a civilian family hunkered up for shelter. Though the pilot landed in a relatively unoccupied part of the city, it wouldn't take long for the rebels to make their way there, having seen the chute.

CPT. Silvia West woke up groggy, bleeding still from her landing. On the way down she got tangled and crashed through a roof hole created by one of the many aerial bombs dropped. She was rendered unconscious after falling sixteen feet from the ceiling to the floor, her chute becoming tangled in the twisted wreckage of the building. Other than a few lacerations and the bump on her head, she was physically fine, definitely one lucky woman. She was the mother of two and at thirty-eight, just one of 850 female pilots in the Layartebian Navy.

Luckily, for her, the rebels had not seen her enter the building and was, for the time being, safe. Armed with only a compass, a map, a radio, and a .45ACP pistol, she immediately tried to ascertain her location, it being night time now. Her watch told her it was 2106, five hours after her ejection, roughly. A team of Rangers had been sent to her supposed location to search for her but had, thus far, been unsuccessful in finding her. It was up to her to radio to the carrier and attempt to get out of this city.

But, matters were complicated. Over head was a freak, very strong, and very powerful thunderstorm. The electricity generated from the lightning was doing a number on her communications and despite the thickness of the atmosphere, she could not reach the carrier. Air operations were suspended for the time being and fighting on the ground was heavy but lighter than it had been over the past few days.

In San Fernando, the fighting had finally ceased. Rangers and regular infantry personnel had brought in armor and artillery and surrounded the last bit of rebels. Finally, they had pounded the living daylights out of the rebels. A grand total of some 8,658 rebels were killed and an additional 6,582 were POW status. Not many had managed to escape. However, Layarteb forces lost a total of 182 inside San Fernando, mostly infantry and some Rangers, mostly from the open gunbattles that happened nightly when Layartebian forces were on the move.

Coro...

Rebels had begun swarming any Germanian positions in the city. Though only 2 Germanian soldiers had died, this had shown Germania that the rebels were not so weak as they previously thought...

Coro Port had been captured, and thousands of Reichswehr and Schultzpolizei Guards were unloading by the boatloads. Over 65 tanks had also been unloaded, and were making their way to the base of operations.

-----------------------------

NG Base of Operations; Coro...

Unteroffizier Grovenheim: Herr Commander, we have reports of a Layarteb F/A-18 being downed. The pilot has survived. Intel reports state that Rangers are en route on the ground, but apparently are under heavy fire from rebel forces.

Commander Schteiner: Thank you, Grovenheim. Assemble a helicopter task force. We owe the Layartebians for saving our asses here.

-----------------------------

The task force:

10 NH-90 Transport Helicopters, each armed with two minigun posts

12 AH-64 Attack Helicopters armed with 20 Stinger missiles, and 10 Hellfire missiles, as well as a minigun

6 AH-6J "Little Birds" armed with 10 Hellfire missiles

15 ESPK Ops

Message To: Layarteb Venezuela Command
From: Reichswehr Command; Coro

We are sending a helicopter and special ops task force to get your pilot out. Be aware! -- friendly helicopters in the air. ETA 38 minutes. Extra transports for your Rangers on the ground.

Our objectives are to rescue your pilot, and pull any Rangers out of hostile areas. Over.

------------------------------

38 minutes later...

The 28 helicopters flew low and fast, staying out of the thunder clouds. They mantained a steady speed of 125 miles per hour. The wreck of the jet was seen from the air. The AH-64's formed a protective ring, while one NH-90 Transport landed and unloaded 10 Ops. An ESPK Commander spoke over a loudspeaker in English:

"Layartebian pilot, this is Germanian task force 5.6.F.9, from the city of Coro. We are here to take you out of any hostile situation. Please, come with us now. We have Ops on the ground to protect you. Over."

The rebels began to pour in. The AH-64's unloaded Stingers and Hellfires at large groups, and watched for any RPGs. The NH-90's in the air fired off their miniguns almost constantly. The ESPK Ops on the ground had killed several rebels wielding RPG Launchers.

They were almost ready to relocate until they saw a woman in a Layartebian air force uniform with a pistol in her hand run out of a nearby building. Almost shooting her because of the pistol but stopping themselves, the ESPK Ops rushed towards her.

