leader of Glanis declares need for allies. (and pays the price)
There was the flash of hundreds of cameras when Brian Glanisar, leader for life of Glanis, took up his position on the podium, flag of Glanis on the wall behind him. A middle aged man, his hair had begun to grey slightly prematurely. It helped him fit in with the suit he wore, which looked obviously out of place on the otherwise surly body. He brought up a hand to shield from the flash glare, before quickly placing it back down to thumb through his notes quickly. The flash of the photographs settled down to a constant blur as the Warlord, a now defunct title, begun his speech.
"People of Glanis. You place enormous trust in me. For that I am truly grateful. But for too long now, we have looked only inwards at ourselves. Flawed in our belief that as long as we do not look out, no-one else will look in.
Well, this can be the case no longer. This announcement is being recorded, and copies will be sent to press corporations worldwide. The Warlords council is looking for those who would support and trade with our nation. Those who would not see us extorted, cajoled, bullied and robbed of our land, of our possessions, and of our dignity. You might ask why we would make ourselves so ---"
A flurry of gunshots rang out from the crowd. Chaos took over. Frightened cameramen gazed up at the podium as panicked people ran past. The flag of Glanis covered with blood. On the floor, the head of Brian Glanisar poked out from behind the podium, eyes staring out blankly. An ever growing puddle of blood began to cascade from the raised platform down onto the floor, oozing into the cracks. The gunmen were nowhere to be seen. A similar fate had befallen the Warlords Council. Each shot in their homes the night before.
The tapes were ordered to be kept from being sent, but local press companies had sent them out beforehand, eager to pass on the story of the Warlords assassination.
What would become of Glanis now? Who were the mystery gunmen?
***Recorded message of the Glanisian peoples army***
"As you are aware, the Warlord is dead. We claim this deed, glorious as it is. The first step of the difficult journey to liberate Glanis. To give her to the people who flocked to it under Glanisars banner, only to be stripped of their freedoms. To be denied democracy, to be denied everything they were promised. Capitalists worked their way into the hearts of the Warlords Council, and for that they were destroyed. Corruption destroyed the council, we were merely the correction. And this is why the attacks will not stop until the corruption has ended. We declare a war on each and every capitalist and corrupt politician until a party of the people is in place! A party chosen by the people! We urge them to rise against those who oppress them. The Glanisian Peoples Army will support them. We urge the Glanisian Armed Forces to rise up against their capitalist oppressors, for they know in their hearts that they serve the people, and cannot take hostile action against us. We urge the Glanisian capitalists to leave, before we kill them. There is no place for them here."
This was the second piece of news the press delivered from their offices. Once again, the members of government left alive tried to prevent it, once again they were too late. By midday riots had broken out in the capital city, claiming the lives of 60 people and twelve armed policemen. Scenes like this were repeated on smaller scales, and are believed to have been provoked by the Glanisian Peoples Army. Numerous armed robberies have taken place, and many citizens are remaining indoors, attempting to wait the crisis out. All attempts to contact the GPA have failed, and armed forces are reportedly in disarray. Popular rumour suggests that the first division has already abandoned their posts and have joined with the GPA, but these reports are unsubstantiated at present.
The Halladi people support the actions of the Glansian People's Army.

***Official Report of Situation, Delivered to deputy Council members***
-made by high ranking armed forces officials-
Summary
-The Glanisian Peoples Army have attempted to start a civil war. Whilst their attempts have been only partially successful, primarily due to apathy amongst the populace, several parts of the army, airforce and navy have deserted to fight alongside their "comrades." Whilst we still control 2/3 of the assorted armed forces, deseration figures are up daily. We estimate that at current levels, we will have minority control of the armed forces in three months, taking into account all realistic predictions. We are having difficulty tracking the movements of more visible GPA components, as they appear constantly mobile. We estimate that actual GPA members are not as commonplace as they seem, but high mobility is disguising this fact.
Threat level
-Severe. We recommend immediate protection for all deputy councilmembers, and a proactive plan of action, shutting down the GPA before it gains momentum. We must appear to be attempting to resolve this situation peacefully, so that we can buy some time. Ideally, we are looking for external aid, however, we believe that the GPA are doing the same.
Deployment
-We are concentrating our troops in the cities, with only the most trusted troops allowed into the countryside, and areas which we believe the GPA have major influence in. By concentrating our troops, we hope that we can maintain loyalty for an increased amount of time, but without a victory, we feel that low morale may work against us.
Locating the GPA
-We feel this is of the utmost importance. A critical strike on their headquarters, perhaps taking out their leaders in the process may end this situation far quicker. Whilst this risks making a martyr of them, we believe that without them working grand strategy, the GPA will be unable to maintain cohesion.
Conclusion
-Situation dire, long term prediction heavily favours the GPA. Action must be taken shortly before situation becomes hopeless.
***tape leaked to local press by the GPA***
"See, people of Glanis? The outside world supports our movement. They see the oppression of the government as we do. They see its vile grip holding you. Unite with the Peoples army! Throw off the grip of your capitalist masters! Take charge of your nations destiny and become truly equal with those around you. Take heart, those of you actively seeking freedom. Victory is assured!
But liberation cannot come solely from the outside. It must come from each of you. You cannot be free unless you desire freedom. Unless you make the effort, prepare yourself to sacrifice, then you cannot be free in any way. You will always be enslaved to the capitalists."

