War is Peace
The people of the Republic stood in shock, as the Armies of Solar Federation 2112 declared martial law in the capital city. Two covert op units armed with MP5s and carrying background support by helicopter, stormed the Capitol building at 0300 GMT.
Democracy was at an end. But the strangest part of these events is the fact that the people had elected a leader who claimed to put their dearest interests at heart. Just prior to the incident, Chancellor Gerhardt Bosch announced to the people, on state television, that final steps were under way to eradicate the quasi-Communist uprising from the extreme liberal wing of the senate.
At 0314, the senators, having been called into an emergency session under false pretense, the Republican security detail, and half of the Senate staffers, were exterminated in a coup d'etats.
After an intense firefight, the bloody siege ended in just 2 hours and 47 minutes.
The Republic of Solar Federation 2112 was born.
So I waited and, O my brothers, I got a lot better munching away at eggiwegs, and lomticks of toast and lovely steakiwegs and then, one day, they said I was going to have a very special visitor.