The first to reach her was Unteroffizier Klein.

Klein: Ma'am, please come with me now.

They rushed back to the NH-90, and lifted off the ground.

They would relocate and search for the Rangers...

- N.G.

OOC: Hope you didn't mind I did that, L. I wanted my Unteroffizier to get some action while in a high-risk war zone. And not military action... :)

OOC: Nah, it's cool...

The Ranger team had shuffled into a large, fairly standing, but unoccupied building. Rebel forces had pinned them down some two hundred yards from the crash site, close enough to hear the Germanian helicopters and see them unleash their fury. The torrential weather was a wonder that they were in the air. The forty-two Rangers were now thirty-eight, four having been killed (two by RPG, one by machine gun fire, and one by friendly fire). It was certainly a difficult situation for them and ask they fired upon the many, many, many buildings they were taking fire from. There were just too many and the buildings in this area were too well built to be destroyed by simple Hellfire and rocket fire. It would take two thousand pound bombs, delivered from fixed-wing aircraft but unfortunately, the weather kept them on the carrier deck. It looked like they would be there for some more hours, until the weather cleared.

A smoke bomb was thrown from where the Rangers were, and the Germanian helicopter task force picked up on it.

The Little Birds and AH-64's began to barrage the streets full of rebels with their Stinger missiles, Hellfire rockets, and miniguns.

Four NH-90's touched down, and the Rangers rushed inside.

The transports lifted up off the ground, and the force began to depart. However, as they were leaving, the back end of an AH-64 was hit with an RPG and began to spin downwards, clipping a building and landing in the streets.

Rebels began to swarm around it, and the cockpit opened. Shots could be seen coming out of it, and 14 rebels were gunned down before the helicopter cockpit was hit with RPG and AK-47 fire.

The faces of the Germanians winced as they watched their friends die.

[Speaking to 8 Rangers and the female pilot, and obviously fighting back tears.]

Unteroffizier Klein: The pilot of that helicopter was my younger brother. The gunner, my oldest friend. Four of you died, two of us died. A small price to pay for saving 38 of your men. Just know, Germania will help and defend Layarteb to its dying breath.

He turned away, and his body heaved as he silently weeped.

The helicopter task force flew off into the setting sun, towards Layarteb command...

As the Germanian NH-90 came into visual range, the tower contacted the helicopter, instructing it to land at helipad access port 7. A pair of Layartebian C-17s had just landed, an emergency operation despite the torrential weather. They were each carrying medicial supplies and ammunition enough to last all deployed forces for a week. It wasn't that much but the merchant convoy delivering the massive ton cargo was having engine troubles and currently drifting southward off the coast of North Carolina some three hundred and eighty-five miles out.

The Force Falcon team on the southern edge of Caracas were in need of that ammunition. Despite the horrendous storm, a Layartebian MH-53 was set to drop the supplies to them via the air. Enough armor had arrived to send out a battalion into the city. M1B1 Abrams II MBTs, M2A2 Bradley IFVs, M113A3 APCs, M2006A1 Emperor MBTs, M998 Humvees, and M2008A1 Dingo APVs would be going into the city at first light with regular army units.

The NH-90's touched down, and the Rangers and pilot unloaded.

The attack helicopters returned to base in Coro, flying as low as possible to avoid wind gusts.

The NH-90's lifted off the ground, and returned to base.

---------------------------------

In Coro, the fighting continued into the night. With their full night vision equipment, the Schultzpolizei had the definite upper hand on the rebels. No artillery was used, due to the poor weather conditions.

Germania realized that the best way to fight the rebels was to attack at night, when they were totally vulnerable...

After nearly three weeks of fierce and unrelenting fighting, the cities of San Fernando and Caracas were finally under Layartebian control. The governor had been rescued along with his family and more rebels were killed then anyone cared to talley. The situation seemed to finally be under control and ready to be dealt with on a more civilized level.

A black ops team had been delivered to the main HQ of the FVM. Guiding 2,000 lb. GBU-24s to the target had vaporized it and all of those inside.

The war was over...

The war had been over for weeks. Order had been restored to Venezuela and all was well again, for the time being. It was expected that violence would erupt again as Christmas drew near but it did not.
