On Board the BattlecruiserR.S.S. Swinghammerover the Planet of Helioc III

Unidentified Planet spotted, sir. Please report to the bridge immediatly said the black box in Captain H.R. Weilli's quarters. After grumbling for a few minutes about how he wished he could destroy the intercomm, he jumped into the shower for a minutes and got dressed in his uniform. He then turned the knob to his door(he had it for the sake of class, although all it did was stick out like a sore thumb) and began to walk towards the bridge. When he arrived, he looked out the window at the lush planet below him. It was all very nice, but he didnt see how it affected him. "Well, is this all you wanted to show me?" he said angrily to the bridge commander. The man then opend up a computer program that portrayed the planet exactly. It then zoomed in on a area of the planet which was on the side opposite of the one the ship was on. After closser inspection, the commander gasped. "My god..." he exclaimed. "Turn this ship around! Send word to New Mass! We have a cerebrate here!" he ordered. As the men began following his orders, the warning siren went off. Warning, warning. Zerg Forces approaching. Defence Sequence Initiated.

The swarm of Zerg appeared as if out of nowhere. Hundreds of ships fired on the cruiser, launching acidic projectiles at the hull. The cruiser deployed the 20 Wraiths in its hull, but even cloaked they were shot-down in a matter of minutes. "Give it all you got men!" the Captain shouted while manning a turret like most of his men. "You there! Jason! Send word to HQ that we're under attack and we're going down! I repeat, send word to HQ that we're under attack and we're going down!" He ordered his radioman, who followed his orders instantly. Critical Damage sustained. Crash Inevitable, brace for impact. said the computers calm voice. "You heard the 'bot, men! Brace for impact!" shouted the commander as he took cover. As the ship spiraled towards the grassy planet, the captain only wished that the warning made it through.

Lieutenat Larry McPhearson slowly woke from unconsiousness. As he regained thought, he heared the screams of the wounded and the shots that soon followed them made by soldiers attempting to keep the Zerg from discovering them. After a minute, he stood up and looked around. The entire ship was totalled. He saw maybe 200 bodies in the area. That left him with... around 50 men left. He approached an ensign sitting down with a Gauss Rifle in his hands. "Hey, soldier. Where's the commander?" he asked him. The man jumped because he was surprised, but then he realized it wasn't a Zergling going to rip off his head.
"Oh...uh... the Captain died. He was in the section of the ship that crashed into the ground. No survivors." replied the shaky man.
"Then who's in charge?"
"Well, uh, i guess you are sir."
The news hit Larry like a ton of rocks. He had never had controll of more than 14 men. Now the fate of all these men lay in his hands. He sat down in astonishment.
Oh god... im going to lead them all to their deaths... god.... his weak side said.
Snap outta it man! You gotta make sure these men are safe! said his strong side.
You're right! Hurry man, get these men organized! The Zergs will be here by nightfall! agreed the weak side.

After this long monologue with himself, he got up and got the 10 remaining corporals together. "Alright men, this is how its gonna work. 4 of the squads will work on building the defences. 4 other squads will defend them. One squad will inspect the ship and try to salvage what it can. The remaining squad will get 3 hours of rest. We will alternate every 3 hours. Mmmkay?"
"Yes sir!" responded the corporals.
"Ok then, we'd better get to work! The Zerg will be here by night and its already noon! Go go go!"

At the crash site

Ku'rach lay in wait in the forest surrounding the crash site with his fellow Zerglings. The soft-bellies had crashed, and Ku'rach and his brothers, all under the control of the Overlord Garun, had been sent to inspect the site. Surprisingly, the soft-bellies had managed to build defences and organize, so Garun had ordered them to leave. However, the Cerebrate on this planet, Arad, ordered them to attack anyway and to weaken the soft-bellies. All they needed now was the perfect time to strike.

At nightfall, they attacked. The soft-bellies had spotted them and began to open fire, but they were mostly flying soft-bellies. They weren't in those big suits, so they were weaker. The Zerglings had managed to pierce the outer defences and had killed 14 of the soft-bellies when a cry was heard on the horizon. Differend soft-bellies, there ones in the heavy shells and armed with big flashers(guns), had come to rescue the crashed soft-bellies. The Zerg had no chance, but they decided to attack the new Soft-bellies anyhoo. They all died, but at least they managed to kill a few soft-bellies.

Tassadar was supervising the training of his fellow Templar students, when suddenly pictures of extreme violence flashed before him. He shook his head a few times, before making sense of it. He focused on his vision, and images of what happened and where it happened began to appear. "Alledan," he called a nearby Zealot. "order the fleet to gather. Humans are being attacked by a mob of Zerg, and I won't have needless bloodshed."

The small army was rallied, 300 Zealots, 50 Dragoons, 10 Reavers, 600 of the most capable Templar, 150 Scouts and enough Shuttles to transport the land army. Tassadar himself travelled in the Carrier command ship. Soon, they began their travel to hyperspace intent on arriving as soon as possible at the crash site.

OOC: Tassadar shows some signs of mercy towards humans throughout the game. Hence my decision.

In space, not far from Helioc III...

Lieutenant Kyros McGregor was flying with a small squad of 15 Wraiths and one Dropship. It was a raiding/explorer crew, very far from the homeworld: Tiberius Magnus.

He made his Wraith do a tipsy side-spin in the space. The following Wraiths imitated it.

A transmission came:
Lieutenant, be on alert. Zerg have been reported in the area. said the sweet, feminine computer voice.

"Hear that guys?" asked Lt.Kyros, "That means eyes open, and invissy cloaks on." He turned on his cloaking system on, as did the rest of the company. "Dora, can you give me a scan with your sensors? Your dropship's scanner range is farther."

"Sure thing Sir....Scanning...Ack! Zerg scum in-bound! Prepare for battle!" screamed Dora into the commuticator.

Zerg scourge units and mutalisks appeared right on top of the company and started to take out Kyro's men. The cloaked ships spun and fired, but after thundering impacts of zerg scourges, the cloaking systems one by one failed and the ships were again visible.

“Guys, I need some defense over here! A few more hits and I’m down!” shouted Dora as she struggled to keep control over her dropship.

“Give her cover!” shouted Lt.Kyros. The wraith pilots began to form a protective box around the dropship. The ships swerved to free themselves of the zergs. Five of the wraiths abruptly exploded in unison, leaving an open spot for a scourge to set in and pelt the dropship once again.

“Ahh..! Going down!” screamed Dora.

“Go for that nearby planet! The rest of us will hold them off!” shouted Lt.Kyros.

As Dora made a swoopy, uncontrolled descend to the planet, the remaining 10 wraiths held the zerg until their numbers dropped to four, barely flying ships. They made a hasty retreat to join Dora on the surface of the unknown planet.

One of the Readanian observers watches the battle from high above the planet.

The graphics were then transmitted to a Readanian Carrier nearby the planet.

"Sir, I think you should have a look at this." said Templar Gurious to the fleet commander, Commander Fur'thalis, showing him the display.

"Hmmmm, seems come Terran and Zerg have gotten into conflict. Why does this matter to us? The Zerg and Terran have been battling for months!"

"Yes, but this battle is very close to our fleet, sir. Should we not be aware of such immediate threats?"

"I suppose we should. Are you suggesting that we help one of these factions?"

"Well, yes. Aiding the Terran would get rid of the immediate Zerg threat. If the Terran go against us, we could handle them more easily then the horrid Zerg."

