On July 18th, 1958, two German prototype submarines were on a routine war game around the coast of Ireland. One of the submarines picked up an odd signal coming from its antique sonar, and the two submarines began to search their maximum depths for the signal origin.
The two submarines crashed into the coast of an uncharted island somewhere around the nation of present-day Greenland, and Germany immediately sent out a search and rescue investiagation team. The international world was stunned by this discovery of land.
On September 2nd, 1958, Germany officially announced that it declared the large island rightfully theirs and would “colonize” and make this new land a part of the German Reich. The United States of America and Great Britain did not like the idea of having their two-time enemy right off their coasts, and began to have diplomatic talks with other nations.
Russia was supporting Germany, and even paid for a radar station and two runways to be put on this new island. The island, which Germany called “Witzgall”, was quickly becoming a large military base. The Russians had just began to detest Americans, and wanted to annoy and displease them anyway possible.
After three years of bickering, Germany declared Witzgall a German-governed nation, and America and Britain became outraged. Almost immediately, Great Britain and France declared war on Germany. However, The United States kept neutral and waited and watched what was going to happen to this now-elevated situation.
On December 20th, 1961, only two months after the war began, America declared its war upon Germany. Immediately following this declaration of war, Russian planes began patrolling the skies surrounding Witzgall and shooting down any foreign planes that did not carry the symbols of the Russian and German Air Force. Four American destroyers were sunk by Russian planes, which outraged the Americans and British greatly. Great Britain and France began assaulting Europe-based German forts and military installations, and Germany was put on the defensive.
The American Air Force began landing in Spanish runways in order to refuel and begin assaulting German and Russian bases. Witzgall’s citizens were appalled by this war over their land, and began to purchase their own arms in secrecy.
On February 2nd, 1962, American troops landed on German soil and began killing the imperialistic “bastards” without mercy or pity. Over two hundred thousand German soldiers were killed in the month of February, and only six hundred Americans were killed.
However, this catastrophe soon became even worse. Russia began to allow its navy to patrol Witzgallian waters and sink any vessels, German or otherwise. Once again, Germany was an international enemy. Japan declared its neutrality after the American killings in Germany, which greatly decreased Japan’s wants to be bombed like hell again.
Russia sunk over twenty British ships before they began an air campaign against the British, which was to be launched on May 7th, 1962. The Russians used a prototype bomber that was loaded with a nuclear bomb to devastate Britain into poverty and peril. Around one million British and American men, women and soldiers were killed in the nuclear blast by Russia.
Even though the Russians helped them greatly, Germany did not like the sound and idea of a nuclear war with America and her allies.
The Witzgallian Royalist Troops, as they called themselves, pledged allegiance to Britain and began killing German soldiers who were stationed in Witzgall. The Witzgallian 500,000-man army slaughtered the German and Russian troops who were on their land.
One-hundred and seven German bombers flew over Witzgall and carpet bombed the entire nation in one day, now remembered as The Day of Death, which is July 1st. Over six-hundred thousand men, women, children, and foreign soldiers were slaughtered in the bombing raid that forced the international community into a state of shock and horror.
Now, almost every European nation declared war upon the Germans. Massive bombing raids and tank columns began to attack German forts and cities, killing thousands.
On November 20th, 1964, after a horrifying 3 years of non-stop fighting, the Germans finally allowed Witzgall to have its own independent government. However, Russia was displeased. The Russians sent their own military force to Witzgall and declared it part of the Motherland. During this time, America was still having diplomatic talks with Germany.
Britain was furious to hear a declaration of independence being stripped away and ignored by a foreign government, and immediately ordered Russia to “cease and desist.” Ignoring the British threats, Russia began constructing a Political House and Government Buildings all throughout Witzgall wile Britain only watched.
Witzgallian men and woman once again rebelled, and they declared their independence and sovereignty. The Americans and Germans both agreed to protect Witzgall from foreign influence until Witzgall had its own substantial defences.
American and Germany both went to war with Russia for six years, and eventually the Russians surrendered and signed a treaty with the Witzgallian National Government.
On July 1st, 1989, Witzgallians were shocked as a new government came into place. Instead of the normal democratic style government, there were now grandsons of the founding members of Witzgall who declared themselves the almighty rulers and one, the evilest man on Earth, declared himself Fuhrer. His name was Matthew Witzgall II.
Matthew II lead Witzgall into many wars, and annexed over 4 nations into the Witzgallian Empire. America once again stepped in, and Matthew II agreed to allow the nations their independence. However, unknown to foreign nations, Matthew II had a major influence in those national elections.
Shortly after the announcement of power, Matthew II was assassinated. His son, Matthew III, then became supreme. He, too, was killed almost instantly after being put into power. Frederick Afilia, a cruel and merciless man, then became Fuhrer. He once again annexed the four nations back into Witzgallian power. This time, however, America didn’t care. Afilia was amazed, and felt so powerful he waged war with two nations at once.
He was shot by his peers on Christmas, year 2000.
Matthew IV was the next Fuhrer. He was believed to have died, but amazingly he showed up and shattered the dreams of democracy throughout Witzgall. Matthew IV was killed during a tour of the Federal Bank by a Nazi Cult, called The Brotherhood of Haven.
The current Fuhrer, Fritz Viechal, has lead Witzgall into a new age of prosperity through militarism. Fritz Viechal, although cruel and very harsh, is liked by more than 90% of Witzgall.
“He is an outstanding leader for the people, even though we didn’t choose him. If Witzgall were a democracy, there is no doubt in my mind he’d be elected,” says one citizen.
