Mexico City (XNS)- Today, President Gordon Lew of Upper Xen authorized elements of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Marine Expeditionary Units, along with elements of Xenizen SOG to intervene in Mexico, citing an "increase in violence and the fulfillment of a request by the New Liberty Party to support their fight for liberty, equality, and justice, and to create a Free Republic of Mexico."

The move comes after negotiations between the government of Upper Xen and the leader of the New Liberty Party, Eduardo Alvarez, in which the government previously pledged financial, humaitarian and military aid to the movement.

"Now," Lew says, "We have kept up our end of the bargain, to Mr. Alvarez and the people of Mexico."

At last report, units of the 1st were reported to have landed at Cabo San Lucas, elements of the 2nd had landed at Manzanilla and began to push inland, and units of the 3rd took control of Ixhuatan in Oaxaca State. The elements of SOG (whose movements and names are classified) were rumored to have joined with elements of the NLP somewhere in Chiapas and other undisclosed locations, but this cannot be confirmed.

In addition to the military intervention, Upper Xen has also extended recognition to the NLP movement's government in exile, declaring them the "sole legal government that can safely defend the rights of the Mexican people."

President Lew, speaking about the recognition, said: "We officially recognize the Free Republic of Mexico, and the New Liberty Party's fight to overthrow a fascist government that uses Indians and dissidents for target practice, and conspires to rob the common people for personal profit. With our Marines and our Medicines (about USD$750,000,000 of them) we will aid the people of Mexico in securing their natural rights to life, liberty and property within reason."

The NLP, a coalition of revolutionary forces operating in the states in the Yucatan, Chiapas and Michoacan, has been fighting the Mexican government for several years in various forms for Mayan and Indian rights, better conditions for the peasants, and for a reform program formed on the basis of "freedom for all Mexicans, and equal rights."

Their struggle in Mexico has been accentuated in recent years by accusations of vote-tampering, disappearing of political dissidents, shady deals with the Mafia and the DIS, and massacres of refugees and ethnic Mayans in the Chiapas region.

Ok let me get this straight, you allow anybody to claim where ever they want, multiple times?

IE: Nation A claims the US, Nation B comes along and also claims it as a base to rp from?

Based on those rules, I claim Mexico. Apparently, on this thread, there was no distinct Earth series, as they are all considered to be on the same NS Earth......

Merida, Yucatan State (XNS)- Today, forces of the NLP took command of the city of Merida in the state of Yucatan after a bloody 2-week battle. Raising the flag of Free Mexico, Eduardo Alvarez, returning from exile declared that "this is a great day for all in Mexico. From the jungles, we have come to recliam the land for the people of Mexico, and drive out those who destroy our dream of liberty."

This battle followed a 6-month campaign in Southeast Yucatan state by the NLP to take the province from Mexican authorities.

In addition, with the help of Xenizen B-52's based in Hawaii and F-35 strike aircraft based on the Wasp-class landing boats now anchored at La Majada, NLP forces were able to stage a general offensive into the Meseta Central de Chiapas, going so far as to the towns of Chanal, Oxchuc, Cancuc and Tenango and puting rebel forces close to the city of San Cristobal de las Casas. Rebel troops were also seen to have been engaging government troops near the Mexican side of the Rio Cuilco, at Rizo de Oro and Angel Albino Corzo, as well as making significant gains on Highway 200.

The Northern Front, in Manzanillo, has seen a rapid blitzkrieg into the interior and the siezure of the state capital of Colima. So far, units of the 2nd Marines have not encountered much opposition. The campaign by the 3rd Marines in Oaxaca has been trying, but progress has been made, capturing Chivela and Almoloya.

President Lew has also authorized an escalation of the intevention, sending units of the Pacific Fleet's Togo Carrier Battle Group, including the Togo-class carriers UXS Defiant and UXS Heihichiro Togo, along with the 250th Airborne Infantry Division "Angels Division" and the 1st and 25th Airmobile Cavalry Divisions "Deathwatch" and "Wolves of Mibu" to aid the NLP/Xenizen forces in Mexico, as well as an increase in supply drops to the NLP forces.