"Sounds wise, templar. I suppose we could afford to send off a few squadrons to help the Terran resistance. I believe that this would be a good time for Captain Gal'thas to redeem himself after losing his entire squadron in reconiassonce."

"Are you sure that would be wise? He did lose an entire squadron last time, do you think he can handle three such sqaudrons in this mission?"

"Last time he reported they were overwhelmed by the zerg. I believe this is the only reason for his failure. Captain Gal'thas will lead this assualt. If you could find a more experienced pilot and leader, please tell me!" said the Commander angerly.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Moments later three squadrons left from the nearby Halthos Fleet.
In total their numbers were:

150 Scouts
90 Corsairs
1 Carrier (The Devastator)
2 Arbitrers
40 Shuttles

The shuttles contained:

60 Zealots
5 Reavers
5 Archons
20 Crusaders (Dark Templar)
30 Dragoons

On the surface of Helioc III

Lt.Kyros and his remaining wraith pilots were luckily able to pull off a controlled crash-landing in unison, and were fortunate enough to land safely and relatively close to each other. Getting to Dora's dropship, on the other hand, was a bit more difficult. They had spotted the rising smoke, and it took them almost an hour to hack and blast their way through the trees to the downed ship.

When they arrived, Kyros noticed that the firebat had managed to start a fire (as if it would be difficult for a firebat...)

"You, Corporal, where's the rest?" asked Kyros.

Before the man could answer, a ghost specialist, two SCVs, a medic and two marines walked out from inside the shadowed, mostly intact dropship wreck.

Kyros nodded and he the other three wraith pilots, who were armed with measley pistols, sat on a makeshift log bench.

"Where's Dora?" questioned Kyros.

The look on the survivors faces were answer enough. The medic pointed her thumb to the broken cockpit and mouthed a 'sorry'. Kyros got up and walked to see. When he saw Dora, he turned his head, feeling ill. Her remains were plastered to the seats, cauterized by the searing flame that had been there only an hour before.

The specialist (ghost) walked up, "Sir, it'd be best if we established some sort of defense. It was clear, on our 'trip' to the surface, that this planet, where-ever it is, is completely overrun with zerg. We also recieved bits of terran transmissions. Before we were attacked, the Alexander Space Catamaran forwarded a series of brief, choppy messages, they sounded urgent and they came from this area. We've also recieved bits of broken transmissions, even though our com satellite is busted. It leads me to believe that we may indeed have terran company- at least on this side of this planet."

"Hmm.. good protocal, Specialist. We'll need to establish a bunker and possibly a few turrets. Do you know the terran affiliations? Are they UED?"

"No sir, affiliations are unknown."

"Well.... we'll have to see. If they're UED, we'll have to raid them, and somehow alert the homesystem of their presence. If they are pirates, or rogue militias, maybe we can convince them to temporarily join forces. SCVs!"

"SCV, good to go, sir." said the two.

"We need to establish a base... start to prepare.."

"Captain! We're under attack! The zerg have taken down the Devastator's sheilds!" yelled a young, protoss officer over the loud explosions, "The hul can't take much more! We must either land or abandon this ship later on!"

"Officer! Tell the ground teams to land as close as possible to the nearest Terran force!" ordered Captain Gal'thas. "Keep the corsairs up here to defend the Capital ships! We cannot let them down this ship! If they get the information on this ship, they may be able to decipher the location of the Capitol World!"

"Yes Captain Gal'thas, sir! I'll send the transmition right away!" said the officer dashing over to the com-link panel.

The fleet was under under a heavy barrage of Scourge, Mutalisks and Devourers. The Corsairs managed to annilate most of the Scourages, but some got through and destroyed 10 of the Corsairs and 10 scouts. One of the Arbitrer was taken down and crash landed on the distant planet below, approximately four miles from the RVC crash site. The ground teams were ordered to land there and to see if the crew of the Arbitrer was still alive. Shortly after landing, The Devastator also began to drop out of the sky. Most of the crew abandon ship onto escape pods. The only person who didn't was Captain Gal'thas and his Sacred Guard. The Devastator crashed fairly close to where the other Protoss were to meet, being only about a mile away. Archon Dakor'tal was his temporary replacement until the captain was recovered. Meanwhile, in deep space: the last remaining capital ship, an Arbitrer named The Vengence, was left commanding the remaining space force. The Zerg were starting to relent, so the captain of the ship, Templar Nal'this, ordered most of the scouts to aide the Protoss who, though in enemy territory, were not yet under attack.
--------------------------------------------
After the dust settled, the remaining force was:

110 Scouts
60 Corsairs
The Vengence (1 Arbitrer)
The remains of two crashed capital ships.
40 shuttles

All the ground forces aboard the shuttles made it to the surface, relatively unharmed. Scratches and bruises and a slight lose of dignity was the extent of their damage.

Three hundred Overlords slowly drifted toward the world the Terrans called Helioc III. It was merely a speck of visible light amidst a canvas of black, but the power of Cerebrate Gorak's collective mind was able to pick out details from the thousands of eyes of the Overlord scope. The Overlords were arrayed in a contracting sphere seventy-five thousand kilometers away from the planet, and the telescopic vision of all the overlords provided a nice mental map of the surface for Gorak.

Rough Zerus/English translation:

Planet. Is Helioc III? Yes, it is. Look at the fighters below. Look upon the Terrans. Look upon the Protoss. Look upon the Allies. There are so many, but so few compared to the might of the Zerg. Gorak I am, and all I look upon is mine, is the Overminds. Given orders to assimilate all Terran and Protoss creatures in the hot zone... and should that fail, destroy all hostile life. Given time, the Zerg will do so to the entire galaxy, and I will be there when the Overmind reforms around Kerrigan's essence in the core of a galaxy of Zerg. The thoughts of a galactic consciousness boggle even the distributive intelligence of I, the nature of which allowed the use of all the brains of my Force to think with my own massive cerebrum.

Transmissions. Redirect them to me, Yttargh. The United Defence Org. Many scouts they have, many scouts. Send scourge, let fly two kilounits. Show me their sight, that I may attack more efficiently. You control them, but I control you, always remember that, Yttargh. The scourge will obey my orders as they obey yours. You are merely a tool, and your continued existence and prosperity is all by my control. Send forth two kilounits of scourge, and load holders [Overlords] with twenty-five kilounits of Zerglings. Send them to the world surface to assist ally Daggoth and brother Garun. Ready your Hydralisks and fliers, that they may see death for us and tell us what they see.

Ah, that reminds me, yes. Twenty-five thousand Hydralisks of the seventy-five thousand must mutate en route into their fresh form, the Lurker. Half again of those Lurkers will land, I will allow you to choose opportune locations, and send half the remaining hydralisks to hide with them.

(OCC: Yes, please try to keep up. Might be hard, but you don't have to be that compulsive...)

After fighting of the remainder of the Zerg air assualt, The Vengence led the remaining air units to the ground team to help with the building of their temporary head quarters on this world.
Meanwhile, the Protoss ground forces recovered the only survivor aboard the rather undamaged Carrier, Captain Gal'thas. The other downed ship was found to be completely destroyed, leaving only a few groupings of bodies and wreckage.
The Captain was rushed to the medical bay of The Vengence and Archon Dakor'tal ordered the communication officer aboard the ship to relay a message to the nearby RVC base.

Terran of the RVC,

We are the Readanian Covenant. We ask for an alliance against our common foe at this moment, the Zerg. This will most likely only be temporary, but would be benifical to both of our squadrons. We are located approximately four miles from your crash zone. We are currently not under attack, but have sustained a great deal of casualties trying to get to the surface.

