In a startling change of policy, Jigglemaster Enigma has announced a reversal of the current anti-gun laws and has ordered legal civilians to be issued powerful assault weapons for self defense. The Dictator stated this to be the only way to help alleviate the current terrorism problems. Any citizen wishing to own weaponry must take a course to be certified in the usage of the chosen weapon, and this is currently being done according to military standards.
In other news, the assault rifle being developed to replace the Sarkaraset Assault Rifle has been delayed due to the military shifting from the old, Klonor-style ships to those produced by the Siesatians. The increased firepower of the shift, as well as increased numbers of both ships and personel, is expected to help in the defense of borders and allow for increased ranges of exploration. Civilian-style ships are expected to be produced later this decade. The old military ships have been sold to the nation of Merlyns, who got merled out of fourteen billion.
In other news, the Orbital Platform over Terrator, expected to be named by the end oof next year, will be host to an automated ship production plant within a year. The actual building itself, to be constructed on one of the already-finished portions, is expected to take only four months due to a combination of Taverils and DLEs working on it. The machinery, however, is currently being adjusted for the new styles of ships and new technologies acquired, which is only expected to take a year.
And, the area of missiles, the Dunzekoffic Corporation has announced plans to create a new style of missile launcher, this styles after the famous miniguns. While having obviously limited uses, the resulting weapons system may be able to fire missiles at a faster rate than most systems currently known to exist. The military has yet to invest more than the standard one hundred twenty-five million in this project.
And for our final story. The earlier announcement of a strange spacial array has been confirmed as a sensor glitch. It turned out to be a combination of spacial debris and an ion storm, with the ion storm possibly creating the debris from as-yet unknown ships. The resulting energy distortions have been shown to adversely affect both sensors and the current FTL Jump drives employed by both the Taverils and ourselves. Scientists are currently in the process of deciding how to deal with this glitch.
