OOC: I may just make this an issue

Foxtrot News
In recent news, a man in prison was recently executed after thirty years on Death Row. The convict, Robert Nielsen, had twenty eye-witnesses and even admitted to stabbing to death his wife's whole familiy after was caught three states and thirty people later. Nielsen pleaded guility and was sentenced to death thirty years ago and executed last night. This has sparked a debate in Congress on what to do.
Senator Faulk Upters, a liberal from HALO island, said, "We cannot let this Sunday-Monday mentality where we convict a man on Sunday and hang him on Monday go on. This must stop, and stop now!"

"On the contrary. I believe that this 'Sunday-Monday' attitude would work. It will make more of a deterrent to the criminal. They do the crime, and they're out of time." A Conservative member from Iwo Jima stated.

"You know, we don't have to do either. We give them two appeals, and if both are turned down, we execute them on the way back to jail. Its more fair to all parties." The Moderate from Georgia was quoted as saying.

Nice. For an amateur. In my nation we have psychics who probe the people's mind. After a good "mind-raping" session as most convicts call it we can accurately determine whether to not someone is a felon. Then we kill them in the most horrible way imagineable. They listen to Cher while they're tortured with a cookie mixer.

We're a little kinder, we use the firing squad armed with .22 caliber rifles with incendary rounds, the electric chair hooked up to a nuclear reactor, and radiation poisoning (we just throw them into a live nuclear reactor), and the "Space Shot" where we throw them out of the airlock of our colonies using a railgun and send then to the Sun.

OOC: Looks like a good issue to me.

IC:

We at the Guilds tend to execute our criminals the day after their execution, because we believe once a judgement is made it should be carried out promptly & swiftly.
