The Battle of New England-New York Metro (open RP)

Here's the RP topic. The Red Sox and the Yankees are competing in the American League Championship Series once again. And all of New England and the Tri State Area (NY/CT/NJ) are on a feverish pitch. Some people in the area are ready to go to war because of the rivalry between the two teams, and we really mean a rise in violence is about to happen.

Don't be a dumbass and let the RP's begin....

The three infantry divisions and one tank division marched south through Franconia Notch. The 'Notch was always unpredictable. Right now it was lightly snowing with lots of wind. Outside the notch it was partly cloudly. But it was the only way through the White Mountains.

A marching soldier looked up into the low clouds, to see the New Old Man atop Cannon mountain, built from granite recovered after the collapse, illuminated by spotlights. They would follow I93 to Concord, where they could launch attacks on the Yankee-ites...

Ramissilian General McPowhill issued an order to the east of Willimantic, and District 11, over a very large loadspeaker set up in the Chaplin Town Hall
" A Notice to all in District 11 and east of Willimantic. You are now under Ramissilian rule. Any attempts to rebel will be put down harshly. Thank you for your time."
After the notice, 54 construction workers were busy building various bases. Bear Hill and Tower Hill were to have a 15,000 square foot militiary base put on them, complete with AA and SAM sites. They also included barracks for 10,000, and Tank bunkers. Meanwhile, Route 6 was being transformed into an airfield, also with SAM sites. Down the road a mile or two, Parish Hill High School had turned into Militiary HQ. SAM sites, AA guns, Artilliary, and under ground bunkers were being set up. Trenches lined the school, 3 rings 100 yards apart.

Dredging ships from the Thames began their work. The Quineboug would be dredged and widened, for naval purposes The deepening would continue up to Wauregah, were a naval base and refitting station would be located. A large base began to be built on Black Hill. Garrisons and trenches were planned, along with artillery and AA sites. On Witney Hill, near Moosup, Barracks were placed, along with twin barracs on Web Hill. Construction on all sites was expected to be finished in 3 NS months.

OOC: Here's Grafton County (http://www.state.nh.us/osp/sdc/graftonco.jpg), the invasion forces are descending from Littleton (the BEST town EVER... until they built a Wal-Mart and a Shaws  )

We will be descending to Concord, following I93. From Concord we can hit Yankee positions.

One more thing, would you guys mind if I made another nation for this? Probably "Littleton" or 'Grafton" or "Coos." In my little universe, Bahbland doesn't control any mainland, only islands.

The Providence Militia numbered 15,831 men. Mayor Buddy Cianci, hoping to gain more funds to wage war, dispatched a brigade of 200 Militia men to move into the near-by town of Barrington. There was no resitance, as they did not have a militia. Barrington iwas a home of many aristocrats of Rhode Island. Immedialty a flat tax of 45% was set up and 1000 men were drafted into the militia. They are to be trained in a recently set up barracks outside Providence.

Meanwhile 400 Militia men were sent out to take the city of Warwick.

There was a small battle, in which the Warwick militia lost 14 men, the Providence force last 20 men. The Mayor of Warwick then agreed to join Providence.

By the end of the difficult day, the Unified Rhode Island Militas consisted of 23,695 men, 1000 from Barrington and 6864 men from Warwick. Cianci said that he soon wanted to move into West Warwick.

The population of the Providence lead Rhode Island was 278,528.

In domestic issues, Cianci has ordered that four of the old rubber factories in Providence to be converted for use as arms manufacturing plants. Not only that, but the power plant in Providence was re opened, and repairs on it has began.

(OOC: Here's my new nation! The Armed Republic of Bobshire!)

The Bobshire gaurd started construction of their base at Fort Plymouth. The football and soccer fields of the University became helipads for salvaged Hueys. A little over 150 5-ton trucks hauling 155mm Howitzers drove down the highway, loaded with troops and supplies. Cessnas flew recon, using the highway as an airfield.