Mexico City (XNS)- Today, elements of the 250th Airborne Infantry Division "Angels Division" and the 1st Airmobile Cavalry Division "Deathwatch" landed in Mexico City. Aided by B-52's from the "Flying Hawaiians" 85th Bomber Wing and strike planes from the Marine bases in Manzanillo and the carriers recently deployed in the area, they have successfully taken Mexico City International Airport, and are pushing into the city center, encountering major resistance.

In addition, rebel NLP forces, with the aid of the 250th Airmobile Cavalry Division "Wolves of Mibu," SOG troops, the jets of the UXS Hehichiro Togo and the 88th Bomber Wing "Yellowjacket Boys" have taken Tuxtla Guerritez and San Cristobal de las Casas, and have made great gains in Chiapas, and a successful seizure of Tabasco state.

A general uprising in Oaxaca state, supposedly backed by SOG units, has occured. At last report, rioting broke out in Oaxaca City, killing 6 policemen and causing severe property damage.

Rebel NLP leader Eduardo Alvarez declared: "It is only a matter of time. Our forces and the forces of our friends in Upper Xen have pushed the tyrants out of the Southeast of Mexico. People of Chiapas, Tabasco, Yucatan, Quintana Roo and Campeche, you are now free, and under our protection. Mayas and other Indians of these regions take heart. You will not be harmed again. Your children and women may eat and live their lives without fear of death by gunfire, or dissapearing by government death squads."

"Mr. President, you have violated the trust the people of Mexico gave to you, and have used it to abuse the people, crush dissent, and invite foreign fascist tyrants to rule us (referring to the appointment of Thomas Vanderoven, an ex-Selous Scouts and Volunteer Guard member as Defense Minister). We will have no more of this."

The development has forced the President of Mexico, Juan Delgado of the PRI, to flee into a secure bunker. He only commented: "I'll be back." His Interior Minister, Hernan Guerritez, declared that "We will not surrender. The rebellion has not shaken our resolve. We deny any accusations made against us, and we will crush the rebels."

To aid the Mexico City offensive, the 99th Airborne Division "Satsujen-Ken" and the 78th Infantry Division "Alexander Nevsky" have been flown into Mexico City. More SOG units have been flown in, as well.

His Majesty had just finished a toast to the health of his wife when the Minister whispered in the Kings ear. At that Alemander rose, and followed by the Duke proceeded to the first floor of his private apartments. Awaiting him in the lavishly decorated map room was Field Marshal Sir Inselm Hhune, Second Lord of the Admiralty Lord Jers Tarrock, Minister of War Baron Starke, Cardinal Prince Lestres of Darromar and Minister of Finances Marquis Ithmong. The Duke of Myratma took his place at the greak oak table, and with the Kings recline the lords were seated as well. The Duke of Myratma began.::

"Sire, please forgive this intrusion of your festivities. However a matter of the upmost gravity is at hand. Your Majesty, as of one hour ago your own cousin, El Presidente de Mexico, was forced into hiding as his government and capital came under attack. ::With a nod from the Duke, the lights dimmed and a series of slides illustrating the situation was shown.:: Sire, the entire country is inflamed by the rebellion of radical leftists, their only goal your cousins posistion. Additionally, forces of the Upper Xenians have made open support of the rebellion. Their leftist interference in your familys policy must not be tolerated! As a matter of fact, their support has allowed the revolution almost to take the capital. Therefore I have drawn up your Council of State, to determine what course of action should be taken. ::With that, the Duke turned the table over to Marquis Ithmong.::

"Sire, as you know Mexico is our greatest trading partner. Aside from the service programs we provide to its population, your cousins benevolence afforded us oil, coal, silver and rubber at 1/3 of the market rate. Needless to say, Sire, if we loose our ally in Mexico to these rebels, we will be at a major disadvantage economically, internationally."