Yttargh, I have another matter I wish you to oversee. I am the Cerebrate Gorak, and all that I look upon is mine, is the Overmind's. The Zerg exist to rule, and I command to ensure that the power of Zerg shall be felt across the galaxy.

The Rebel Vindicator Compact is setting up a base on Helioc III, Yttargh. Helioc has been claimed by Zerg, and Zerg it shall remain. Send forth a probe force onto Helioc.

48 Zerglings, with which to pester their front lines and chew wires, that the Zerg forces shall succeed against little opposition.
24 Hydralisks, that the airships of the Terran horde perish and the fire-breathing infantry be taken out at range.
60 Scourge, that the giant airshipsof the Terran horde fall in flames and death.
1 Ultralisk, that the measly bullets of the Terran firearms bounce off its flesh, that the walls of the base be battered by its tusks.
1 Defiler, that should the Ultralisk fail, the walls will melt and seethe with plague.
3 Queens, that the Command Center be infested and as many Terrans captured as possible.
60 Overlords, with which to control every aspect of the ground force.

Yttargh, I trust you shall succeed in letting the Rebel Vindicator Compact know the Zerg are not to be trifled with.

Do not attack until their command center has finished, that it may be infested and brought back to Mar Alta. Go now and bring triumph in the name of evolution, and may the wisdom of the Overmind be with you.

The dragoons surrounded the perimeter (base is about thirty meters in diameter) and five Crusaders (Dark Templar) were sent out to scout the way to the RVC camp, their commander being Templar Furin'thols (who is also a Dark Templar). The Captain stepped into their headquarters, which was The Vengence landed in the middle of the small camp.

"Archon Dakor'tal, what is our current position?" asked the Captain in a worried tone.

"All ground forces have made it down in good condition, but the air forces took heavy casualties as you can see. We are approximately four miles from the RVC 'base'. Five of our crusaders have gone to scout the way. I chose Templar Furin'thols to lead them." responded the Archon proudly.

"Good work, Archon." said the Captain sitting on the chair of the commander on the bridge of The Vengence. "Tell the ground forces to prepare for battle. Recall all but half of the air forces, and switch them off. They deserve to rest after that battle."

OOC: Well aware, RD. As I said, it's a probe force... an extremely small percentage of my total zergpower, though I'll certainly not be wielding all that force here... judging by current troop movements, dropping twenty million Hydras on Helioc III would end the battle right there.

I'm more interested in what happened to the two thousand Scourge I sent to pester some of the Protoss.

Gorak I am, cerebrate of a branch of the Zerg. I shall eradicate all who stand before me, absorb them into the Zerg hive. Yttargh, send forty Drones to the pole of Helioc III, there we shall start our infestation. The Protoss and Terrans will not notice.

Kyros paced back and forth in the tiny camp, praying desperately that the SCV's could manage to get the com satellite repaired. Suddenly, the specialist came bursting out from the somewhat-repaired dropship.

"Lt.Kyros! Sir! We've gotten the com expanded. It still isn't good enough, nor will it ever be again, to reach the Homeworld. But we did recieve a transmission shortly after we brought the system up. We've recorded it, and I think you'd better hear this sir," said the specialist, very excited.

Kyros followed the specialist into the dropship, "A transmission? Play it back."

-Archon Dakor'tal of The Readanian Covenant

"Interesting! Prepare to give a message back!" Kyros watched as the SCVs prepared the com,

"Archon Dakor'tal of The Readanian Covenant, this is Lt.Kyros speaking, I am the commander of these surviving troops. We accept your offer of peace and bondship. I must let you know, we are few in number: myself, three wraith pilots, a ghost specialist, two marines, a firebat and two space construction vehicles, However, if you could grant us access, or help us access, a com satellite, one powerful enough to reach Tiberius Magnus, our Homeworld, we could send for troops. We will immediately prepare to leave, if you would give us your position, or send us a scout to lead us to you.

- Lt.Kyros McGregor, of the Rebel Vindicator Compact"

Kyros sighed as motion for the recording to end, and then had them send it. "Well, you heard me. Lets get ready. Forget establishing a base, I want you both to dutifully work on the late Dora's ship. I want it ready to fly by the time we recieve contact."

The SCVs went to work...

The Protoss approach, Yttargh. Hold your forces back until the Protoss get there... form a perimeter two thousand meters from the Terran... fortification. When the Protoss arrive, destroy all you can, though they will be superior to the brothers we have near them. Let the Terrans survive, they are too weak to be any threat. The Aiur-formed inferior bastard children of the Xel'naga must die!

Divert one quarter of the two kilounits of Scourge to aid our ground brothers. They, too, will fail, but if they do damage enough, perhaps one of my Queens can take over one of their vaunted carriers. Go now, Yttargh, do this in the name of the Swarm, and the Overmind shall be pleased.

Glancing out the screen, Terrevein admired the daunting hell that is space. "You are great, for no being has conquered you yet - None other than God controls you, and even He lets you rest." The Archduke smiled and rested in his chair.

Moving into position around Helioc III, the Archduke waived his finger around. "Men, open up a communication link with any human populace in sight." He smiled, and walked over to record his message.

Appearing on a screen, somewhere far away, was a picture of a bald man grinning. "This is Archduke and Admiral Taylor Terrevein. Triad Squadron would like to assist in any manner welcome. Hopefully stories of our bravery and skill procede us. Communications are open if you need to speak." The image flickered off, and his lips curled up. "Zerg, you will die. Although I am a small fleet, and a mere man trembling upon the world of a giant, I am prepared to give my life to defeat such a bigotrous, monstrous, inhuman thing. You are scum, and I shall quish you under my boot."

(Prehaps I haven't been clear, which is likely. The Protoss, well mine atleast, are on the surface and have established a very crude base camp. The remaining capital ship, landed, is the head quarters of this crude base. Oh, and the only carrier around the base is crashed with the base formed roughly around its crash site.)
"There has been a great deal of things happening both on radar and on the communications display, sir. First, a large grouping of Scourge has been spotted visually and on the motion sensor we salvaged. secondly, two terran groups have contacted us. The one that we contacted first responded with this:

'Archon Dakor'tal of The Readanian Covenant, this is Lt.Kyros speaking, I am the commander of these surviving troops.

- Lt.Kyros McGregor, of the Rebel Vindicator Compact'" Relayed the Protoss in charge of Commincations and Radar. "Then there was another from a group that is from a rather sarcastic Terran group also on the planet. It is unknown where they are. Here is their crude message:
'What are you guys doing here are you here to help us if you are I am inviting you to my ship for dinner.'
We don't know where they are nor who they are nor how they expect a downed Protoss fleet to meet with them on the brink of plantry conflict. I suggest you respond to the one we hailed first."

"Prepare a team of thirty Zealots, ten Dragoons, the remaining Crusaders(dark templar,) and one Reaver to help secure their position. Tell those crude probes to hurry up with the cannons, relay a message back to both of the Terran groups and prepare the remaining air forces and ground to air combat teams for incoming scourges." replied the weary Captain Gal'thas.

The cannons were finished shortly before the following messages were sent to the Terran groups:

Terran of the RVC,

We are preparing to send a nearly half of our forces to both help secure your area and to lead you back to our crude base, if the need arises. We also have a working comunications outside of the planet, but we are not knowledgable of how far it reaches. Also, the previous commanding Protoss, Archon Dakor'tal, was merely a temporary replacement while I was missing aboard our crashed flagship, The Devastator. We espect very little reinforcements, since the nearest fleet is rather small and atleast a day away by now. Good luck contacting your people.