The Bobshire Militia was 9791 strong.

IC: With the new census data, General McPowhill decided to reinstate the draft. A small draft, percentage wise, only 20%. The draft would bring in 5,309 soldiers. With this, the speed of the building increased. The building projects would be finished in 1.5 NS months now.
With the morale boost the Regulars got, the General thought it was time for some take over. The Regs (1200 men strong) decided that Windham would be perfect. The battalion marched down the abandoned rail road tracks, their feet crunching in the dirt. They crossed the Willimantic Country club, and crossed the Natchaug River. Suprisingly, little resistence was put up when the regs entered the city. A couple drug dealers shot at them, but other than that that it was a breeze. After storming the city, the current King of Windham since the break off from the states, Pete Nichols from I-98 handed over them rule of the city, as long as he got complete control over the radio. After granting him this power, General McPowhill stood on top of one of the famous frogs, and screamed in happiness. Willimantic was his.

A Brigade of new recruits and a couple regular sargents were preparing to take Lebanon, a key battle ground town. With its large hills, location on the Shetucket, and highways, it was going to be a mess if it wasn't taken. The 250 men strode through downtown Willimantic, and crossed the Frog Bridge. From their they marched down to South Windham, a recently captured town. They submitted meekly, although one man was found dead on top of the Library roof. It was suspected he was a Yankee fan. From South Windham the brigade hit Route 32. Strolling down the highway, they met no resistence. When the men finnaly got to down town lebanon, which was just a bunch of houses on a town green, they werent sure what to expect. But what they got was snipers. 3 gunshots rang out from St. Francis's church. Two more came from the town office. 5 shots, five men dead. Two squads ran into the buildings. Machine gun fire was heard from outside. Finnaly, the men steped out. 10 men were left behind to keep the peace, and then the men left for Franklyn. That town was easy. Soldeirs their just strode through North Franklyin and declared martial law. 13 men were left to keep the peace. When the commanding officer got to route 207, he called in for air support. 207 went right through Avery Hill and Ayers Mountain. They needed to make sure their was no body on the hill. A helicopter flew in, and checked it out. The hills were fine. So the commanding officer called General McPowhill, and said how great an idea it would be for a bas on top. The genaral thought, and decided to do it. More than 6 building projects were now going on. The base at Ayers Mountain would have AA support, a heli pad, sniper posts, an underground bunker, and a tunnel leading to more sniper posts on Avery hill. All the other building was now finished, however the naval base on the Quinebaug was gonna take some more time. From Averys Hill the brigade went on to Norwhich, the gem of the upper Thames. The soldiers followed the Shetucket down to the city. Eventually, they got in. Some sniper shots were heard from greenville, but it was widly ignored. All they did was stroll in to the City hall, and demanded the city. The mayor cautiassly obeyed, and announced to the city the joys of being ramissilian. Another naval base was starting to built, which would block Yantic River, but it was to shallow there anyways. Norwich is Ramissle's.
Adding to the total:
Norwich city: 36,117
New total: 101,343
New Militiary total: 33,313

General McPowhill was worried about Sprauge and Lisbon. Citizens were telling tales of a large militia, eagar to take on the area, and even take over Scotland and Canterbury. He couldn't let that happen. He ordered a squad of tanks from Bear Hill to take on the rebels. You could hear the rumbleing of the tanks as they passed by, loud as hell. They rolled strait through Scotland, and found them selves on top of a large hill in Mohegan State Forest. They were looking strait down at the rebel base camp. Rather than roll strait into the middle of the camp, the tanks took a more conservative route. Staying where they were, the tanks released round after round into the camp. Huge craters stood in the ground were rebel tents used to be. Sprauge and Lisbon surrendered. The Versailles Gravel pit was to be turned into the Lisbon/Sprauge Operations post, complete with AA sites, weapons depots, and bunkers. The Lisbon/Sprauge residents volunteered to work on the site, with the idea that they would gain favor to Ramissle.

