The Empire Never Forgets

Galactic Senate: The Imperial Chancellor thundered throughout the hall. “It is clear that the Weyr confederation will not stop until we are all destroyed. Their repeated attempts of hindering Imperial interests and even direct attacks upon the fleet cannot go unnoticed. We were lucky in the Vortex system, thanks to the swift actions of Lord Vader our losses were minimal from their cowardly attacks. It is because of their constant and unjustified aggression that I request the Senate vote and declare a state of war upon the Weyr confederation. I put it to the senate that we request Lord Vader to amass a fleet and destroy or annex the enemy territories which have been assisting the Rebel alliance.”

A thunder of cheers erupted from the senate floor. “It is agreed. As I said it would be the chancellor mumbled to his advisor. Inform Lord Vader immediately of the result. We will destroy the Confederation quickly and absorb it into the Empire. Now inform the fleet.”

The advisor left the central debate chamber and moved towards his shuttle. Lord Vader would be pleased.

One Day Later

The vote was merely a formality, the fleet was already assembled and was just waiting on the final go ahead from the senate. The admirals were all waiting within the Executor briefing room for Lord Vader who would arrive shortly to discuss the invasion. Each Admiral from each member nation was arrayed around a central table wide and round. From two large black doors Vader arrived and motioned from the collected military officers to be seated. “Well gentleman, shall we begin.”

The Dominon of Apoclania, already a member of the Galactic Empire, stands ready to assist in the destruction of the Weyr Confederation. We will supply:

10 Scimitar Class Superdestroyers (Picture: http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/factfiles/scimitar.jpg )
The Scimitar is an extremely powerful warship with nearly the amount, if not much more, of the firepower of an Executor class Star Destroyer. It has 52 Plasma Disruptor Cannons, 47 Transphasic Torpedo Banks, 27 Pulse Beam Cannons, and 1 Omega Cannon (about 1/3 the power of the Death Star Main Cannon). Defended by Primary and secondary shields, combined with a thick Neutro-Duranium hull, make a Scimitar nearly indestructable.
A Scimitar has a complement of several thousand (crew + military personnel). It's docking bays can hold large amounts of attack fighters, along with troop and armour transports. Just one Scimitar can deposit a massive wave of troops, so only a few Scimitars are needed in order to take a planet, if the vessel's captain is not ordered to destroy the planet first.
Finally, the Scimitar also has a powerful cloaking device that emits no elements that could reveal it's position to enemy vessels. Regrettably, it cannot fire while cloaked.

So, our ground forces are all transported by the Scimitars, save several unmentioned Spacial Troop Transports.

The Dominion of Apoclania would be only too pleased to share this technology with any Empire Member Nations. We await the order to attack.

OOC: I admit I did hike up the stats of a real Scimitar Warbird. Lemme know if the changed stats are ok.

@Sith: What happened to the crews of the Ocean Fleet?

General stuff: Weyr technically owns a bunch of systems, but anyone with a brain will go straight for Paradigm. Paradigm is on the edge of the galaxy, and it should take at least a day, maybe more, to get to it from Sith or Coredian space. There are heavy defenses on every planet.

Anyone who cries godmod -- I've been RP-ing and mentioning Paradigm's defenses for a while now. If you expect me to give up and go away, then too bad. None of my stuff is indestructible, and I'll be mentioning weaknesses as time goes on.

The Starfish flared into normSpace on the translation beacon, after a ten minute wait time. The man at the controls grabbed the express column, blasting past hulking lighters. He was at the inbound route for Starhavven, the eight-hundred-kilometer sphere looming on his viewscreens.

"Starhavven control, this is Starfish, requesting permission to dock," Jor sent on the comm.

"Starfish, you have clearance," the response flashed after a moment.

"Gotcha, control. Coming in to bay sixteen, berth eighty," he sent by way of protocol.

The PI had already calculated his trajectory, and written him off as one more variable in the system's plumbing. Starhavven handled thousands of craft and millions of tonns of cargo per day. A shuttle atracted little notice, even if that shuttle had the power to demolish an entire fleet.

"Jor, is this wise?" Helen, the Starfish's ghost asked.

"No," Jor replied, going into one of the massive docking bays of Starhavven. Porthole lights and craft signals flashed past.

"Then why are we doing this?"

"Because," Jor replied after a moment. "Because it's right."

"Ser Alicia," Jor bowed.

The conference room was unimpressive. The table was of battered black eternastone. The walls were deep green and gray permacrete on plasteel. A simuwindow shows Majora's Wall, a mass of asteroids so dense that, save for a few parasites and small shuttles, no craft had ever navigated it

"Ser Starfisher," the High King replied. "This is urgent, I guess," she did not smile.

The Starfishers came only when they believed that danger was imminent. Alicia remembered them coming only twice -- once to warn of the Jinnae insurrection, and once to warn of the Sith.

"Ser, you got the entire f*cking Empire on your ass. Storm sent your fleet at the Death Star. He lost. If you don't got another fleet stashed somewhere, you're screwed, royally," Jor stated. "Helen?"

"As you command," the Starfish's ghost whispered.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The same conference room was quite full a few hours later, with every phyle and corporation represented around its battered black table.

"Jor?" Alicia nodded. "Ser Jor is one of our assistants in this issue. He will be explaining what has happened."

