In a unanomous decision today, the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet issued the "Political Crime Statue" (the Supreme Soviet itself will not be in session for another two months.). This act came at the behest of the Politburo of the Communist Party, under our supreme leader, the General Secretary, Comrade Ilya Lekov. Surprisingly, this new decree has also been issued a year after the so-called "Great Purges".
In an interview, Comrade Lekov stated that the act was important, because a "legal definition of political crime is needed in the hopes of staying true to the teachings of Comrade Stalin, who himself was an orthodox Marxist-Leninist. As our departed comrade once said: 'Socialism in one country.'"
The law defines Political Crime as "High Treason of the highest form: both against the state and Marxism-Leninism itself." It goes on to say that "All those guilty of this most hanous crime should be reported immediantly, as is our comradly duty. The KGB alone should have full jurisdiction in dealing with these criminals, and trial should only be allowed to the Nomenklatura, to set an example to all."
"Political crime shall, as it always has, carry the sentance of arrest, imprisonment, torture (until the enemy of the state recants and/or names others), and finally execution by shooting. Criminals shall immediantly loose the status of comrades, and if they are members of the Communist Party, be purged from their membership entirely."
"The following shall be treated as political crimes: Practicing religion, subscribing to Trotskyism, Menshivikism, Leftism, Capitalism, or any other ideologies other than that of Marxism-Leninism, as Stalin interpreted. Participating in grossly un-stalinist behavior shall put a person on suspicion as well. All other forms of high treason, such as spying shall also be considered political crime. Speaking out against the government and not reporting political crimes to the KGB will likewise be treated as crimes against the people and state, and thus political crimes."
Already this new act has been dubbed the 'legitimization of the great purges.' by a few Party members, though they have since disapeared from their homes.
Meanwhile, Comrade Lekov, our supreme leader, who holds the posts of "General Secretary of the CPT and Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet and Defense Council." celebrated the event by signing the act into law, and then appearing in a rally today in the Red Square, publically announcing that this new act will 'press Marxism on into the new era'.
