Older News: The past few months have been hectic for the Peoples Republic of Sovick. After the bloody squashing of Anarchist groups throughout the nation, the short rebellion of an ex-general and his army, and a small downward tremor in the economy, things seemed to be going back to normal throughout the great Sovick state. But the gilded peacefulness broke a few weeks ago with the breaking away of a portion of the nation.
A section of the nation, known as Kaznakia, has been determined for decades to gain independence from Sovick rule. The section is home to a populous of more than 8 million Sovick Kaznakians. The regional governor of Kaznakia, Governor Regonovich, from the outset, was a liberal in the Assemblage, and extremely patriotic to the cause of the Kaznakians. After he won election for regional governor of Kanakia, Regonovich began building up the regions industry and filling the populous with sectarian patriotism. His speeches to the public, subtly implied rebellion against Sovick rule and his steady sectarian military buildup implied he had revolutionary intentions. Chief Chairman Goric planned to deal with the situation rising in Kaznakia, but was deterred by the Anarchist liquidation and the rebellion of one of his ex-generals. For his neglect the situation has now come to a head; and a brutal head at that.
News: The Kaznakian assemblage gathered at the regions largest city, Truyo, a few weeks back and passed legislation claiming the region to be independent of the Peoples Republic of Sovick. Chief Chairman Goric stated that he refused to acknowledge the new Kaznakian state and demanded that the Kaznakian Assembalge come into compliance with his demands to reunify with the glorious Sovick nation. The Kaznakian Assemblage zealously with abundant support sent a letter back to the main capitol , stating that the Kaznakian government has no intentions of reunifying and will fight for their independence if need be. Such news has infuriated Chief Chairman Goric and caused him to call up more than a third of his 12 million man army to crush the insurrection with brutal force.
An estimated 1 million Kaznakians have quickly rallied to the cause of the new republic. Most are not trained, but a willing to fight for their independence. President Regonovich is determined to bring the Kaznakian state out from under the "tyranny" of the Sovick nation.