"Alright. You've got the Ocean fleet. Quite old. Those New Paradigms got what...thirty, forty years on station? Anyway, you don't got them no more. Don't got your admiral, neither. See, the problem is, the Empire might've left you alone. But you bit its ass, so now it'll bite yours. Anyway. You got around a dozen bodies in the Empire. Sith'll send their Death Star, I wager. Everyone else'll give some token forces, and see who beats the crap outta whom. So, you've got the wall......."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alicia guessed it would take at least two days for any fleet to get to the Paradigm system. They were out on a limb, far from major commercial centers. Only Weyrean translation drives allowed for rapid travel and trade. Paradigmians, the people of the planet Paradigm, were paranoid. They were also incredibly rich.
The Outer Paradigm system was liberally seeded with scanner arrays and defense systems. There was an FTLi system. There were missile pods. The only way to get into the Paradigm system safely was to arrive at one of the public or private navigation beacons.
The three inner gas giants each had Whooper satellites, big brothers to the Whoopers present at Vortex. Then there was Starhavven, the massive plasteel and adiamantite sphere filled with craft and missiles and guns. It guarded the only viable approach through Majora's Wall and into the inner paradigm system.
Majora's Wall was a dense asteroid field, almost spherical in its shape. The points above and below Paradigm's sun were not as dense, but they were liberally sprinkled with mines and defense platforms. At all other points, Majora's Wall was so dense that craft longer than a hundred meters had to take one of the three passages crafted throughit. Two of them were so narrow that an ISD could pass through one by one, and be subject to murdeorus fire from the sphincter defenses every step of the way. Starhavven guarded the third, main sphincter, where Executors could pass side by side. The only other way for an enemy to get at Paradigm itself would be to plow through the field.
The massive mobilization has not gone unnoticed by Rebel operatives hidden on the occupied planets, mostly due to the large number of people for whom leave is cancelled. They used personal contacts to send word to the High Council of the Alliance of the mobilization, and possible targets.
There is not much we could do... Andrew Masaki thought. I could send something to try and have...yeah, that's all we can do.
Several freighters, shuttles and starfighters were sent at flank speed towards Weyr, to help with evacuations if need be.
It was strange and unnatural, Jor thought, watching the four Planetforge craft hang over the planet Paradigm, as though kissing it in a last embrace. Fifty years in the making, each craft a thousand kilometers long, they were some of the greatest achievements of Weyrean engineering and thaumaturgy. Lightly armed, designed to craft planets, they had hung in space around Paradigm Sol, the system's sun. Now, they were becoming life boats.
With the jedi silent in the depths of space, the magi'i might have been a natural target for the Sith. Alicia was not sure she'd find out.
The blue and white of Paradigm, the cold fourth planet, never looked so abandoned, Alicia thought. The three Sphincters were flooded with craft filled with reffugges. It was only a few hours after the announcement. Somewhere, Lord Vader was outlining his plans.
Jor shivered, and Alicia looked at him, for a moment. The lanky Starfisher kept staring through the shuttlecraft's viewscreen, at Paradigm and paradigm Sol beyond.
"It's so close," he said. "The sun. In the Ocean, we don't got the stars so close. It's like......right there....."
On the surface of Paradigm, the city domes were going up for the first time in a century.
"Good...Send a message to Weyr that we'll be sending some aid, ASAP...What would be the 108th's ETA once they receive the message?"
"One hour minium...They'd first have to get clearance to enter the defense perimeter around the Paradigm system...Their perimeter comparable to that of our Big Barrier system we have up..."
“Admiral Hilan, what is the status of the enemy’s defences around their homeworld and outlying systems?”
“Lord Vader the Weyr confederation according to all present data does not have more than one heavily populated world. Their fleet is typically decimated however their defensive capabilities are impressive.” A large holo picture appeared in the centre of the room.
“This information was taken from the Jedi archives upon the fall of the Coreworld government, we can consider it to be within date and reasonably accurate.”
“What about their remaining fleet compliments?”
“We are currently extracting that information from the imprisoned crew. However we do believe they have enough automated defences to make this conflict a very bloody one.”
“Do not be so sure commander. The emperor himself will be commanding the attack and he has something planned for those defensives.”
“The plan Admirals will be to move just outside weapons range of the defending installations, the combined fleet will wait for the Emperors orders, you will find the minefield gone.”
“However Lord Vader we must take extra care from these large installations.” The commander pointed towards the whopper cannons surrounding three Gas giants.
“Admiral Issard will remove those installations for us with the captured Coreworld Gravity weapons.” The Coreworldian Admiral now turned to the dark side nodded in agreement.
Further orders will be given upon the battlefield. “Dismissed.” Lord Vader left the briefing room and headed towards the bridge of the executor.
Upon the bridge Lord Vader was waiting for something before the fleet could be ordered to go into light speed. “Lord Vader?”
“Yes commander what is it?”
“We are detecting large gravitational disturbance in sector four. It’s the death Star my Lord it has just jumped out of light speed.”
“Excellent commander. Alert all commands that the fleet is to depart.”
The vast formation of Sith ships swarming around the moon of Hevila now descended into light speed. Over three thousand vessel were present in this mobilisation including the Death Star victory would soon be given to the Empire.
TORTURE OF THE CREW
“A small skinny man was thrown against a bulkhead. Captain I tire of this I really do. The force now closing around the Weyr officers windpipe began to strangle and choke him. You will tell us the weakest points upon your ships or I will execute each and every member of your crew, starting with him. Kill him!” A storm trooper emerged from the background and fired his blaster into some unknown man. “Captain I beg you do not make me kill any more. The weaknesses captain tell us now. I want the shield modulations of your vessels. You will also give us the frequency of your friendly IFF transponders. Guard Kill another one.” Once again a storm trooper raised his rifle and fired into the crowd impacting upon several of the crewmen. “This is your last chance captain tell me now, or we will destroy your homeworld completely. We just intend to absorb it into the Empire however your resistance is not amusing.”
Outer Heaven MK II
25-10-2004, 21:46
"Grand Admiral on the Bridge!"
The bridge crew of the Colossus turned on heel and saluted at Grand Admiral Anton Slavik. Two months ago, Anton had taken complete control of Outer Heaven MK II while Liquidus Snake, and the reserve fleets, went on a 'pilgrimage' to a parallel and far away universe.
Anton Slavik was one of the more 'exotic' Serpantians (when I get my 'Guide to Outer Heaven MK II posted, you'll get what I mean by more 'exotic'). He appeared to be half humanoid, half insect. He had jet black hair, eight red glowing eyes, antennae, a small slightly upturned nose, and a pair of mandiables on either side of his mouth. He had four arms, with nine fingers and a thumb on each hand. However, below his waist, he appeared to be mainly humanoid. However, because of his 'exoticness', he was a tactical genius.