Few comments for Ramissle:
- It's spelled "Quinebaug"
- Willimantic is a part of Windham. Only 7000 people live in Windham outside Willimantic.
- Killingly has 16,000 people. Not 6 thousand. You forgot the one.

Cianci announced today his New Economic Plans, which involved bringing nearly all retired factories back into service. In the Bristol-Warren area, now Barrington County, has a new govenor. Mr. Kam Mancini has become the first Socialist govenor in the United States.

Mancini has demanded that Portsmouth and Middletown join the Republic. He has threatened military action against them if they do not join, however Mancini and Cianci both have said that they will be warmly welcomed into the republic.

Cianci has reached out to other nations for aid. They are to purchase goods from Russia, Germany, and the UK, mainly Anti-Aircraft weapons.

Cranston has also joined the Republic.

Shots were ringing out in Bozrah. A small patrol in Franklin went the wrong way, and ended up going south from Misery Hill, instead of turning around at the gravel pits. The small group actually stumbled across Yantic River before figuring out what happend. But the shots were not coming from scared soldiers, but from a home in Fitchville. Aparently the people there hated Ramisslians, and were firing at the soldiers. Before the squad could even respond, ten men were dead. The remaining thirteen spread out. Two took burst into a house that was firing. Three shots came, and one minute later the men walked out. The radio man called for support, but it wouldn't come for a while. The squad crept behind the homes now, avoiding the view of the homes. Finally, they reached the cemetary. One soldier saw a man run into a crypt. The squad spread out. They waited, crouching behind gravestones. Finally, some militia came out of the crypt. A few seconds passed, gunshots, silence. The men lay dead. The patrol now entered the crypt. No men were found. Instead, a massive weapons cash, chockfull of top-of-the-line small arms. This was enough for an entire army! Fearing the worst, the radio man called again. A Chinnook was sent, with General McPowhill on board. The General made a long speach about the danger of what they did, then smiled. "Nice job" he said. The men loaded the chopper. It had to make six trips to Parish Hill.

In Long Island Sound, the naval fleet of The Gulf States perches. About 10 miles south of Bridgeport, Connecticut, cargo planes fly overhead and more aircraft take off from carriers.

Some cargo planes will land at Sikorsky Airport in Stratford. Others will go inland towards Worcester in Massachusetts - around Ramissile territory. The Gulf States forces on land are blitzing southward through Vermont, taking a turn at Springfield, Mass going eastward.

Some more naval vessels park offshore at Milford and Stratford. Armored vehicles and personnel get unloaded by the thousands. They will eventually stick around in the Bridgeport-Milford areas - others will move northward on Routes 25 and 34 towards Newtown.

-----------

C: Sir, how do you think this will go?

O: The areas we are going into need some stablization. The New York and Jersey government won't really care anyway. They're losing chunks left and right already in New England. There's rebellions all over the place, and other international armies moving in for a slice of American territory.

C: You're putting up road blocks on the two most direct routes in from New York towards Boston and Providence.

O: Few would be assed to fight for some little hick towns in eastern Connecticut. Willimantic isn't a big loss, all they do is shoot heroin. Norwich, eh. It's bad enough we had to include a few towns up in Northeastern Connecticut for our own expedition.

C: I wasn't refering about that. Worcester is largely ignored. Providence and Boston are bigger deals, and they'll be weak by the time we may move in.

O: It may be a mistake wanting Bridgeport and Danbury. As long as we avoid New York state directly. Norwalk and Stamford too, we should be fine though. This entire region is already weak from previous government overthrow and rebellion recently.

C: Most of I-91 in Vermont is ours anyway. Shall we keep it open to the civilans?

