Elections in Valviruis

Valviruis
26-10-2004, 22:03
Up until now, The Federation of Valviruis hasn't had free elections. But recently, we have had an idea to hold elections for an assistant to the ruler. The federatory leader Michael Edward Claisse has decided to hold these elections because he wants to see who his people elect.

The candidates are-

Jim Hollsteiner, a 43 year-old male from the city of Limleton who supports:
Abortion, the death penalty, gay rights, and focuses on the environment. He is against: slavery, war, and taxing imports. He plans to impose a bill to take religion out of schools, increase pay for government employees, and a final one to protect prehistory at the cost of big buisness.

Alvin Mentgomery, a 54 year old male from the small town of Behinghbram who supports: war as a second priority, religion as a first, and education as a third. He also supports slavery and taxing ALL imports. He is against: gay rights, partial-birth abortion and and removing religion from schools. His plans include anti-death penalty laws.

Please state who you are voting for.

You might want to take this post to a different forum, perhaps gameplay or the international incidents forums? I dunno.

I do have a question, given the two choices, what are your nation's laws about other "companies" buying political ads favouring one canidate?

Furthermore, when you say "free" elections, would your nation be interested in election monitors? My government would be more than happy to send in election monitors, who would be happy to report back to the UN and / or your government on what they observed. Naturally if Mikitivity Monitors go in, we'd have to reach an agreement the form of the reports, but I'm optimistic that our governments could work together.

[P.S. mods, you may want to move this to an appropriate forum.]
