Hong Kong/Xonxtopolis (AP)- Today, the Republic of Upper Xen has announced that it will enter into a joint space program with the Armed Republic of Kyanges.

"This is a great day for our two nations," said President Gordon Lew of Upper Xen in a joint statement with the President of Kyanges. "Finally, our two great peoples can now begin to explore space together for the greater good. We hope that this will lead to further discoveries in numerous scientific fields, and provide an example for others to follow."

The two leaders were not specific about its intentions, stating that the project will be used for "a variety of purposes, all commercial, scientific and government-based."

The initial plan for the project calls for the use of a spacecraft designed by Kyangesite technicians to be built in Upper Xen. The spacecraft will then be launched in Kyanges.

Details are few at this moment, as the project is in its initial stages, but more updates will be soon to follow.

My nation does, unfortunately share some overlapping boundaries with you. However, we are technically on another Earth, and the Xonxtopolis part represents the fact the city is named after Xonxt the Great, one of our nation's early heores (yes, we do mix some elements of Half-Life into our nation's history).

--------Kyanges National Republic News Press Release--------

Hong Kong/Xonxtopolis (AP)- The new announcment has caused great celebration in the nation of Kyanges. The Republic of Kyanges and the Republic of Upper Xen had shared a shaky diplomatic relationship, and this new joint project shows signs that the two nations wish to end their disputes and foster added peace in the world. The public has shown that it has high hopes that this new joint project will further the bond between the two former enemies.

The President had this to say, "The Republic of Kyanges is greatly honored that the Republic of Upper Xen has chosen to embark on this joint endevour with our nation. As the President of Upper Xen has stated, this project marks the beginning of a new age of exploration for our two great peoples, and we are certain that this grand endevour into the deep reaches of space will bring great benefits to our nations."

Surprisingly though, the President also denounced the use of this program for military applications which would help to defend the new alliance, stating, "There are already plenty of nations, such as the opressive, and corrupt Empire of Tanthan, that wish to shape space into the next battlefield. However, this project will not folllow in those footsteps. Deep Space is the last realm mankind needs to bring its violence into. Space provides so many benefits, but those benefits, are for all the world."

As the project is still in the initial stages, and has so much still undecided, that many have labled this as a hopless idealistic dream.
