Peace Meeting

High Priest Takha strolled through the wood, breathing in the rich taste of the air and marvelling at his nation's natural forests. The government provided a lot of resources to protecting the enviroment, though little was needed given the way corporations were governed using the Coldorran tax system. A system where corporations that were not state-supported were charged a huge amount of their profits which went into the state. The state could then provide the same services (or more important ones) for free. It destroyed poor companies yet still allowed trustworthy corporations to flourish due to the lack of opposition.
Takha sat down and lit a candle whilst chanting softly. A squirrel hopped onto his lap and he stroked it gently. "Hello my friend..." he began, but he was cut short as his pager bleeped. The squirrel jumped off and charged up a tree. Takha sighed and looked at the pager.
[Meeting with the Faith of God fundamentalist group today]
He picked himself up and dusted off his robe. 'Never a moment's peace' he thought and teleported himself back towards the capital, straight into the meeting room of the state palace.
"Good day Father" Takha signed, bowing to the group's leader who represented one of the radical groups which had been undertaking terrorist attacks on the outskirts. "...and good day to you, soul less leader of this nation." Takha sighed again. Fundamentalists of any religion seemed to all be the same. The worst bit was, these terrorists weren't from their nation and it had taken two years just to organise some peace talks.
"I'd like to begin by thanking you for..." Takha began, holding his staff horizontally in honour of the guest. That's when the gas hit, coming from one of the bottles one of the Christians was carrying.
Takha closed his eyes and used his magick to push the gas to the other side of the room before it reached him. The Christian delegates and the Wiccans alike rushed through the door, some of the latter assisting Takha in keeping the gas from the guests. Two hours later the delegates of the Faith of God left in disgust with no talks taking place, claiming it was a Wiccan assassination plot. To all the Wiccans, it looked like the exact opposite, a plot from a known terrorist group.
Despite pressure from his upper circle, Takha refused to take any forceful action against the group. "We have no proof that they did it and we cannot remove them simply for being Christian, even if they did start a civil war many years previous. They are not allowed citizenship in our country but we cannot choose to ban them. That goes against all our freedoms. There are many of them who still have friends here from before the civil war and we cannot refuse them their right to visit." he had said, but their was much skepticism from the others. They passed over to Takha's judgement however when he promised to scry for more details.
'Why can they not see that we present no threat to them?' Takha pondered later in his personal ritual area. 'We support peace and love, we are tolerant of others and we keep ourselves to ourselves. It is hard to understand'.At that moment Mikhayl popped in. "Ah Mikhayl, my old friend." said Takha. "Hello High Priest" said Mikhayl, shaking his hand.
Mikhayl had previously been the leader of the nation of Coldorra, many years before. Now he was the leader of a paramilitary group which engaged in covert warfare against oppressive regimes. High Priest Takha had provided him with safety in his country in exchange for their help in policing the state, keeping terrorists of all denominations from harming innocent people.
"I heard about the Christian incident. It's a shame, peace was looking viable." Mikhayl began. Takha looked at the floor and replied "If the God and Goddess will it, then it will happen, regardless of how stubborn they are." Mikhayl shook his head. "You know I can wipe them out, I know where they congregate to make their plans." Mikhayl stated, offering the solution to Takha again. Takha didn't reply for a few minutes then turned to Mikhayl. "No. We will not stoop to their level. They will see that peace is an option. The Goddess has decreed it to me." Takha pointed his elegant golden wand at the door and it slung open. He paced leisurely out of the door. "You are a guest here Mikhayl, do not overstep your authority." Mikhayl nodded. "Sorry about that." he said sarcastically and slipped past the High Priest.

