"This is Joseph Mladic of the White Peoples Radio and Television Network... Human Rights, the mere mention of those two words in the same sentence is enough to make a sane man sick with disgust and contempt. The muddled liberal ideals that certain rights extend to all people and transcend race and borders, well the very ideas are sick and contemptuous."

"The idea that borders are meaningless and that the negro in Africa is the brother to the Mississippian in Egypt, Western Sahara, Ohio, Kentucky, or indeed anywhere in our Commonwealth, it is sick and wrong. Thus we deem it necessary to call a conference to discuss human rights issues in the world. The primary concern being the recent wave of anti-KKK persecutions."

"While we will not beat around the push about our stance on the non-white peoples, we do not advocate genocide and persecutions against them. We believe in separate but equal and in deportation of undesirables. Everybody has the right to life, even animals do. And hence if animals are permitted to live, why should negroes not be? Makes sense, yes... Well anyway, the conference will be held in Biloxi. Reserve your spots now. As always, standard security procedures are in affect."

"Standard procedures, land in Tennessee and be searched before being cleared for entry into Mississippi... You all ought to know the drill."

The plane was guided by MiG-41 Good Ole Boys to an airbase in Tennessee, the home of the 3rd Tennessee Commonwealth Parachute Division. The plane was to be surrounded by an infantry brigade and an armored car company and then searched top and bottom by two squads of MSAAS.

Ooc- Sorry, either edit that or you're out of this now, if you know anything about my regulations, which you don't, and didn't bother to ask... Your men would be so shot full of holes right now. We don't allow foreigners to bring any firearms, knives, or other weapons implements into our nation... You can't just "land" at the airfield, there is usually the requesting to land, then I RP letting you land... I didn't say, "Hey in the sake of time, let's skip all that", in this RP, we have time, so we can land and have fun. But anyway, you're in Tennessee right now, being checked over left and right, top and bottom. The plane is basically being searched top to bottom before being cleared to proceed. Anyway, you "platoon" of men, would be immediately disarmed, detained, and repatriated to your nation. So that is just what'll happen, you can leave that the same, but here...

Ic-

As the platoon of soldiers stepped off the plane in Tennessee, they noticed an entire brigade of parachute infantry was surrounding their plane and the other few planes that had landed thus far. Two platoons of MSAAS rushed forward and ripped the guns out of the hands of the shocked Alutians. They then proceeded to handcuff each of the soldiers and blindfold them. After that, they radioed the Alutian government, "What the hell are you doing sending combat soldiers into our nation against our regulations, are you mad!"

Yeah, I'm sorry, but no you don't. 30 minutes away from Biloxi would put you in my airspace. And nothing enters my airspace without getting a greeting from my SAMS, AAA, or fighters/interceptors. And let me ask you this, can your B-1s dodge 30-40,000 SAM sites scattered across Mississippi? Can they dodge 3,000 MiG-41s and 10,000 F-16Ds? Didn't think so...

Be fair warned, people my size, hell people twice my size don't scare me, (Reference the FSI crisis with the Democratic Colonies and his side staring down at basically me, the sole protector of FSI) so why in the heck do you think I'd be scared of a nation so new it isn't on our maps? There is something called humility, I suggest you gain some before I decide to blow you back into the stone age for having the nerve to threaten my nation, people, and national honor.

My armed forces (all branches, counting commonwealth) are about 1/3 the size of your entire nation... That isn't even counting the MPMC, WKMCK, VG, and MLA (proxy armies I have that total about 25 million)

So the lesson here, is know your place, first of all, if you knew anything about my nation, we don't give a flying freak about world opinion, or how many people hate us... We just don't care... And secondly, we're not really afraid of anything.

We would like to send a representative to this conference, however we have reservations about sending diplomats into your country as our people are of mostly Jewish descent and, well, let's just say your country's policies in the past haven't looked too kindly on the Jewish people.

If you could assure their safety (from ordinary citizens, not Mississippian officials - we trust you operate with the utmost professionalism, but we understand the concept of human rights is a disliked one in your country and, should any incidents occur, Jewish diplomats would be prime targets for mob-mentality violence) we would definately be interested in sending a representative. We are happy to adhere to any regulations you have as reguards to traffic in and out of your airspace.

I'm sure we can find a few caucasian diplomats to attend (the Governor of Paztrom, Kelonia's capital state, is blond and blue-eyed - though his wife is Jewish; we're not all Kikes, you know) if that's more to your liking - provided those in charge don't mind that the ones they'll be mostly speaking on behalf of will be Jewish as well as white.

