Today, 12th of November 2004, Commander-General Vlad Pryde announced the full reorganization of The Armed Military State's Military might. Gone are the days of infantry divisions doing huge jobs. Now, BattleMechs will fullfill that role, and bring a new face to the front of war and homeland security.
"Today is a great day for our nation's history," says the General, speaking to hundreds of thousands of screaming and adoring people attending the annual Military Parade in Tharkad, the National Capital of The Armed Military States. "No longer will we have to fear from oppression from those countries whom would seek to do us harm. Our factories are turning out a hundred BattleMechs nation wide each day, and our naval assets and Space Forces are doubling as I speak. By God's will, we will become a force to be reconed with in the Known Galaxy. We must also use this time to stregthen ties to allies and bring enemies to the Table of Peace. Such is the Will of the Government."
Although BattleMechs will walk the field of battle from henceforth on, this does not mean that Infantry Divisions are completely gone as well. Quite on the contrary, since the Parade, voluntary enlistments have more than doubled; gathering more people in three days than all the total enlistments nationally in the past three months.
Says Field Marshal Thomas Steiner-Green, commander, Department of Military Administration, "We expect our people to embrace this reform with open arms and support our new troops in any capacity possible. Although Infantry Divisions have been moved aside just a bit, they are by no means out of the picture completely. We are very confident and excited about the future of our Nation and planet."
By far, some of the biggest talk of the past few days, was that of Vlad Pryde giving up his "Commander-General" title, and reverting back to the ancient, but no less respect-demanding, title of Achon-Prince. Among his rank change, came a complete change of the Rank Structure within the AMS's military:
