For the third time in a row, Aron Christopher listened to the tape he had just recieved. Finishing the tape, he finally sat back, obvious worry-lines appearing on his forehead.
"How could that be?" He wondered aloud to no one. "9.5 million plus people? We're barely pushing 5. Granted he can make service compulsory, but... How can we stand against 9.5 million? He'll throw everything he's got into this. He undoubtedly has allies as well, bolstering his forces. Our army can't nearly stand against his, even if we went all in, which we can't, we still only have half their numbers at best. The Danversians can't help defend themselves, they have a minor army at best, they'll be decimated. Maybe we should just let it fall. No, we can't abandon our ally, nor do I want to." After thinking back to the conversation he heard minutes ago, a horrible realization came over him. "Coldwater...that's where one of their 2 military bases is. Oh my god, they're gonna blow Coldwater!" He scrambled to look up the population of Coldwater, a city in southern Danversia. The computer screen read: "Population of Coldwater, Danversia: 1.7 million"

Meanwhile, two men drove an 18-wheeler into the parking lot of a McDonald's in Coldwater. "can I take your order?" asked the attendant. "sure, I'll take a big mac, large fries and a nuke please." "a what?" "here, let me show you."
with that the driver pressed a large red button. A flash came from the truck that would have blinded anyone nearby if they weren't instantly vaporized by the nuclear weapon...

Alexander Pesta stood before the crowd of 1 million soldiers, waiting for the signal. One of his aides came up, tapped him on the shoulder and nodded to him. It was time.
"My brothers, you may wonder why I have brought you all together today. Why you were asked to join in the glorious military of Anapest. I have an answer for you. Our time has come. Our time for vengence has come. Long has the evil emperor of Danversia oppressed our people. Long have we been lied to, told that our ancestors were weak. The only thing weak about our ancestors was the Sultan at the time. He gave in to the emperor and his murderous ways. And look where it got him. Centuries of oppression. But no longer my brothers! Today, your leader is strong. Your leader will not give in to an illegitamate ruler. It is time for us to have our revenge! Just as they stole everything from us, let us too steal from them. Today, we fight for the honor of our fathers! Today, we fight for the freedom of our sons! Today we fight for glory! For honor! For freedom! For Anapest!"
The crowd erupted in thunderous applause and cheering. The roar was defeaning, but Pesta still spoke above them.
"I call out to you, citizens of Anapest, to aide me. Help me to overthrow this tyrannical King and bring an end to their illegitamate empire! Likewise, I call out to all foreign governments! To anyone who values freedom, to anyone who values honor, to anyone who wishes to bring an end to oppression, aide me! Help me bring down the Danversian government, help me put an end to these oppressors to the north!"

Pesta ordered the army to start moving. Using thousands of troop transport trucks to bring them into Danversia, the 1 million soldier column began marching through the streets of the Danversian towns and cities, killing all governmental officials. Meanwhile, Sezaar prepared to move the real army in.

Aron Christopher scrambled to pull together some more verification on the possibility of a nuclear attack. He had already advised the Danversian government not to let any vehicles through the border with Anapest, but the terrorists could already be in the country. Just as he was preparing to call the Palace in Romana, one of his aides came rushing.
"Sir!"
"What is it Jim?"
"Mr. Prime Minister, there's been an attack on Danversia. A nuclear bomb, we're unsure if it was a missile or a bomb, but either way Coldwater is leveled. There's nothing left."
"Dear god, what have Noah and Edward said?"
"No press release yet, they're in a panic. They want to get out."
"Send the AX 1 and get them out of there, take the royal family and aides and Claron's family and aides, but no one else. They can set up a g.i.e. here. Go, now!"
This was it, war was on it's way. A bead of sweat dripped from his forehead as he called the General.
"General Paso, I need you to deploy the 1st-5th Infantry Divisions and the 1st and 2nd Marine Divisions to Romana."
"Yes, Mr. Prime Minister. How soon do you need them there?"
Aron looked down at the news report just placed on his desk.
"I need them there yesterday, George."

Today marks a day that will be remembered throughout history. The city of Coldwater, Danversia was hit by a nuclear weapon earlier today. Loss can not be calculated yet, as no one can get anywhere near the city, but death tolls are expected to be in the millions. Along with the city, Coldwater Army Base was destroyed. It seems that Alexander Pesta of Anapest is responsible, but he was unavailable for a comment today.