In light of this turn of events, however, we would like to point out that, for a human rights conference, it's not off to a very good start if whole races are in mortal danger for even attending.

You seem to forget that there is this thing called a 'missile', and if you have good ones, along with fire control electronics and RADAR or LiDAR of sufficent quality, you could reliably shoot down F-22s with WW1 Focker Triplanes if you wanted to.

And that's totally discounting the SAM batteries, too.

Mekantan view of Human rights... (And all of this is very public knowlage.)

You have the right to ask that we not put ketchup on you.
HOWEVER... We have the right to tell you to suck it and put ketchup on you anyway. Mekantans like ketchup. Almost as much as they like Human flesh.

You have the right to complain.
HOWEVER... We have the right to torture you and/or remove your vocal cords if you complain too much. Also, see below...

You have the right not to be raped.
HOWEVER... Mekanta has no concept of rape, therefore by Mekantan law, rape doesn't exist and this is a moot point.

You have the right to be food.
And you probably will be.

You have the right to serve Mekanta.
And you will. Either as labor, or as entertainment when they see how long they can make you suffer in unimaginable agony before you finally die.

So... yeah...

The F-22's stealth system only reduces the range at which it can be detected; it doesn't make it invisible - hence, you would be exposed to reduced SAM fire, but still be shot at.

IIRC, the F-22 can be detected, on average, at ~1/3rd the range that an F-16 can be.

Also, there are other missile guildance methods; laser, IR, offboard radar, etc.

We require the immediate release of the Alutian USDF special forces unit. If they are not released, offensive action will be taken against the city where they are held, and the release will have to take place by force, if not by peaceful negotiation. The MTO regrets being forced to waste its precious militayry assets to retrieve the troops you seized.

As true as this may be that they can be "detected" They show up as a blur instead of a steady blip so the SAM fire wouldn't really have any chance of hiting them. Also all modern aircraft have cooling systems that make them very close to invisible against IR missiles and you really can't stick a laser on a plane thats going around twice the speed of sound.

Captain Alynn Voss winced in the bright Mississippi sunlight. In front of her, the enigmatic Diplomat Frazie, who had spoken not a word on the trip from Karasitha to Earth, seemed unaffected. He was always like that, unconcerned with what was happening around him. He scared her a bit.

Teron Frazie, for his part, smiled inwardly. He could feel the discomfort of the woman behind him, and it amused him a bit. He had imagined naval personnel to be cool, a bit superior, and experts of fine wine. The rather quiet Captain of Marines was not what he had expected at all. He was far more interested in the upcoming negotiations, however, and awaited their DA escort impatiently. OOC: I see you already let a FT nation in, though I'm probably a little late. You have my word no fighting will break out unless your own men start it. If you say no, I'll leave quietly. The Earth colony doesn't have any ships or anything apart from light arms anyway, so they couldn't cause much trouble if they wanted to. Apart from the fact that they're essentially large, humanoid reptiles, your men might get along with them, actually...

IC:

Omicronis Island, Earth -- Ghargonian Military Command Outpost

It annoyed him greatly that he was still on this rock. The ship that had been promised to him had still not showed itself. And for the past few days, all contact with the homeland was lost completely. He could smell those humans, even though the island was fairly isolated in the largest ocean of this world.

"Still no contact with the homeland?" Captain Grak, colony commander, asked the young lieutenant.

"Negative sir," he shook his head. "No direct contact, not even any escaping transmissions."

"Keep looking, lieutenant," Grak said.

"There is another signal though, from Earth," the lieutenant said.

"There are lots of signals from Earth, lieutenant," Grak snorted. "Their gibberish never seems to end."

"But it's one from those humans the Ghargon said he was interested in," the lieutenant protested. "'Mississippi' I think he called the place."

"Oh, those humans," Grak rubbed his chin. Another chance to secure himself a ship and a ticket out of here?

"Some sort of 'human rights' conference," the lieutenant continued.

"Har har," Grak bellowed. "The term 'human rights' always makes me laugh. They should have the right to a bath, and nothing else, the stinking animals..."

"Nevertheness, the Ghargon did say he found these humans interesting, sir," the lieutenant reminded him.

