It was time. There couldn't be a more perfect time than now. Due to the recent revolution within Euroslavia, in which Hainan secretly started, their military has been severely weakened. They've done much to hide the fact that they are vulnerable, even including the arms purchases by the fledgling Communist government. Hainans' enemies couldn't have been more unprepared. Therefore, it was decided. The King of Hainan has decided to declare war on Euroslavia in attempts to add Euroslavia as a province.

"Greetings citizens of Hainan. Recently, Euroslavia had begun building up weapons within its nation, starting an arms race within the Balkan Peninsula. We feel that it is our duty to defeat Euroslavia, and put an end to this pathetic race before millions are killed in an inevitable war between Euroslavia and Nikolaos the Great, in which nuclear weapons would most likely be used. Hainan has stepped up to the international scene, and has given the promise to 'liberate' Euroslavia of its Communist government, despite the fact that we put them in place. It is now up to us to put a stop to Euroslavia's existance. I ask of you now, for your support in this crusade. It is of the most importance that we retain a normalcy within the Balkans, which is one of the most volatile regions in recent history. We shall lead our nation to victory!"

With that said, the military of Hainan has begun its mobilization of its armed forces, and will be prepared to launch an all-out assault upon Euroslavia.

Do you seriously intend to avert a possible war that may kill millions by starting a very real war that will almost certainly lead to countless deaths? How does that possibly make the situation any better? For the sake of the lives of the soldiers on all sides, I would strongly urge the King of Hainan to rethink the logic of starting something to avoid it.

We here in Jarridia are outraged at the formal declaration of aggression against Euroslavia. Our two nations have been allies for some time, and as Euroslavia is a member of the WWA, we will come to there aid if so required. OOC:A blockade can be seen as an act of war... and that puts you in a bit of a tiz with me... I didn't send much now because Euro's got so many people helping him now, and I'll be the first on the bandwagon to go at you...

Convoy group Alpha, Med. Sea

It was a rainy and cold afternoon as the convoy sprinted across the Sea at 17.5 knots. They were going to help their ally Euroslavia. The 5 Dangerfield class container ships and 4 Badger class supertankers were each running at that speed. Their escorts were Charles de Gaulle class CVN, 1 Kirov, 1 Cherokee, 1 Ticonderoga, 1 Farragat, 2 Burkes, 3 Chicagos,2 Perrys and a pair of Seawolf SSNs.

The escorts were running at fast speeds in spring and drift. IDF recon assets were helping clear the way. Newly Promoted Rear Admiral Jonatan Smudley was commanding the group. He was in the CIC of the the carrier ISS Shiloh. His group was running on relaxed battlestations.

He was nervous about the situation. His group was to run by the illegal blockade by Nicholas the Great. He would not fire on them unless fired upon. He had 8 F-35Cs up around the clock in addition to hundreds of IDF tactical bombers and fighters along with hundreds more carrier based fighters within 1,500 miles of his position. An attack on this group would be inviting Hell from them. Nah, on 2nd thought Admiral Smudley felt a little bit safer as he saw that a JSF was on final approach to land and refuel on the deck of the Shiloh.

He knew the IDF government had not yet made a reply to the latest demands from NtG concerning the blockade. No tax would be paid by IDF and no ship of their ships would be stopped.

To everyone declaring your support for Euroslavia, we thank you. It just goes to show you how much friends will be there when there is darkness in the path ahead. Those are your real friends.

I am most happy about the fact that multiple nations have pledged military support, and the thought of building a coalition comes to mind....but, I would prefer it if I dealt with Hainan on my own. I suppose its sort of a pride issue...to see if I still have it in me.

We will support the moves of IDF against Nikolaos the Great, as we never knew of a 'blockade' before. This is the only support we will accept. The war between Euroslavia and Hainan will be one on one.

With a small portion of the Macabee military mobilized in Freemantia the Macabee Empire is ready to support Euroslavia in this new war of agression. After the happy times seeing NATOs reaction to an event which had nothing in relation to them (hehe, I tricked you all with the OOC tag just to see how'd you react...you guys are so gullible :-P ), the Macabees are ready for some serious work.

Into the Tiberian Sea slipped ten Toledo class SSNs, moving at a steady rate of 32 knots submerged, at a depth of four hundred meters. The sleek hull, made of a titanium frame, layered with anachoic tiles, moved quickly through the ice cold waters of the Tiberian Sea. In about four hours the submarines would slip into the grander oceans dividing Euroslavia from Freemantia...