Suspicions that the nuclear weapon attack in Coldwater earlier today was confirmed as an army of approximately 1 million Anapestic soldiers began marching through Danversia. So far, Anapest has laid claim to the major cities of Cingera, Smitho, and Lynchonia. It is believed they are headed for Romana. Alexander Pesta was unavailable for comment. The Danversian government issued a statement saying, "we will do absolutely everything in our power to drive out these invaders. This attack is entirely unprovoked and we call on the international communities to help an innocent victim of a horrendous attack."

The Commonwealth of Nalecia asks you to rethink what you are doing. Your flagrant attack upon this innocent empire will undoubtedly lead to many lives being lost. 2. Usage Problem.

The Government of Turetel has issued that it will support neither cause at this time. Unsure of how or what the rebels are (politically) and what the empires ideals are (politically/civil as well) we are unable to pledge support at this time.

Head of Civility Crystal Mist has issued a statement in favor of the Empire and wishes to know if she or any aid group of Turetel would be able to help in anyway.

Head of Forces Jackson McAbb (7th Term HoF) issues a stance of being neutral toward either party and advises other parties to do so as well.

Head of Trade/Commerce Earl Watson sides with Jackson in the facts are unclear at this time. He is also speaking to several Capitalizt Class Business's and Corporations to strike some sort of agreement of support.

The Rebels have the support of the Turetelian State Congress, by a vote of 7-4, this vote is crucial to the support of the Rebels from anyother leader, most notable at this time would be HoC Crystal Mist.

The Empire has the support of the Turetelian Congress, by a vote of 417-303. This is crucial for Jackson and Watson to plead their case for the Empire.

OOC: The nation of Turetel is split on the issue of assistance toward either party and wishes that each party clarify its position politically. Thank you.

The Premier is being briefed on this latest developement. He is displeased. Nuclear weapons are messy and create problems for the whole world. Even Caldaron's nuclear arsenal is designed to minimize aggravated damage.

However, the Premier is not satisfied with the available intelligence and will not affirm a position in this incident at this time.

The Soviet Navy has dispatched a small task force (3 ships) to monitor the situation actively. Lead by Rear Admiral Vincent Raines, the task force is comprised of the CSS Rakshasa CBN-146 (Ravana Battleship), the CSS Executor CCN-239 (Bellicose Cruiser), and the CSS Devourer CCN-241 (Inquisitor Cruiser). They are not to engage either side unless provoked or so ordered by the Premier.

A dark day in Danversia today as King Noah III, Queen Penrith, Princess Sophia, President Edward Claron and his family all left the country. They have set up a Government in Exile inside the Allied States of Axario.
"We still have complete control over the country and our citizens should not worry." Said President Claron in a speech from New Scion. "We ask that all citizens remain calm and order will be restored shortly."
Apparently not heeding the president's advice, refugees have begun fleeing Danversia en masse, and the traffic to go through the Axarian border is backed up for over 10 miles. The ASA has currently not released any statement regarding the large amount of refugees, but it is expected that their borders will not remain open forever.

"Are there any more questions? If not I have matters to attend to."

General Georgio Sezaar rode in the back of a specially designed Hum-vee, the million man column marching behind him. The column itself was only for shock value, a third of the men weren't even armed. But who wants to fight when you see 1 million soldiers marching into your city? Now they were headed for Romana, the capital. As soon as they reached the city's borders, they would wait for the rest of the army including the army to arrive and occupy the city properly. Sezaar figured this would all be over in days. He had heard that the King and the President had fled, but it didn't matter, the primary objective was the city itself, not the President and King.
The column arrived at the entrance to the city, but Sezaar encountered something he did not expect at all. Before him stood hundreds of Axarian armor and soldiers barring the way into the city. He did not expect Axario to get involved, especially not to this degree. He brought the company to a hault and waited.

"Mr Pesta I have one more question" said the Nalecian reporter. "What are you planning to do in Danversia?". She looked at him waiting for a response.

King Noah III and President Edward Claron of Danversia announced today that they wished to join the Allied States of Axario. The appeal was brought before Parliament and passed with a nearly unanimous vote.
"Danversia is now part of the Allied States of Axario," said Prime Minister Aron Christopher after Parliament accepted Danversia into the Alliance. "This means that any further attacks by Anapest onto Danversian soil will be met with severe reprocussians (sp?). An attack on Danversia means an attack on Axario!"


