Stranded Diplomats

Progress was going well with respect to settling the new Earth. Strongholds had been chosen, farmlands cleared, industrial sectors designated, and so on and so forth.

So it came as a small surprise one day when one of Cassius' retainers hustled in with a rather worried expression on his face.

"Sir! Sir, I just realized something that we missed."

"What do you mean? We've gotten the infrastructure and personnel organized, expansion plans set up, hell we've even got breeding programs going to make up for our loss from the Guffingford nukes before we got the hell out."

"Embassies, sir."

"What do you mean?"

"We have embassies in a whole bunch of countries on the planet we left, and all of those countries just happen to have embassies with us!"

"Oh. Yeah, I could see where that might be a problem. Might be somewhat disturbing to the foreign embassies here that they can't contact their homeland anymore... heck, there IS no homeland for them, anymore. Might be a tad upsetting."

"What are we going to do about them, sir?"

"Nothing we CAN do at the moment. If we go back, Guffingford will likely take that as an intergalactic F-U and send more missiles at us."

----------------------------------------------------------------------

/ooc now, I'm having trouble remembering who all has embassies in Godular, so I'll try to list what I can. Nevertheless, some diplomats of Modern Tech nations are kinda stranded on a nigh-empty planet.

Countries that we have diplomatic relations with, That I can remember for certain:

Euroslavia
Imported_ViZion
Upper Xen

Countries that I Think we have diplomatic relations with:

Exetonia Minor
Camel Eaters
Apollina
Several other countries I can't remember off hand.

Nevertheless, there is an issue. We are in a currently unreachable corner of the interdimensional medium, with several diplomats that at the present time have no way to get home, or even contact their respective homelands.

Doubtless some of the embassadors will be rather miffed at current circumstances.

If you like, the Xeraphian Federation/Empire of One will be happy to beam all ambassadors to sites of your choosing.

Alaric......King of Xeraph

p.s.: and we would be honored to exchange embassies with you.

/ooc problem is, we have no clue where we are in the interdimensional medium.

We kinda just told the transit device to plop us in a spot where the Godulan subcontinent had simply had its tip shaved off to about one hundred feet below sea level. The computer hunted a viable plane down and then plopped us there.

Only thing is, there's infinite versions of THAT dimension, too.

ok...I don't have the time right now to figure this out, but I will stay in touch if you need us.

OOC - Does this mean our ties are cut? Both diplomatic and trade?

/ooc only until we venture back into NSspace, anyway. At the moment, everybody effectively thinks we're just a crater off the coast of Russia.

If anybody wishes to roleplay their country's diplomats that are very likely in a state of uproar over the fact that their homeland went poof, yer welcome to do so.

Also, for Xeraph: The main problem, which I forgot to mention, is that nobody else knows we're here. In fact they very much think we're dead as a result of Guffingford nuking the hell out of the place we formerly occupied. Considering the fact that we bolted just as the second wave of nukes came in, and that there's no land left where we were, I'd say the evidence of our demise (at least to MT nations) is pretty overwhelming.

No you original had an embassy but I wasn't aware that you were building a new earth. SO we'll just say that I had found out and sent my guys.

Well, not so much a new earth as it is a new homeworld for us. Embassies welcome, soon as we can reestablish a link with normal NS space again.