In his head, he has two brains, and five processing 'spores' surrounding his brains. The brains gave him an enhanced abilities, while his processing 'spores' allowed him to see things much more detailed and in different ways to most other humanoids.
(Enough with the descriptions of my main character!)
With a grin and a nod, Anton saluted back.
"At ease, and continue with your current duties." he ordered.
The crew did so. Sighing, Anton made his way to the command chair. Sitting down, he checked over the most recent updates and reports. Satisfied, he checked his inbox. he had one message: his acceptance into the Empire.
Fantastic.
With a grin, he closed his inbox, and started looking at the readouts on the screens surrounding him.
Then, a lieutenant came up to Anton.
"Sir, the 1st Fleet and the rest of the 2nd Fleet report they're all accounted for and ready to go to Endor."
"Excellent," Anton said, "Lt., send a message to all our ships. Tell them to slave their navigation systems to the Colossus." he ordered. The Lt. bowed, and then left. Anton then turned to the officer on his right: the Helmsman.
"Helmsman, when every ship has slaved their navigation systems to the Colossus, power up the subspace drive on the Colossus and set the drive for a mass outersystem subspace jump (in other words, direct most of the power to the subspace drive to stabilise the field for the quantity of ships that'll be going thorugh). Clear?" Anton asked.
The helmsman nodded. "Yessir. I'll initiate the countdown when we're ready to jump." he said, before turning to his console. Anton hit the comm.
"This is Grand Admiral Anton Slavik. We are about to initiate a mass outersystem subspace jump. Get to your assigned stations and brace yourselves, this is going to be rough." and with that, he closed the comm.
_________________________________________________________________
"Sir, shall I start the countdown?" the helmsman asked. Anton merely nodded, his eyes staring out of the viewport. The helmsman hit a red button on his console, and a chime sounded, before a computerised voice came through.
"Initiating subspace jump in ten, nine, eight..."
The drive started to humm loudly.
"Seven, six, five, four..."
The ship started to vibrate.
"Three, two..."
All the crew grabbed on to their respective consoles.
"One...mark!"
The ship shook violently as the bright shimmering blue portal into spubspace opened before them, at least a 100KM in radius. With a violent jolt, the Colossus hurtled foward, along with the 1st and 2nd fleets into the portal...
(stats for the 1st Fleet:
Twenty Deimos Class Corvettes
Two hundred KM from Endor, a subspace portal 100KM in radius opened up...
TORTURE OF THE CREW
“A small skinny man was thrown against a bulkhead. Captain I tire of this I really do. The force now closing around the Weyr officers windpipe began to strangle and choke him. You will tell us the weakest points upon your ships or I will execute each and every member of your crew, starting with him. Kill him!” A storm trooper emerged from the background and fired his blaster into some unknown man. “Captain I beg you do not make me kill any more. The weaknesses captain tell us now. I want the shield modulations of your vessels. You will also give us the frequency of your friendly IFF transponders. Guard Kill another one.” Once again a storm trooper raised his rifle and fired into the crowd impacting upon several of the crewmen. “This is your last chance captain tell me now, or we will destroy your homeworld completely. We just intend to absorb it into the Empire however your resistance is not amusing.”
"Shield modulations? IFF transponders? There -are- no transponders. You've destroyed the entire fleet. I got no idea what the corps use. You can ask Storm," the captain spat out. OOC: Masato Storm is the Fleet Admiral. I assume you haven't killed him.
Paradigm System, Cloudhavven Station
OOC: If you've sent aid, then you're more than welcome to have your chars be present
Alicia activated the holoprojection, watched the murmurs to die down. It was a projection of the entire Paradigm system, along with the current forces. deployments. There were fewer people in the room now. Many representatives had simply withdrawn. They doubted the Empire would attack their habitations in the depths of Majora's Wall. Corporations, some of them, were simply pulling out.
"The FTLi system will be going online as soon as we get word of the Sith departure. That's out first line of defense. They can't bypass the outsystem defenses. The outsystems are centered around the system elliptic," a wide, doughnut-shaped ring surounding the system was highlited. "These are heavy missile and scanner platforms. Another ring extends over Paradigm Sol. Together, they hold around forty thousand missiles."
"The secondary defenses are the Whooper cannon on Aqua, Echel, and Jenna," the three outer gas giants were highlited. "The Sith will most probably come into this location." a wide band appeared. "Aqua will not be of much help due to its position, but both Echel and Jenna are in good position to use their orbital stations. There are forty Whooper orbitals on each planet, and a number of sky fortresses."
"There are five ways through Majora's Wall short of blasting through it." the nearly spherical envelope between the outer and inner planets was highlited. "The points above and below the elliptic are loose enough that craft can go through. They have a good amount of automated defenses and mine installations, however. There are three artificial holes through the Wall. two of them" two tubules were imposed onto the sphere, "are too narrow to allow much traffic. I doubt they'll be used, and the sphincter defenses around them are quite tough."
"The third section," she highlited the last hole in the shpere of Majora's Wall."Is the main trade route. Several SSDs can fit through it side by side. I expect it to be the main point of attack. Perhaps the Imperials will run the gauntlet and try to go above or below the eliptic, but the heavy Whoopers at Paradigm Sol (system's sun) should handle them.
"Starhavven Station is located on the outside of the Wall, directly at the point of entry into this passage. Its shields might be able to withstand one strike from the Death Star, but no more than that. I expect Starhavven to use its missiles, or to stay out of the conflict alltogether. This depends on the board of directors, not on me."
"Beyond the sphincter defenses we will put most of our forces, with some in reserve. If the imperials do attack from multiple sides, then we can always shift our forces to meet the threat. Our job is to keep the Sith busy while the Planetforges make their escape. Now, are there any questions?" Alicia asked.
"Ser, we don't have the ability to handle the Flux, not yet."
"Do we have a choice? There are six Flux cannon at our disposal. I suggest we use them.
"There's always a choice. Haven't we seen what Flux did at Southport? That was just a residual. This'll be the real thing. Maybe the Sith won't be able to use the system, but neither will we."
"In this case, that may be the lesser evil. We have seen what the Empire, or at least its allies do to their people..."
"Oy!" the bellow made people grab their ears, wince in pain. Children quieted. "I want One consort per chid. If you don't got at child, then you have No business to be here!" the massive magus shouted. Part ogre, part troll, with other parts thrown in as a bonus, he was twice as tall as the tallest human, and just as broad. He switched to a pacifying hex for the next part. "The only thing the Impies want are your orbital defenses. The are NOT going to slag your homes."
The riots quieted. Weyreans turned their labors to more productive things. The Tower did not operate overtly, not now.
Three hours later, many of Jenna's orbital installations were firmly in local hands. Under the Contract, there was no way for the Weyrean government to stop such action.