Meanwhile in Romana:

"You are hearby ordered to cease your attack and return to Anapest." The loudspeaker at the head of the Axarian blockade gave Sezaar instructions. "Any further advancement will be met with force!"

"Mr Pesta I have one more question" said the Nalecian reporter. "What are you planning to do in Danversia?". She looked at him waiting for a response.
"I plan on liberating the Danversian people. Once we have successfully ousted the Danversian government, we will help the Danversian people institute a government that will have better relations with Anapest." An aide came up and whispered in his ear. "I'm very sorry, but I have pressing matters to attend to."
As he walked down the hall, he addressed his aide. "What do you mean 'there's a problem'?"
"The Axarian army is blocking us from getting into Romana. They say if we don't leave, they'll declare war."
Pesta sat at his desk and thought for awhile. Going to war with Axario was a huge decision, Axario was a major power, but not impossible to beat. He made up his mind after about 30 minutes of silence.
"Give them our reply: send MiGs"

20 MiG-29s soared toward Romana, ready to engage the Axarian ground forces.

"General! Look!"
General Carville ran over to the Lieutenant that had just called his name. He pointed to a radar screen that showed 20 blips moving at high speed from Anapest.
"Shit! I guess they didn't get scared. Alright, engage from the AS Kotor."
"Yes sir!"
On the AS Kotor, one of Axario's Nimitz Class Carriers, the call came out for the planes to scramble. Within minutes, the entire flight of F/A-18s rocketed to intercept the MiGs.

The Nalecian reporter from the press release drove rapidly towards the border with her camera crew in their van.

Meanwhile in the skies over southern Danversia...
The 15 F/A-18s came within firing distance of the group of Anapestic MiGs.
"We have the bogeys in sight, command. Permission to fire?"
"No, all groups hold your fire until it is clear that they are a threat."
Suddenly, 10 of the MiGs peeled off from the group and headed toward the F/A-18s.
"Alright, they want to fight, let's fight. Delta and Fox groups, engage the ones headed for you. Gamma, engage the ones heading north."
"Roger. Engaging now."

The Lieutenant standing in the face of the massive column of Anapestic soldiers, the one who had given the announcement for them to return home, noticed that the column of troops had begun to turn back. At first having hope that maybe this conflict would be over before it began, he was told the awful truth.
"Sir, we have columns of Anapestic Armor on radar heading for Romana. Also General Carville is on his way, he said spread our forces out over the city, they'll try to come in from other directions."

"This is a dark day for Axario." Aron Christopher had hoped it wouldn't come to this, especially right before the election. Not only could this make him look bad and cost him the reelection, but it could make the whole Democratic-Republican party look bad. People were already choosing one of the two more prominent parties, Socialist and Federalist, more often. It was becoming increasingly difficult to get Dem-Rep nominees into office. Christopher had an outstanding record, but war didn't look very good. The only thing that acted in Christopher's favor was the fact that technically, they were attacking Axarian soil. "For today, as issued today by me, the Prime Minister of Axario, the Allied States of Axario hereby declares full war on the Republic of Anapest."

The top military officials in the ASA all stood around a map, discussing how they were going to handle all of this.

"All right men, here's the situation. Anapestic forces have taken the southern region, up to here." General Carville drew a red line on the map of Danversia. "That's solid Anapest. Our influence extends here." He drew another line, this time blue, on the map. "However, we don't have the Nortic Ocean, the Fruity Loops navy pretty much has control over the waters there, I don't want to risk a naval assault without more outside help, it could cost us our whole navy." He drew red circles where the Fruity Loops navy was located. "Right now, we're moving troops in via bridges to the north, pulling jets into Romana AFB, and bringing armor into Romana through the airport." He drew a number of blue x's and arrows to show where their forces were. "And here's what we know of Anapest." He drew similar red x's and arrows. "And as I'm sure you're well aware, the active fighting right now is taking place just outside Romana, here." This time he made a yellow circle. "Hopefully those that pledged support to us will move in soon."

"Well, if it's war they want, it's war they'll get."