O: Why not? We don't want to look like the bad guys. And besides, we support their cause. We're with the Red Sox side in this war. Bridgeport and Danbury will be the biggest issue, that's our enemy. That's where our allies are being harmed the most. That's where the riches and jewels of our conquest are.

C: Listen, the Red Sox will pull off the victory on the diamond. And we'll get exactly what we want. The world is ours, one square mile at a time.

--------------
Later on in the day...

O: I've had this broadcast on selected markets for a reason. We just want to be aware that we are keeping the peace in selected areas. We got to protect our interests and our allies in certain regions. And if any others want to aide in on the crisis, help our forces and keep the peace - feel free to join our ranks. Just what exactly is our side? You'll eventually find out. One side will be happy, the other will hate us. We expect resistance of course. There will be some angry fans that will try to attack us. But I don't think it'll be that much of a problem. We got world class ammo and artillery. They have pocket knives. Big deal.

President Alex Ortiz unbuttons his black suit coat, revealing a Boston Red Sox jersey.

O: Here's to the Red Sox winning the American League Pennant

A girl sits on the sidewalk outside a convience store and gas station in Newtown, Connecticut. The first few armored jeeps have rolled into the eastern side of the downtown area at Route 6 and I-84. The jeeps all stop at this gas station to refuel. The girl, wearing a Yankees cap and jersey, looks up at these jeeps. One of the officers in military uniform walks up to her.

Officer: Good afternoon miss. What's your name?

Girl: Jessica.

Officer: Nice meeting you. Why are you sitting out here?

Girl: I don't know.

Officer: Are you ok?

Girl: My head hurts a little bit.

Officer: You have no drugs or weapons on you?

Girl: No sir.

Officer: It looks like you're high.

Girl: No sir. I'm not.

The officer reaches down and starts frisking her. He stops around a pocket on her jeans. Then he points at the pocket.

Girl: That's just nothing.

Officer: Let me see it.

Girl: Fine.

The girl pulls out a $20 bill and a gram of heroin.

Girl: Please don't hurt me. Please don't lock me up. I've done nothing.

Officer: Please get off the sidewalk.

Girl: She reaches into her pocket again, grabs a pocket knife, and tries to slit her own wrists. The officer tries to pull on her arm. Two more soldiers try to restrain her and arrest her.

Officer: Send her to the local authorities. Find the local police station and drop her off there.

Girl: Please don't lock me up!

Officer: No time to plead with us. You're the first prisoner of our war. Well, at least that we know of.

Girl: What?

General Powhill looked out his window on Tower Hill. The captured home their provided an excellent view of the Mount Hope, and if you stood in the 3rd story, you could even see Manesfield Hollow. Normally, the lake would be quiet. But since the war, not so calm. Hundreds of Tolland County Militia marched on Basset Bridge, doing their morning patrol. Edward Sirgotti, self claimed King of Tolland, had beefed up the militia to 5,000 since Ramissle arrived. Powhill knew he was planning an assault, and knew it needed to be stamped out quickly. But more importaintly, he knew that right nowy, Sirgotti controlled all of the water supply to the Willimantic area, not counting wells of course. Powhill started to plan an assault of Mansfield Hollow, after a well buttered biscuit of course. He met with his advisors, Admiral Preble, General Lispinca, and General Tony Vercemil. Although all agreed on what to take from Sirgotti, none could decide on how. Admiral Preble suggested an intense bombardment, coupled with a small clean up force. Lispinca wanted to take a less conservitive route, and try to surround the Tolland forces with a pincer formation. But Vercemil by far had the best idea. One small brigade of tanks, 7-8 would rumble down Tower Hill and go through Atwodville, and eventually hit Mansfield Hollow State Park. 1,500 Draftees would thenhead town the hill and cross Bassett Bridge. Then, six Apache's would fly over the lake, and head off the Tolland Militia. They would then have no where to go except the Boat Ramp, where they would end up being surrounded. Powhill loved it. The operation would begin soon.

