In a shocking move today, Greenmanbry Military Command has decided to sell off a signifiant portion of its naval vessels to an ally, Ottoman Khaif. The move came after the Department of Defense received concerns from the Ministry of Finance directed at the huge operating budget required to maintain Greenmanbry's large military. The Navy has been consuming trillions of dollars in DoD funds for the past decade, and Military Command has noticed a significant portion of the Navy is not in operation.

The number of combat vessels in the GMB Navy shall decrease from the current 1,110 warships to a more economical and maintaineable 942 warships.

168 warships are being sold to Ottoman Khaif. These include the GMB Navy's Thirtieth Assault Battlegroup, as well as GMB's Twenty-First "Baghdad" Fleet. The composition of the warships being dispatched to OK are as follows:

============================================

Although the value of the contract is estimated at 320 billion dollars, OK has decided to pay 1 trillion Ottoman Dinars, the equivalent of ~1.435 trillion dollars, for the delivery of the vessels. Although some critics questioned the rationale behind this decision, the Ministry of Finance welcomed it. (OOC: :D)

This cut in the number of naval vessels will shave over 200 billion dollars in annual operating costs of the GMB Navy.

The United Islamic Alliance, although a member of the Ottoman Alliance, and a very strong ally to the Muslim brothers of Ottoman Khaif, are showing a strong concern in the sudden build up of Naval forces for the Armed Forces of Ottoman Khaif.

To quell any concerns of the United Islamic Alliance, the buildup of forces in Ottoman Khaif is a matter of national security, or so we believe. The Ottoman Navy has only 400 or so vessels, and is looking to increase the number of warships to better compete with today's naval powers.

Also, we applaud the action taken by Ottoman Khaif. They came through for an ally which happened to be in a financial mess immediately before the controversial GMB elections taking place right now.

Besides, we believe buying military equipment for Ottoman Khaif's army is Ottoman Khaif's business. They wanted vessels that were dragging us down under. We gave them the vessels. If that constitutes a call to war, well then I'll be damned.

Sounds like a perfect reason for a build up in Naval Forces.

The Ottoman Goverment is honored to get these ships.As the extra funds we give for them...its a gift from Ottoman Khaif to Greenmanbry.
