Secret IC-

For the last few years, Mississippian Special Air Assault Squads (MSAAS) had been training Boers and English Afrikaners in weapons use, military tactics, and basically working to whip an estimated nine thousand Boers and other South African whites into shape for an eventual Boer coup against the government. There were to be nine regiments (1000 in each) of locally raised Volunteer Guard, supported by sixteen regiments (1000 in each) of foreign Volunteer Guard (Mostly from Mississippian Egypt)

There were four platoons of MSAAS already operating in the Kalahari desert. They were to provide the first strike, a decapitating blow against the South African ANC (African National Congress) government in Pretoria and Cape Town. While the native Boer regiments would assault Johannesburg, East London, Durban, and Bloemfontein.

All of the Mississippian operatives or soldiers that were taking part in the operation would be totally without identification and without any form of insignia, even without weapons that could be linked to Mississippi or the Commonwealth. They didn't want to carry only non-Mississippian weapons for fear it would seem they were going out of their way to look Non-Mississippian. So they had an assortment of AKMS, M-16s, M-14Bs, SKSs, any and all rifles, a wide variety. Their ATGMs were mostly MILANs and TOWs, their AA weaponry was mostly Stingers and SA-17s.

If things got too dicey for them, they would be supproted by air support from 400 Volunteer Guard fighter craft and 500 of the VG's attack helicopters.

The VG also stood ready to send in an additional ten regiments of soldiers, including one armored and two mechanized divisions, to help the effort if necessary.

If absolutely necessary, ten Mississippian and five Commonwealth parachute divisions would suit up in local SA VG uniforms, having no links to the Federation or the Commonwealth, and then they would proceed to parachute into South Africa and Namibia to help the rebellion.

Given the disparities of the forces assembled, their training levels, and the fact that between 1/3 and 1/2 of all South African government soldiers was sick with HIV/AIDS and had a greatly reduced combat effectiveness, it was slated that the "Conventional War" would last no longer than three weeks if adequate support was provided to the rebels.

After that, there would come a mopping up phase which would last at most, six months.

The white VG units had already decided on a government, they were going to make their leaders, two loyal Boers, who were working with the VG. One would be the Prime Minister, the other, the President.

The Prime Minister was going to be Johaanes Stahlecker, a cousin to Hans Stahlecker, father of Paul Stahlecker.

The President was to be one of three choices, each was a VG general, but it wasn't yet decided which one to pick.

Both of the two Volunteer Guard aircraft carriers sat fifty miles outside of South African waters, supposedly on joint-maneuvers with Madagascaran naval forces.

The operation would soon begin...

My intelligence teams tell me that there are Fabus carriers near South Africa. May I ask why? Also, they inform me that there are growing numbers of Volunteer Guard units in South Africa. Planning something?

(Well for now, but how long can a revolution remain quiet? A few minutes, hours at the most... Most that have any sort of media/relations with South Africa/intelligence there will know soon)

Throughout South Africa and Namibia, the nine regiments of locally raised Volunteer Guard had risen up and begun to assault against their objectives, key beaches and airfields, as the sixteen regiments of foreign Volunteer Guard were readying to land on the beaches and airfields.

It had been determined necessary that the Volunteer Guard launch attacks against South African airbases with their aircraft based off of their two carriers, each with 50 F-14Ds, 15 F/A 18 Hornets, and 20 Rafale Ms. The attacks would be launched almost immediately as the uprising began. Thus the planes were already in the air and inbound to their targets.

It was going to be an intense first few hours.

I'm an adult, I'm in college, and I have a good idea what apartheid was about (cultural preservation of both races, and protection of demographics shifting against whites) I also happen to have an idea that the "Neo-apartheidists" (AWB) are mostly neo-nazis, who would support this effort.

I ask that you leave any and all threads of mine, as you are no longer welcome to post either IC or OOC in any of them. Further posting in my threads will result in my reporting you for trolling / flamebaiting.