"Your Majesty," said the Cardinal Prince of Darromar "these rebels will destroy the posisition of The Church in Mexico. The Holy Father reminds you, that as a defender of the faith, you must preserve the status of Mother Chruch in Mexico." With devout simplicity, it was the Cardinal who won the King over.

"Very Well, then. For God and country, we will assist my august cousin." With a nod of the regal head, the King inclined his view to the Field Marshal and the Admiral. "How soon can we mobilize?"

Field Marshal Hhune smiled. "Sire" he said "to combat this insurgency in Mexico, Admiral Tarrock and I have devised a simple and workable plan."
::A screen came down in front of the table, a detailed multi media map of mexico displayed:: "We will dispatch a small army, consisting of five light infantry regiments of the Royal Army,and their support companies, to beach and storm the city of Cancun on Mexico's Pacific side. With support from the Second Pacific Fleet, composed of the Battlecruisers HMS Vigilance and HMS Cutter, Light Cruiser HMS Redoubt and several transport ships, we will provide a beachhead to accomplish such. Now, Sire, once Cancun is ours, we will rendevous with mercenary allies the White Hand ( one full division to be parachuted in from Columbia) and advance to retake the capital, restoring order to your cousins land at what we expect to be among Royal Army Infantry very low casualty rates."

The King grinned. "Well then, hop to it. We must not let my cousin be subject to these vagabonds!" With that he stood, his ministers bowed, and he went back to the party.

News of the relief effort was broadcast internationally. The naval squadren ferried five regiments of Royal Infantry, drawn from the finest corps of men, the Flaming Fist, to the Mexican City of Cancun. The two battlecruisers, one light cruiser, and 6 transports sped across the night sea to Mexico, their crews under general quarters. They would arrive at destination in less than 48 Hours.::

Merida (XNS)- Today, Eduardo Alvarez, newly proclaimed President of the Free Republic of Mexico, has announced that the Elkazorian threat is "merely another paper tiger, come to destroy our rights. The Elkazorians will not succeed, and their puppet will not stay. We will not harm the Church-in fact, our newly appointed Interior Minister is himself a Monsignor. These accusations are baseless, intolerable lies."

Alvarez has called upon all forces in Quintana Roo and Yucatan provinces to "resist the liars that come to our shores. You have the resources, and the skills! Fight them!"

President Lew reacted to this intervention with dismay.

"I have assurances that once our allies in Mexico take over, they will not harm the Church or any other such institutions without evidence of criminal activity. The NLP is merely trying to secure their natural rights which they have been so long denied."

"We will remain resolute. Our forces will not leave Mexico City, or Mexico itself until the citizens there are free from tyranny."

To prove his point, the President has announced the deployment of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Regiments of Korean Auxilaries, the deployment of the whole of the Pacific Fleet, and the 15th and 25th Armored Cavalry divisions plus the 145th, the 34th and the 78th Air Squadrons to reinforce the strong Xenizen presence in South Central Mexico.

At last report, Xenizen forces have taken Mexico City after 10 weeks of hard street fighting, and have forced the government to escape to Monterrey. NLP forces have taken Oaxaca province, and are currently besieging Veracruz with Valkiri MRLS rocket fire and G6 artillery.

Not to sound whiny, but look at my claims on the Phoenix Militia's "Real NS RL Nation Claims thread." Multiple holdings are quite common, and my claim to Mexico is there. I just needed to RP it, that's all.

Veracruz City (AP)- Today, Forces of the 1st BN Korean Auxilaries and the NLP Emiliano Zapata battalion have entered the outskirts of the City of Veracruz.

In the meantime, President Alvarez of the Free Mexican gov't flew to Mexico City with his cabinet and Congress to take power.

At a stirring speech at the President's mansion, he declared that "Today is a great day for all Mexicans. Whether a Chiapan or a Sonoran, my government will vow to protect the rights of all. We are not sectionalists. We are not bloody Communists, or Fascists. We are simply people trying to make changes."