"Alright alright," he said. He leaned over the console. "Send a message, in their language on their frequencies: Ghargonia's Earth Colony wishes to send a small observation team, participation welcomed but not required."

"OK..." the lieutenant typed out the message, put it through the translator (their computers lacked human alphabetical buttons), and sent it. "It's away, sir."

"OK then," Grak nodded. "What do we know of them, lieutenant?"

"Erm... very xenophobic, even for humans," the lieutenant said, thinking hard. "I'd be surprised if we even got a response. They're ery confident of their superiority over the other humans of this planet -- possibly they think they're superior to all life, period. I believe they claim to be devout followers of one of this world's many religions, officially at any rate."

"Great, superstitious humans," Grak sighed. "Why the Ghargon has interest in them is completely beyond me. Though I suppose he'd kill me for doubting him."

"I would recommend Gerash escorts, as weapons of any kind are confiscated on landing, assuming they don't open fire as soon as they see them," the lieutenant continued. "A team of three Ghargonians along with two Gerash guardians is my recommendation."

"Alright, I'll go with that" Grak nodded. "Take a flier, remove all it's weapons and take out anything advanced enough to attract their interest. The last thing I want is the humans getting hold of our technology. Rig the micro-core to go critical if it detects non-Ghargonian or Gerash tampering."

"I'll get someone on it sir," the lieutenant nodded. "Do you want me to have the flier restored if the humans refuse access, or do not reply?"

"May as well," Grak shrugged. "We don't have many of them as it is. Carry on lieutenant -- and tell me if you hear from the homeworld."

"Yes Captain," the lieutenant nodded. He brought his arm up and slammed it against his chest in a traditional salute. Grak did likewise and strode out of the room, wondering just how much interaction with the mammals he could take before he quit the military and went freelancing.

As he said that, two RG men present at the conference promptly arrested her, handcuffing her and dragging her off towards a vehicle that would take her to the nearest RGIS HQ (About two miles away)

Then again, it might be good that I am here, because knowing you you’d mess up things even more. Why can’t you ever keep your mouth shut?”

Captain Voss, a Reform Jew, said nothing, but her eyes, if you knew her well, did all the talking necessary. She quietly pushed both her emotions and Star of David necklace down, and stepped forward to shake hands with the man before her, putting on her best diplomatic smile.

Well the DISDB can't either, but at least the DISDB is mature enough about it not to shoot at us everytime they see us."

"Captain I've got something," the lieutenant shouted as Grak was about to leave the room. He turned and walked back over. Leaning on the console, he read the message and sagged.

"Great," Grak nodded. "Cancel the refit of the flier, lieutenant. Prep it for lift-off instead."

"Yes sir," the lieutenant nodded, moving his chair to another console and sending out orders.

Grak reached over to the communications system, and pressed the 'send' button.

"Lieutenant Kravis and Commander Pok, dress uniforms on and be ready for departure at flier pad 2," he said. Speakers outside blared the announcement over the whole base. "And bring your human dictionaries. Two Gerash Guardians report to flier pad 2 for unarmed escort duty."

Twenty minutes later, they were ready to leave. A small, red plane-like craft sat on a concrete pad, a ramp at the rear whirring shut. Two large jet thrusters were positioned on the end of the wings, which were raised like those of a bird of prey going in for the kill. A long cylinder, rounded at the front and narrowing to a point at the rear, held the two wings together. Four windows on either side revealed the passenger area, while the large glass window that curved across the front revealed the cockpit. Small holes at either side of the cockpit showed where low-yield air-to-ground weapons turrets would normally have been.

The flier was an atmospheric runabout, its propulsion operating on principles similar to that of a Harrier plane. The large jet thrusters rotated slightly, pointing down, and the flier roared as it raised from the ground. It dropped down slightly as the thrusters turned and pushed it forwards. She came full circle over the military base as she turned to head for Mississippi, accelerating to 600mph and rising into the air.

"Sir, I don't think I can do it," the pilot said to Grak, who leaned over him in the small cockpit. "It's been years since I last tried it."

"You have to do it or we'll be shot down," Grak insisted. "This isn’t a figher with shields, it’s a flimsy flier. You're the pilot, make the frekking request."

The pilot groaned as Grak turned back to the passenger area and left the cockpit. He pointed his head down, snapping his jaws, and cleared his throat.

"Ghargo...Ghargonian flier 2," he growled, struggling with the English. "Requesting permission to... to..." He glanced down at a datapad with various phrases on it, and looked back up again. "Requesting to enter Mississippi airspace and... land?"