Takha closed his circle and stood up, pushing his druidic robe behind himself and kneeling in respect of the God and Goddess. He picked up his staff and turned to leave when Mikhayl stopped him.
"Yes my friend?" Takha asked and Mikhayl stood there, pistol in holster. Mikhayl said nothing but pulled out a document. Takha scanned over the document quickly for a minute and then levelled a stare at Mikhayl. "They are planning to massacre covens?" he asked, already knowing the answer. Mikhayl nodded, "Indeed they are. We suspect the attack will take place on Samhain." he said.
Takha sat down. "I will scry for more information, please leave Mikhayl." he said politely with a somber tone. "As you ask High Priest" Mikhayl said, offering him the two-finger peace symbol. Mikhayl turned to leave when Takha stopped him. "Wait Mikhayl." he said, full of terror. "Yes?" Mikhayl said in a concerned tone. "You can stop this. The God showed me images of the attack, it will be bloody if they are permitted to do it. You have permission to close down their terrorist activites." he said, full of pacifistic regret. "Your people will thank you for it, I'm certain." Mikhayl said and he left promptly, leaving Takha in silent contemplation.
The next day, Mikhayl herded together the volunteers which formed the Coldorran Armed Forces. The group included some of the best soldiers from the destroyed nations of Coldorra and Communist Tadjikistan. Despite this, they operated with cheap paramilitary hardware, scraping together what they could having had all their lives shattered and vowing to help fight religious intolerance wherever they could, Independent wiccans has offered them asylum.
"All the plans are set. You should have all recieved your briefs, if you didn't then you wouldn't be here." Mikhayl wrapped up. "Remember this is an anti-terrorist operation. Do not hit anything that isn't an immediate danger and that means no civilian casulties. The police forces have been kind enough to supply us with handcuffs for any captures."
Mikhayl walked outside talking with Julian, his right-hand man, and walked past the Wiesel Armoured Recon Tanks. "We using them?" asked Julian quizzitively. "Damn right we are, perimeter setting." Mikhayl said, winking.

Salvos, the 107th God Emperor of his country sighed...
He had counted his blessings ever since he outlawed Christianity and any of its derivatives, though he found it amusing to watch his neighbours problems... not that he would openly admit such.
A brief light rapping on his door shook him out of his revere, he wasnt amused now. Whoever it was must have a good reason to disturb his free time, unless they want the useless thing they call a head being removed from their shoulders. Sighing he addressed the person outside.
"Come in."
A woman came in, wearing what most would term: an outrageously expensive suit, Salvos eyed the woman then deducted if must be something of 'slight' importance if his head advisor was delivering it personally.
"What is it Saizuki?"
He didnt bother hiding the annoyance in his voice, she flinched slightly but remained composed.
"Your Excellency, The Independent Wiccans are having difficulty with some religious fanatics..."
Salvos interupted her
"I know that Saizuki... why have you brought it to my attention?"
She paled slightly... she knew that her predecessor was called by her last name thrice before being executed for 'incompetance'
"I was thinking... if we, did them a favour by wiping those pests out... we could *ahem* get some form of deal going..."
Salvos smirked
"Go on, I'm interested."
She had his attention now... it was only slightly better than being on 'strike II'
but better none the less.
"We could request some form of material pay off or even training for our soldiers... our facilities are quite *ahem* full at the minute"
Salvos frowned then smiled
"The Independent Wiccans dont have much of a military... but a payoff sounds good. Setsuna! make it so at their allowance of it of course."
Setsuna knew she was off the hook now, she never questioned her Emperor's will but sometimes it was not worth her job to obey him... especially since he could have her executed for disturbing him, but then again... execution was getting off easy in this country.
Salvos smirked, he enjoyed watching her squirm at his superior authority... but no, he wouldnt execute her... yet, he had so many plans for her, and besides... it was quite a worthwhile plan, if The Independent Wiccans let it happen.
"Our scheduled programming has been delayed for this shocking news announcement..."
Salvos was not happy now, picking up the phone he dialed a well used number...
"This is the Emperor speaking... I would like CCN branches liquidated and their assets used to fund our research."
It would be a cold day in hell before anyone got away with delaying his favourite TV program.

Mikhayl raised his AR-18 assault rifle as he hopped out of the AĆ©rospatiale Super Puma Transport Helicopter, pulling his comm unit down to his mouth. He shouted loudly over the rotors of the retreating Puma. "All forces, move into position!" he said into his mouthpiece. He moved forward with his team of four men and propped himself against the door to the compound. There were eight compounds used by the 'Faith of God' terrorist group. Mikhayl had sent fifty troops to each company. The tanks were mostly for perimeter setting on paper, but Mikhayl hoped he might have the chance to order them into battle from the reserve.
He slammed his back up against the gritty wall and made a small gesture to indicate to his men and women to hug the wall. "Breach, bang and enter!" he said quietly over the comms. He planted the C4 charge on the door and typed a few buttons. Within a few seconds it exploded. Volleys of fire flew through the door from the inside as Julian tossed a flashbang into the room. The room went silent. Mikhayl stepped inside and his team followed him lead. Double tap. One enemy down. Repeat. Two. Three. Four. "Room clear" indicated Julian, gesturing to the stairs leading into the bunkers underneath.
'Now comes the hard part...' Mikhayl thought as he approached the stairs crouched. "Remember people, watch out for civilians!" he repeated before heading down the stairs on tip toes.

