OOC:The big 4 of CHina, Sino, Taiwan, Xiaguo, and Chuang-han have been a unified or, a seemingly united China. However, due to the recent political reforms of nearby countries, Xiaguo must seek an ally united by royal ties. Xiaguo , The Consitutional of China is probably the fastest and richest of the 4 China's will the largest millitary, however, the country itself has been corrupt many years even after the civil war. Xiaguo is one of the largest trading partners in Asia and having good ties with Xiaguo may mean great welath not only wealth, but a great backing.

In the process they rescued one-hundred and twenty hostages. Wei was promoted to the rank of Hauptmann and presented with the Anti-Partisan award and the Civil Defense Badge.

[Official Dispatch of the Holy Republic of Abu Saedi]

May Princess Chu Yun find a wise and pious husband. I, the Grand Leader, Imam Yusuf bin Amar Abu Saedi, do offer the hand of Jehed bin Yusuf Abu Saed, third born son to my second wife into the bonds of marriage.

Jehed bin Yusuf is currently unmarried at the age of 23. He graduated at the head of his class at the Al Zouhayli Center for Islamic Studies. Jehed bin Yusuf served his nation for two years as an officer in the Abu Saedi Airforce. He is a pious follower of the faith.

The only condition of marriage is that the Princess Chu Yun would have to convert to the one true faith of Islam at which point she would be readily accepted by our people.

Sincerely,
His Supreme Holiness, Protector of Islam, Orator of the Faith, Slave of the One True God and Knowledgeable Scholar of the Qu'ran, Grand Leader of the Holy Republic of Abu Saedi, Imam Yusuf bin Amar Abu Saed.

"It was good of you to arrive so promptly, Mr Cheung" announced the figure shrouded in the shadows of the far side of the room.
Cheung Dai-Yu wasn't really sure how to respond; in truth he was still reeling from the shock of it all. A successful international businessman, in Tokyo for a few days to clinch a promising deal, he had not expected the sharp knock on his hotel suite door just before he was about to retire. He could still remember the terror stricken look on his assistant's face as the entrance hall began to fill with uniformed figures after the leading visitor had produced the little white security card. Secret Police...
Within minutes he was in the back of a blackened car racing through the luminous streets, sweaty fingers still clutching his Xiaguo passport; knowing neither where he was going or what fate awaited him with his only ray of hope the chance that his assistant might somehow reach the embassy in time.
After what seemed like hours, the vehicle had turned into an unremarkable compound and came to rest at the forbidding door to a bland modern building. Before he had time to prepare himself the door was thrust open and he had been swept out and into the cavernous mouth of the block.
His mind had by now almost lapsed into inner terror, and he had been barely aware of a succession of corridors lit by recessed lighting. At last he had been steered around a corner to a large hall with more corridors leading off to either side of a set of double doors. At this point most of his minders had abruptly disappeared, rapidly vanishing the way they had arrived. One of the remaining men, politely gestured to the opening set of doors, and as if in a trance he had stumbled forward through them.

He had found himself in another hall, but this one only appeared to have two exits, the one behind him and an identical portal at the far end. The chamber itself was poorly lit, with most of the room swathed in darkness. He had turned abruptly, sensing movement to his side, and felt an icy tide sweep over his skin...for a fragment of a moment he was sure he had glimpsed the tall form of woman, clad in white, gliding past a lit alcove.
Yet the voice that greeted him had come from ahead, and at any rate was clearly male.