Unknown Terran Force,

This is Captain Gal'thas of a protoss faction called The Readanian Covenant. As our sensors tell us, we are a good ways away from wherever you are. It would be very helpful to us if you could tell us who you are and approximately where you are. We are located near a terran base of a faction called the RVC, or the Rebel Vindicator Compact. WE hope to hear from you soon.

The battlecruiser Vindicator hung still in space, observing the planet Helioc III. The captain, James Paran, had simple orders. Observe the situation, and report if the Zerg seemed to head towards Haleon. He didn't like this, though. He thought they should be helping the ragtag Terran and Protoss forces on the planet, but he had strict orders not to alert the Zerg to their presence. Even so...the last Wraith recon group had found signs of a Zerg Hive cluster near one of the poles. If it wasn't taken't out, the Protoss and Terrans on the ground may be in for a serious fight. He sighed, and contented himself with observation.

The Collective of Terravein is of no immediate threat to us, Yttargh, no matter their posturing. Look upon their frail ships, their decaying bodies, that you may envision their deaths as they will be, for I am a Cerebrate, and my will is that of the Swarm.

The northern infestation has nearly completed. Ready your drones to form an outer perimeter of spore and sunken colonies, and have the remaining twenty-five Hydralisk kilounits make landfall on the base. Fan then out away from the base and search for stragglers from the Terran forces... groups of fifty, comb the plains and the desert and the oceans for the disease that is Humanity and the pox that is Protoss. If an infestation is found, sanitize it. Leave one thousand Hydralisks to defend the Creep as it expands over the poles and eventually meets ally Daggoth's and brother Garun's Creep wherever it may be.

Command also that an Overlord take position near that sole Battlecruiser, that its intentions be made clear to the Swarm. If it takes no hostile action against the infestation, or no move to aid the enemies on land and air, pay it no mind, for it is small in a large world.

Ahhh, for I would smile if I had a mouth to smile with. "I am a small fleet, and a mere man trembling upon the world of a giant," the human said. That giant is a living giant of the Swarm, rising up against those who attempt to trod upon it. He does well to tremble, Yttargh, and I sense you would chuckle as well. He can spew words, but the Zerg prefer action to posturing. He shall soon be running back to his own systems... and when the Swarm reaches the Collective, he will have no choice but to flee to Earth. And there, he and all of humanity will be trapped....

But the Swarm needs my mind here, now. The Scourge have not found anything worth their destructive energies, Yttargh; I leave it to your discretion to choose a target. Leave that lone battlecruise ship alone... for now.

Kyros silently reviewed the latest transmission from the Readanian Covenant. The specialist quietly paced in, "Sir.. the ship's repairs are almost complete. We were lucky, there was a very small, but useful, patch of crystallized mineral deposits. However, even though she will fly, we do not have the proper equipment to restore com satellite."

"Indeed.." Kyros and the specialist walked out of the ship, "I figured this would be so. Never-the-less, the ship needs to be up by the time the protoss reach here. Specialist, you haven't yet told me your name."

"Emilian sir, Victor Emilian."

"Well, Specialist Victor Emilian, I suggest you get some shut-eye. When the protoss arrive we will have work ahead of us."

The specialist saluted and trudged back into the dropship's darkness.

Kyros gazed up into the night sky. The stars were recognizable.. and he could point out Magnus Dux, his homesystem. Damn, he wished he was there instead of here.

Suddenly....a thought stuck him. He immediately struck it down, feeling it useless.. but then! The protoss! They might know! He ran into the dropship and began to record a message.

"Protoss Leader! I know that my ship's com satellite cannot reach the depths of space, but perhaps, after we meet up and prepare, we can send a few ships off to bring back reinforcements! I have three wraith pilots, they are all very skilled and could surely be spared to pilot my dropship and two of your vessels (provided we can repair them)."

Theirworld prehaps. They also reported that their dropship has been repaired and that their com sat cannot reach the planet. I suggest we allow them to use of two of our shuttles on the condition that they return it. After all, we need a way off this rock as well... I also believe we should warn them of the massive Zerg air squadrons, seemingly covering the skies."

"Very good, Achon." responded Captain Gal'thas, "we shall prepare this vessel for them immediately. Also, prepare the com station to respond. Lastly, tell the perimeter guards to prepare for Zerg. I sense they will attack us soon after the team reachs the terran. Any word from the Unknown Terran?"

"Nothing from the Unknown Terran that contacted us earlier..."

The Protoss team had just left when the response to the RVC was sent.

Captain Paran stood on the bridge, frowning. I hope to God that the Zerg don't yet know our presence...

"Sir! Zerg on scanner! They're getting close. What should we do?" The young lieutanent looked expectantly at Paran.

"Cloak the ship. Combat alert Beta. I don't want them to find us. Fire if they get close enough to ensure elimination, otherwise leave them alone. We can't let them know we're here. Maintain absolute radio silence."

The ship slowly faded into the tapestry of space as the cloaking field enveloped it. The technology had been taken from the downed Protoss Arbiter the Kel-Morian Remnant had found on Haleon. The crew waited in the blackness of space, hoping against hope that the Zerg would pass by and not notice them.

OOC: Sorry, didn't catch he closed the comm. Regardless, the Zerg aren't paying much attention to you right now, as they don't hate you quite like they hate the Protoss.

Yttargh, you have not been paying attention. I, with my massive cerebrum, have detected a flicker of movement in one Overlord's eye that could only be a Protoss cloaking field. Send three overlords to its last known position... it was seen some time ago, so it is likely not there anymore, and a movement that small can't be bothersome in the midst of war. What is bothersome is that only Protoss Arbiters can cloak, and they can cloak others... they themselves must remain visible, and an Arbiter surely would have been detected by the Swarm.

I have reconsidered, Yttargh. Send seven overlords and a full cluster [12] of Scourge. Unless whatever the overlord saw has moved in the last quarter-rotation [about 1.5 hours], it shall not escape the wrath of the Swarm.

As the Zerg prepared to investigate the ship, Paran had the cruiser move about a third of the way arounds the planet. That way, when the cloaking generator runs out of power, they won't see us unlcoak. He'd had the Wraith patrols cloak themselves and then return to the cruiser, so that they wouldn't be caught off guard by the Zerg. He had the crew prepare for immediate departure, in case the Zerg did spot them. Gotta blind those Overlords somehow...hmm, I wonder if that would work...

Now they sat, and waited.

Yttargh, the Wraiths have cloaked. Pay special mind to the newly formed Spore Colonies, that if they detect movement near the base on the North pole you shall strike it down with the force of the Swarm. Drop an equivalent landing force to the Northern polar force at the South pole of the planet, and while you are building there continue your expansion and conquest of the Northern regions. I feel the pounding of Zerg hearts in our structures, and that they have extended the creep ten miles from the Pole. The growth is slow in the poles... once the Creep clears the frozen zones, it will be a rapid death for all enemies of the Zerg. Keep your Guardians and Devourers close to yourself, Yttargh, I cannot afford to lose your direct link, and another being of your size and mental power would take months to grow.

Your overlords have lost the mystery ship, Yttargh. My mind is clear, the ship was there, but it is not. It must have moved... move two clusters of Mutalisks to cover your Southern polar construction workers. All Zerg fear what they do not understand... I want to capture this mystery, Yttargh, not destroy it. Send two Queens to the poles as well.