The elaborate, mahogany double doors slid open and Doran Routhe, Minister of Foreign Relations, stepped into the magnificently furnished office. Sakai could still see clearly, after all these years, from his manner, that the minister was still exceptionally nervous in his presence.
"Yes, Mr. Routhe?"
The man walked, slightly cautiously, up to the Minister's grand ebony desk, and adjusted his hold on the report nervously.
"Minister, sir, there are reports from Euroslavia. Apparently, the Federation of Hainan has declared war. I thought I should speak with you in person."
He handed the piece of paper to Minister Sakai, who took it calmly and looked over it, thoughtfully.
"Hmm. Our path seems clear. Make a public announcement. Our support is with Euroslavia. But, Routhe, we will not be sending any... resources. I'm sure Euroslavia can handle this on their own."

Sakai nodded, and Routhe turned and walked outside, signalling to the black-clad guards on the doors.
As he heard the soft hiss of the doors closing behind him, he breathed out, and headed for his car, waiting outside.

Convoy group Alpha, Med. Sea

It was a rainy and cold afternoon as the convoy sprinted across the Sea at 17.5 knots. They were going to help their ally Euroslavia. The 5 Dangerfield class container ships and 4 Badger class supertankers were each running at that speed. Their escorts were Charles de Gaulle class CVN, 1 Kirov, 1 Cherokee, 1 Ticonderoga, 1 Farragat, 2 Burkes, 3 Chicagos,2 Perrys and a pair of Seawolf SSNs.

The escorts were running at fast speeds in spring and drift. IDF recon assets were helping clear the way. Newly Promoted Rear Admiral Jonatan Smudley was commanding the group. He was in the CIC of the the carrier ISS Shiloh. His group was running on relaxed battlestations.

He was nervous about the situation. His group was to run by the illegal blockade by Nicholas the Great. He would not fire on them unless fired upon. He had 8 F-35Cs up around the clock in addition to hundreds of IDF tactical bombers and fighters along with hundreds more carrier based fighters within 1,500 miles of his position. An attack on this group would be inviting Hell from them. Nah, on 2nd thought Admiral Smudley felt a little bit safer as he saw that a JSF was on final approach to land and refuel on the deck of the Shiloh.

He knew the IDF government had not yet made a reply to the latest demands from NtG concerning the blockade. No tax would be paid by IDF and no ship of their ships would be stopped.
A Greek Eurofighter pilot on scouting spotted the IDF fleet in the Mediterranean waters.

“This is Eurofghter #23 reporting in. IDF fleet spotted.”

“Intercept them.”

“Roger that.”

The Eurofighter dived down to the fleet. The pilot started sending a transmission to the fleet.

“You are approaching the Greek blockade. Please turn back if you do not wish to pay $50,000 for each ship passing through.”

A Greek Eurofighter pilot on scouting spotted the IDF fleet in the Mediterranean waters.

“This is Eurofghter #23 reporting in. IDF fleet spotted.”

“Intercept them.”

“Roger that.”

The Eurofighter dived down to the fleet. The pilot started sending a transmission to the fleet.

"Sir!" yelled the Comms Officer on ISS Shiloh "The Bogie is hailing us."

"Don't respond," ordered Rear Admiral Smutley. "Just ignore him. This is the free seas. If he fires our forces are right near." The Admiral turned to the Air Controller a few consoles down in the CIC. "Get a pair of F-35s on his wings."

"Yes sir!"

Over the Med

"Mad dog 1 copies," said Lt. Ryan Flemming when he received his orders. He could not be happier than he was right now. He was flying the stealthed F-35B JSF.

"Mad dog 2, this is 1, follow my lead," said Flemming to his wingman. "We have a POS Eurofighter to intercept."

"Roger 1," replied the wingman.

“We will send two destroyers to intercept them. That might get there attention. Keep following the fleet. 5 more Eurofighters are on the way.”

Two AEGIS Destroyers with 5 more Eurofighters flying over them where approaching the fleet. The two destroyers headed toward what looked like to be the command ship. One was on the right side and the other on the left. The cannons have been aimed at the ship.

“This is AEGIS Destroyer #1 contacting IDF ship. Please follow us or we will use force.”

“Eurofighter #24 reporting. Those IDF scums are ignoring me.”

“We will send two destroyers to intercept them. That might get there attention. Keep following the fleet. 5 more Eurofighters are on the way.”

Two AEGIS Destroyers with 5 more Eurofighters flying over them where approaching the fleet. The two destroyers headed toward what looked like to be the command ship. One was on the right side and the other on the left. The cannons have been aimed at the ship.

