Enrico ben Salazar, the former Fascist dicator of Descolada:

After the revolution in my country I find myself without a country to live in, at least temporarily. I am appealing to fellow fascist nations to allow me to live in your country, at least temporarily. I have many supporters in the nation of Descolada and I may be able to reassert my rule ... but I need a haven. Any support would be gratefully appreciated and a healthy donation in return for such kindness can be made.

I am of Portuguese descent, as are millions of Descoladans. Virtually all Descoladans are of European descent ... there are about one million indiginous peoples but we don't bother with them very much. While ethnically Portuguese, my family belonged to the Jewish faith, although I do not practice it myself.

Ben Salazar sat down to his evening meal, a nice steak with an exquisite wine grown in the vineyards of Plataea, served with matzoh. Although he was never noted for his religiosity and was in fact, agnostic, ben Salazar had always respected Jewish traditions, at least to an extent. The former dictator had not yet found an appropriate lodging, but life in hiding had been surprisingly plush.

He was hiding on Missoloughi, where the essentially agrarian people had considerable affection for Salazar, who had come from that island himself. They were not as yet convinced of the benefits of democracy such as existed on Plataea and the northern islands. If he was to retake Descolada, it would start here.

But he would need time and resources to plot a political comeback. And a truly safe haven to await the fruition of his plans.

Your offer is respectfully declined. I would like to live in a country in which I am not regarded as inferior. This being said, I hope that we can maintain at least cordial relations.