"Nice," his co-pilot said when he cut the transmission. "We land and you'll be carted off to school."

"I'm not getting out," the pilot snorted. "Just those guys in the back. We're taking the flier to a safe distance. In case they try and investigate it."

"Oh," the co-pilot nodded. "Good. You bring those wildercat legs?"

"In the freezer," the pilot nodded. He turned the flier in the air, circling a position just outside the borders of Mississippi until he got clearance.

Ooc- Yeah, sure, send them, just realize it's assumed they've been thoroughly searched and so they have no weaponry or harmful instruments of any sort (well you could jam a pen in a guy's eye, but no knives, etc)

Any policy of bodyguards because my diplomats, representatives, ambassadors, etc. always go with, at minimu, two bodyguards. There would only be two or four present for this guy. We are a paranoid nation.

Grak looked around curiously as one of the smaller humans was taken away. Something about thought crime.
He shrugged, leaving them to their curious ways. He found that his 8-foot frame fit surprisingly well into the human seats, even with his bulky metal uniform. It was creaking a little under his weight, but it was comfortable. The Gerash weren't so lucky, but their comfort shouldn't have been on anybody's list. They stood up against the wall behind them instead, snapping at each other once in a while.

"I agree with the human from 'Mississippi'," Grak said finally. His English was fluent, if gruff and snarling. He hoped the humans didn't take it as a menacing tone. "Surprisingly enough. What can the weak contribute if they have allowed themselves to be lowered to such a state of weakness in the first place? If any civilisation is to survive with any sort of power in this universe, it must purge itself of weaklings. It is the very foundation of our culture. If you are unable to emerge successful from any challenge, you deserve your fate. If you are unable to recover and learn from your failure alone, you should die -- save everyone the trouble. An entity should be allowed to accomplish anything he or she is able to accomplish -- there should just be no help along the way. You do not deserve it if you do not earn it."

The man chuckled, "The DISFB, or the Department of Internal Security Foreign intelligence Branch, hates us, the Republican Guard Intelligence Services, because they view us as competitors for the Czar's favor... We being part of the RG, are currently amongst the Czar's favorite intelligence associations... The DISFB can't stand it... Well the DISDB can't either, but at least the DISDB is mature enough about it not to shoot at us everytime they see us."

As he was speaking, they passed a DISDB car, and a glass beer bottle shattered on the RG car's windshield... The man laughed, "See... That is their maturity level..."

The man nodded. "I see, bitter rivalry, am I correct?"

The man nodded his head as he pulled into the RG HQ parking garage, "Yes, bitter rivalry... They hate us, we hate them... That sort of thing."

"Yes, I believe I would find it very hard to work with the DIS," the Duke told them. "So, is this the place?"

The Duchess was still slightly irritated at being accused of ‘thought crimes’, but she was interested. “Tell me, how does this work? Is it similar to a lie detector?”
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 00:24
The RGIS operative smiled and nodded, "Yes, similar... Just answer to the best of your abilities... I will begin soon..."

After a few minutes of calibrating the machine and readying to read her brain wave activity, he started...

"Please state your name, your date of birth, your current age, your height, your gender, your hair and eye color, and your measurements..." (these are just control questions, if she lies, they'll know it, and be able to make double sure the machine is working)

The guard smiled, "You missed the last question, your measurements..."

There was no real need for him to ask her this, he was just being a jackass about it, but they'd been nice enough to her thus far, much nicer than the DISFB would have been. Nobody liked being taken into custody by the DISFB, especially women...

It was common knowledge what the DISFB, mostly diagnosed sadists, did to women... But these men were the RGIS, elite and chivalrous, men with a code of honor... But that didn't stop them from asking people questions they'd rather not answer.

Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 02:10
The RGIS operative nodded his head, and then grinned, "Perhaps we should turn you over to the DISFB, eh?"

He was totally bluffing, he wouldn't wish the DISFB's attentions on his worst enemy, but she had no way of knowing he was bluffing, all she knew is what she heard about the DISFB from her nation's media.

In the last ten years, the DISFB had murdered over 800,000 "domestic enemies" and assassinated over 5,000 "Foreign enemies" of the regime, and that was just known killings. They had also been reported to use rape as a form of interrogation and even rumored to hold "Raping contests" in their different departments.