[several minutes pass]

I have felt a disturbance from another Overlord, Yttargh. The Terrans are active around the downed Dropship. You have had ample time to drop your lurkers. Encircle their camp at a distance of five hundred meters, that no Terran or Protoss life may enter or leave the camp. The Scourge are still patrolling the air. I have lost contact with the two kilounits Scourge I deployed to pester the Protoss... what news of them, Yttargh? What do our overlords tell us?

Specialist Victor Emilian watched from the canopy of a tall tree. He had climbed it and cloaked himself to get a better view of their surroundings, and he was dumbfounded by what he saw. A thousand, maybe two, zerg things were patrolling the skies. Victor looked down at Kyros who was pacing back and forth. Skillfully he slide down the tree and bounced off the bottom branch.

"Sir! You won't believe it. At least two thousand strong zerg scourge-beasts are flying in the skies above the canopy!"

Kyros stopped pacing and looked up. "I was counting on something of the such. It'll be difficult to do, but I think we'll manage."

"Excuse me, but HOW sir?! We've only got one ship! It'd be torn to pieces!"

"No, we have three ships, provided those Protoss follow through. And I have an idea anyway." He turned to the SCV's who were resting after finally fixing the dropship, "Do you know how to install a cloaking-device to ships?"

One stood up, "I used to repair wraiths on Korath, one of the Un'Dar borderworlds. I think I could manage. I'd need help though," he said, nudging the other SCV worker.

"Good. This is good. I want you to install one on our dropship. I can see only two problems. One, we need to find away to remove one from one of our downed wraiths and transport it here. Two, we'll need to alert the Protoss that their ships will most-likely be terminated in our escape plan."

The SCVs nodded and went to prepare a com transmission. Kyros began to record...

"Dear Protoss ally, we've developed a plan to escape and find assistance. I fear to outright tell our plan on this transmission; who knows what the zerg have accomplished in transmission-spying. However, I must alert you of two things. There are around two-thousand zerg-scourges patrolling the skies above us. This means, even with three ships, if our plan goes right, we should expect to lose both protoss ships. When we meet, I'll explain why.

Yttargh, they plan to move. The Protoss will be close at hand to aid them... this could be our chance to excise a large chunk of our enemies. Tighten the lurker net to one hundred fifty meters, and assume direct control of the Scourge. Be ready, my brother, for the time to consume draws near. When the lurkers hear the humming of engines preparing for takeoff, then they must strike... in preparation, the Terrans will be occupied and their ships defenseless on the ground. The spaceborne Protoss will descend upon the Terran position with great force to outnumber the Scourge and destroy them. Bring Mutalisks from the poles to assist if the Scourge fall too quickly. Do not hesitate an instant, brother, for if you wait too long the Mutalisks will not have time to transit.

Our mutations at the Poles have reached self-sufficiency. The Northern pole concealed a rather large mineral deposit under all that ice. Begin constructing Nydus warp canals to ferry minerals between the two growths. More hatcheries and spawning pools, Yttargh, that the planet be overrun by beautiful, monstrous Zerg. Daggoth will be pleased, and Garun. They who seem to have vanished with my appearance... what could it be, Yttargh? A test? Or cowardice?

"We've received a new message from the Terran." reported Archon Dakor'tal, "We have also sensed some Zerg movements, we suspect that they will strike soon, somehwere..."

"Damn the Zerg! They were a nuisance to our creators and are a major threat now! Why the Xel'naga would create such beings is beyond me." replied Captain Gal'thas while reviewing the message from the Terran. "Prepare our defences, ground and flight. And active the cloak on The Vengence as well. it might help to confuse the Zerg. And send a message acknowledging the RVC's requests. Hopfully the Terran will be able to do want we cannot. Send off the shuttles immediately, and escort them with 25 scouts and 30 corsairs. Atleast if they get off, there is hope for us!"

The protoss squadron soon met up with the small RVC team. Their leader, Commander Huirn Tol'thas, was happy to meet them after their seemingly long and nerve wracking journey across the blighted plains.

"Good day, Terran of the RVC. I am Commander Huirn Tol'thas, leader of this small brigand of Protoss!" said the commander somewhat happily, "hopefully the shuttles will arrive soon. Look upon them, Yttargh. The Terrans attack us at an opportune time, both for him and for us. The Scourge will be weakened by the Terran attack, yes, but he has forced our hand. Bring in the reinforcement Mutalisks from the polar regions to defend our lurkers from flying First-Born. The Scourge will assail the Terran armada until it is no more. Try to hit the Wraiths before they cloak. The Battlecruise vessel is as good as space trash. He should have waited until his Protoss blood-allies were ready, don't you agree, Yttargh?

If the Wraiths cloak, scram the Scourge to an Overlord until the Wraiths break off pursuit or are detected by the many eyes of my cerebral brothers. Forced my hand indeed... the Mutalisks will not reach the Protoss in time to defend our lurkers from air assault. Move the lurkers within striking range of the downed Terrans and annihilate them as well. The Protoss will then have the choice: destroy my lurkers and face a horde of Mutalisks and leftover Scourge on their way back out of the atmosphere, or leave that ragtag, worthless band of Terrans to death... or worse, for them. My, this makes me feel so... cunning.

Foolish humans... I detect our Scourge are dying, many suiciding. What damage have they done to the vaunted Terran fleet in the name of the Swarm, Yttargh?

Finally, the SCVs arrived back with the cloaking systems from a downed wraith. They managed to install the systems aboard the dropship, but they needed tweeking.

"Hurry! Get that cloaking system up! Reports from Specialist Emilian say that the scourge have left the skies, but who knows whats in space!" Kyros said in barely a shout before going back to Commander Huirn.

"Commander Huirn, our dropship is almost prepared. Do extreme changes in zerg life, I believe that we will not need the shuttles after all, for our plan to be executed properly. However, it is a great opportunity for most of us to leave. My whole squad can board my dropship, along with you or however else you may choose. I will have to leave two of my pilots behind, and I'm sure they'll gladly pilot anything for you."

The SCV ran and tapped Kyros on the shoulder. Kyros turned, "Where's the bloody dropship?!" The SCV grinned, "Right there, sir. We managed!"

Suddenly the dropship flickered out of invisibility, when the pilot turned it off. The other SCV dashed out, shouting, "It works! Yes! Its a masterpiece! A miracle vessel!"

"I want that ship running. Keep it 2 feet off the ground and ready to depart the moment we need." said Kyros. The pilot did so.

The Overlords were quick to regain control of the Swarm after the destruction of Yttargh. There were certainly enough of them, with more overlords than attack units. However, the decentralization of control meant some of the Zerg were given a chance to band together and think in pack mentality instead of the overall will of the Swarm. Temporarily, anyway.

The Lurkers shied away from the shrill whine of the ship's engines, and though the stench of humans was thick in the air the Lurkers burrowed just out of range of the Terran searchlights. Overlords began regaining control of the rogue Zerg, but it would be several minutes before that happened.

The Mutalisks, however, were set on their objective and had no reason not to keep flying. They were halfway from the poles of the planet to the Terran crash site, with no sign of stopping. Cerebrate Gorak was temporarily blinded to the workings of the Swarm, and as the great being regained control of the Overlords, it could not find the Protoss anywhere, nor any sign of its Scourge or the Terran fleet they had been sent to destroy. It began to grow a new being to replace its direct control of the Swarm and new defenders for that being, as none of the overlords were yet able to regain control of the ragtag remnants of Yttargh's defenders. Over time, most of Gorak's Zerg would return to its control, but there was a power vacuum that had to be dealt with. The new ultra-Overlord would take several weeks yet to grow, however.