"My first executive order as president is to mobilize all available citizens to defend the liberated areas. We are under threat from the Elkazorian Navy and Army, and we must stand up to defend our motherland. The Xenizens are brave, but we cannot rely solely on them to fight. Such behavior would be not graciousness, but theft. Help our Xenizen brothers who have come to free us, and join them in battle."

"My second order is that all members of the old regime, particularly from the Police, are to be arrested and tried in a lawful manner. Though they are our enemies, we must treat them with honor-they are men, too. There is to be no mob violence, and I urge those rioting to stop. We must not taint the Democratic Revolution with excess blood."

"Now my brothers and sisters, though we celebrate, there is still much to do. Elkazor threatens us with monarchist domination. The Northern States have not yet been liberated. "Fight for a Free Mexico!!!"

::The Second Pacific fleet came in sight of Cancun, the clock readng 3:00 a.m.. Initally, there had been navigational errors, the location of Cancun (it seems) was not well know to his Grace, the Duc de Ereson, who preferred the minuet to voyages. However, due to the tact and skill of the lower officers (albeit after a seventy-two hour delay) the fleet made its way through the Panama Canal, and at full steam transgressed the Carribean.::

::The Duc turned to Commodore Sir Gevis, the both of them staring at the tranquil lights of Cancun. The fleet had now posistioned itself, the men of war preparing a bombardment and the transports preparing to launch the landing teams. After producing a flask from his magnificent uniform and taking several pulls, de Ereson nodded.::

"Commodore, you may commence fire." ::With that, the Duc set his ornamented binoculars to his eyes. The Commodore waved his hand,
and the trumpet sounded.::

::Several seconds later, the hitherto peaceful night was shattered by the screaming of shells and the flashes of the batteries. Sa-12 napalm rockets lept up from their tubes like fireflys. Cancun, within moments, was ablaze. The napalm immolated blocks at a time, the shells burst like the sun for a moment, before the earth was torn asunder. The city, taken unawares, was in chaos. This profound wave of concussions lasted five solid hours.::

::At 8:00 a.m. in the morning the landing boats went ashore. They brimmed over with five regiments of the Flaming Fist, of the Elkazorian Royal Army. Resistance to landing, due to the massive naval onslaught, was scattered and sporadic, in other words totally ineffectual; mainly composed of psuedo-militia armed with only civilian weaponry. The heavy infantry stormed the white sand beach, machines guns blazing. By noon, Cancun International Airport was secured. Rebel forces were forced to retreat to the cities outlying areas, their tenacity no match for the supereb Elkazorian Naval support. The Flaming Fist had earned their reputation, and had in one morning secured the vital areas of Cancun.::

::With the beaches secured, the Fleet made harbor, offloading their cargo of munitions and supplies. The Duc de Ereson landed, a military band playing upon his arrival, struck a pose (foot on the corpse of a freedom fighter), and the cameras took their photos. By late afternoon, a full division of White Hand mercenaries parachuted into Cancun Airport, linking up with their employers, the Elkazorian Royal Army. King Alemander's men had entered the Mexican conflict, and His Majesty's cousin would soon be back in office.::

ELKAZOR TAKES CANCUN

This morning, forces of the Elkazorian Royal Army and Navy are reported to have heavily shelled and invested the resort port city of Cancun--adding another page to the already heated story of the war racked nation.

"His Majesty Alemander XI has resolved to stop the usurpation of His cousins office" said Elkazorian Minister of State the Duc de Myratma "and the Kingdom of Elkazor will no longer stand by and idly watch the nation of Mexico be subverted and conquered by marxist revolutionaries, recieving blatantly illegal support from the juntas of Upper Xen."

King Alemander XI, learning of the victorious landing, ordered a Te Deum Mass to be sung in the Royal Chapel, attended by the Royal Family and Court Nobility. Afterwards, His Royal Majesty deigned to give a brief address to the jubiliant crowd.