Massive force was used today. The Rhode Island militia swept through Cranston, Tiverton, Little Compton, North Kingstown, and Johnston. Portsmouth and Middletown have joined the Republic with no conflict.

The Rhode Island New Economic Plan is now being enforced throughout the Republic. Shipments from elsewhere arrived today. The Militia has aquired 5 T-72 tanks, and 2 SA-21 Mysk.

The operation began without a hitch. That is, began. Even though the tanks left on time, and the militia began right, it didn't stay that way. Three out of the eight tanks used lost their footing and slid down Tower hill. They ended up in the Mount Hope River. Meanwhile, 25% of the militia's rifles jammed. 375 troops had to head back, leaving them with 1125 men. The helicopters were fine, however. But they weren't a critical part of the mission 'till almost the end. As the militia headed down the hill, they weren't sure what to expect. To keep the mission secreat from the Tollandites, no previous fly overs were prepared to find troop placements. The men had to fend for themselves. From fear, four men deserted on the way down. They tripped, slipped, and fell ito the Natchaug River. All four died. As the militia headed down, the remaining tanks reached 89. They rolled down the highway, and ended up in SouthEastern School's play ground. They rolled out, and advanced through to the picnic area. The militia had gotten to Bassett Bridge. Half the men crossed in single file. The other half snuck throught the water. Suddenly, gunshots were heard. The men on the bridge scrambled off, and got into their positions. The men in the water snuck under the bridge. As the men who crossed fought, they hid. Withen a half hour, 21 militia lay dead, and 14 Tolland militia had fallen. The men under the bridged suddenly came out, and opened fire. Tolland retreated. Just then, the tanks rumbled into site. They did not open fire, in fear of hitting their own men. But Tolland ran. Into the lake they went. However, the Apache's came soon after, and opened fire. 386 Tolland militia died. 254 were wounded. Over 600 had surrendered. It was not suprising they had lost, but it was suprising how many were sent. It was the entire militia of Mansfield and the runaway militia of Lebanon. All defeated.
However, Mansfield had still not been defeated. Sweep up groups were made, and 63 more men were captured. Fran's Fish and Ribs, which had supported Ramissle from the begining, gave the commanding officers free meals. The militia that fought was given a weeks leave. Now, Mansfield was Ramissilian.

C: We now have control of Vermont. Sort of.

O: Good. Although we're sparsely doing anything in the area.

C: True. We just have some men protecting the major routes south from Quebec. I-91 and Route 7, plus I-89.

O: Have we taken the far western stretches of Massachusetts?

C: We're trying to secure Routes 7 and 8. Mostly 7 and bypassing Pittsfield. We just need the routes open. Right now, most of the townspeople are confused watching all the vehicles and personnel moving southward.

O: We need to get to our objectives. What about the other region, that may become a problem too.

C: Yeah. Those forces are parked outside Greenfield. They're going to catch up and then blitz south, then east. We can't really stop in Springfield yet. Especially if Ramissile is going to start creeping in on us from the south and west.

O: Will they cut us off in Palmer?

C: We're hurrying so we can get the leading troops past them. Plus we got air support going over Vermont and then southeast to the airport. Which will give us additional support on the ground in the region.

O: We're going to need a lot if we're going to push back the Ramissile armies.

C: They're spread out across two fronts.

O: We're over on three.

C: We got far more men fighting for us though. They're a little trapped around Willimantic and fighting outward northwest and southward. Not like there's much of a population there. But they're troops increase with public support of the takeover.

O: Son of a bitch. Whatever. As long as we get Worcester and 20 miles around it for our own.

Meanwhile - the front troops for the Danbury front coming from the north approach Gaylordsville - a small village in the northern stretches of New Milford, Connecticut. A few Yankees fans, aware of the initial landings in the Stratford area, put an outpost at the junction of Routes 7 and 37. They hurl rocks and fire hunting rifles at The Gulf States blitz line. It does little to nothing, and barely garners attention from TGS soldiers. One fires a rocket in the direction of the ambushers - blowing up their position and causing dirt and bodies to fly through the air. The line continues to speed southward towards New Milford center.