A company of the 1st Guerilla Regiment, part of the Halladi Special Forces were prepared for a drop in Glanis. They would arrive with copies of Ernesto "Che" Guervara's book on Guerrila Warfare. They would also bring 50,000 USDs.
They would be flown in by two An-124 Condors. From there they had orders to find GPA members and deliver their goods. They would then stay there and become "Tactical Advisors" to the GPA.
It would take an hour to mobilize the men and two hours to arrive.

**GPA Response to Zackaroth** (I assume this has been sent and somehow retrieved by the GPA. if it hasn't been sent, ignore this.)
"We appreciate what you say. Capitalist. Why should we stall our march by attending a peace conference? Why should we weaken ourselves? We do not seek war with the people of Glanis. We are their army. We seek to free them from capitalists and those who would seek to harm them for their own profit. You may promise us security, but that does not make it so. It would only take one bullet from the gun of the oppressor to put our struggle back many years. To make the lives of those who struggle meaningless. We cannot, in good conscience, attend any meeting in which the capitalists can strike at us."
**Official gov't response to the nation of Zackaroth**
We are delighted that you do not want to see our great nation reduced to ruins. Something we fear that the GPA will ignore in their quest for power. If such a conference is possible, there will be gov't attendence without hesitation. We hope and pray that you will be able to secure such a meeting. Do not doubt. We are honourable, and will not attempt to strike at our enemies, even if they are within range, as long as we approach under the flag of truce.
(As for Hallad, what will happen here? Will you post a landing of the troops (they'll get in, Glanis is a backward place, pretty much, very little radar coverage or indeed capability to stop a determined intruder) or will I assume that you are already in and make contact?)
(I'll be posting it.)
"One minute!" The speaker in the An-124 blasted in Arabic for the men to hear.
Captain Zabaar sat, holding his necklace with a cresent on it. He prayed silently to Allah. He didn't really have time anymore. the rest of his men were standing up, readying themselves for the jump. He the necklace in one of his warious pockets.
He too stood up with his men.
"Thirty seconds!" The speaker said.
The Guerillas checked their parachuets for the last time.
"Ten seconds!"
They waited.
"Five... four... three... two... one!"
A light turned green, and the cargo door opened. Zabaar rushed foward and leaped out. His men took their time doing the same. It took almost a minute for all 200 men to exit the two planes.
Zabaar pulled on a cord and his parachuet opened. The Captain glided down to the ground.
(What's your terrain like?)

To: Galanis officals and GPA

2. If rule 1 is broken The state of zackaroth shall tAKE CUSTODY OF THE MEMBERS APPEARING AT THE PEACE CONFRENCE.
3. Guards shall not be allowed in this meeting. All body guars will be left with dEfense force outside the meeting
4. The peace meeting will take place in the Holy Tower of Zackaroth. This impplies that any attk on the Galanis, GPA, or the people of Zackaroth will be assumed a open declartion of war.

(it's mainly fields, with sparse forests. Quite hilly, with lots of long grass. Very dry, but not sunny. Swamps for most of the north, with a small beachline in the SE. Very good conditions for paratroops, mainly. It gets more barren the further north you go. Very fertile plains in the south.)
**GPA response to Zackaroth**
"For our own interest, we will send someone to attend this conference. Do not feel at ease, illegitimate government. We will not cease our action against you. We can only hope to convince some of you to join us, and give up your capitalist allies."
**Gov't response**
"Regardless of what the GPA says, we shall attend in the hope that we may negotiate something of value to the people of Glanis. A representative shall be on a flight to Glanis at the earliest opportunity. We thank you for your efforts."