"We have, by the grace of Almighty God, taken a great step in halting this revolutionary tide. And we shall never rest, while our kinsmen and his lawfully elected government is besieged by these grotesque terrorists."

Additionally, according to INS sources, the Vatican endorsed Elkazors actions due to the fact King Alemander XI has said he will grant the Church their own lands, free from Mexican governmental and social interference. Other, more substantial, concessions to the Church in Mexico have reportedly been made, but both the Vatican and Zazesspur remain silent on the subject.

Finally, the Elkazorian Ministry of War has published a series of demands, forded to both the Embassies of Upper Zen and phampheleted in mass over the Mexican countryside and city scapes, in which they declare:

Be it known, by His Majesty Alemander XI, by the Grace of God King of Elkazor and Defender of the Faith, the following-

Mexico is to forthwith return control of the government to President Delgado, and to restore all officials to their previous offices. Upper Xen is to remove all troops and civilians from Mexico, forswearing never to interfere in internal Mexican affairs again. You have 5 days to correspond. Failure to do so will result in-

1) All rebels (including but not limited to= soldiers, politicians, legal officials and teachers) found will be assumed guilty, and they will be immediatley and summarily executed.

2) All forces of Upper Xen captured will be immediatley placed in a state of bondage, and transported to labor camps.

3) Civilians supporting the revolution will be assumed guilty of rebellion, and they will be immediatley and summarily executed.

Additionally-

4) If Presidente Delgado is harmed in any way, shape or form, there will be brutal reprisals against the citizens of Mexico.

The Duc de Ereson landed, a military band playing upon his arrival, struck a pose (foot on the corpse of a freedom fighter), and the cameras took their photos. By late afternoon, a full division of White Hand mercenaries parachuted into Cancun Airport, linking up with their employers, the Elkazorian Royal Army. King Alemander's men had entered the Mexican conflict, and His Majesty's cousin would soon be back in office.::

ELKAZOR TAKES CANCUN

This morning, forces of the Elkazorian Royal Army and Navy are reported to have heavily shelled and invested the resort port city of Cancun--adding another page to the already heated story of the war racked nation.

"His Majesty Alemander XI has resolved to stop the usurpation of His cousins office" said Elkazorian Minister of State the Duc de Myratma "and the Kingdom of Elkazor will no longer stand by and idly watch the nation of Mexico be subverted and conquered by marxist revolutionaries, recieving blatantly illegal support from the juntas of Upper Xen."

King Alemander XI, learning of the victorious landing, ordered a Te Deum Mass to be sung in the Royal Chapel, attended by the Royal Family and Court Nobility. Afterwards, His Royal Majesty deigned to give a brief address to the jubiliant crowd.

"We have, by the grace of Almighty God, taken a great step in halting this revolutionary tide. And we shall never rest, while our kinsmen and his lawfully elected government is besieged by these grotesque terrorists."

Additionally, according to INS sources, the Vatican endorsed Elkazors actions due to the fact King Alemander XI has said he will grant the Church their own lands, free from Mexican governmental and social interference. Other, more substantial, concessions to the Church in Mexico have reportedly been made, but both the Vatican and Zazesspur remain silent on the subject.

Finally, the Elkazorian Ministry of War has published a series of demands, forded to both the Embassies of Upper Zen and phampheleted in mass over the Mexican countryside and city scapes, in which they declare:

At last report, a force of B-70Mk1 Valkiryes was reported to be surging towards Cancun from Hawaii. In additon, the Santa Anna and Benito Juarez Divisions of the Free Mexican Army, and the 2nd Korean Auxiliaries Battalion, and the 15th Armored Cavalry Division have been ordered to prevent the breakout of enemy forces from Cancun. In addition, Navy and Marine aircraft, plus the F16UX and F-22's of the 78th Air Squadron began to bombard Elkazorians in the city with napalm and conventional guided bombs.