They promised no sanctions or taxes against towns and cities that joined volunterily. To Cianci's surprise, all towns but West Greenwich joined. IC:
Although the transition into Ramissle was not easy, Mansfield did become a member of The Incorperation. The general country side did not like the Incorperation, and neither did most of Storrs. Only 130 residents joined the militiary. And, to top it all off, Coventry was sending patrolls everywhere, even going all the way to the edge of Eagleville Pond. General Powhill hated this. But, intense rebellions were expected. So hourly patrols were put on every street, 3-4 men once an hour on the hour. Martial Law was obviously declared, and already 3 students went to intense labor camps for inciting riots. Another building project had also started. Besides the obvious Base on a hill, a training camp was built. The camp was placed on Dunham Pond. The base was to be built on Ball Hill. On this particular outpost, 6 sniper posts and 4 beach head style bunkers were placed. The bunkers had .50 calibur rifles and a Howitzer's in every one. These were most definatly required, as the Coventry Militia was exceptionally large. The naval base on the Quinebaug was finished, and 2 Spruance Class Destroyer's and a Neustrashimy Class Frigate were being built.

OOC: Gulf States, if your wondering, I took the rural towns for strictly strategic reasons. Would you rather fight a dug in enemy in foxholes in every hill? Or fight urban warfare, where a stategic bombing can take out the enemy? And as for Norwich, it is the gateway to New London

Sweeping southward from Greenfield, The Gulf States troops zoom down I-91 deeper into Massachusetts. They approach West Springfield, Holyoke, and the Massachussetts Turnpike. They get caught though. There is a toll plaza to get onto the Turnpike. Instead of being several lanes wide and going at nearly 80 miles per hour - the entire line has to go single file and slowly through the plaza. Several Turnpike officials are upset that the long line is going through the Fast Lane line with no responders - not paying the tolls. One of the commanders shouts out at a toll plaza worker: "Don't worry about us paying now. You'll be paying us later on. Go Sox!!!"

Twenty minutes later, the line of 1000 Jeeps stops at the town of Palmer - about halfway between Springfield and Worcester. President Ortiz called for a press conference in front of a supermarket in Palmer, and many TV crews from Boston and Springfield made the trip out. Security was extra ramped in the area, and the supermarket was paid off to be closed.

General Keith Adams steps onto the podium.

A: Alright. Here's our simple mission. The government of The Gulf States fully backs the Red Sox fans. There are riots and rebellion all over the region. There's a lot just off to our south, on the other side of Stafford Springs. There's a lot around the Providence area. And soon they may enter Boston. let it be known, The Gulf States wants to provide stability. We want to bring a new government to the region. We want to aid our Red Sox loving brethen in Connecticut and New Jersey. We will take down the Evil Empire in New York. There is no doubt about it. That's why we have come to Massachusetts. We have bypassed Springfield for now, we have not forgotten about you. We are heading to Worcester. Establish a base there. We want people from all over the state and all over New England to join us in our final campaign against New York. We hope to see you come help us. Right now, we are launching the beginning of our campaign. The Gulf States is bringing in troops into southwestern Connecticut. Soon we will hold a 30 mile front between Danbury and Bridgeport. We already hold several towns in the state - Stratford and Milford on the coast, New Milford in the west central. Towns in the northwest corner have fully supported our campaign, therefore peace and autonomy remains there.

OOC: Ramissile - I'd mainly want the Northeast corner to solidify my position around Worcester. Keeping Stafford, Union, Woodstock, and Thompson are my priorities. Putnam and Killingly may be warzones soon - since that'll be bordering your nation, my territories, and whatever the hell is trying to unify Rhode Island.