The Duke flagged down a taxi, which drove them back to where the conference was taking place. On the way, the Duchess ranted about the way the RG had treated the both of them and her brother just sighed and tried to block her out.

They reached the conference a few minutes later and they both stepped out and entered the conference room.

17-11-2004, 03:46
Field Marshal Reginald Smith, had received a copy of the report via his cell phone, a virgin with such looks and measurements, he had to have her... He walked over to her, bowing before her, "Duchess, I trust you were not mistreated by the RGIS?"

Ooc- Smith is considered by most to be the most handsome military figure in Mississippi.
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 03:47
"It would depends on what you would consider 'mistreating'," she said.
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 03:54
Smith shook his head, "Well, some people don't know how to treat a lady of your position properly... Did you know that I myself am not only a Field Marshal, I am a member of the nobility... The duke of Hinds County..."

He then grinned and whispered to her, "Would you like to go visit one of my estates? I'd be honored to have you... With me as a guest at my estate..."
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:07
“First you have me arrested and now you want to invite me to your estate? I think not! I’ll just be happy when this conference is over.”
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:10
Smith shook his head, and in a calm tone said, "No, no, no, you don't understand, I had no choice but to arrest you, for your own safety... When the DISFB heard that you were in the area, they were plotting to abduct you for whatever insidious purposes they might have... I bet they tried to get you on your way to the RGIS HQ... Please, you'll be much safer and probably have a lot of fun, if you come with me, what do you say?"

He gave her an innocent look and his tone was such that whatever parts of his speech were bs, she couldn't tell at all. Smith is a well-known smooth talker.
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:16
“Whatever would the DISFB want with me?” she asked in a heated tone. “Either way, I’m perfectly safe with my brother and I have some pressing duties to attend to at home.”
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:19
Smith frowned, whispering to her, "You're a noble, the DISFB hate nobles, they're a largely peasant and middle class organization, they probably wanted to do unspeakable evil against you..."

He smiled at her, "What say you come to my nearby estate with me for a while, you need somewhere to stay tonight anyway... The conference isn't starting really until the Czar arrives, and he is busy with matters of state, he'll be busy most of the rest of today..."

Smith added, "If you wait around, I can get you to meet the Czar, what do you say? Shall we go?"
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:22
She sighed. "I'll need to talk to my brother about it."
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:25
Smith smiled, "Yes, take your time... But try to hurry, it's best if we get there before it gets too late, the earlier we get there, the more activities there are to do... Shooting, horseback riding, whatever you want to do, it is possible, well probably most things are... If you want to fly a MiG-41, I can arrange it."

17-11-2004, 04:34
The two siblings spoke quietly in a corner. The Duchess didn't want to go, but her brother said they'd probably get stuck staying somewhere incredibly cheap if they didn't. The woman finally agreed after several minutes of arguing, and the Duchess told him, "Yes, all right."
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:35
Smith smiled at her, "Good, let's go... You'll probably want to give your brother the number were he can reach you, yes?"
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:39
"Yes, yes, what's the number?"
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:40
Smith handed her a business card of his and circled one of the numbers, next to the words "Biloxi Estate". He handed it to her, "Here, give that to him... Then we should probably head on out..."
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:42
She took the card and handed it to her brother, who stuffed it in his pocket. "Yes, fine, we can leave," she said, waving goodbye to her brother.
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:45
Smith gently coaxed her forward, making light conversation as they walked out. He led her to a limousine parked outside the conference center, his driver opened the door for them and he helped her get inside. He got in after she did, the driver shut the door, went to the front, got into the driver's seat, started the limousine, it quietly hummed to life and then started off...

Smith was sitting right next to the dutchess. He looked over at her, "Is there anything that I can get you, a drink perhaps?"
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:47
She shook her head. "I'm fine."

17-11-2004, 04:50
As they were pulling off the main road and down the estate property road, she looked around, counting no less than five hundred guards near the front perimeter. There must have been twenty or thirty T-98 tanks, and twice that many ZSU-23-4s and SA-19s and other AAA and SAM weapons. Smith smiled, "You'll be safe here, don't worry about anything, this place is totally sealed..."

