Hrstrovokia

SeaPorts. Artificial ports, constructed on the oceans and seas of the world by man. From the Atlantic to the Pacific. Capable of conducting trade and staging military forces. Deep in international waters, outside of anyones jurisdiction.
The first SeaPort is due to be constructed in the Baltic sea. This is considered the first prime location, it's close proximity from Hrstrovokia's Polish and Kalningrad shores a favourable factor in bringing about it's construction. Just 40km off-shore.
It would be a mammoth task, a true challenge to human ingenuity. And Hrstrovokian Engineers, Scientists and Construction personnel were ready. Code-named "Mermaid 23" SeaPort Baltic would be built like a massive off-shore oil platform. An island of concrete and steel.
Over 40km in breadth and 70km in length, it's facilities would include a port, naval base, nuclear power-plants, drydock, maintenance and repair shops, communications stations, barracks, airstrip, factories, refueling stations, small human settlement, stores, construction yards, subpen and a menacing host of 200mm cannon batteries and a 300mm railgun aswell as A2DN-5s long-range air defense missiles.
It could be capable of hosting 100,000 troops, 7,000 support, technical and worker personnel, could hold 80 aircraft and 20 large ships and 4 submarines. It could repair and rearm all of these forces.
It would be assembled mostly onland, piece by piece, in the cities of Warsaw and Poznan and carried hundreds of miles to the port of Gdansk on special constructed truck-platforms. It would provide thousands of jobs and stimulate the economy, and though it wasnt essential for the economy, it was certainly a benefit to the unemployed.
It was to be a historic achievement of the Hrstrovokian people. A victory to socialism. It would guard the gateways to our lands. Prove our worth as a nation. And it was just the beginning. Another SeaPort was planned for the Atlantic. This base would desirably lift Hrstrovokia into a global strategic position hegemony. It would allowed Hrstrovokia to be 'anywhere'.
At a cost of more than 1.8 Trillion Gil, if the project was unsuccessful it would bankrupt Hrstrovokia, plunge it into depression, incite social dissatisfaction and unrest and probably bring down the socialist empire of over 3 billion people.
It's ambitious. And construction is due to begin next week.