Ooc- I shall reply to this, then we are done talking, and if you wish to reply, do it over IM or TG. Since I have never RPed with all of NS, NS being over 115,000. IC (semi-secret, but really, who won't know about this, if you have a satellite aimed at southern Africa)

The air strikes had gone well enough, general panic and confusion had been sown amongst the civilian populations of Johannesburg, Soweto, Pretoria, Bloemfontein, Durban, Cape Town, and other cities. The result being the people were flooding out of the cities, clogging the roads. Thus making mobilizing and moving armed forces incredibly difficult.

In Namibia however, things were not going quite as well, and so it was decided that two brigades (5,000 each) of Mississippian Egyptian Commonwealth Parachute Infantry, wearing paramilitary clothing, would jump in and help the two regiments of VG seize Windhoek and Luderitz. The men were readying in Argentina, soon they'd get in their C-17s and head for Namibia...

Ooc- In my RP world, nobody really owns Argentina, except the Argentines of course! It's a pro-Mississippian right-wing government that rules it. This is touched upon in my 1984 storyline, it fits in with the history of my nation.

Hogsweat- thanks for the fun fact, 900,000 wow..

TFU- I didn't want to have to tell you, but I sort of ignore you IC wise...

Still ooc- I still need somebody to be the South African and Namibian governments/militaries. Who will take on the job of being an army that is 1/2 infected with AIDs, and is suffering from massive budget cuts, racial tensions (black enlisted hate white officers, vice versa), ethnic tensions (xhosa hate the zulu, vice versa), and is basically lacking a credible air force... Who wants to take on that role?

Meanwhile, the Second Pacific Fleet had responded to reports of intensive bombings of South African military emplacements. Of course, they had no conclusive proof as to the indentity of the transgressors, but satellite imaging had given them a damned good idea. A few carriers of their own should be enough to disuade any further bombings of a soverign nation.

Whilst the Pacific Fleet was making inroads towards South Africa, a far more substantial force was being prepared in Momanguise proper. The MPSA regiments were mobilised, and several Peoples Militia divisions were drafted. Warfare in Africa, a first, but probably not a last.

The Volunteer Guard naval forces near South Africa, a full 1/2 of the entire VG Navy, decided it would be prudent to intercept the Momanguise naval forces which were obviously steaming for South Africa.

They immediately dispatched the following to head for the approaching Momanguise naval forces.

2 Curtis Fabus Battleships, 15 Stalin Class Frigates, 15 Hitler Class Destroyers, 8 Seawolf Submarines.

Leaving the rest of their naval units present to guard the 2 Super Carriers:

(What is then left nearby)
20 troop transports (each contains 1 VG regiment of reinforcements, to be landed if the 25 regiments already in SA and Namibia, need help)
2 Fabus Super Carriers
2 Seawolf Submarines
5 Stalin Class Frigates
5 Hitler Class Destroyers

The carriers however would each dispatch 20 F-14s to make moves towards the approaching ships.

One of the Volunteer Guard pilots, a young lad of about eighteen, smiled as his F-14 streaked off the end of the carrier, he was going to kill some communists.

He joined his place in the formation and flew off into the distance to take part in the planned attack against the ships fast approaching South Africa.

Agawa nodded, "Yes, Mississippi is on the move again. I just recieved a message from high command. We are not to interfere as of yet. Word is the Emperor doesn't want to get involved unless absolutely necessary. Continue to monitor the situation Lieutenant, if things get too heated, inform me. Then we may need to do something. Blips appeared on the advance radar screens, whilst satelite images were urgently scanned for news of the enemy force movements. The MNF's own Carriers began urgent movement as their own aircraft were launched against the incoming 'bogeys'. The MiA 12's roared from the aquatic runways as the sixty fighter jets moved to intercept the fascists.

The 40 F-14s streaked forward, slicing through the air as they hit their afterburners, readying their cannons and their AIM-15 Kluxer Missiles, the F-14 combat systems were such that each one could simulatenously engage no less than 6 separate enemy aircraft, locking on a missile to each. The pilots started to make preparations as to who would take what targets. They'd be putting a total of 320 AIM-15s on course for the approaching fighters. Surely, it was going to be a bloody fight however it turned out.

They were going to have to pull off the maneuver fast, before the enemy had time to respond and get a lock on them. It was going to be close.

The F-14s immediately executed their planned maneuver, half of them stayed low, the other half rose high, high, very high, breaking through the clouds and climbing closer and closer to the sun, stopping at just over fifty thousand feet.