"admiral if you need me i will be in the training room"
Raven walked off out of the bridge to the training room in the lower levels. You are ordered to initiate your hyperdrive, and move on the Paradigm system.
Sotan smiled. "At last: combat. Helm! Status of hyperspace engines!"
"Fully charged!" said the Helm Officer.
"Good! Set co-ordinates for the outskirts of the Paradigm Systems, and prepare to jump on my mark. Tactical! Raise primary shields to maximum level, keep secondary shields on standby, and energize the armour. Bring ALL weapons banks to maximum ready status, and power the cloaking device."
The Tactical Officer worked hurriedly. "Primary shields online, armour energized. Weapons fully armed, and cloaking device is powered. We are go for launch."
Several Bridge Officers snickered, Sotan included. "All right, I am transmitting attack plans to all vital stations. Look them over extensively, I expect them to be followed exactly. If you have anything to make them better, by all means, use them. We'll need all the help we can get. If you need a more simplified version of the plan, just remember these words: Whack a Mole. The asteroids of Majora's Wall shot past the viewers.
There were four great spokes, crystalline pillars a thousand kilometers long, attached to the planet's equator. In reality, they hovered half a kilometers above the surcafe, but that was unimportant.
"The Planetforge comstructs are unarmed, but they can hold at least half the population of Paradigm OOC: ~400million, and their forward armor has been designed to withstand more than enough punishment. That's what we're protecting. Unfortunately, even premium rates aren't enogh to attract civilian craft for the evacuation."
“The fleet is coming out of hyperspace my Lord, we are at the edge of their inhibitor field.”
The emperor upon his raised dias was in intense concentration, he was preparing for something, something huge. After a few moments an elderly crackly voice was raised. “Good, good Order the fleet to move into position just outside weapons range. The minefield will be cleared.”
“Yes my Lord.”
The Captain turned and left the throne room. The death star now more secure than Curoscant itself was a moveable, impregnable fortress. The vast Sith fleet arrayed behind the death star would wait and wonder at what surprise the emperor had in store. At the edges of the minefield itself a vast ripple slowly began to form it turned and twisted and slowly generated into a force caused void. Its vast gravitational pull would begin to pull in mines from all directions. A stagnant field would be bad enough however this field was moving. Those force users who knew of this ancient power would realise that the emperor was creating a dark storm. Turning and twisting it the vast hole in the force would pull and destroy almost anything it touched or came near.
On board the executor Lord Vader himself was preparing the fleet. “Commander, send the signal to have all ships launch their fighters. Have the Corpsacian vessels hold the flank while Sith and Chronosian warships take the brunt of the main assault. I want all interdiction cruisers at the forward lines. Repeat this to all ships as I want the incoming weapons of the Whooper canons to be deflected or halted by interdiction fields while the Coreworldian ships take out the cannons. The rest of the fleet is to provide tactical supports and engage any enemy ships approaching the fleet.”
“At once Lord Vader.”
"Alright," Alicia nodded.
"Ser?"
"The Contract isn't a suicide pact. Jenna's just the first. There'll be more people bailing out," Alicia explained. It's what I'm counting on, she did not say.
"Incoming craft. ETA twenty minutes," the announcement boomed through the Net.
The fleet encountered little resistance. Mine and missile stations drifted into the Dark Storm. There were more in the two doughnut-shaped rings around the Paradigm system, though many were out of range.
"All Weyrean-aligned military craft -must- exit the station within ten minutes, or be confiscated," the message blared through the giant sphere of Starhavven. In the central command center, at the heart of the station, the Directors were gathered at the back, watching the holoprojections of the multiple forces.
"Contact the High King," Director Yueh of Paradox Enterprises, nd CEO of the Cloudhavven Board of Directors, commanded.
"Comm channel open," the tech said.
"Ser Alicia, the Board of Directors has voted. Starhavven is no longer bound to the Contract," Yueh stated over the link.
"I understand. Have you told the Empire?" Alicia asked after a short moment.
"Yes ser, we're about to."
"Well then, I wish you luck."
"And you, ser."
******************
Let it hereby be known that the Associated Prefectures of Jenna are no longer part of the Kingdom of Weyr. Any and all military craft belonging to either the Kingdom of Weyr or the Empire will not be permitted to enter the Jenna planetary system.
Even as that message went out on all bands, Whooper cannon in orbit around the gas giant itself shifted in their orbits. Three seconds later the four moon, Eritrea, was turned into a field of subatomic particles and slag. Twelve of the thrity Whooper cannon had been destroyed by self-defense stations controlled by the new Jenian government. Eritrea was a weapons dump. Now, it was gone along with its heavy armaments.
"The Station of Starhavven refuses to take sides in this conflict. This is an official termination of the Contract, and our part in the Kingdom of Weyr. Military craft belonging to combatants are no longer welcome in Starhavven." blared from Starhavven Station.
"my lord orders comeing in from Lord Vader, We're to hold the flank" the Admiral reported.
"suits me, order all ship to attack formation. Rise shield, Arm weapons activate the Real barrier" Raven order "Send out all fighters and have the Pocket Dreadnoughts move in to a Sphere Formation. Also make shore all Troop Transports and Ground forces are ready for invasion just in case we need them"
"aye my lord" the Admiral replyed "send out all 3DM Drones link all data to the Entire fleet lets make shore C&C is working on all the Pocket Dreadnoughts."
The ships started moveing as the fighters poured out of the Pocket Dreadnoughts and Battlecarriers. The battle ships took up at the front and read and the Destroyers covered each flank. The real Barrior went out to a distance of 2 Light seconds preventing any Interdimentional ripes, tears, openings etc in the radios of the CorpSacian fleet.
the drones poured out of the PDs activateing there stelth and heading into the mest of the system mapping it all and sending it back to the Pocket Dreadnoughts, that in turn was sending Data to ALL allied ships.
OOC: basicly the PDs are sending tactical Data to all vessals in the entire fleet thanks to the Sensors it has and so forth, 3D maping means that holo imageing of all ships friend and foe are produced and what ever elce is in the system. If you can detect the drones it will do disrupt the data but the Sensors on the PDs are just as good (just means we dont get 100% acurate data).
The Real Barrior means that anything that uses interdimentional traval (any traval thats not in Real space) and trys to open a protol cant. tho the radios is not that grate but it does the job (only 372 564.794 miles radios)
The Dominon of Apoclania, already a member of the Galactic Empire, stands ready to assist in the destruction of the Weyr Confederation. We will supply:
10 Scimitar Class Superdestroyers (Picture: http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/scans/factfiles/scimitar.jpg )
The Scimitar is an extremely powerful warship with nearly the amount, if not much more, of the firepower of an Executor class Star Destroyer. It has 52 Plasma Disruptor Cannons, 47 Transphasic Torpedo Banks, 27 Pulse Beam Cannons, and 1 Omega Cannon (about 1/3 the power of the Death Star Main Cannon). Defended by Primary and secondary shields, combined with a thick Neutro-Duranium hull, make a Scimitar nearly indestructable.