On numerous airfields throughout The Lightning Star

The Lightning Starain Airforce was, once again, preparing to bomb an enemy of the SEATO Alliance. Although they had taken heavy damage in the war against Hataria, the Airforce had quickly replenished its planes and pilots. Now they were getting ready to do the signature Lightning Starian move, City Bombing. If they could manage to put down the Anapestian peoples resolve, the war would be over. At 10:00 P.M., over 1,500 airplanes took off from over 400 airfields all over the world, including the airfields in Roach Busters. They were armed with many types of weapons meant to destroy, but by far the most common payload was Napalm. There was enough Napalm to fill up the Great Salt Lake in Utah, and it was ALL gonna hit one place, Anapest City. Anapest would now learn why the Lightning Starian airforce had earned the nickname "The Frying Force".

While we are disappointed in the use of weapons of mass destruction by ceratin parties against other parties, we are also disappointed against all countries that have chosen to involve themselves on an internal conflict and have risked their own civilians for a cause that isn't their own.

The guard got lost in the reporter's beautiful eyes for a split second then snapped back to attention.

Sir Nigel D'Arby was about to leave his office after a long and difficult day. He had been receiving radio, television and intelligence reports about the Danversian conflict all day.

"Damn government officals can't make up their minds about this conflict", he thought to himself. He had just closed the door to his Private room into his main office when one of his aids burst through the main door. A veteran of several conflicts during his lifetime, Sir Nigel was quick to slide to beside his desk and draw his personal fire arm before thinking and seeing who it was that had rudely burst into his presence.

"Don't do that Alex!", exclaimed Sir Nigel, once he had composed himself, "you nearly got yourself killed, you know I've been on edge over recent events with Axario."

"That's why I'm here Sir", he handed over another report while catching his breath after a quick sprint from his own office. "This is detailing recent losses with the conflict, it is from a report in Anapest and conflicts with our intel. from the Axario side of the fence, badly."

As Sir Nigel looked over the figures, he thought to himself, "this may be enough to get their approval". To Alex he said, "Send a copy of this directly to Central Command and tell them to move now! I'll take this to those incompetant Bastards downstairs and tell them we can not allow an ally to suffer like this."

"But Sir......"
"Do it, do it now! Go, go, go, oh, and organise a press conference to start in half an hour" said Sir Nigel as he nearly shoved Alex out the door. Within moments Sir Nigel had contacted all of his relevant cabinet members and had them in a meeting room downstairs. It didn't even take 15 minutes to persuade them to agree. It was then a quick rush to the press club for a hasty "message to the nation report". Sir Nigel hated the things, but new the trouble he'd be in from his wife when he got home if he didn't keep the people 'informed'.

"Only a short time ago after discussion with my cabinet, it has been decided that New Logan will enter the Danversian conflict and support our SEATO ally of Axario. Regional forces had already been mobilized and were standing by, the order has now been given for our forces to enter the conflict. New Logan will not stand by and see a fellow member of an alliance be invaded and occupied by a foreign neighbour. We will push the Anapest forces back to their homeland beyond the Mortian Mountains where we will assist Axario in reinforcing any border points along this vast mountain range to prevent such an invasion from ever occuring again. There will be no questions tonight, but there will be more information in a press pack you can collect from my aid and further reports in the next few days, goodnight to you all."

With that Sir Nigel made a quick trip home to grab some things and have a VERY quick meal with his wife. He planned to get back to work as he new he'd be very busy for some time yet and he could stay in his private rooms behind his office. Just as his limo dropped him back General Andrew Mcmasters arrived also, "looks like we're in it for the long haul now Sir."

"We sure are Andrew, who have you got out there for this one?", asked Sir Nigel.

"One of our best, and I think she'll out shine herself even more this time round."

"Natalia?", Sir Nigel had known Nat for many years, almost as long as he'd known Andrew, he knew she was intelligent, committed and worthy. Unfortunately, he also knew McMasters had a bit more than a 'proffessional' interest in her.

"Yes Sir, she flew out last week and is ready for Central Command and Tactical Command to contact her."

"I've alerted Central already, so the ball is rolling. It won't be long now."

Colonle Bill Johnston paced back and forth in his office. Colonel Jonhston was commanding officer of Tiny Prussia's Army Special Forces Group (ASFG) of about 1,000 soldiers. He had been antsy ever since the conflict in Danversia began. A messenger burst trough the door.