The planes above the waves were finally within 150 kms of the ships, they'd fire their exocets soon, soon they would send death gliding through the air towards the communist beasts.

The planes high up above the clouds were readying to dive on the momanguise planes as they themselves attempted to dive on the other F-14s, they'd hope to catch them off-guard, and kill them with AIM-15s and 20mm cannons.
Momanguise
11-11-2004, 16:52
Of course this action had not gone unobserved. As the great yawning missile delivery tubes aboard the ships prepared to launch a devastating blow against the diving planes. As for the second group, twenty of them hovered ready to catch the falling planes whilst the other forty tipped their noses, ready for a dive against the G forces and against the enemy. It was a risky procedure, but it had been calculated that the covering power of the fleet coupled with the extensive training of these veteran pilots would prevail.

11-11-2004, 16:59
The 20 F-14s above the waves suddenly reached 60 kilometers, they fired their Exocet missiles and quickly turned to attempt to jet away at maximum speed.

The 20 F-14s in the air dove to intercept the planes moving to attempt to intercept the F-14s above the waves. Suddenly all hell broke loose, missiles and cannons started going off, rockets flying through the air, missiles flying towards ships, missiles flying towards planes.

F-14s started dropping from the sky in balls of flames, pilots ejecting, cannons continuing to roar, Momanguise planes strafing VG planes, and VG planes strafing Momanguise planes. It was sheer and utter carnage.
Momanguise
11-11-2004, 17:03
The battle was joined. As the force of fourty jets fell upon twice their number below, they fired masses of AAM's, strafing with the cannons as in superior numbers they began to overwhelm the enemy. Above that melee, the over group was not faring so well. Equal in number, but inferior in quality, the fighters were suffering losses. Three jets spiralled down to the ocean bellow, the piolts dead. Another jetosend, only to be riddled with bullets.
Decisive Action
15-11-2004, 00:07
After the missiles and cannons were depleted, 20 of the F-14s were limping back to their carriers, 10 of the others had been destroyed, taking their pilots with them, and 10 others had managed to bail out, of which 8 of the pilots were alive and in the water. A VG cruiser and two destroyers along with small patrol craft, were coming into the area to look for the downed pilots.

15-11-2004, 10:35
The fighters had tasted blood, and it was only the barked orders from Admiral Fenet that prevented them screaming after the hated foe as they fled, their force in ruins. The jets fired one last salvo of missles after the retreating planes, and returned triumphant to awaiting fleet. Fiery debates raged inside the officers mess aboard the TPS Indomitable, but it was eventually decided to head off the approaching ship that the enemy had sent to collect their dead. They would survive, but as prisoners of war. The whole fleet moved out to confront the single, solitary ship.

(Basically just Exocets with longer range, better tracking abilities, and a slightly more powerful warhead)

The missiles began to sreak out of their launchers and headed out towards the Momanguise fleet, they'd be approaching with ten miles in a few minutes, the Momanguise ships would soon detect them.

The divisions, 1st Marine, 2nd Marine, and 1st Infantry, each consist of 2000 soldiers and officers, with support detachments of 500 men each, giving the U.S. proxies in Africa a nominal strength of 6000 regulars and 1500 support.

They will be supported by the Somalia Air Wing, a USS Defense Force unit stationed in the Somalia bases.

OOC- DA, I am not quite clear on the status of these two African countries. Do you completely control them, or is the fighting ongoing?

The 5th Mercenary Robert stared out the window of his C-17 Globemaster Transport at the Marine convoys below as they wound their way to South Africa. "First time flying?" the pilot asks. "Nope, first time flying into battle".
He then sits back and wonders about his boys, and how many of them will die in service to the First Mercenary.

Sorry, Just had to RP once to say I did it. Won't get involved again without request. If you want me to just telegram Armed Mercs.

The Mississippian satellite and ship based anti-missile systems that had range, and were online, readied to intercept as many of the missiles that they could. A few dozen ships had anti-missile capabilities, and a few satellites happened to be in such orbits that they had the ability to stop some of the missiles. They would fire up shortly.

On the ground the Patriots, Sa-19s, and Sa-20s were coming online and readying to go to work.