A Scimitar has a complement of several thousand (crew + military personnel). It's docking bays can hold large amounts of attack fighters, along with troop and armour transports. Just one Scimitar can deposit a massive wave of troops, so only a few Scimitars are needed in order to take a planet, if the vessel's captain is not ordered to destroy the planet first.
Finally, the Scimitar also has a powerful cloaking device that emits no elements that could reveal it's position to enemy vessels. Regrettably, it cannot fire while cloaked.
So, our ground forces are all transported by the Scimitars, save several unmentioned Spacial Troop Transports.
The Dominion of Apoclania would be only too pleased to share this technology with any Empire Member Nations. We await the order to attack.
OOC: I admit I did hike up the stats of a real Scimitar Warbird. Lemme know if the changed stats are ok.
At the edges of the minefield itself a vast ripple slowly began to form it turned and twisted and slowly generated into a force caused void. Its vast gravitational pull would begin to pull in mines from all directions. A stagnant field would be bad enough however this field was moving. Those force users who knew of this ancient power would realise that the emperor was creating a dark storm. Turning and twisting it the vast hole in the force would pull and destroy almost anything it touched or came near.
The bridge crew, and all other below the command deck who saw the massive distortion, were shocked.
"Never mind weapons range, what the hell is THAT?!"
The Sensor Officer hurried to scan the distortion. "Some kind of ultra-powerful gravitational distortion. I'm picking up something else, but I can't identify it."
Sotan's First Officer, Daitengu Intermediate Grade Keran looked intently at the distortion. "It's a dark hole." she said.
Sotan turned. "A what?"
"A dark hole, sir. I've heard about it from force users. It takes an extreme amount of concentration and control of the force to be able to make one."
"What does it do?"
"It's pretty much a 'Force Controlled Black Hole'. The sheer gravitational forces are so powerful anything that comes into contact with it is destroyed instantly. If the one creating the dark hole loses control, regaining it is near impossible, even for the most advanced users."
"Well, who could make this?"
The answer was too obvious. "The Emperor."
The comm panel beeped. "Receiving transmission from Lord Vader's vessel, sir."
All ships are to launch their fighters. The Corpsacian vessels hold the flank while Sith and Chronosian warships take the brunt of the main assault. All interdiction cruisers at the forward lines. The incoming weapons of the Whooper canons are to be deflected or halted by interdiction fields while the Coreworldian ships take out the cannons. The rest of the fleet is to provide tactical supports and engage any enemy ships approaching the fleet.”
The bridge was silent for a moment.
"Well?" shouted Sotan. "You heard Lord Vader, launch fighters!"
"Yes, Daitengu!" shouted the Tactical Officer, quickly relaying Sotan's orders to the fighter bays.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RAGNAROK FIGHTER BAYS
In each Scimitar Class Superdestroyer were five massive fighter bays, designed specifically to launch massive numbers of fighters. Each bay held at least 200 fighters, meaning there could be as many as 1000 attack fighter/bombers loaded into a superdestroyer, and in this case, there was. And with 10 fully loaded SuperDestroyers, there had to be at least 10,000 fighters ready for combat.
The launch alarm began to blare, and red lights flashed. Pilots who had been waiting patiently were snapped into alertness, and they darted to their respective fighters. They hopped into the fighter cockpits, strapped on restraints, and powered up their fighters, waiting for clearance to liftoff. It came soon afterwards, as Sotan gave the all clear for launch.
Sotan sent an order to all SuperDestroyers: "All vessels, launch only two bays of fighters each. I want the rest on standby for when major combat begins. Judging by the sheer size of the Sith fleet, the chance might be slim. But i want to be ready."
Each of the 10 vessels acknowledged the order, and dispatched 400 fighters each.
"All fighters, take formation along with the rest of the fleet. Wait for the order to attack. If any hostile forces approach us, you have clearance to fire."
IC: Two Hundred Kilometers away from Paradigm, a large subspace portal opened. It just stayed there, shimmering, as if it were under . This is because the portal was relatively small in size for the fleet it was carrying (to reduce sensor pickups). However, after a few seconds, something burst out of the portal. Then another, then a couple, then a dozen, then a thousand, and so on. After a minute, all of them came out of the portal and curled up into a ball.
These were sentinels, a special type of war machine developed shortly after the Shivan Invasion. Sentinels were squid like killer machines, with hundreds of tenticles, each one with morphable claws. The head of the sentinel had fifty red 'eyes', each one of different size to another. After a minute, they assessed the situation, and then, then burst out of their ball, and into a large river...flowing straight to Paradigm...
Meanwhile, the 1st Fleet jumped out of the portal, one ship at a time. The portal closed, and the ships got into formation, before moving towards the Sith fleet...
A Whooper station was, in essense, a giant pile of fusactors and firien cells, with a projector mounted on one end. For all purposes, a Whooper could keep firing as long as it had energy. Sitting a few thousand kilometers above Paradigm-Sol, sixty Whooper cannon turned on the Imperial ships. Sixty stars flashed around the yellow sun. Sixty beams ripped towards the Imperial craft from a million kilometers away.
"Lock shields," Admiral Ernesto Miranda commanded. The Paradigm Defense Fleet had over two hundred craft, ranging from small cruisers to hulking battleships. Without translation drives, they had significantly heavier shields and weapons. Locking shields concentrated the Weyrean craft into a dangerously small space, and prevented them from maneuvering, but it boosted shield power even more. They formed a block as the Imperials moved forward, into the inner Paradigm system. Their job was to block up the Imperial advance through the great gap in Majora's Wall, then retreat to Paradigm itself.
As the Emperors orders relayed across the screens Admiral Taine began to shout orders.
"Release the Tie Daggers and Tie Defenders, I want the Daggers to form a defensive screen for us while the Defenders attack the stations, prepare to launch Proton torpedoes and Concussion missles."
"Parasites, coming in," tactical muttered.
"Keep formation. The stations got their own defenses. Dooman, Sith, and Coredian heavies coming in. Fire at will," Miranda responded. At that moment, sixty Whooper cannon beams ripped past the Weyrean craft, towards the enemy fleet, guided by the Weyrean fleet's scanners. "Ready to move," he commanded. The Weyrean craft opened up with their own Wave Guns, unleashing the power of three dozen SSDs every four seconds at every craft in range. Turbolaser shot splayed across combined shields. Craft buckled. Engineers rushed to smooth out flows between various craft.
For the TIEs attacking the eighty Whoopers around the sun, the REASON gatlings and FLAK were waiting. Interceptor missiles shot towards the Ekardian torpedoes. Some hit, some did not. Flashes peppered the long bodies of the Whoopers. These were no ordinary Whooper, but heavy stations built to withstand solar storms and Paradigm-Sol's tempestuous energies. Whoopers were getting disabled, but slowly. For now, they kept up their murderous fire, fire that was capable of ripping through an SSDs forward shields in two shots.
Fleet Details:
Paradigm Defense Fleet:
39x Nox Ships of the Line Mk1-Mk4 (1 disabled)
60x Marchese heavy Cruisers (2 disabled)
