Red Bricksland, Wrigleyivy--
The First Presidential Elections took place yesterday, and the Intriem President Basher Santo, seen as a moderate by man, won. He defeated the right wing conservative Lance Rheat, and the socialist canidate Henry Rodriguez. A run-off election in Wrigleyivy is between 3 canidates.
After a fierce campaign Intriem President Santo hung on by capturing 43.63% of the vote, Rheat recieved 42.18%, and Rodriguez recieved 14.19%.
Santo gave his acceptance speech and said, "I am glad the citizens of of Wrigleyivy choose to have me in office for 3 years. It feels great. Though, I didn't recieve a majority of the vote, and I must work together with all citizens of Wrigleyivy."
Rheat said, "It was a great run and we fell short, but we will be back in 2007!" He also said that he hopes he can work together as a High Rep. with the President.
Rodriguez said, "The Socialist pary will gain strength, as time goes on. I also want to give my congrats to the President, and hope we can work together with him." Rodriguez is the govenor of Shefield, a province in Wrigleyivy.
The President will serve 3 years before he is up for re-election, and he can possibly serve two more terms after.
The overall mood of all was happy, even though their canidates might not have won, the citizens were happy that they had their first presidential elections.