"Sir I have word from the congress!"
"Yes?"
"The congress says no go."
"God Dammit!" He sat down at his desk. "Im sick of this. We need to be over there keeping those Anapestians the hell out of Danversia."

"Sir that's not all." Bill's eyes widened.

"Sir the Chancellor has given you the ok to commence limited combat operations."

"He want's to make it perfectly clear to you sir that we are not officially in this and that anyone you send over into combat isn't offically there."

"Yea I figured somethign like that. Damn good. Bless that hawk! Sergeant I want Platoons Bravo and Charlie of the 3rd in a bird and up in the air within a quarter of an hour."

Platoons Bravo and Charlie of the ASFG 3rd Recon Company have boarded a transport plane and from Axario requests a preferred landing zone.

"So what's on the agenda today Jen?" Aron Christopher welcomed his secretary as he prepared to start another long day.
"Well Mr. Prime Minister, we got in the first reports from the front line regarding casualties."
"And?"
"Estimates say about 2,500."
"Damnit, that's bad. Press have them?"
"Yes sir, just as you asked a package is on the way with the numbers."
"Good, anything else?"
"We have the results of the recent polls."
"Oh god, and?"
"The populace overwhelmingly supports the war."
"They what?!" Christopher shot up in his chair.
"Yes sir, they support it. 87% of those polled say that going to war was the right thing to do."

The call ended and the reporter lowered the phone. This time speaking to the soldier she said "It appears we have a change in plans, so I won't be neading any further that way" She pointed past the soldier to Danversia. "Goodbye"
And with that the van headed back up the street. But the soldier noticed a little piece of paper at his feet and on it there was cell phone number and the words "Keep in touch".

Following contingencies laid out in the ATAPRI (Ancient Terran Asian Pacific Response Initiative), the Republic of Ancient Terra has agreed to deploy a substantial force of aircraft and naval vessels to support allied operations in the region. The 2nd and 4th Divisions of the Terran Strategic Air Command, totalling over 300 bombers, have been mobilized and placed on immediate alert for launch. They have targeted key fortifications along the borders of Danversia currently held by Anapestian troops, as well as large troop buildups. Major Anapestian population centers are currently held as a tertiary target, but High Command is reluctant to attack anything directly in Anapest territory.

The bombers will attack with primarily fuel-air explosives and cluster bombs, as well as masses of precision guided and gravity weapons. In the meantime, elements from the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 9th Fleets will be enroute to the oceans off of Danversia and Anapest to effect a full blockade of the area and support the advance of New Logan troops and equipment.

In the meantime...

The four major airfields clustered around Terra's capital, Tellerus, were extremely noisy for the time of day...around 2:15 AM, to be exact. The largest airfield in the region, General Idane Airbase, was operating at its full capacity...all 30 major runways were crowded with heavy bombers and tankers awaiting takeoff. The majority of the aircraft were of three types: the lightning-quick, stealthy EB-1C "Vampire II", the massive, lumbering EB-52 "Megafortress", and the diminutive (and extremely difficult to detect) EB-2B "Spirit", better known as the stealth bomber. A number of heavy tankers also waited in the takeoff queues. Although these aircraft appeared standard to most people, the people flying them knew differently...these aircraft were highly modified versions of stock aircraft, and as such sported specialized systems such as LADAR (Laser Radar) and Mission-Adaptive Control Surfaces. The roar of afterburners and powerful turbofan engines echoed for kilometers around. All in all, 348 heavy bombers were now in the air, the entirety of two divisions of the TSAC, winging their way towards the troubled nation of Danversia. These aircraft had their targets: a massive line of fortifications and troop deployments along the coastline. It was these bombers' jobs to clear the way for allied naval landings...and that was just what they were going to do. With most of the aircraft sporting bombloads in excess of 60,000 lbs, there was no denying that they sported enough firepower to finish the job.

The plan called for the aircraft to approach Danversia from dozens of different directions and to stagger their approach, in order to frustrate enemy air defenses. The first stage called for the 28 EB-2Bs and approximately 18 EB-1C "Vampire II's" fitted for the HARM and Wild Weasel roles to surpress enemy anti-aircraft defenses. The second wave consisted of the main body of aircraft, more than 300-strong, to unleash their payloads with near impunity. They would then return to Admiral Talus Naval Base in Gradenk, a mere 3 hours flight away, reload, refuel, and then make a second run on whatever Anapestian forces were delaying an allied advance. When the allies took the city of Romana, it would be far easier to operate from there and Terra's bombers could then strike at the heart of Anapest...but for now, their sole job was to clear the way for New Logan. The first wave hit Danversia in less than 12 hours.