148x New Paradigm Light Cruisers or equivalent (20 disabled)
42x Other Craft (8 disabled)
Parasites: N/A
52x Whooper cannon (8 disabled)
Waiting for results from dispersed attack (4 waves) of what are, in essense twelve thousand SSD broadsides. You can shoot them down with pretty much anything, from TIE cannon to small turbolasers, depending on how good your gunners are.
Taine gazed at the wave of enemy fire coming at his fleet.
"Call back the Ties, have them begin firing at the enemy "missiles",(is that what they are?) All gunners are to begin firing at will, launch all torpedoes and missiles at the fleet now.
The fighters began shooting down some of the "missiles" but many(fighters) were shot down by the incoming fire, lasers began picking off some of the fire along with the torpedoes, but it just wasn't enough, some of the fire made it through and began hitting frigates and destroyers destroying them with only a few shots. Taine watched in horror as his fleet was decimated, he gazed at the hulks of 19 Star destroyers and 33 frigates. Human bodies floated in the vacuum of spacenear the battered hulls of their former ships. The formation he had picked for the fleet had saved many Star Desttroyers the frigates in front of them taking much of the fire.
"Call in reinforcements I want another fleet here immediately, now fire again everything at the Whooper cannons."
The turbolaser fire and torpedoes went toards the massive cannons. taine hoped to god that this barrage did more than the last did.
And as they continued onward; their weapons blazing, their thoughts bent entirely towards conquest...They could almost imagine how sweet victory would taste.
"Sir, Whooper stations in range."
"Good. Let's see how our new weapons do with them. Program a spread of gravity missiles for...100 meters and two minutes." A spread is 5 missiles. The width is the width of the event horizon. The time is the time the black holes would last before they disappear.
"Very well, sir." The officer punched in a series of commands.
"Aim the missiles at the closest cluster." Admiral Isard ordered. "Tell all allied fighters and ships that if they value their lives, they'd better keep away from the stations!"
"Yes sir!" The comms officer sent the warning while the targeting computers locked on the Whooper stations.
"We have firing solutions!"
The admiral didn't hesitate. "Fire!"
From the bowels of the Iron Fist, special missile launchers, larger than normal ones, opened and 5 blue streaks lanced out at the Whooper cannons, while the fleet continued to barrage others with turbolasers and ion cannons, as well as concussion missiles and proton torpedoes.
Each blue streak headed for the stations at near c, hard to track and shoot. When they detonate (usually a few dozen meters), they will flash, then they will start growing black spinning dots. The dots will grow larger and larger into the most feared object of space travellers: black holes. The black holes will continue to grow to full size, dragging space-time and nearby objects into an accretion disc and then consume everything into its event horizon, where tidal forces and the deadly singularity await to tear apart matter, atom by atom.
Admiral Dodonna was a happy man. He'd lived most of his life commanding 'defensive' ships in the armpit of Outer Heaven space.
The 'armpit' was a lawless region of space, filled with dense methane nebulae (one of the reasons why it was called the armpit) and many asteroids. Sadly, while the armpit is abandoned, it's the only gap in Outer Heaven's defence perimeter. Although, many ships have been lost to asteroid bashings and nebulae explosions.
But two months ago, that all changed. Liquidus Snake took the 1st Fleet with him on a 'Pilgrimage' to some Parallel and inverted universe, and the gap left by that needed to be filled. And so, with no other Admirals spare, Anton Slavik (you know who he is) replenished the 1st Fleet gap, and put Dodonna as Commander.
And so, the Admiral sat on his command chair, grinning. He watched the Sentinels, Outer Heaven's squid like machines, slither towards Paradigm.
That should keep those blasted Weyrians busy...
"Sir! We're now in contact range of the Sith Fleet! Shall I send a message?" A young Comm. Officer asked, his hand expectantly hovering over his console.
Dodonna nodded, "Tell them that we bring supplies from Endor, and that we're here to aid the invasion. Make the transmission thin-band, so the enemy won't pick it up." he ordered. The Comm. Officer nodded.
His hands danced over the console, and then he hit a big green button.
The attack was going well and so it should. The Home system of the so called Kingdom of Weyr was well defended however not defended well enough. The Imperial forces were still pushing into the system though a million km away from the sun they were still well within the defensive perimeter. The Interdictor cruisers with their large gravitational fields deflected and offset most incoming missiles with their large gravitational cones. The fields deployed heavily in front of the fleet were not enough to deflect missiles fired from the rear and sides of the fleet for that the Empire used sheer shield strength and durability.
“Lord Vader we are detecting an energy build up in the whopper cannons surrounding the sun. Enemy interference is affecting our systems slightly however we believe they are charging to fire.”
“Good Work commander plot the trajectories of the weapons and take evasive action.”
The enemy cannons would be firing almost a million km away from the fleet giving Imperial ships sufficient time to take evasive action and manoeuvre away from the incoming destructive beams. In mid firing sequence a tactical officer sounded over the silence of the bridge. “Gravity weapons deployed by the Coreworldian forces.”
Lord Vader instantly reacting would insure as little friendly casualties as possible. “Order the fleet to keep its distance and have all fighters retreat back tot eh capital ship formations to assist in the reduction of enemy missile strikes.”
“At once Lord Vader.”
As soon as the transmission was sent another voice sounded over the bridge along with a bright explosion signifying the destruction of an Imperial Star Destroyer. “We have just lost the Honour.”
“Order the vengeance to take its place I do not want a hole forming in our formation. What is the time until we get into range of the enemy fleet?”
“Three minutes Lord Vader.”
From the death star the emperor was viewing the battle with pleasure. The sheer aura of the dark side filling him with power, driving him more insane, driving his lust for conquest. While the abandonment of Weyr by most of the Kingdoms allies had not gone unnoticed. In order to capitalise on the situation an offer of surrender was drafted. Merely an audio signal by the captain of the Death Star however it bore the weight of the Emperors words.
“Attention all enemy forces. You have now witnessed the might of the Empire. You have fought with honour and given your lives but surely now you must realise that victory is impossible. Surrender now and your lives, your families and your homeworld and planets will be spared. Throw away the madness that is your government, join a Kingdom that can protect its citizens.”
It took a few moments for the replies to be sent back.
"One: you're not a Kingdom. Two: go f*ck yourself. Three: we've got a contract outstanding." Some form of that message was sent back to the Imperials by nearly every craft in the fleet. Had there not been Doomans in the Imperial force, the Weyrean fleet might have taken up the offer. As such, they were more afraid of the Doomans than of death.
"If you want to talk surrender terms, then you can stand down your weapons." Alicia sent from Paradigm. "I'm perfectly willing to end this idiocy right now."
In the meanwhile, Weyrean craft pulled quarter reverse, and began to shift back towards Paradigm. Coredian grav weapions exploded, demolishing a dozen Whoopers around the system's sun. A dozen more fell to bombardment. The twenty odd remaining cannon kept firing. Weyrean craft exploded, shields overloaded, or fallen out of formation.
