Somewhere in the jungles of Aequatius Secundus, 500 kilometres West of Vanaheim
Engineers along with members of the National Labour Corps began to clear trees and underbrush to lay concrete slabs for foundations for temporary buildings. The project foreman monitored the laying of chain-link fence along the perimeter of the proposed camp as workers strung razorwire along the top of the fence. This would be the first of dozens of similar camps constructed throughout the nation to combat the growing crime rates, especially within the youth population.
The Aequatian National Security Bill signed only days earlier gave birth to the camps along with the Aequatian Staatspolizei (State Police) which was empowered with the detection and capture of criminals, traitors and otherwise diviants to the Republic, the enforcement of laws and regulations and the issuing of punishment and containment of prisoners.
As the crews continued to construct the buildings for the camp, the sign was erected at the main gates over the double, razor-wire protected steel chain-link fences which simply read "Kriminallager I." Just a few hours away in a state prison just outside the city of Vanaheim were the first batch of prisoners to be transported to the camp for the duration of their sentences.

The Manor, Magna Casa, Aequatio
There had been quite a buzz around the capital, with the signing of the Aequatian National Security Bill and the creation of the State Police force and the construction of the camps, the media within the Republic was eager to learn more of the ideas that Chancellor Ingram was to put forward while in power.
The Chancellor entered the room from a sidedoor and the room was bathed in white light as flashbulbs went off as a thousand moments in time were captured of the leader as he walked to the podium with the new Aequatian flag drapped over its front,
"Fellow citizens, I come to you today to explain to you my vision of a stronger, unified Aequatio for not only ourselves, but for the generations to follow.
The National Security Bill and the Staatspolizei are only the first step in our journey of improvement and empowerment within the world. What I, along with the rest of the nation, desire is a true Aequatio... free of influence from outside nations and the elimination of those that seek to undermine it under the guise of diplomacy when their true intentions are espionage and revolution.
There are those out there that would love nothing more than to watch our society crumble and to see the eradication of the Aequatian people, well this is our response to that:
As of this morning, I have breathed life into a new organization which will work in conjunction and co-operation with the Staatspolizei in the destruction of traitors, foreigners and those that do not have the heart and spirit of a citizen. The Sicherheitstaffel or "Security Echelon" will see that those that wish to undermine the power of the Chancellor's office or the unity of Aequatio are not only brought to justice, but also suffer for their crimes.
One Aequatio, united for the protection of the citizenry and its future!"
And with that, Chancellor Ingram stepped down from the podium and exited, nearly blinded again by the sea of cameras and flashes.

Aequatio News Net Report
If you're not a citizen, you're not welcome here! is the common sign seen on places of business around the nation since the creation of the Sicherheitstaffel and their recent campaign of cracking down on those who live in the Republic without proper citizenship. As of this date, nearly 50,000 have been arrested by the Staatspolizei and sent to the Kriminallager prison camps and state prisons throughout the nation.

There is said to be a large number of people living within the Aequatian Republic without citizenship papers or even proper identification. While most arrests by state police have been uneventful, the recent display of resistance by those in lower-income areas of the urban areas and outskirt rural areas through violence have forced both Staatspolizei and Sicherheitstaffel units to react with deadly force. An illegal refugee camp, on the Eastern coast held out against police forces and forced them to call support from their close air support wing to bombard the camp so that ground forces could eliminate the camp's rebels and arrest those that were left.

Of the estimated number of occupants is around 150, only 28 surviving members surrendered to Staatspolizei forces when they finally entered the camp after air strikes by helicopter gunships. They were escorted from the area and are now being processed for imprisonment in one of the many Kriminallager camps.