ISS Shiloh
Admiral Smutley was watching a situation around him deteriorate. He knew IDF was in the right here and that it wasn't likely NtG would risk the destruction of their whole Navy and nation because they wanted a $50,000 tax.

"TAO!" called the Admiral. "I want you to have the Chicago class Aegis FFGs to move in and meet the enemy ships. Tell them to not fire unless fired upon."

"Yes sir," said the TAO.

"Radio, I want you to hail the ISS Guillen and request that Fleet Admiral Joseph Jacobson sends aid," ordered Smutley. He was not scared in this case. IDF was a maritime power that put great emphasis on the Navy. She was in a better situation on the sea with all her custom ships that were better than anything that NtG would throw at them. He also knew that numerous bomber wings of Tu-22U Backfires were ready on a moments notice to ruin the day of NtG if war began. The Admiral was still hoping it wouldn't come to that, but with NtG's history of being a hot blooded warmonger, that didn't seem likely.

ISS GUILLEN

Admiral Jacobson was 350 miles from the Shiloh convoy group. The NtG fleet was in range for the far reaches of his 18 massive 30" ETC guns. They were well within range for his TASMs. The CinC of the IDF Fleet had what was arguably the best fleet on the Med.

"Radio," began Jacobson. "Tell Admirals Turner and Wolff to move their fleets in on the rear of the NtG fleets. Also make sure the Naval Air Stations and Air Force bases are ready. I want my backfires ready to inform these bastards of what shit is if and when they attack."

"Yes sir!" answered the young officer. "What alert do you want them on Sir?"

"Tell them to be on Alert 15-20," said the Admiral. "I want you to tell the Admirals to have all carrier aviation groups to have the maximum number of Alert 5s and also have Alert 15s."

Above the Med
The movement of the enemy planes was not unnoticed. Admiral Smudley had his Farragat DDG's power up the SPY-1G Radar to 12 million watts and put it down a half degree angle to light up the planes. Each Aegis ship did this to one of the planes.

The Carrier ISS Yorktown, lead ship of the Yorktown class sent up 16 of her F-35Cs. They were far better that the POS Eurofighter and had stealth capabilities. The ships were sent from that carrier to send a message that Shiloh was not alone, it also gave Shiloh's pilots some down time and showed NtG they were outnumbered in Naval power.

Admiral Jacobson had a surprise up his sleeve. He had made sure that the fleet based at Kerguellen had left completely to the Mediterranean. They were not there yet, but moving them would allow the IDF fleet to move the whole Red Sea/Indian Ocean fleet North through Suez. About half the fleet had already come through the Canal.

There was another surprise, this one under the ocean. Jacobson moved all 14 of his commissioned Halibut 841 class SSNs were in the Med with dozens of other boats of other classes including the Ohio SSGNs with the new version of the shipwreck missile.

About 12,000 yards away from the 1st Aegis DDG was the ISS Halibut commanded by Commander Hyman G. Rickover III. He was on only his 2nd deployment as a commander and the 2nd deployment of his submarine. He was moving at a slow 4 knots. He had his TB-32 thin line array. He had his SONAR crew listening to the fast moving destroyer while he slightly below the layer at a low reactor setting, but he had the ship at battlestations and was prepared to rig for ultra-quiet at 10K yards. His sub was already at battlestations with the Fire control team working a solutions on Masters 1 and 2. Tubes 1-4 were loaded with Mk-48 and 5-6 had Harpoons. With a simple 3 letter message on the ELF, he would have orders to fire, but for now this was just practice for his crew.

Admiral Tasos Agiopoulos was viewing all this on the radar screens of the command ship.

“Damn it! I knew this blockade was a bad idea. We might not stand a chance against IDF at sea…”

“Admiral what do you want me to do?”

“Well call off the AEGIS destroyers and the Eurofighters. The blockade is now over.”

“Yes Admiral.”

Admiral Tasos Agiopoulos was viewing all this on the radar screens of the command ship.

“Admiral what do you want me to do?”

“Well call off the AEGIS destroyers and the Eurofighters. The blockade is now over.”

“Yes Admiral.”

"Admiral!" yelled an excited Radar Officer. "The NtG fleet is turning back!"

"Are you sure," asked a skeptical Admiral Jacobson.

"Yes Sir!"

"OK, Comms, tell Admiral Smutley and the rest of the fleet to stand down their current alert status. I think we may be steaming home soon. Tell him to get all forces away from the NtG forces. The last thing we need is an accident occuring here."

"Aye Sir!"