"All craft, stand down weapons, the command came. In a few moments, the firing stopped on the Weyrean side. More power surged into shields instead.
Paradigm's orbit was filled with construction yards, docks, and everything necessary to construct and maintain star ships. Automated defense turrets kept watch over the planet. Forty Whooper cannon were gathered on a single hemisphere, ready to fire once the Imprial fleet came into range.
"Ready missiles,"
"Solution plotted,"
"Fire,"
Missile outposts in orbit around Paradigm opened with six hundred hyperfusion missiles. Flashes of light burst in the sky as they went hyper towards the Sentinels, each as powerful as a broadside from an SSD, set to blow on proximity and cover the widest area possible. They were smart misiles, with full scanner systems and pseudo-intelligence that could shift course to accomodate Sentinel shifts in trajectory.
There were six hundred missiles, and many more sentinels. To the missile PI, a bunch of sentinels was just one big target. They split up, covering quite a larger area, and exploded, filling the interplanetary space with bright novas. Deciding that the issile's effect was not what it should be, the orbital PI switched to CIWS systems.
Space between the sentinels and Paradigm's orbitals was rapidly turning into a field of higgh-velocity shrapnel. As the order to cease fire came in Taine began looking at damage reports, 19 Star Destroyers, and 36 Frigates had been destroyed. 5 SD's would need extensive repairs. 3 fighter squadrons had been completely eliminated while others had taken light losses.
OOC: In a perfectly Weyrean gesture, anyone who wants to use Paradigm's repair facilities is more than welcome to do so, provided they pay up (at a discount rate, of course)
As for losses -- let's just say that Paradigm will be busily churning out new craft for at least a decade.
It had taken the (former) High King less than ten minutes to send out notices to the various (former) government agencies. The City Watch would continue to function, paid as it was directly by the several thousand local Urban Core Councils. The High Guard and Star Guard were private organizations, whose stock was already rising. Half of Weyr was made up of semi-independent governments in any case, with their own armies, services, and infrastructures. Another twenty minutes later, the (former) High King was somewhere in the sprawl of Paradigm City. Now that she was out of a job......it was time for a long vacation.
"I feel sorry for the poor sod who gets my job," Alicia chuckled.
The ancient netRadio behind the bar continued to rattle off news in the high-speed Wye City dialect. "Unconfirmed rumors of a massive Star Guard order continue to send Paradigm Index stocks to hew heights......." The Star Guard had lost a number of ships, and several thousand hands, which didn't matter in the long run. Weyrean military forces were not made up of patriotic youths, not in a significant way. For most, it as a job with a rather high rate of pay, and which was usually quite safe except for an occasional war.
"Have they named someone, yet?" Ash inquired.
"Nope. It's only a matter of time, though. It's not like they'll let me stay on..."
"Ser Alicia, ser Ash, your orders," the host sent a tray shooting down the oily counter.
"Thank you," Alicia caught it. "....Anyway, it's not like the system'll collapse or anything. We're an anarchy, after all. Anything goes," she waved a black-gloved hand.
Anything I can do for you, disembodied voice-person? Alicia asked, amused, deftly using her chopsticks in a war against undercooked brown rice.
Company? Ash asked on another thought-thread, noticing the thought-link, though unable to follow it. Three millenia were more than enough time for Ash to hone his thaumaturgic skills.
"Alicia, we have a problem," Ash muttered in her ear. There was a commotion at the entrance to the dingy, narrow pub. There were few commotions in Paradigm City, the Neo-Victorians made sure of that with aerostats, mites, and City Watch patrols.
"I see it," Alicia responded quietly after a moment. "Can't say I expected it." Wheels within wheels, she thought.
"Do we have a problem?" a loud voice penetrated the hubbub. Alicia knew that tone. It was the tone of a City Watch officer, probably mounted on his mechanical horse, outside the pub's open door. The Paradigm City Watch was efficient, and very good at what it did. Whomever was causing the problem would have his hands full. Alicia doubted, however, that it was just a drunk who had slightly spooked Ash.
Another voice whispered through the force; seemingkly like one made from many, babbling, cackling, its signature and words distorted, horribly twisted.
Someone moved through the crowd, pausing, looking up, crouching before...
Leaping through the air and landing on a nearby rooftop; skill was this one in the ways and abilities of the force; Chronos smirked, chuckled and moved along the rooftop.
The sentinels (after the battle) had lost a few, but still over half of their original swarm was unscathed. With their new orders, they all swarmed towards Paradigm...
A few minutes later, the Sentinels landed. Many townspeople were worried at first, until the Sentinels made a circle, and unmorphed their razor saws.
In the circle, two troop transports landed.
"Alright troops, you know the drill! Lets move!"
Hatches popping open, hundreds of guardsmen emerged, Katanas in their back holsters, Pulse Rifles out, armour shining. Slowly, the guardsmen spread out...
"You are under arrest for violation of section 4a of the Common Economic Treaty. Any resistance by you will result in physical, psychological, or, depending on your belief system, spiritual harm," the officer spat out. Two of his comrades picked up the man, wrapped in a cacoon of high-strength arachnoweave. A second later, they were gone.
The sun was setting on Pradigm City. Moving mediatrons turned up their brightness, stalked potential clients. The four Planetforge constructs disgorged the few thousand people they had accumulated over the two days, rotated ponderously, activated their drives for a short journey back to their normal siations around Paradigm Sol.
Life went on. Somewhere, foreign troops landed and found themselves quite ignored.
"Someone's following us," Ash stated as they shoved their way through the evening crowds. Workers in coveralls and suits filled the many-tiered streets and walkways. paradigm's spires rose around them, a hundred floors or more into the air. Alicia and Ash were on the fiftieth floor skystreet. Mediatrons glared from windows, walls, and aerostats, images of painful flashes, fast cars and naked women.
"I know," Alicia replied.
Why not? Alicia chuckled. The steamer train had just arrived as Ash and Alicia entered the platform located in one of the massive skyscrapers n the outskirts of Paradigm City. They crammed inside, wedged like sardines in the car. Paradigm City was becoming like Wye City -- a teeming, crowded metropolis -- despite all the efforts of the Neo-Victorians who had originally founded the Paradigm Prefecture a century ago.
The officers pushed the last of the commuters inside the train cars. The steamer took off, accelerating a meter above the tripple rail, going through a myriad of buildings and over countless wide and narrow streets towards Paradigm Starport.
Whatever, Alicia replied. I assume you know where I'm going. "Friggin' psychopaths..." she sighed, weight shifting as the Steamer rounded a sharp curve, pressing slightly into the man in front of her.
The train filtered out over the next few stations, but it remained quite cramped by most standards nonetheless.
Paradigm Starport's interiors ranged from magnificent halls to dark, narrow passageways.
"I'm betting he's gonna pop out of the shadows and go into a long rant," Alicia laughed. There were quite a few branching ways on this path, most of them rather dark. Someone had decided to leave packing crates along the right-hand wall. Alicia's small craft was in one of the old berths, a few meters down the corridor.