The Chinnook rose over the steep cliff. "Too many hills!" General McPowhill said. The copter was flying through the fields of Killingly. It was filled to the brim with surveyors, designers, and general contracters. Today, of course, they were looking for a new base. McPowhill was overwellmingly worried about the threats from Rhode Island and Massachusetts. This was to be the one of the finest bases in Ramissilian territory, third only to Parish Hill and Bear hill. The General looked out the window. "There!" he exclaimed. "Whats that hill called?". One of the surveyors fiddled with his maps, and replied "Mashentuck Mountain. 857 feet tall, a smooth top. Perfect placement sir" McPowhill told the pilot to set it down. The hill was 2500 feet across, 1000 feet long at the top. The surveyors got into their positions. After an hour of mapping, the designers started to do there stuff. Under ground tunnels would connect them to Whelstone Brook and the road, which connected to the Hartford Pike. Beach head style bunkers would be used, much like the base in Mansfield. Howitzers and .50 cal galore would adorn it. A Helicopter pad and SAM sites were obviously included. After flying the chinook to Killing ly center and East Killingly, 173 volunteers offered their services. The base would be built in a matter of days.

OOC: *shudders* I don't even want to think about the battlegrounds here. By the way, I have absolutly no intention of going North. That is very hard RPing up their, and its harder to find the pages in my topo book for Woodstock and the likes.

IC: The naval base in Norwich, recently completed, began producing 1 Long Beach Class Guided Missile Cruiser and 1 Coronado Class Command Ship. They will be completed soon.

General Trevor Fenas looked over the map of the Boston metropolitan area and the expanses of Cape Cod. He smiled as he gazed upon the extensive battle plans arrayed in Cape Cod.

Several fortresses were being built on the eastern side of the Cape Cod channel, to provide a last line defense should Boston fall. Food was being stockpiled in Cape Cod, ironically in the town of Sandwich. One fortress was situated a mile north of the I-495 bridge across the channel, while another was three miles south of the bridge. Several deep trenches were built along the channel filled with muddy water to simulate quicksand conditions. In addition, the I-495 bridge, as well as other bridges were rigged with explosives for emergency blow-outs.

The general's eyes wandered across to the Boston defenses and he thought to himself for several minutes before uttering one sound.

"Perfect."

I'll post more tonight or tomorrow. This was just a quick post to show that I'm "in" the RP. :)

OOC: Ramissle, just so you know, it takes almost a year to build warships...

IC:

Rhode Island has declared it's intentions no to expand any larger than it already is. But, Cianci has said, Rhode Island will defend itself from incursion.

OOC:
Yes, I realize that. "Soon" takes a very general definition for me. It's like "good" for other people. The only time I wouldn't use soon would be very long, for example, only 2 years till my bike is fixed is a time I would not use it.

OOC: *shudders* I don't even want to think about the battlegrounds here. By the way, I have absolutly no intention of going North. That is very hard RPing up their, and its harder to find the pages in my topo book for Woodstock and the likes.

OOC: Hahaha. Here's a thing about Woodstock. It's 60 miles of nothing but trees, woods, and the fairgrounds. Not really worth fighting for, unless you really need the land (or a connector between Thompson and Union/Stafford.)

IC: TGS troops have swept through Vermont fairly quickly, and most of Western Massachusetts. After a press conference in Palmer, Massachusetts - which basically meant an official declaration of war on the Tri State Area of New York City - many throughout New England decided to join forces with the TGS side.

Convicts throughout Vermont were allowed to be released, and under special surveillance of TGS Special Ops Forces, were air dropped at Sikorsky Airport in Stratford, CT. They were then transported to become ground soldiers in Bridgeport - the largest city in the state.