At the same time, nearly 160 naval vessels were making their way towards Danversia. Diverted from their duties in the South Pacific, the entirety of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 9th fleets were cruising as quickly as possible to establish a blockade and to provide support fire. Over 1,000 aircraft were deployed aboard the 5 fleets' 8 aircraft carriers. Though it would take 2 days for all of the forces to arrive, the net was closing.

Aboard the command ship NLN Pegasus, Third Admiral Natalia Boronova had just sat down in her quarters for what felt like the first itme in days when there was a nock on her cabin door. "Yes?", was about all she could muster for the moment.

The door opened and the rather young looking Captain of the Pegasus, Robert Brewster, stuck his head around the door, "I think it's time, General McMasters is on the line."

Natalia didn't even get to finish her, "I'm on my way comment", before she was out the door on her way to the Bridge. "I'm here sir", was the first thing she said but secretly wishing it could have been something else, she new how he felt about her, but hadn't summoned the courage to tell him she felt the same way. "Yes sir, we've been on the move steaming towards Axario since the official 'mobilization' was called........ We're only a few hours away...... Position? ........We're inbound from the South West sir, heading for the Gatera Straight, we should be in the Straight in the next six hours....... East from there, sir, yes sir.........amphibious assault, yes sir we can manage that, how close is "Atlantis" fleet in case we need some back up, if we can use them that is sir?....... that close?....... I don't think they will be a necessity, there's plenty of SEATO support for this one, that's it, thank you sir, oh, and Andrew, thanks for this opportunity." As she put down the phone Natalia new it was time to rock and roll.

"Captain Brewster, full alert, we're going to war. I want the Frogs set up first it'll be an amphibious job with cavalry support. We're heading for the Gatera Straight as planned then East for the Tiwari River, I want to hit the beach just South of the river mouth and I don't want any errors in this, put a call through to Northwood, I want his Iowa, Ticonderoga cruisers and California cruisers up front to soften the terrain before we go in. Serene and the Destroyers stay back with us and the Gepard, Slava's and Wasps go in for the landings." All of a sudden there was an interuption from nearly all the enisgns on the radar team.

"Incoming, incoming we got bogies every where", was the joint song of the radar crew with the additional, "holy shit there's 100's of 'em. Wait, they're coming in too low, wait they're moving, sir, are we expecting any support???" Just as the ensign finished his question there was a massive roar as approx. 48 bombers flew low overhead and then lifted back up in altitude. "Where the f*%@ did they come from!", the ensign exclaimed before turning bright red when he realised not only did he just swear in front of his superior officers, but also in front of a very beautiful woman. Natalia looked over the ensigns shoulder at the screen and then out the window at the lifting bomber squadron, "show off fly boys" she thought to herself, "I'm glad they've kept radio silence, and found a creative way of letting us know they're here before we blew them out of the sky."

"We were expecting aerial support from the Terran's and there should be a fleet of about 160 ships visiting aswell, keep an eye out for them and keep me informed, but in a less colourful language please ensign", she didn't chastise the young man more because she could tell he knew what he did was wrong as well as embarrising.

"I wasn't expecting the bombers so soon, though, but it will probably save us some work when we get there, I do appreciate their help. There may also be some other SEATO help here but I'm not sure who it will be or from where they will arrive, for now let all the ships know we have help here from the Terrans and be aware of their presence, they may be in the staright already or coming up on the Eastern side of Gatera Island. There will be no freindly fire 'incidents' on our side from my operation. For now we'll stick to our objective and help the Terran's and Axario as best we can."

Alexander Pesta stared down at the report in his hands. This was not expected in the least. He figured this would be quick in and take over. King Noah III and Claron would be gone and in their place he would but his younger son, Nikolai. Even though Axario's involvement had stirred things up, he figured he could take them. But there was a whole legion of nations backing Axario that seemed to come out of nowhere.
Holdings in Danversia were being massacred, millions were dead, and it looked like this would not come out favorably. There were two options left. He pulled the panel out from below his desk, it had a number of buttons, half labeled N for nuclear the other half labeled C for Cobra Virus. He could cause utter pandemonium in every country that chose to help Axario. He could utterly wipe out economies and populations. But it would cause definite retaliation...
He pressed the intercom for his aide.
"Andrew, make a press release, I'm calling for a summit."

