The Empire announced today the creation of a new sport that will entertain mankind for years to come: Ice Shelf Racing.

The sport makes use of the Antarctic ice shelfs. Explosives are placed along fracture points of ice shelves. The explosions caused by the devices break the shelves off from the continent of Antarctica, allowing them to float freely into the ocean. Propellers and engines are then placed on the back of the ice shelf(s). Different teams then race their mobile ice shelves northward. Various locations are already selected for destinations.

The team that reaches the equator first, while still having a big enough block of ice to float on, wins. If no team reaches the equator, then the team that goes the farthest north wins.

If you want to try a real man's sport try mountain racing. Going down a mounatain on your stomach at hundreds of miles an hour. Oh, be still my quaking heart...

More dangerous, eh?

Each "ice-boat" will be allowed to arm themselves with cannons and artillery. They will fire at their competitors and try to break the other boats into small blocks of ice.

OOC: Ummm, isn't that kinda bad for the environment? Hint: The Day After Tommorow? I know the movie exaggerates, but I don't think breaking the ice shelf off of Antarctica is going to be great for the environment...