After the car stopped in front of the mansion, they both got out, she looked up, it was three stories high and stretched for about four hundred feet in either direction. Massive and with superb architecture. He smiled, "Shall we proceed on inside then?"
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:51
She nodded and got out of the car, straightening her hair the slightest bit.
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:54
Smith walked her into the mansion, taking her to one of the large living rooms towards the middle of the house, he sat down on the couch, patting the spot right next to him he asked, "Would you sit with me, please?"
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:55
She sighed and did so, with some reluctance.
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 04:57
He casually yawned and moved his arms up in the air, one going behind her back, be brought his hand to rest on her shoulder as he moved over towards her and pulled her closer towards him, "This is nice, isn't it?" he said with a smile, "Comfortable, eh..."
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 04:59
She tried not to let her annoyance show on her features, and instead tried as best she could to shake him off and move a bit farther away from him. Lying a bit, she asked, "Is there anything to eat?"
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 05:01
He smiled, "You are hungry? I was hoping that could wait until we were done..." He grinned and then leaned in, gently kissing her on the lips as he softly pulled her close up against his body...
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 05:13
The Duchess was shocked and appalled. She was wondering if she should be more angry at her brother or the man who was kissing her. She pushed the thought aside and pulled away from the man, standing up, growling.

He hid a slight grin, "I was just thinking that perhaps as we are both nobles, you might have wanted to relax a little, since from what the RGIS has told me about you being shot at and such, I assumed you'd be very tense... I could help you to relax some if you'd like..."
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 23:15
“Safe from who?” she asked angrily. “I’d probably be safer with my brother right now, and frankly I’d much rather be with him. And I can deal with my own problems, thank you very much.”
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 23:18

"Attempt to kill me? When, exactly, was this?"

Smith sighed, he wanted to sleep with her quite badly, and was certain that he wouldn't get to... Although he was also certain that the DISFB did indeed want to harm her, and for her own safety she should stay at his estate.

He smiled, perhaps with more time and effort, he could manage to get her into bed.
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 23:43
"I was told that was because the DISFB and the RGIS are rivals, isn't that true?"
Decisive Action
17-11-2004, 23:46
Smith nodded, "Yes, I'll be honest, that could be the reason, but the DISFB hates most foreign nobles, they hate most all nobles, domestic, foreign it makes no difference. But you as an outsider, a foreigner, will probably be tolerated even less by them..."

He then shook his head, "Well anyway, do you want to get something to eat?"
Eldanor
17-11-2004, 23:50
"Yes, fine, what is there?"

18-11-2004, 00:06
"I don't know, venison?"
Decisive Action
18-11-2004, 00:09
Smith chuckled, "Ah yes, we have wonderful venison here... You'll love it, come, this way, I'll take you to the dining room."

Smith took her to the dining room where the food was already waiting, it had been a five minute walk through his large mansion and in that time, the servants, who had been listening to the room they were in, made sure that her food was brought up to room they were going to eat in.

They had been making venison that day anyway, and so it was just her luck that there was no wait.

"Yes, it's quite good."
Decisive Action
18-11-2004, 00:33
Smith smiled, "That is good..." He said, as she was nearly finished eating he suggested, "So, what do you want to do next? Swimming?"
Eldanor
18-11-2004, 03:19
She pushed her plate away from her and dabbed her mouth with her napkin, then stood up. “I didn’t intend to go swimming at all on this trip and I neglected to pack a bathing suit. I’ll have to turn down your offer.”
Decisive Action
18-11-2004, 03:46
He shrugged, "You could swim without one, I wouldn't object... I mean, I could loan you a suit..."

Smith shook his head, "Oh well, I have some nice horses, perhaps you'd like to go riding?"
Eldanor
18-11-2004, 03:57
She ignored the swimming comment. "Yes, going riding would be nice."
Decisive Action
18-11-2004, 04:05

Ooc-
Smith is quite nervous as he isn't used to being around too many noble women, indeed he's never had sex with a noble woman, his wife isn't a noble she's middle class... But she doesn't mind, indeed she encourages him to have as many lovers/mistresses as he wants, because 1) He wants lots of kids. 2) He's too horny for her to handle...

Decisive Action
18-11-2004, 04:17

He then sighed and frowned, "I'm sorry about how nervous and jackassish I must seem... I'm just not used to being around such noble women as yourself, especially such beautiful ones as yourself... I guess that might help explain that debate we had back at the conference, I'm actually more of a moderate on matters of human rights."

Ooc- He has moderated over the years, his massacres against POWs were mostly in the late 80s early 90s time frame. Now he is regarded as pretty level-headed by top government officials.

