For the hell of it, I think it'd be refreshing to give each other our current military prowess.

My own country is still small, and its army would barely be considered a company by most larger countries standards.

3x Infantry squadrons (1 officer (AK74 SU) 1 machine gunner (PK) 1 Anti-Tank trooper (AT4 launcher) and 1 medic, as well as 8 privates (AK74) per squad.)

1x Shillka Anti-Aircraft light armour tank

1x BMP Medium armour aussalt transport, HEAT payload.

2x URAL multi purpose truck

8x UAZ jeep

1x Mi24 helicopter, Sabot payload

Never thought I'd actually say that a couple-day-old nation needed to scale up its numbers a bit...

10 times what you posted would prolly still be good, considering your nation's size.

nope, military is relatively pathetic, due to the basket case economy. The bulk of our force has been made redundant and sent home, and most of our vehichles sold.

S' better than 'Imploded', at least, so you're not THE bottom.

hehe. I think I have to agree with Godular. With a basket-case economy at your age, you can afford, maybe, 50 tanks, 50 planes and about 5,000-10,000 equipped men?

Still, you don't have to change. And it would be quite interesting to see a nation RP when they have that size military.

i disagree- theres no way a nation with under 10million people can afford around 50 tanks. Look at NZ (in real life) were a developed country but our armies pathetically weak if your speaking realistically 50 tanks is too much.

my country is made up of 3 small 20KM islands and a larger landmass. If we get attacked, we'll be a pushover, but that doesn't worry me. The pen is mightier than the sword! (Its not really, though.)

Well if you look at IRL Belgium you will see 100 F-16 planes, a least a hundred Leopard 1 MBT, lots of other armored vehicules ( M-113, Pandur, ... ), a dozen C-130 transport planes, 3 frigates, a dozen mine warfare ships, and so on for only 10 millions peoples in the country...

These countries have relatively stable economies and funds. We, however, do not.

OOC: *rushes in like a concerned parent* BACK YOU FIENDS! You'll lead him down the filthy road to numberwank! *Shields Sovieten from the evil numberwankers*

Really, good military, you don't need huge numbers for RP, only bad RPers rely on numbers rather than story.

OOC: A poverty-stricken nation of five or so million can support a half way viable military, in some cases, and in others not so much. More than that, there's not always a need. Libya has thousands of soldiers and several hundred combat aircraft, with an economy only a couple of rungs higher than Sovieten's. On the other hand, nations like... uhm... Iceland don't even bother to have militaries, because who the hell is going to attack Iceland? Perhaps Sovieten doesn't fear attack to begin with. They've got a useful helicopter gunship in the Hind, so in the event of perhaps smugglers or the like thinking to take advantage of lax security... well, yeah. Hind.
Early on, BG had an imploded economy an was protected by a few hundred AKM-weilding men in pick-up trucks... and a much wealthier ally.
Uhm, and what Kriegorgrad said!