The Vermont ConSquad is currently fighting with fierce resistance. Many in New York were upset with the invasion near Bridgeport. Random militias from the areas of Mount Vernon, Yonkers, and The Bronx travelled northward on I-95. All the out of towners warring have just angered the Bridgeport locals, who have created a third front near the ghettos on the north side of the city. As a response, State Police and the National Guard have blockaded all roads leading out of Bridgeport into Trumbull and Shelton - including Routes 8 and 25.

TGS forces are searching all vehicles thoroughly that cross the Route 34 Dam between Monroe and Oxford. 24 hour survelliance of the area by land and water is also in the area. It is likely that the route will be closed to the public between Route 188 in Seymour and Route 111 at the Monroe/Newtown line. Route 34 is heavily frequented by TGS troops trying to rush up and down from Stratford/Milford to Newtown/New Milford. There are constant skirmishes in the streets of Derby and New Milford - although they are small and easily controlled.

The three front war in Bridgeport, Conn. continues. Bridgeport area residents have been pushed back towards their northern border with Trumbull, as The Gulf States army has moved in from Stratford in the east and New York forces coming from the west. TGS knows it will be difficult in trying to take Bridgeport - and then working westward into Fairfield, Norwalk, and Stamford. One quarter of the Vermont ConSquad unit has been killed in street combat action, approximately 125 deaths.

Attacks continue on troops in Derby, New Milford, and now Orange. A car bomb exploded in the entraceway to the Wal-Mart in Orange. There is some damage to Route 34, and the road will likely be closed to public use all the way from the West Haven - Orange line to I-84 in Newtown. The dam between Oxford and Monroe, I-95 between Exits 29 and 40, and the Merritt/Wilbur Cross Parkways between Exits 49 and 59 have all been shut down. The few remaining crossings of the Housatonic River south of I-84 still open are subject to heavy searching and patrol. The public in the area are becoming increasingly frustrated with the numerous restrictions, road closures, and other nuisances. The major roads in the region are the only ones affected, except the Post Road (Route 1).

Meanwhile, forces have gathered from all around New England. Numerous towns and cities throughout Central and Western Massachusetts are joining into the sprouting TGS America territory. Most of the suburbs to the south and west of Worcester are included. However, some are getting too close for comfort. The towns of Stafford, Union, Woodstock, and Thompson - all in Connecticut - are overwhelmingly approving to join up with TGS America. However, the distance between Thompson and Killingly - a Ramissile stronghold - is only 4 miles on average. If Putnam or Pomfret later secedes from Connecticut and joins TGS America - it may mean international borders and potential hostilities between TGS, Ramissile, a unified Rhode Island, and the rest of Connecticut. New York forces may not be able to reach the area unless they join with Hartford reunifying forces.

TGS Holdings (to now)
-85% of Vermont - including Burlington, Montpielier, Rutland, Conn. River valley
-30% of Massachusetts - including Pittsfield, territorial capital Palmer, most of Springfield metro, and some suburbs S&W of Worcester

Connecticut: Scattered towns in far northwest corner. Light hold over New Milford. Struggle continues along coastline - Derby, Milford, Orange, Stratford, and especially Bridgeport. Spotty forces in other areas along Housatonic River - especially around Monroe/Oxford and Derby/Shelton.

I got final exams coming up, so my RP'ing might taper off for just a bit, then once I finish the finals, I can resume detailed RP's.

I could do medicore quality RP's (fast typing or such) if it is needed to continue the New England war.

IC: With the ship building complete, The General began a new campain, which would expand Ramissilain territory to the Sea. Powhill planned a massive assault on New London, with naval ships traveling down the Thames, and a split group of forces , one on the east side of the river, and one on the west.

OOC: Very short, yes I know. Just needed to get things started.

News: More reinforcements from Canada and Brazil had to be rushed around to Stratford as the locals of Bridgeport and the New Yorkers joined forces creating one massive front on the western side of the city.

Air force pilots are now beginning to bomb at will on all areas not in or bordering downtown, Routes 8/25/95, and the town Fairfield. In other words, the ghetto areas.
