Kamadhatu to offer aid

PRABHA (KNS) – In a gesture critics are calling a potential waste of funds that might be better spent here at home, Prime Minister E.S. Cirettekrub announced the formation of a new international program designed to promote Kamadhatu’s visibility and image overseas.

During a speech delivered to the National Association of Solicitors at their annual meeting in Sunya Monday, the prime minister announced the formation of an organization which would see Kamadhatu university graduates assigned to various countries overseas. The volunteers, serving two years assignments, would assist locals in various countries in building schools, hospitals, teaching, promoting health, or any other number of what Cirettekrub called “positive actions.”

While the solicitors generally had high praise for the prime minister’s announcement, critics in the National Assembly immediately questioned the source of funding for the prime minister’s project.

“From where is the money going to come?,” demanded Raj Dandapani, National Democratic MNA for Northeastern Sunyata. “We’re already facing a shortfall and he wants to give it to other countries that haven’t as yet requested our help?”

“As a nation founded on the principal of peace and mutual cooperation, we are morally obliged to do everything we can to assist other nations in their efforts to modernize and help their own citizens,” Cirettekrub responded at a press conference last night. “We are a civilized, compassionate country. This is what civilized, compassionate countries do.”

The National Assembly is expected to support the program in its vote on the upcoming federal budget, but it may continue to draw fire.