I would like to propose a cease fire. I'm willing to take part in a peace summit held in Vaticania, Diosono. I would like to end hostilities until we can discuss things in this summit. Thank you and I hope to see you at this summit.

Fine Alexander, we'll talk. My forces have been told to only fire if fired upon. Noah III, Claron and I will all attend. As long as the Pope is ok with it, Diosono will be fine.

Aboard the lead EB-1C "Vampire II", an aircraft nicknamed the Arc Tempust, the cockpit was a flurry of activity. A normal B-1 bomber required 4 crew members aboard at all times. The EB-1C only required 2. Sitting in the copilot seat, along with Captain Mori, was Major General Iga, commander of the 2nd Division of the TSAC and the head officer on this mission. Up until 1 minute ago, Iga's bomber and the 40-odd others accompanying it had been flying less than 100 feet from the surface of the ocean in TERFLW mode, at speeds exceeding 700 miles per hour. They'd been operating in strict radio silence. Therefore, when the primary computer reported that they'd recieved a message from HIGHCOM one minute ago, General Iga and Wing Captain Mori had been startled.

"General Iga, this is General Kotai." He stiffened in his seat; Kotai was the head of the Air Force. "Your attack is scrubbed. Relay this order to your divisions, level off to 35,000 feet, and get back home. Aerial Tanker Squadrons 44 and 16 are waiting for your attack group at the midpoint."

General Iga hit the transmit button, something that would bounce a transmission off of a satellite and directly to HIGHCOM's headquarters, the CASTLE facility. "Sir, why have you cancelled our mission? We had them."

"Anapest has called a summit. Under the circumstances, the allies are anxious to avoid unnecessary bloodshed...and let's face it, General Iga, under you command, this attack would have been nothing less than a slaughter of Anapest's forces."

Iga allowed himself a smile at that one. "Understood, sir. We're scrubbing primary stealth measures aboard the EB-1Cs and EB-52s; the EB-2B's are going to slink back home nice and quiet. Our "friends" in Anapest are going to get one hell of a surprise. General Iga out."

He cut the transmission, and then transmitted an abort code to his squadrons currently inbound on Danversia and Anapest. Looking at the "god's eye" view projected on the gigantic plasma screen in front of him, General Iga grimaced. They were less than an hour from their targets. He wondered if those Anapestian soldiers knew how close they had come to dying.

At a military radar station in New Anapest, a radar officer jumped out of his seat and screamed "shit!" as nearly 350 red blips appeared on his radar screen, inbound on Danversia from all directions. He was about to call in a report when he noticed that they were all turning around.

OOC: I wonder if I should attend this peace summit. Hmmm. I suppose I should, seeing as how I gave away such a large amount of supplies and money.

IC: Dear Alexander Pesta,
A Nalecian delegate will attend this summit. She/He will not be carrying any weapons and will not have an escort of any kind. He/She will arrive on a Nalecian Zeppelin several hours before the summit begins. We hope that this war can be put behind us and further conflict be avoided.

The fleet were less than 3 hours away from the coast when the call came through from General McMasters to Third Admiral Natalia Boronova on board the command vessel NLN Pegasus.

"Natalia, we've gotten word that there will be a summit and talks will be commencing shortly."

"Yes, sir, what do we do next??? We're only three hours away from the commencement of our operation", Natalia was puzzled since they were so close. Had those bombers gotten through or were they enough to worry the Anapest government. She didn't know, but it wasn't her place to question the post poning of a major operation.

"You're to hold your positions in the Gatera Straight in full alert mode and await further instructions", McMasters was very direct and to the point, he knew they may be needed again at less than a moments notice.

"Yes sir, we'll hold and await the next move."

Meanwhile in Central Command Sir Nigel was updating Marcus about the situation and notifying him that he was off to a sumit that could save thousands of New Logan lives, as well as Anapestian, Terran and Axario lives.

Within the following two hours Marcus Impartial, the Foreign Minister for New Logan was in the air and on his way to the summit with half of the Charlie ASOS unit assigned to SEATO security.