Perpare your reps. The meeting is set to happen. Gpa please land at the Purple light area and Glanis rep please land in the red lighted area. There you shall report to to limos provided that will bring you to the tower.

The Captain landed hard. He wasn't injured, it was merely inconveniant. He landed with fifteen of his two hundred men. He got his parachuet off.
Looking around his men began to gather. It was night, he just noticed. He also noticed a hut about ten metres away from him. Zabaar noted the light was on. He approached it, quietly.
His AK-74M was in a firing position as he moved toward the hut, which had candles lit inside. He was nearly at the front door and a window when the door swung open.
A boy stood in the doorway. He was only about twelve years old. A young proletarian. The Captain waved to him. The boy waved back, slightly. He got closer and the boy dared not move.
Zabaar was a few feet away form him. He put his index finger to his lips.
"Shh. Tell no one of us." He reached into a pocket and pulled out a chocolate bar. He handed it to the boy. He took it and smiled. Zabaar patted him on the shoulder and walked back to his men.
"Good bye." The boy whispered.
* * *
"Comrade Captain! We've assembled most of the men. Four platoons have reported in." Frist Lieutenant Abdul said to Zabaar.
"Good, comrade. Send Black Platoon to locate the rest. Set our radio frequency to .834. They are to stay in radio contact."
"Yes comrade. What shall the rest of us do?"
Zabaar took out a map of the country side they landed at. He flashed a red light from his flash light on it. "There are woods about half a mile from where we are. We shall head there an make a camp."
"Yes, comrade." The Lieutenant went off to tell Black Platoon their orders. Black Platoon set off the east, the rest went north to the woodland area.

OOC: Zackroth and Hallad, please contact me over AIM when you have a few minutes. I'd like to talk about certain things.
As the CH-47s reached Zackoroth airspace, The pilots of each ship radioed in. In the following format.
"Testing testing. This is a Jurrik Aircraft, entering Zackoroth airspace. Please notify on upon entering Restricted airspace. They were going right for the local airfield. The CH-47s beginning to land. Touching down in order. Removing speed to 30MPH on the run-way.
Beginning to Taxi and in the middle of the field, they set out. Driving out the Hummers which was four, and then the pre-shipped ones. They checked them and then setout on Road Crews. The 1,000 men begun to work at everything. Setting up the Hummers with the Grenade Launchers and 50mm Machine Guns on them.
Then they wheeled out the four avaliable tanks and then the supplies which were placed in the back of the Hummers. In the back, was a Local Commander for this mission only. They were going to the Zackaroth Palace. Parking in front, only Two hummers. THe other two were still setting up Checkpoints at the borders, enclosing the Cities. The men quickly stormed the stairs of the Palace. Running up them.
Rifles held high and being brandished at every guard. Along with their Arm Patches showing that they belonged to the Army of Jurrik. If they were stopped, they wouldn't be stopped in other cases. Quickly passing up Secreties. They were on a mission to get to the Checkpoint to meet the Leader of the Zackaroth Nation, or atleast foreign affairs.

Aimless Sends a transmisson to Jurriks men.
" To whoever is in command i want you set up postions outside of Naga. There you shall be informed off when the 2 reps will come. you shall make way for them and show respect. If riots break out only try and stun them do not kill. Arrest the rioters and the Zackaroths officals will take care of it. If the rioters carry gun weapons you have authrization for lethal force.
Any melee weapons rioters must be stunned and arrested. I cannot leave my chamber becaise i am perparing for the conferance"
Zabaar awoke. The sky was cloudy and the air warm. It wasn't very humid. He got his weapons and looked for his Lieutenant.
"Where is comrade Abdul?" He asked a Sergeant.
"He went out with Blue Platoon, comrade."
"Where? Take me there."
"As you wish comrade. Red Platoon! Assemble!"
The eighteen other men in the platoon hurried to get into formation.
"Comrades, we shall have radio silence. Now, move out in scattered formation." Zabaar ordered.
They began to scatter and move as the Sergreant told them where they were going. Hald of an our later Zabaar and his squad heard a whistle. It sounded as that of a bird but they knew it was code. The other squad had found some people.
Zabaar reached the other squad. The sergeant made hand motions indicating Blue Platoon was ahead. They were surrounding a group of Glansians moving down a small canyon. The walls were twenty feet above the road.
"Glasians!" Lieutenant Abdul called out as the Glasians were under his men. His men came out as well, showing themselves. "We out number you two to one, so lay down your arms!"
(You can do your men, it'd be cool if they were GPA, but they don't have to be.)

