The Grand Duchy of Apollina opens up her trade routes for exports and imports. Below are the contracts available. If any nation has anything to export then we will seriously consider any offer.
Fish (1 contract) - 1 contract = 10 metric tons
Copper (1 contract) - 1 contract = 10 metric tonnes
Iron (4 contracts) - 1 contract = 12 metric tonnes
Iron and copper ores (7 contracts) - 1 contract = 15 metric tonnes
Steel (2 contracts) - 1 contract = 5 metric tonnes
Textiles (3 contracts) - 1 contract = 7 metric tonnes
Pottery and ceramics (2 contracts) - 1 contract = 2 million pieces
Coal (1 contract) - 1 contract = 5 metric tonnes
Commercial boat building (2 contract)

The Armed United states of Easy Green would like to take up the to ship building contracts, we are currently re-fitting our hunter class mine sweepers. Currently all our samll dry docks are being used and all our larger docks are being used for anual repair work.
What do you base your prices on? Time the work takes or what work has to be doen?

A little bit of both in fact. Our managers will set out a timetable and if the works go over the projected time then the price will decrease by 2% to 4% per month, this is subject to negitiation.

We would like to initiate a full free trade agreement with your nation. We do good boats, but we are capable of exporting IT.
We are on a mineral rich group of islands, so pottery and ceramics are about the only thing we'd demand from that list. We have highly competitive industries in all these, and if you dont mind multi nationals, you would probably receive an influx of new business from our nation if you let us trade freely.
We manage to have tolerable income equality (in that anyone with a job can live comfortably and most others can still survive) and a powerful economy.
Just slash the minimum wage and increase welfare. That worked for us.

We thank both Coolet and Notquiteaplace for thier offers of free trade areas, however our nation is coming out of a century and a half of isolation, opening the flood gates too rapidly, we feel, would not be in our best interests, especially to such larger nations as yours.
We have viewed histories and assesments of nations that have reformed too quickly and they ended up worse off; however those that liberalised slowly and in a more controlled way, whist missing out on some opportunities short term, have gained in the long run. The latter is the path we have chosen to tread.
We are willing to export and import, but not totally open ourselves up, we are sorry, perhaps a deal can come in the future when our economy is stronger.

Thanks.

We were hoping to simply export actually, as we currently have a trade deficit.

The Guild of Foreign Trade,
The price for fish is currently at $2,900 per metric ton ($2.90 per kilo). So this means that one contract for 10 tons a year will cost $29,000 and if more than 10 tons is needed then up to 11 contracts are available.

We would be willing to buy 10000 tons per year. This would amount to $29,000,000 per year. Money will be wired upon confirmation, and we will contract the collection of said goods by the Guild of Air Transporation.

We understand, when you are ready we can mutually lower trade barriers. But for now, we would be interested in your ceramics offer.
As for new firms, are you sure you arent interested? We will not do anything to move these firms, but if you allow them a few of our firms have expressed an interest in your nation and its new market, labour sources and geographical location (basically anywhere outside the MA is good for transport cost lowering when exporting to other countries... infact that would come under exports for you too...)
But this is entirely up to your government.
Apollina

Notquiteaplace may actually be interested to know that the Apollinan Government is currently slowly liberalising our coal mines, steel works and textiles industries; also we would be happy to allow some retail companies to move in to supply our population with up to date goods that we cannot supply ourselves at this time.
Notquiteaplace
05-11-2004, 12:19
Our retail sector is alarmingly strong and efficient. A few of our more well known companies have been reported to be investing heavily in your nation. There are likely to be thousands of jobs created by the expansion and hopefully millions, if not billions of archipelago credtis/dollars/your currency created for both of our nations.
These companies have coinfirmed these rumours as true.
OOC: you can assume there a few NQP companies set up there now. This does mean I have a vested interest in you and you in me. But only a weak one, but it does mean that my nation would rather see yours doing well than not.

We have a large and nearly empty embassy row right now.
We will certainly do so. (OOC: this assumes the outcome of my civil war, if Danne wins you cant, otherwise, once the war ends, you may)
The rules are that you are linited to fifty guards, who may not take weapons outside the compund. You may take man portable one anti tank weapon and one stinger missile onto it, again they must stay there unless removed with one squad of my infantry present (ie for replacement or maintenance)
You will be within 500 metres of a fast train station, 1km of a port and 6km or a five minute train ride from an airport. You will also be within 200m of a SAM battery. NQP, especially the city is very well defended.
Civil wars due to mad generals excepted, its a safe place.
Your representatives will have diplomatic immunity from crimes of below one year sentance, though we demand any such crimes are dealt with. Crimes of more severity are to be dealt with by us.
If you accept this, then yes, the exchange shall proceed. Provided we are allowed 4 armed guards then we are happy. Though we would prefer to be near a SAM battery.
Our ambassadors could perhaps act as a point of exchange for economic data (allowing your and our economists to study each other's economies to boost our own) as well as any messages and so on.

Notquiteaplace, we will gladly take up residence in that Embassy as soon as we can, and we wish you luck in your war against the troublesome General(s). The terms are acceptable, and we have a site in mind, however we currently do not have an up to date anti-air system, being a small nation coming out of isolation we have not had the chance yet to update our defences, but we assure you it is near the top of our defence priorities.
