The agent known as Grey Snake crept carefully around the back of the stage. The Aggresive Perfector was only metres away from him, an easy target. The leader of Aggresive Perfection, his name forgotten to Grey Snake, was making a speech about his country's newly found oil reserves, almost as large as those in the Persian Gulf.
Grey Snake was a member of an elite group that wasn't supposed to exist. Extensive cosmetic surgery had given him the plainest of features, so that no-one remembered him and a description of him would not be that helpful to authorities, and his name had long been forgotten by all but a file buried deep in the archives of the RIA.
He stopped. There was a gap in the backdrop to the stage and the Aggresive Perfector was in clear line of sight. Grey Snake drew the silenced Beretta M-92F pistol from his pocket and stepped out onto the stage. The gun came up, aimed at the Aggressive Perfector's head. His finger tightened on the trigger. Something slammed into his right shoulder twisting him around, causing the bullet to hit the Aggressive Perfector in his own shoulder. Three security agents ran across the stage, firing their pistols at Grey Snake. Fully six rounds hit him in the chest, ending his life at the age of 29.

"The Aggressive Perfector suffered a wound to his right shoulder, but he will make a full recovery," finished the AP news reporter as the article was shown yet again.
"So. It appears our plan has failed," announced David Andersen, Secretary of Defence for Free Eagles, and head of the defence council, "Do we have a back-up?"
"Yes, mister secretary, we do," replied Commander General Amelia Sharpe, the head of Free Eagles army, "Why do you think the QRF (Quick Reaction Force) this month has three Airborne regiments in it? Should we enact Plan B?"
"Can they trace the assassin to us?" The question was aimed at Song-Wei Junn, deputy director of the Republic Intelligence Agency (RIA).
"It's possible. He may have been seen when he went to the Embassy to pick up the weapon."
"General Sharpe, General Carrington. Brief us on Plan B."
After getting a nod from Sharpe, Commander General Richard Carrington, RAF, outlined the plan.
"We use the the QRFs transport units to insert the airborne soldiers into the AP oil fields. They hold the fields until the rest of the QRF reaches them. We have greater numbers than the AP military, and equal or superior equipment. We can win."
"What if they retaliate? Do AP have any WMDs?"
"No confirmed intel. They have a nuclear weapons program, but it's at a very early stage. Chemical or biological, we suspect they have some small stocks." replied Song-Wei Junn.
"And if they use them, we can send in General Morris's bomb wings," said Major-General Lopez, Carrington's deputy.
"Okay. We need oil. Carry out your plans and mobilize your troops," ordered Andersen.