The South polar mutation had gone berserk when control was dropped, with all the Zerg subspecies turning on one another, their not-quite-suppressed instincts taking their toll on the Swarm. Zerglings, Hydralisks, and Sunken Colonies ripped into one another, and when the Hydralisks emerged the victors, they made short work of the base itself. Control of those Zerg was never regained, and Gorak dealt with this by loading Overlords with 240 Gnashers to dispose of the renegade Zerg.

The Northern base, however, never left Gorak's control. The Hatcheries pumped out Hydralisk after Hydralisk, with one hatchery devoted entirely to creating the most demonic of Zerg, the Defiler, as well as Zergling fuel for its massive appetite.

It seems I now return to the capability of other Cerebrates now. They never used middlemen to control their Swarm, though it turned out to be very effective. My Overlords will serve the purpose they always have... control.

But to regain my thoughts. My Gnashers will make short work of the rogue once-brothers in the South, and will clean the planet of any other rebellious Zerg they run across. They scour the planet now, ignoring Terrans and Protoss in search of any Zerg who have left my control. The mutalisks... I can feel them now, the beating of their wings in time with their hearts. Little by little my eyes re-open, to see... nothing. No Protoss or Terrans aside from those stranded on the planet's surface. No debris, no dead Zerg... just... nothing.

Terrevein smiled. "Men, pull back the Triad Squadron and head home." His fleet shot back, and watched as the rest of the fleet began to fire on the encroaching swarm. They acted like a cat trapped in a corner - small, but furious. Continuing to fire, they concentrated on the overlords.

Terreveins face appeared in every ship. "Men, you have done well. However, I feel as though we have lost. Therefore, I'm afraid you'll have to say good-bye." With that final sentence, a launch was triggered, causing all the ships to blow up at the same time, spreading a yellow gaseous fire to the Zerg swarm. A sick smile grew on Terrevein's face as he headed away.

OOC: Sorry, this is nowhere near my usual quality; We have the technology through a trade we made with some Protoss about 10 years ago.

James Paran watched the comscreens as battle raged over a thousand miles away, Zerg and Terran ripping each other apart. It was hard to tell from here, but he thought the Zerg would win. The Terran ships were inflicting murderous losses on the Swarm, but there were so many! He looked to the XO.

"XO, prepare to send a communique home. Ask for three battle groups. Yamato- and cloak-enabled."

"Affirmative, sir. What do we do for now?"

"Wait, and prayer that one of the those Overlords doesn't get close enough to see us. Have the Wraiths ready to scramble, just in case. If they get near, I want them taken out."

My overlords, you do your duty well. The will of the Swarm resounds through me, and resonates in you and your controlled ones. I can feel them all now, directly, without all the transfers of many overlords through Yttargh. His defenders... they are victorious! So few of them remain, burned as they were by the fiery deaths of the Terran encroachers, but a handful of Guardians and Devourers remain-

Wait. Did you see that, Overlord? A flicker. Not a Protoss ship, no, for there was again no Arbiter. I saw it clear this time. Ah, how could I have been such a fool for my grand size! I feel almost Human. The Terrans have access to some kind of cloaking shield for their larger ships, something more permanent. That is how they destroyed Yttargh with so little warning, and that is how this... new ship has so far managed to slip past our eyes. Overlords, hear my call, feel my mind in yours... open your eyes, and be double vigilant for another sign of that ship. It was between the Overlords and the planet... tighten the net a bit. Flush it out. I send what is left of the Devourers and Guardians down to the Polar base to heal, to regrow, to prepare for more blood.

The Defilers thirst for vengeance for the deaths of so many Zerg, I can hear the screaming of their thoughts. We will lure these Terrans to the North base and destroy them there... their ships will burn and crash, and the Defilers and Ultralisks will sate their bloodlust. I can feel them now, crushing Zergling bones in their devilish maws. I know this because I told them to do that, else they would buck control and attack haphazardly, so great is their destructive urge. A distraction, diversion, and lure... now, how to go about this....

Cut off Creep access to some of the Northeastern spore and sunken colonies. The colonies will weaken or die, presenting a grand opportunity for whatever fleets may be waiting. Burrow the Defilers, and bring in the rest of the Mutalisks from the star's corona to patrol the skies all over the infestation. If they attack, we will have them. If not... we can at least cause some consternation, no?

"Now THAT'S a lot of Zerg. I didn't even see that many overlords in the entire First War-"
"Shut up and drive." Colonel James P. Burnett, captain of his Vulture division, did NOT like Dropships. Flimsy bite-ridden hunks of tin foil and thrusters... The only reason he travelled in a Dropship was because his Vulture didn't work too far outside the atmosphere, though he was prodding the techs to do something about that as well. He was riding in with a fellow Vulture rider and a tank, the same configuration as the other twenty-nine dropships in the flight.

"Alrighty, boys, gas 'em up!" He strapped his Marine-level breathmask to his face and activated the in-mask comm to be greeted by the clicks of sixty other breathmasks being activated. "You've done it all before, and the Dropships need to be as maneuverable and light as possible in case the Zerg catch on to us before we're on the ground. Everyone locked in?" A chorus of "Aye"'s, "Yes, sir"'s, and "F*** off"'s came through the comm. "Alright, ladies, drop your dicks and grab your sticks, it's showtime!"

Right on cue, the rear bays of the Dropship doors blew open, and the rushing of thickening atmosphere resounded through the cavernous hull of the Dropship. Burnett heard gasps through the radio... Rookies! he thought... "On my count, Beta bikes launch! Three, two, zero, go go go!" His partner rocketed out of the back of the dropship, miles above the planet's surface. Thirty other bikes joined him in free-fall. The dropship rolled slightly with the off-balance weight, and Burnett heard the tank anchors creaking. "Alpha bikes, follow up, NOW!"

The rushing of air past his bike made it almost impossible to hear the radio chatter. "Sickle Four's engines cut out, he's not gonna make it!" "He has brains, he'll use the repulsors, and guess who gets to go back for him? That's right, you do!" "Sickle Two to lead, the dropships have bogeys!" Burnett looked behind him to see several groups of Mutalisks and Scourge descend from the clouds to follow the dropships down. "Damn, those tanks HAVE to make it! Turn around and gun the engines, we can freefall just as fast as the dropships!"

Midair Vulture fighting was more of a dance than a war. The bikes were almost uncontrollable above ground level, but the grenades were easy to aim. Mutalisk after mutalisk was shredded by the fragments, and the Scourge were confused at these unusual airborne fighters. Many of the smaller Zerg panicked and attacked each other, and at least two got blasted by dropship exhaust. One of the mutalisks got sucked into a dropship engine and the ship exploded, hurling the tank it was carrying high into the atmosphere. The tattered Zerg withdrew, and the dropships began to level out in preparation for landing.

"Repulsors ON, ladies! Otherwise the only Zerg you'll kill is the one you land on!" The hover engines of the bikes would be nearly useless this high, but Burnett could already feel his bike slowing slightly. All the bikes' engines were at full power, and as the dropships dusted off and left their tank cargo behind, the Vultures shot past them and towards the weakened gap in the Zerg base.

