Rotovian Federal Elections

The repetitive melody of the Rotovian National News fades out as the image of a newspanel comes on screen, transitioned from a series of newsclips.

Anchorwoman: "Good evening and welcome to a series of special broadcast by Rotovian National News. I'm Jessica Themes of the Athens Daily..."

Reporter: "I'm Arnold Huthering from The People's Voice..."

Reporter: "I'm Julia Carthage from the world renowned politcal talkshow On The Issues..."

Reporter: "I'm Thomas Types, politcal correspondent for RNN..."

Reporter: "I'm Isaac Charters, author of In Freedom's Mind..."

Anchorwoman: "And this is Rotovia Votes..."

A transperent globe spin in and out of shot, with a whirlwind of ballot papers in trail.

Ancrhorwoman: "Well let's take a look at the candiates shall we?"

Carthage: "Well firstly we have our current President Dionysus Bacchus...

http://www.movieguide.co.nz/images/pics/Avery%20Brooks.jpg

This will be President Bacchus' fifth term in office, making him Rotovia's longest running President. And a first for the Liberal Party.

His key support areas are the the lower to upper middle class and is still neck-in-neck on the opinion polls nationally. Though his home state of Attapolis is pulling in all stops with a record 85% approval rating"

Huthering: "Next we have Dr Andrew Heywood, who after returning from years in exile has taken up the reigns of the Communist Party...

http://www.portraitartist.com/paules/businessman.jpg

Senator Heywood has a large backing from the State of Theopolis where more idealistic lower economic groups appear to want a sway towards a less ecnonomic minded government. Though I wouldn't rule him out yet, many are tipping the Communists to return to opposition with a weakened minority"

Charters: "A suprising turn around this year, when the long time leader of the Conservative Party, Lord Maxwell Powers, was outed from party leadership at the AGM and replaced with the less tradtional, more bussiness minded Senator Sophia Emelia...

http://www1.chapman.edu/admission/photos/alumni/businesswoman.jpg

It appears that the change has actually bolstered the party's support from the brink of extniction to a fighting chance of contention."

Types: "Finally is the last of the four major parties, Vice President Julia Aptiva of the Republican Party...

http://www.peo.gov.au/images/homework/stott.jpg

The party is expected to pick up votes from both the Conservatives and Communists in Deopolis where the party's firm stance on a balance between stronger ecnomic growth and a greater focus of domestic issues seems to have gone down well"

Anchorwoman: "Tune in tommorow, when the parties are expected to outline their election platforms"

Anchorwoman: "Well this certainly is a startling turn of events, wouldn't you say Isaac?"

Charters: "It certainly is, I'd say that party membership gamble has really paid off. At the very least the Conservatives have an almost garunteed opposition and a fighting chance at an election win"

Carthage: "With only 10% of the total votes in, it's a little early to be calling the election. However I won't deny this is the greatest support the Conservatives have picked in over a decade..."

Types: "What I want to know is why, and from which party are these vites being taken from...?"

Huthering: "I think what we're seeing is Conservatives comming out of the woodwork"

Carthage: "It's almost like it's acceptable to be Conservative again..."

Anchorwoman: "Well I think what we're really seeing is Conservative's picking up on a previously neglected voter group, bussiness owners. I think they realised that the old money and morally superior voter group is nearing extinction and that their future lies with companies..."

Charters: "Either way, it is an undeniable acheivement and perhaps a sign that the public support for everybody's favourite Liberal is dwindling"

Anchorwoman: "Careful Isaac..."

Huthering: "Well I don't know about that, but I do know that the Liberal party just picked up two points and are rising against the Conservatives... so I think we'll soon see if that was just the more Convervative seats in Spartapolis being called early that has swung the vote"

The picturesque Rotovian countryside fades into a white picket fence neighbourhood and children playing.

Voiceover: "Freedom...."

The image fades into a series of shots of a family at the beach.

Voiceover: "Stability...."

A man casually walks into a large corporate building, he sits at his desk at looks out at Rotovia Gardens. The modern day Eden hidden amoungst the CBD.

Voiceover: "Comfort..."

The final shot is a Rotovian flag transperent over a large group of people.

Voiceover: "If you want to continue our way of life, a relaxed, carefree, easy and comfortable life of safety... vote Liberal.

If not....

A series of shot depict war, famine, inner-city violence and finally the family seen earlier stands outside their house as a eviction notice is placed on their house.

Vote for someone else..."

Ooc- Might I suggest that the Republicans and Conservatives unite against a united Communist-Liberal party, add up the votes each member of the two, two member unions get, and then that is the winner when it closes.

Anchorwoman: "We that's it, the last votes have come in and the books have been closed... we cross over live to outside the Central Government Building where in a moment Cheif Justice of Supreme Court and Acting Cheif Justice of the High Court Katherine Oxford will announce the new government of Rotovia...."

Left shuffling sheets of paper the shot of the newsdesk fades out to a wide shot of the massive and daunting Central Government Building. A flash of light from the enormous windows spreads a spectrum of light across the camera before a shot of a stern, yet attractive woman comes into focus.

Oxford: "Citizens of Rotovia, by your votes and your voice I am proud and honoured to announce your servents in The Senate. The new Senate shall be comprised as follows:
Rotovian Liberal Party 28.95%
Rotovian Republican Party 23.68%
Communist Party of Rotovia 13.16%
Rotovian Conservative Party 34.21%

However, many seat for the Conservative Party remain in constestion until the Electoral Commission concludes it's inquiry.

That said, with a combined majority of 51.60% The Liberal-Republican Coalition returns to office under the leadership of reigning President Dionysus Bacchus"