In the North, Veracruz was taken by Free Mexican and Xenizen forces. Currently, an offensive into Guadalajara has been launched by elements of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Unit, the 78th Infantry "Alexander Nevsky" and forces of the Free Mexican Army, and Allied forces have reached the outskirts of town, though they have met some resistance.

Cancun (AP)- Today, 18 B-70mk1 Valkiryes from Hawaii bombarded Elkazorian forces in Cancun with MOAB's and Fuel Air Munitions.

ELKAZOR STEPS UP WAR EFFORT

Cancun-Mexico

The Elkazorian Royal has been forced to dig in here in Cancun. The Flaming Fist Regiments reside in bunkers while the city is pounded flat, unable to advance for fear of going into the scorched open. Anti-Aircraft batteries have reportedly shot down many enemy bombers and escorts, and prevent them for destroying the Elkazorian entrenchments, but still the attacks come. What was once a lush resort city is now a bunkered, entrenched and flaming hell, littered with the twisted bodies of dead civilians. The Duc de Ereson has requested for more support saying "without those enemy aircraft gone, all we can do is dig in and hold Cancun."

Trapped in the city with the Flaming Fist is the First Division of the White Hand. The commando elements of the mercenaries are reported to have slipped through the bombed lines and are reported to be blowing up civilian housing in Merida, sending the city into panic.

However, today, Elkazor has declared war on Upper Xen itself, His Majesty Alemander XI calling for complete mobilization of the Royal Military.

"God will be our only judge" said the King, on his way to attend Mass.

A Third Pacific Fleet tonight has left Zazesspur harbor. It includes four Monarch-Class battleships: HMS Alemander II, HMS Obdure, HMS Lion and the HMS Mhoaran IV. These massive ships, loaded down with canon and missles, constitute the cream of the Elkazorian Royal Navy. They escort another squadren of transports, rumored to be carrying the full ten regiments of the Golden Legion heavy infantry. They proceed to storm Mazatlan, under orders to open a second front and begin the drive to the capital. There ETA is about 29 hours.

Things are chaotic here in the Zazesspur, military convoys block the streets. Due to the Duc de Eresons need for immediate relief from enemy air attacks, High Command has sent a detachment of airplanes to provide the immediate aid. Indeed, as I speak, overhead a entire Wing of Mirage 45-Es fighter/bomber aircraft of the RAF make their way to Cancun International Airport, to aid in the Ducs breakout.

Finally, we have heard scattered reports that a second division of White Hand Mercenary troops, working for the Royal Army, has parachuted into the Panama Canal region from Columbia. Reportedly they have seized vital areas of the Canal, deploying artillery and AA units to secure this vital link to Elkazors Pacific Front.

Guadalajara (AP)- With the aid of Free Mexican Irregulars, Xenizen troops have taken the territories of Jalisco, Queretaro, Hildago, and Guanajuato after a bloody and tough offensive that claimed 1,000 Xenizens and 1,200 Free Mexicans. Aided by B-70mk1 Valkirye high-altitude bombers capable of supersonic flight and Tomahawk missiles from the Navy, the campaign, "Operation Villa" took several months to complete, with Allied troops clearing out Royalist forces in the Central territories of Mexico and fighting epic battles for Leon, Pachuca and Guadalajara.

Also, at last report, naval units of the Pacific Fleets, especially the submarine Gordon Freeman, were seen to be engaging the Elkazorian Fleet off the coast of Mazatlan, attacking the battleships HMS Alemander II and HMS Mhoaran IV, as well as pouring cannon fire and sending F-35's to attack transports close to Mazatlan.

"This is a great day for Mexico," said President Alvarez in Mexico City. "We have liberated the center, and now, we have only the North and the Elkazorians to fight."

Also, the President has announced that to ensure the further security of Free Mexico, B-70mk1 supersonic bombers and B-52H's, plus at least 12 Zheng He SSBNs and several Seawolf and Virginia SSNs will be based in Mexico. At last report, they have left Pearl Harbor, due for Puerto Vallarta.