"How else," Ash replied. Nonetheless, both of them were ready to draw their starblades at a moment's notice.
The magus sighed, called up two more magi'i for backup, flanked the High King. Several hundred mag'i flirted around the scene, reinforcing the thaumaturgic web, watching for anyone suspicious. Emergency vehicles, funded by the semi-independant phyle that was Neo-Victorian Paradigm, picked a spot and began dosing the wreckage with pseudo-sand. it would be a few minutes before the Alchemists would arrive.
Alicia watched the scene, standing in the shaodw of a gothic building, calling up what she knew of their attacker, running the data through her head.
The ground cracked and squealed, as something forced its way up; enraged, fuelled by malice, Chronos stood up, his eyes glimmering, focussed on Alicia. He moved, slashing at her.
"Hello pretty..."
His dark chuckle crackled in the night, shattering the silence..
The three magi'i became blurs, faster than the eye could follow. Their nerves screamed in protest at the step-up. Something heavy slammed Alicia down onto the cold permacrete, covering her body with its own. The shape groaned, went limp. Two pairs of blades ignited in the dark night, charged the assailant.
"Come to me..."
"We lost the trail. He's got a buffer up, or something," a magus flashed back to him.
"Alert out assets....." Ash sent back to the central office at The Tower. Anyone with a woman who looked like Alicia, or even a woman without a left arm, would find quite a large bounty on his head, at least in those parts there were bounty hunters.
There were thousands of private shuttlecraft in service around Paradigm who would take a body to the end of the world, for a price. A powerful magus could, of course, simply comandeer a craft and force the pilot to navigate tranSpace to a particular location. In the middle of the night even the largest throughfares were nearly empty, and the mediatrons loudly proclaimed their transport services at the occoasional passerby.
"Spirits damn it.." Mike muttered, as an intruder alarm went off in the control center. As the night-shift pilot, he was the only person in the station. He grabbed a blaster off the tabletop, opened the back door leading to the tarmak, where three sleek interstellar shuttlecraft were parked....
On one of these crafts the lights were on; a woman lay, prone in one of the seats; bound...In another, someone hunched over the controls; hands moving with almost preternatural speed. He seemed wounded; yet strong, eager...Determined.
Something stirred behind Chronos; and his ears pricked up. He prepared to turn, slowly.
"Shuttlecraft number 11A74FB, registered to Mike, Smith, and James Transportation," the message flashed as the craft entered interplanetary space. "Please be advised that only Sphincter One is open for use at this time."
There were three ways of exiting the inner Paradigm system, and two of them were closed due to the recent military incident. The only way to pass the asteroid field of Majora's Wall was through the primary, artificial hole.
Chronosia
Weyr
The shuttle went hyper. Too small for a transDrive, it made do with a hyperdrive. The traffic around Paradigm was coming back to normal. twelve hours of combat was not something that could halt a trillion Weyrs of commercial activity. The hypertrail would be confused within an hour.
*******
"Thank the Spirits he used a hyperdrive," Ash sighed.
The public net was filled with speculations. Some regarded the message as a hoax, others wondered what it meant, and many more shrugged and went about their daily lives. Every week some psycho said he had captured the High King, and this time didn't seem to be any different. Besides, the fact that someone had blown up the main Paradigm City source was a lot more interesting.
Ash drew on The Tower's significant credit, pulled up hyper-capable survey drones to follow the shuttlecraft's trail. Each relay beacon kept a log of who used it for transmissions. The trail was confused, but it could be followed with time, and time was something that Ash did not think he had. In the meanwhile, he grabbed his old craft, and went off to find the people who had contacted Alicia........
......Black turned to white, white turned to black, and the universe inverted for a moment that took an eternity......
"Well, let's see if we've got the right spot," Ash muttered, as his ship reverted to normSpace.
A dozen silvery vessels, each marked with the ouroborous and the alchymical array of The Tower, floated around the abandoned craft.
"Ser, I can't figure anything out besides that they were here a time ago." said the scryer, rubbing her temples. "This friggin' darkness is screwing up the lines. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, ser,"
"It's not a problem. Thank you," Ash inclined his head. The blood did not disturb him, nor the scryer. Scryers worked on the unspeakable cases, and Ash had seen thousands slaughtered, has slaughtered thousands himself. Still, he had failed, for now.
Alicia said the person who contacted her felt like a Masaki. She couldn't pinpoint the thought-feel to either Daniel or Andrew, but it felt like one of them, she was sure of that. He had two choices, and neither was attractive. Both Andrew and Daniel were fighting against the Imperials on some planet -- getting to them would be difficult, at best.......And summoning a dead Masaki would require a hellish amount of life-force.
"Impound the craft, pay the owner twice its value." Ash commanded.
"Wh..." Alicia slowly felt the room take shape about her. The stump of her left arm twitched. The mites were still blocking pain-receptors, for now. You... she sensed the ghost, ' heard' his words.
"Alicia, perhaps you know me and perhaps you don't. The Force tells me that you are needed elsewhere, and not on this...ship. I am Jedi Master Tenchi Masaki, the Patriarch of the Masaki Dynasty, and I have seen the loss of billions to the evil of the Sith. Weyrean immune system mites were built to kill anything foreign, to the extent that doctors had to reconfigure them every time they wanted to perform anything more than a surface scan. Antigens detected. Activating counters.... several million nanites became aware of some foreign substance. Little machines, drawing power from Alicia's body, began breaking apart the intruders molecule by molecule. She shivered, at the negative energy change, winced as skin and sinew stretched and broke in her remaining hand. That was not something that would activate defensive neural mites.The drug was working, if not as well as it would have normally.
Easy for you to say, she retorted mentally to Tenchi as he vanished.
OOC: where is the ship?
IC:
Tenchi followed the streams of the Force through the galaxy. The ebb and flow of the Force allowed him to travel where he needed to go...to a place far from the battlefields, where even he barely knew it. He knew he was taking a risk with this plan of his, but then, did he have a choice?
He found himself on the planet where he needed to be, a planet that teems with towns and farms. He searched through the Force for the contacts he needed, and found them.
Alex Masaki, estranged member of the Masaki family, noticed a familiar presence and widened his eyes slightly in surprise, even as his younger brother Christopher Masaki smiled a bit.
"Father." Chris said. "It's been a while."
"Yes, indeed." Tenchi said, narrowing his eyes at Alex. "Too long, I'd say."
Alex looked down, ashamed at his past as he was silently admonished by his father who returned from the grave.
"I wouldn't have come to you both if I didn't need you two." Tenchi said, his blue-ghost not seen by anyone else but his sons. "A friend of mine is in need, and I can't exactly help her directly."
"Ah." Alex was interested. Perhaps it is time to deal with the Sith...he has been away too long.