Alissah, commander of the 53rd battalion had just recieved orders.
While nothing new, she despised the type that was just given.
"Cheer up Alissah, could be much worse..."
She gave the man, James Cheng a wry look
"Define that, I've just gotten border patrol until further notice."
He smiled.
"Well, they could of sent you to guard Zankorv Mines...."
She flinched
"Zankorv is just a hell hole disguised as a uranium production facility James"
He gave her a condescending look
"Thats why I said it."
She gave him a withering glare
"I'd love to chat, but I have orders... and they take me FAR away from you so I'm going to get on with them."
She turned on her feet and walked down to the barracks where her battalion was stationed... and enjoying some R&R.
Swinging the door open with enough force to bust a hinge she walked in, everyone had ceased what they where doing
"Gentlemen... we have new orders..."
She paused and waited for the storm of swear words to subside
"We are to patrol The Independant Wiccan - TGK borderline, and shoot anyone on site that looks suspicious."
one of the smark aleck soldiers made a remark
"So we're just going to hang around and do nothing right?"
Alissah grimanced
"Pretty much... Get ready! we're going to leave in 10 minutes, stragglers will be left behind and shot for insubordination!"
The room degenerated into a flurry of motion and Alissah just walked out and headed for her Personal ATV Buggy, a single combat prepared recruit quickly came out of the barracks and manned the chaingun turret on the back.
7 minutes later the base was filled with the roars of engines as the battalion setted out for guard duty.

Mikhayl kicked open the door, escewing such subtleties as actually checking the room's contents before he blasted three people to the floor. A fourth dived to the ground and screamed "I surrender!". Mikhayl smiled, "cuff him Julian" he ordered. They broke into the next room and they found three scientists escaping a door. Mikhayl shouted for them to stop but there was no response. By the time his weapon was up they had gone. Mikhayl tried to chase them but tripped on the stairs, causing a frag grenade, whose owner has clearly heard the noise, to drop down after him. He dived to the side beside a steel crate which deflected the blast. He then propped his rifle on the crate and fired on the terrorist. Click. No bullets. "Shit!" he exclaimed, before Julian rounded the corner and took the terrorist clean with a shot to the head. "Hope he enjoys it with 'God'" Julian commented. Mikhayl smiled. "I owe you a drink." he said. Julian nodded. "You damn well do!" he replied before stomping up the stairs.
The scientists were long gone from the bunter heading towards the land of teh great Kazham.

Alissah snarled as she tried to get her buggy out of the ditch, she hated the border regions, she hated guard duty and she despised when they where mixed... much like now.
The border regions where mostly marshland this is why they used buggys instead of tanks for border patrol.
"Will you move you goddam piece of trash!"
She cursed for the nth time, she had gone through just about every insult she could think and was fast running out of ideas, a crackle of the radio tore her attention from cursing to a more serious nature
"This is the 53rd Battalion, we have a group of people here heading towards the border at AU26... please advise."
Alissah groaned... did anyone listen to her when she said "Shoot on Site"?
picking up the microphone she spoke
"Soldier... fire at will, happy shooting anyway."
a few seconds later the sounds of gunfire could be heard for miles around.
"Commander... these are civilians...."
She looked very pale...she knew the penalty for firing on civilians either directly or indirectly via orders, she would most likely be staked to the ground and used a wildlife snack for this....
"Tell me... have any survived?"
She hoped and prayed there where some survivors... her life depended on it.
"Confirmed. I count two dead and 1 wounded, the rest are fine."
She wouldnt be used a wildlife snack now... maybe execution instead.
"Bandage up the wounded, leave the dead for the wildlife."
She tried to reverse out of the ditch forgetting it was futile...
"GODDAMIT!"
Looked like it was a long walk home and with a 'nice' probable execution waiting at the end of it.

By the end of the carnage five caches of illegal weapons had been captured, a couple of experiemental weapons and five Christian terrorists. Mikhayl handed them straight over to Takha outside the compound.
"I wonder what I'm going to do with these?" said Takha, purplexed. "Well they will attack again if you let them go." replied Mikhayl, who was dusting blood off his fatigues. "I know" Takha said, with a sigh. "I have even seen it in my visions." he finished, full of regret. "I think we have little choice but to detain them for their lives, for the crimes they have commited against innocent Wiccans, Muslims and Sikhs." he concured.
Mikhayl's armed units left the scene in a hurry and Takha returned to his house to write some further legislation.