Maybe I'll get a medal for this. Hell, maybe even an engraved plaque thought Burnett as he sped towards the weakened Colonies. "Alright girls, plan's simple. Use 'nades only for Zerg, even if its one of those big f---ing Ultralisks. Save the mines for the hatcheries! We've got cloaked Wraiths in-system now, they'll try to give us some cover from the flyer Zerg, but there are still a LOT of spore colonies around here, so don't count on much! Beta, repulsors on full, go in first and try to nail those sunken colonies, use mines, but watch out for those tongues!"

An Overlord crashed through the atmosphere miles to the East, hitting the ground with deadly force. Oh shit, that thing was on fire! Four squadrons of uncloaked Wraiths followed it in free-fall, then sped through the air to overtake the bikes. They stayed away from the spore colonies for the time being. "Guess that's the signal, boosters go!" He pushed the infamous little red button.

If the bike had touchy controls before, the double-speed ramjet boosters made it just about impossible to fly a straight line. Burnett sailed past the first sunken colony, and the flash of his mine exploding reflected off the glistening mucus coats of the nearby colonies. They lashed out, striking towards his bike, but none could connect with such a surprisingly fast target. He smiled as his squad cleared the first line.

Then his smile fell. The skies clouded with swarms of Zerg, their screeches and moans audible from miles high. Their wings beat hard to catch the Vultures, and though the Vultures were fast, the mutalisks descent was faster. Gobs of acid and glaive wurms coated the ground around him. Bikes exploded behind him as several stragglers were hit directly, but most came through.

There! The hatcheries were in sight! The roar of Wraith rockets joined the cacaphony of Zerg cries, and soon the screeches were echoed by howls of pain. Tattered mutalisks joined their glaive parasites on the ground, and the spore colonies spewed goop into the air with frenetic pace. Burnett pulled back on the bike's handlebars, and the force of the booster engines propelled the bike up into the atmosphere, a dozen feet or so above the hatchery's peak. One mine dropped from his bike and stuck to the slippery mass, and a second to the second hatchery. He saw mines from the bikes behind him do the same as he looped around and gunned for the hole in the defenses again, more than eager to make his escape. When the hole was within reach, he dropped back down to ground level to avoid the wrath of the spore colonies.

"Well done, ladies! Now, one last thing to do. You gave the Zerg some presents, now show 'em how to play!" He glanced down at the bike's control panel and hit Detonate Mines.

"Their is a battle going on, Corinthas, between the Zerg, Terran, and our brother Protoss. Tell Orthole to launch 100 observers to ring the planet. And be sure to tell him to make sure they are not seen."
"Yes sir." Corinthas walked through the hall and down a flight of stairs. Orthole turned around from his computer as Corinthas came into the room.
"What is it Corinthas?"
"All three races are fighting on a planet a few parsecs from here. Taleratul wants you to observe the battle with 100 observers. He also wants you to keep them out of anyone's sight."
"Tell Teleratul that they will be launched with the hour." Orthole then communicated with the dock captain who then relayed the message to the workers and in 36 minutes, 100 observers were on their way.

OOC: We need more Zerg in here, I'm getting a little hammered on right now!

Maekrix, he did post his forces: http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7565181&postcount=38

I hear a Cerebrate is all-knowing. That a Cerebrate sees all its minions see, feels all they feel. That a Cerebrate is heir to the will and power of the Overmind itself. That a Cerebrate has no limit to its power but the size of the Swarm it controls.

Why, then, must these inferior species continually overrun my forces? Can this battle even be won?

My Hatcheries are a smoldering ruin. Nearly half the Mutalisk presence in the area was destroyed. The Terrans have large-ship cloaking devices, my Lurkers aren't responding to my call to arms, and now I have reports of dozens of new cloaked disturbances on the edge of my Overlords' detection ability. My Zerg allies have not responded to probes in weeks!

Hmm. I still have several Defilers on the planet, and my Gnashers only lost one unit to those rogue Zerg. The Mutalisks are hovering above the downed Terrans, and my Lurkers are right there with them, however little control I seem to have over them. I still have hundreds of Mutalisks hiding in the star's radiation, and hundreds more that survived the Terran attack on my Hatcheries.

Ah, there it is. The caverns my Hatcheries were resting on top of. There will be Drones in there that were mining crystals... there's one. Build a Hatchery South of the old colony line. Keep it low-key, keep the spread of Creep small.... we only need this as a start. Ah, more Drones. Build Hatcheries, keep them spread out, and build them underground if possible in caves and lakes. The Swarm must retain a foothold on this world. What of the other Zerg, the Creep that was here before? My Overlords see no sign of it.

And bring the last of the Mutalisks in from the radiation. I shall send more forces in through the warp soon, but I can't do more until Ytttargh has finished mutating.

I read through the thing, and this is assuming you guys didnt blow up my ship while i was away :D

IC: At the hull of theSwinghammer

The crew had finally managed to repair the ship, and the men began to celebrate. Finally, after so many weeks of constant threat from Zerg, the ship had been repaired. "Alright men, listen up! We gotta get off o' this rock! Now!" said the commander. "Sir yes sir!" replied the men as they boarded the ship. Once they had all buckled up, the ship took off. At about 2 miles up, however, the side of the ship suddenly exploded. It appeared that someone had left the entire crews grenades in the engine room. There wasnt any time to lay blame, though, because within 2 seconds the entire ship fried and died.

"Mr. President Sir! I have good, bad, and very bad news," said the New Massachusetsian Secretary of State Kristof. "I'll take good news first, Kristof."
"Ok sir. Heres the good news, we found the Swinghammer. She had crashed on Helioc III but was about to take off."
"Ok, whats the bad news?"
"About 2 miles up the ship exploded due to unknown circumstances."
"Ok... Whats the very bad news?"
"It seems that the Swinghammer was shot-down over Helioc III by the Kal'aat Brood, the dominant Zerg Force on the planet."
"Say WHAT?"
"And it seems that the Other Terran sent to planet destroyed a Zerg Brood, but the wrong one."
"Oooooooohhh boy...."

"Let him in."

"Hello Mr. President!" said the Secretary of War.
"Hello Jacobs. Tell me, what should we do?"
"Well sir, we DO have our army that we can send. Not to mention our very large fleet."
"Very well. Send 10,000,000 Marines, 1,000,000 Firebats, 500,000 medics, 120,000 Vultures, 70,000 Goliaths, 30,000 tanks, and 2,000 ghosts. For the fleet we'll send 2,000,000 Wraiths, 450,000 Valkeryies, 600,000 Dropships, 25,000 Science Vessels, and 10,000 Battlecruisers."

Inside the Cerebrate Lokiar's Lair

Soon my minions shall be ready to overrun these foolish Terran and Protoss. They idiotically wasted all their ammunition and men on the other brood. What fools. Yes, now i shall be able to crush them. But first, i must get rid of this other cerebrate. He hurts my mind, he's prescense(sp?) is a constant buzz in my head. He must be destroyed, and soon. Or else Daggoth shan't be amused.

I had better start rousing the troops. They are restless and they need blood. Alot of blood. Go, my minions! Seek out the zerg that are an insult to Daggoth! We shall reign supreme over the zerg, even over Kerrigan. But first, we must destroy those that stand in our way. Seek them out, my minions, for you are hungry and must feast upon our enemies! The dawn of the Ka'laat has come, and today, we begin our rise!

OOC: Heres the stuff about me for all the people who missed it. (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7429531&postcount=9). On Helioc III i have about 100,000,000,000 troops(Zerglings, Overlords, etc....) It may seem like alot, but seeing i have very nearly 1,000,000,000,000 Minions and all Zergs are baisically fighters, its a very reasonable number.