OOC: if you fire upon those men then you will be breaking the peace confrence rules and that shall cause us to atkk you and the GPA.
OOC: If I fired upon those men you wouldn't even know about it. Unless you have the power to see all at all times.
My men don't exist as far as the Halladi government are concerned, and you don't even know that I've dropped them in Glanis.
(will respond soon, taking into account everything. I just want to get a few rounds of CoD under my belt first.)
The troops layed down the weaponry slowly, so as not to provoke a response. They were recent deserters to the GPA, and the sudden ambush had startled them greatly. One of braver soldiers spoke up from the small group. Unaware of any GPA assistance, he could be signing the whole squad to the death penalty.
"We fight for the GPA. Though we do not know who you are, we will not turn back. The people of Glanis deserve their freedom, and we will die so that they may have it."
Now all that was left to do was to wait for the response.
In the air above Zackaroth, a GPA member was furious. One of the most fundamental GPA members, enraged that he was being served anything at all, infuriated that he was not flying the plane, and that a chauffeur was to drive the car, where he would meet with stinking capitalists, where they would sicken him with their wealth, their corruption. Unphased by the turbulence, but buckled in tight nonetheless, he shouted his displeasure at all near him, whether they were listening or not.
On the other plane, a nervy, but otherwise far more casual gov't member sipped some wine as the plane readied to land.
***half an hour later***
Both delegates got into their respective limousines, causing another rant from the GPA representative, and causing little more than a satisfied remark from the gov't member. What happened next was for the other to decide.

Patently disgusted by another display of servitude, the GPA representative trampled behind. The Gov't representative followed at a far more sedate pace, taking in the sights of the tower (if there are any). Politely but firmly, he ignored the GPA members hostile manner, especially the multiple attempts to start a fight. They were lead into the conference chamber, where the GPA rep' strode ahead to claim a seat.
(I'm gonna leave this til tomorrow. Will spend more time on it then. I like where both these arcs are going.)
"Ah. I see." Abdul reached into his backpack. He took out his copy of Ernesto "Che" Guevarra's book on Guerilla Warfare. He tossed it down to the man who spoke. "That's for you."
"Comrade Lieutenant?" Captain Zabaar called out.
Abdul spun around and saluted. "Comrade Captain! I have found the GPA!"
"Good." Zabaar saluted. "How about the rest of my men?"
"Most of them, comrade, most of them."
Zabaar nodded and walked up to the clift above the GPA contacts. "Comrades, I am comrade Captain Alkiim Zabaar of the Socialist Federation of Hallad. We have money, food, and literature for you and your comrades."
As the men moved about the zones, more were shipped in. They were covering the Forest area. The hummers and Motorcycles breaking the silence.
About 1,250 men moved in sequence following out their orders. They kept close. Moving in SWAT team performance. Helicopters bursting across the air, every 5 minutes. Not something to be proud of, indefinetly.
Sometimes, single bursts of gunfire would go off, the men having killed something to eat in the forest. They had REM packs, but didn't like them. For now, they had amused themselves. Sometimes coming across some Hikers and making sure they weren't going to cause any troubles. Letting them pass or having them dragged away to a Secure Area to be interrogated.
They were somewhat past their order barriers, but were carrying them out to complete Goal Number one. Keep Glanis safe. Though, it was getting much more ugly. People attempting to cause fights. The body count was raised to 3 overnight. It was then reported to the Government of Glanis. A few hikers going hunting and were disgruntled about the Nation of Jurrik Army there.
It might get more ugly there. These men belonged to a Fighting Squad, they weren't use to normal walking patrol.
(sorry... all OOC, no plot advancement. In fact, bad news.
Firstly, Jurrik... who are you? I'm not saying get out, it's just that you appear to have an army in my nation, and you haven't consulted me at all. Which I find most peculiar.
Secondly, and here's the really crushinating news, I'm not going to be here for a while. No posts today, at the very least. I'm not giving this up, definitely not, but posting may beyond my means for the next while. I might be gone til tomorrow, or next week.
Well, I've said my piece.)
OOC: Shit.....I cannot remember which Nation I'm actually SUPPOSE to be in, either it's Zackaroth, or Glanis....>.< But, it's definetly this thread.