“I really don’t know, I guess I just had to keep telling myself that I needed to keep living and that I couldn’t bring them back. The pain went away over time, and now it’s just a tiny ache. But I still remember them all.”

Reginald nodded, "Shall we continue with the ride then?"
Eldanor
22-11-2004, 05:31
"Yes," she told him.

Reginald smiled at her, "Thanks for talking with me about that stuff... It made me feel better, I guess I can take comfort in the knowledge that I know Robert was a good man and he is a better place now." He chuckled in a show of nationalistic pride, trying to make himself feel even better, "The only place better than Mississippi is heaven itself."

She smiled slightly herself. “Yes, I’m sure he was a good person, and you probably have every reason to be proud of him.”

As the horses were gently carrying them towards a nearby stream, Reginald spoke, "Yes... At one battle in the Western Sahara, Robert's column came under fire, six BMPs were hit, two were knocked out, in one of them, the people were trapped inside, he jumped in and started tossing them out, as he was leaving, it exploded, sending him flying into a nearby ditch with burns all over his body, it took him six months to fully recover from that... He won the Medal of Sacrifice for that, our highest medal. He had over twenty wound bagdes, six assault badges, two Fabus Cross 2nd classes, and a Fabus Cross 1st class... But he was most proud of his Medal of Sacrifice. We all were proud of him, and what he did for his comrades in the Western Sahara."

“A very, very admirable and brave thing to do. I would be proud, too. I’m sure he deserved it, and you must have been happy that he was so highly honored.”

Smith quietly nodded and then said, "Yes, we were all proud of him..."

Suddenly they came upon the stream, it was beautiful, perfectly cleared so there was no bacteria, algae, or anything in it, is was cleaned almost daily when weather permitted. There were colorful flowers and expertly arranged plants and hedges around the approaches to the stream.

He smiled, "Do you like it?"
Eldanor
23-11-2004, 02:10
“Yes, I must agree, it is quite lovely,” she said, looking over the stream and all the flowers positioned by the banks.

Reginald sighed, "Robert loved to come up here alone and sit for hours thinking about his problems..."

He then smiled a bit, "I've kept it just the way he liked it, and as a sort of tribute to him, there is a statue of him behind this clump of hedges."

Smith jumped off his horse and moved off a few feet towards the stream, pushing some hedges out of the way and holding them out of the way so she could see across the stream and to the other side, where there was a large marble statue, the size of a tall man, it was such that he was waving a pistol in one hand, with his other hand urging men onwards, his uniform was sculpted to appear to be wafting in the wind.

The inscription engraved on the base of the statue read, “Major Robert Smith. Mississippian Special Air Assault Squads, 32nd battalion. Battle of Bir Gandus, Western Sahara. September 2004.”

She read the inscription on the base carefully, then looked up. “He seems like a real special guy. One of a kind, I imagine. It’s nice that you would keep this place as a tribute to him.”

Smith nodded his head and smiled, proud of the accomplishments of his son, "Yes, he would have liked it like this... I keep his room in my estate just as it was before he left. Nothing has been touched, he was 16 when he shipped out, first into the Mississippian Foreign Legion, then when he was 17 he got into Republican Guard Officer training, he became and officer in the RG just before turning 18, made the cut for the RG Special Forces, and then he was inducted into the MSAAS after he was offered a chance to compete and he made the grade."

She nodded. "Yes, I remember my parents, they were such good, caring people, and they did a lot to help Eldanor when they were alive. My mother, she helped me with so many things when I was little, I remember when she first taught me how to ride a horse," she smiled fondly at the memory.

Reginald nodded, "Yes, fortunately my parents are still alive, old yet still alive... It's awful though, my boy dying before me, I didn't want to have to bury him, he was supposed to bury me, you know the old saying though, in peace, sons bury their fathers, in war, fathers bury their sons."
Eldanor
29-11-2004, 03:10
"Yes, I know that saying. It's sad, though."

Reginald sighed a bit, "Do you mind if I smoke, it seems to take my mind off all of relatives I've lost to war, assassinations, and such... My son wasn't the only one, most of my uncles, many of my cousins, they have fallen in war or been struck down by assassin's bullets."
Eldanor
29-11-2004, 03:22
She shook her head. "No, no, I don't mind at all, if it makes you feel better. It's hard to think and talk about, but sometimes it helps. I never wanted to talk about my family after their deaths, but once I finally did, I felt better.

I'm sorry that you have had so many relatives die. It must be very hard."

