The Free Republic, Over Four Billion Strong.
The Free Republic of Ilek-Vaad recently surpassed the four billion mark for population. With the population and economy experiencing a near simultaneous boom things couldn't look brighter for the Free Republic, with the exception of big business.
In a paradox of this cycle of growth, unemployment is nearly unheard of and big business is experiencing staffing problems.
"With so many jobs in the Free Republic at the moment , people are being extremely picky, especially since citizens can re-enroll with the Velite Guard at any time, many prospective employees won't take a job unless employers give them at least what they would get with the Velite Guard." Said Minister the Minister of Economics at a press conference earlier
The Free Republic officially has an unemployment rate of 4%, but at any given time 3-3.5% of these people take posts in the Velite Guard, keeping real unemployment at 1% or below. Large industrial companies like Costa-Tula Shipyards, Jaguar-Daimler and others are in a crunch for entry level assembly plant workers.
This has led Vaadian corporations to look to open foreign plants. Costa-Tula Shipyards is currently building facilities in the Glorious Kingdom of Vrak and Avery Frost Aeronautics has been looking for a site for off shore assembly plants for several months now. The Free Republic's employment crunch could benefit other nations as the economy continually expands.
