Today The ECF is beginnnig the Warp 10 Project. The Warp 10 project will allowed ECF ships to reach infinate violecty.

OOC: How will deal with the fact that your ship will occupy both where it is and it's destination at once? That is physically impossible for anything not on the quantum scale.

OOC: I RP with a space nation I have sometime and have no problem with it.

Infinite velocity in normal space is c.

But since you're refering to some sort of warp drive, let me just say that infinite velocity would be impractical. You would either hit something (like a planet) resulting in your destruction, or you would reach the end of the universe. Not too much to see there. Unless of course you could stop on a dime. But that would rip apart your ship as it slowed down.

Basically, something like this isn't feasable for anything other than an uberwank missile system. I suspect that there is some basic law of physics that says this is impossible, but I'm not too well versed in physics, so I couldn't say anything about that.

The speed of light isn't infinite. It has a definite finite value of 3x10^8 m/s. It's the max speed limit in the universe, bar sci-fi FTL tech.

Go ahead. The resulting genetic mutations will cause the eventual extinction of your empire in less than a year. Just be sure to drop off a few ships, without Warp 10 drives, by my planet before you do so. That way, something of your empire survives.

(1) It depends on what scale you're using. The first ST series had a warp scale that could go to Warp 14. The latter series used some sort of exponential scale.
(2) General comment: what the frig is "full impulse"? Standard acceleration or something?
(3) Warp 10 is infinite velocity. If your starship is occupying every point in the universe, then you've suddenly created a paradox -- because some of those points are in the middle of stars, black holes, planets, and other fun stuff -- your ship might or might not be dead. You either need something like the Spice from F. Herbert's Dune to navigate the nearly-infinite possible outcomes of Warp 10, or the Possibility Engine that Weyr's developing.

Full impulse is 1/4 Light.

OOC: There are alot of conflicting views on how this could or could not work, It could work if you had a nav computer capable of plotting which Point you would end up at. And not everyship will have Warp 10 drive. Snice you could in theroy drop out at any point in the universe you could have a jump system, sort of like a wormhole.

[OOC]: I believe the problem isn't about where you would end up coming out of warp, it's where you would be beforehand that's the problem. If Warp 10 puts you everywhere in the universe at once, then before you could exit Warp 10, you'd have instantly Imploded, Exploded, Vaporised, Froze, Burnt to a Crisp, Compressed to the size of an individual atom, etc., due to the fact that you would happen to hit every hazard in the entire universe, at the same time. Hell, that didn't even include what would happen if you pop up inside a planet. Ye'd probably get fused with the rock or something.

So basically, ye'll hit every hazard in the galaxy at once before you can even get more than a few picoseconds past the start of the Warp 10 jump.