Reginald lit up a cigarillo and started to smoke it, he jumped back on his horse so he was level with her.

He suddenly extended his cigarillo holder towards her, "Would you like one?" he asked.
Eldanor
29-11-2004, 03:33
"No thank you. I don't smoke," she said, shaking her head.

Reginald nodded and tucked the holder away as both of the horses started to move on, carrying them to another area down the banks of the stream... He looked around, the mosquitoes were starting to come out, "Want to head on back, it's getting dark, the bugs out here will eat you alive if you're not careful..."
Eldanor

“All right, let’s go in, I think these flies are already starting to bite me,” she said, swatting a few away with her free hand.

Smith led the way back to the stables and when they got back he fed and watered both of the horses before brushing them each for a few minutes, tasking a servant to finish brushing them.

He then turned to her, "Well, what now, anything in particular you want to do?" he asked as he tossed his cigarillo into an ashtray located nearby.

The Duchess frowned slightly, and then spoke. “No, I don’t believe I do, is there anything in mind you would care to do? I’m willing to do just about anything at the moment.”

29-11-2004, 03:52
Smith shook his head, "No, nothing I really want to do, I'm tired, probably just go to sleep." With that, he started to walk towards the mansion door, a door located on the side. He stopped to make sure she was following, "You going right to sleep then? I'll have a servant show you to the best guest room in the house."
Eldanor
29-11-2004, 03:56
“I think going to sleep a little early would do some good, thank you.”
Decisive Action
29-11-2004, 04:01
Smith nodded, "Yeah, that's a good idea." he said as they entered the mansion, he then pointed down the first hall, "Your room is the second door on the left... My office is the fifth door on the right, I'll be in there for a while, then I'll be asleep upstairs. If you need anything in the next hour or so, my office is where to find me, after that I ask that you get a servant to help you unless it's dire..."

That said, he walked off to his office so he could start drinking in peace.

She nodded. "Thank you," she told him, and walked down the hall and went into her room.

A short while later, she was suddenly startled from her sleep by the sound of yelling and a bottle smashing against the wall a few rooms down. Reginald was somewhat drunk and he was yelling at himself, cursing himself for letting his son join the RG and later helping him get into the MSAAS.

The Duchess had been sleeping soundly until she was woken by a noise. She suspected it was a bottle being broken. She listened for a few minutes and heard Smith yelling at himself, and supposed he’d been drinking. “Great,” she groaned. The woman rolled back over and pulled the sheets over her head in hope of blocking out the sound.

Smith broke down and started crying, continuing to drink from another bottle when there were breaks in his crying and cursing of himself.

He then looked up at a portrait of his son above the fireplace... He frowned, whispering, "It's all my fault..."

He slowly walked over to his desk and opened the top center drawer, there was a pistol, an empty magazine, and a box of ammunition in it... He took all three out, setting them on the desk, he looked at them, "Hmmm... A sign perhaps?" he started to slowly slid the ammo box open, looking at each individual round as he wondered if he should do it. He put one round into the magazine, "That wasn't so hard, was it?" Before he started to slide the magazine into the weapon. He finished that and pulled the slide back.

He was still crying somewhat and it could probably be heard for a few rooms in either direction...

He then dropped the pistol, it crashed on the floor and discharged against the wall facing the outside of the house, going through the window. The loud noise interrupted everybody's sleeping, nobody in the entire mansion could have missed it, however none of the guards really cared, if their boss had just shot himself, it was really his business, they knew nobody else was in the house and so there was no cause for alarm.

The Duchess, who had almost drifted back to sleep (she falls asleep easily), awoke with a start and a small gasp. She got out of bed once more and cracked the door. She peered down the hallway towards Smith’s office. “Was that what I think it was?” she murmured to herself. She crept down the hall and knocked on the door. “Are you all right in there?”

Reginald opened the door, pushing it open as he struggled to stand, he looked like a wreck, the most handsome field marshal in all the federation looked like a bum, he'd fallen apart after his son died, hardly a night went by he wasn't drunk.

He sighed, "Yeah, I'm okay, unfortunately... Sorry if I woke you..."

His breath reeked of liquor, expensive liquor but liquor nonetheless.

It only took one quick glance to tell that he indeed was drunk. She could smell something on him, and she didn’t have to guess. She did frown slightly at his words. “’Unfortunately’? What do you mean by that? You look like a walking disaster; I think perhaps you should go lie down.”