The men boarded on the dropship were stuffed tight. Two of the downed wraith pilots managed to bring Dora's dropship into a hover. The boosters torched the ground underneath.

"Hey! Close the f***ing door!" shouted the firebat.

Specialist Victor pressed the button and the door slowly closed with a sound like air being pressurized. With a click and push of the lever, the pilots cloaked the ship using the wraith's device.

"Gents, hold onto your seats and prepare for a speedy exit." said the pilot over the speaker.

The dropship hurled itself into the sky, and they quickly noticed that the sky was again full of zerg. The dropship continued to rise without a notice, for their were no overlords in sight. Finally, the dropship thrust into space.

"Gents, please take a look out the port windows and you'll notice stars... beau-ty-ful!" said the second pilot, as if they were on a pleasure tour.

As they gazed through the window with amazement and the dropship burst into flight toward Tiberius Magnus in the Magnus Dux system.

On board the New Massachusetts Flagship, the M.S.S. Shrewsberry

Admiral Sphinx looked out of his window at the vast amount of stars in space. The ships would reach the Helioc system within 3 days, and Helioc III within 4. The admiral turned and looked at a 3D model of the planet. He compared the planet to the origional visuals taken by the Swinghammer, and was amazed at the difference. The once lush planet was covered in scenes of death and destruction, as millions of Terran, Zerg, and Protoss troops moved around on or orbited the planet. He was looking for a single group of Zerg in particular. This, Ka'laat Brood was beggining to become a nuisance. Already, they had attacked the planet of Caldarik Prime. Although they had been pushed back, they had managed to destroy quite a few space-stations. The death toll was at 47,000 and rising. This was an all-out war, and his fleet had been sent to stop it.

Arggh! Now not only the Terrans and the Protoss assail my lines and consume my forces, but my brother Zerg attack me as well! Even the Overmind is confused at this, and thus I have no guidance. Decisions, decisions... my Brothers are certainly useful allies and brethren, but Helios III is a mineral-rich environment that could give the Terrans or Protoss an unnecessary edge. We will fight all who oppose the Overmind... and with the will of the Overmind behind me, what better victor than I could there be?

Load Overlords with thirty percent of the land forces of Mar Alta. Fifty percent of the air forces shall join them in the Helios system to assist in creating a new Hive on the North pole of the planet. When Ytttargh is finished mutating-

I live.

--------------------

The dozen or so Defilers that remained from the smoking ruins of the old hive crept outside the walls of colonies. Up above, the faint blue traces of a wormhole rift danced across the night sky. Overlords full of Ultralisks, Hydralisks, and even several thousand Gnashers were pouring out of the rift, but even the hawk eyes of the Defilers could not detect them. They could feel the thoughts of the Overlords, and the all-controlling essence of their Cerebrate. Dim in the back of their tiny minds was the presence of the other Cerebrate, no longer dormant but raging and hostile. The Protoss were a foreign presence, but still there, and the Terran Ghosts were another alien presence in their minds, detectable but not of pure Zerg form. The Defilers stopped, waiting, yearning for the call from their master. Then it came.

Our once-allies are no longer fighting for the Overmind, and instead are a taint on the pristine image of the Overmind. They fight US rather than the unsightly blemishes of the Terrans and Protoss. Daggoth the traitor has influenced them to join him as well.

Some of the Overlords were beginning to touch ground, dusting off and back into the atmosphere after dropping off load after load of Defilers and Zerglings. There was a pause as the Cerebrate considered the consequences of all possible actions.

Destroy the infidel Zerg. Destroy them all.

Sergeant Lance Jensen's Vulture was idling on top of a hill near one of UR's temporary forward bases near the North Pole infestation. He wore a fur coat to keep the chill out, and held a pair of macrobinoculars to his eyes, watching the horizon for Zerg... or anyone, for that matter. Then, there they were.

Hordes of them.

Oh, F*** his mind screamed as his bike roared to life. He rocketed towards the outpost, booster on, when suddenly the side of his bike just... fell apart. Bolts and gaskets flew all over the terrain as the right booster flew into pieces, and the overbalanced left side of the bike dropped to the ground. He ground dirt, revved the repulsors, pumped the purest fuel he could into the main ion drive... and the bike stopped dead.

Dead.

He got out of the bike, drawing his .45 sidearm. It was a useless gesture, of course, but what would any man have done? He could see them with the naked eye now, zerglings, hydralisks, even defilers and ultralisks! Off in the distance the air forces rose above the terrain, overlords and guardians all. So close they were, so dreadfully close... he could see the Terran flag when he turned around, only a kilometer away... an eternity. He looked back, and they were almost upon him. He fired once and a Zergling dropped to the ground. He fired again, and a second Zergling slowed but did not stop... a third shot dropped it as well. Only a few hundred feet now. He emptied the remaining bullets into the swarm, scoring a couple hits but no more kills, and then they were right there. He closed his eyes, felt the pounding of Zerg feet next to his-

-and opened his eyes again. Thousands of zerglings dashed past him and his downed bike, paying him little mind. They weren't headed for the Terran base either, he realized, they had the wrong path. He breathed lightly, making no sudden moves as Hydralisks turned and stared at him as they slithered by. So many, so many....

Of course, what does a man do when he realized he's dodged a bullet? He runs to find another one. Lance reloaded his .45, then turned and kicked a rather immature zergling, and the goat-sized creature fell to the ground snarling. It leapt up, turned to Lance, bared its teeth - and turned and ran again, almost in step with the zergling next to it. A demonic-looking defiler stepped lightly past the standing man, hissing at the zerglings to keep moving.

Suddenly a metallic CLANG rang Lance's ears, and his ruined Vulture slid a few feet. He fell back, almost into a rather beat-up hydralisk. A... metal-plated zergling?... stepped shakily from behind the bike. It stopped, staring at the bike, then at Lance. Only a meter or so away. He could see every scale on its head, every vein just under its leathery skin. He could see his bike's reflection on the metal imbedded into the creature's back, whatever metal it was. The strange zergling blinked and leaped clean over Lance, joining its brethren in their march, to whatever end.

It seemed like hours until the swarm finally passed. It might have BEEN hours for all Lance knew. He got up and looked around, swaying slightly on his feet. The ground still shook from the feet of thousands of Zerg. He took a deep breath and started walking towards his outpost. His hands would not stop shaking.

OOC: Omega! You killed the thread! lol, just kidding around bud, I'd like to complement you on your story-style thread-posting. Its very exciting, I can't wait for a next 'chapter' by both you and the others. And as no one else is posting, I'll do a post, boring as it is.

IC:

The dropship glided through space in the way a ship sails through calm water. It slide with zero resistance, except for flying particles clinking off the shell of the vehicle. The inhabitants were quite hungry, tired and bored, and as they played the ancient game of chess, they nibbled away at the remains of the food.

"Pilot Richards, we're out of food," said Kyros as he leaned into the cockpit, "so we're going to need to settle down on a terran-controlled planet to refuel, repair and supply."

"Righto sir...." Richards typed into the onboard computer, "Coordinating.... ahh. Okay, there is a terran city planet, rather small but well built and funded, not far from here." He brought up a 3D image, "Is this satisfactory sir?"

"Yes, Good. We'll also have to tell them the news of the zerg."

The ship turned slightly and sped up. Soon they would be at the terran planet.

OOC, again: Okay, well they're going to the planet, its rather small, but its mostly a city, sort of like that planet in starwars, except small and with more foresting. Anyone can lay claim to the planet, but you must be terran, in order for it to coincide with my ingame explanation.