He blinked into the gloom, slowly becoming aware of the short figure standing before him.
"Wh-why am I here?" He eventually managed to croak.
"Obviously in answer to an invitation Mr Cheung; I hope in time you will understand why it was felt necessary to dispense with certain formalities."
Cheung shivered, increasingly aware of the other man. Although all but invisible, and small in stature, the figure seemed to possess an intense that felt almost unnatural.
"Forgive me, but I do not even know to whom I am talking..."
"Quite so, I am sure Mr Cheung, but that too shall at length become clearer. Now, if you will kindly follow, there is something I wish you to see."
The shadowed man seemed to melt backwards into the gloom, and after a moment's hesitation Cheung followed. As he gingerly trod forward he had a brief sensation of a white shape on the edge of his vision, but when he turned to see he could make nothing out.
A patch of light cleared a circle in the shadows ahead, throwing a cris-cross of darkness and light across an object rising from the floor; his initial thought was that this was the mysterious host but has he approached he saw that it was a stature on a pedestal, whilst teh figure had soemhow taken up station in the shadows to its side without having once traversed the lighted area.
"Do you see?"
"I...I see a statue" he broke off blankly, not recognising the significance of any of this.
"It is a representation of En no Ozunu; En the Ascetic, an ancient holy man who founded the Shugendo faith..."
"Ah..." Cheung's fear was giving way to bafflement at this strange ritual; he ought to be angry, he thought, he should demand an end to this charade. After all as a citizen of Xiaguo he should not be held like this. Yet each time he tried to summon up his indignation he felt it mysteriously drain away.
"Mr Cheung, if it makes you feel more at ease you are here because you are a citizen of Xiaguo."
Cheung felt the sweat standing out on his forehead chill; his host seemed to have reached straight inside his head to pluck out his thoughts.
"The Chinese governments don't like the inhabitants of these islands much," continued the figure, "Sino in particular. I suppose that it understandable given the actions of the Yamato..." Cheung noted the use of the archaic term, Yamato, to refer to the Japanese, wondering what nationality the figure was. Up until now he had been sure they were Japanese government figures. "Still, it seems a pity that this conflict must be relived by generations with no experience of past troubles..."
"There seems to a mistake...I do not have any links with the government of xiaguo , let alone Sino."
"Yes of course, that was another point to recommend you. One needs to have a fresh perspective in this matter."
"This matter?"
"The matter between our countries Mr Cheung." So the figure was Japanese after all...
"Take this statue, it has an interesting history that is very dear to me, and those of my people. For many years it stood in a shrine on our homeland, revered by the my people. Yet in 1945 it was removed from its shrine and thrown into the sea- by occupation soldiers. My point is that all our people suffered in the last century, mine, yours, and the Yamato, yet my people seem to be the only ones willing to look to the future. Indeed we may even say that those occupation soldiers helped create the our national indentity, even as they descrated the shrine of the ascetic, and I for one would almost certainly not be standing here today had the statue not been removed, and later recovered by the woman...well I suppose you might call her my grandmother."
Cheung was throroughly confused. "I don't see how I can help change the attitudes of my people towards your people, whoever they are, or the Japanese or..."
"Oh but you can, Mr Cheung, and that is the mission I have in mind for you."
"Mission? I am a businessman..."
"And peace is good for business. Nothing happens by chance Mr Cheung, it happens because it is meant to be. Your being here in Tokyo tonight was not a coincidence; nor was mine, even though I dislike this place with its Yamato past and try to avoid it as much as possible."
"What would you have me do?"
"You say you have no contact with your government, but that is not strictly true. A successful man like yourself will have certain avenues open to him; avenues that make such a man attractive as an unofficial emissary."
"An...emissary?"
"Yes. It has come to our attention that a princess of Xiaguo is looking for a husband; to put it plainly we have selected you to present our candidate."
After the confusion and uncertainty of the past hour, the sudden revelation struck Cheung with a simultaneous desire to laugh and cry. In the end he did neither, replying in a voice calmer than he though possible "I can hardly represent those I do not know."
"You are merely carrying a simple message, one that will be more receptive coming from a native of Xiaguo; as to our identity, your first assumption was correct, and you are dealing with the government of this country."
Cheung recoiled slightly, realising that for the second time the unknown figure had read him perfectly. It was clearly no use arguing with people such as these, no matter what trouble he was getting himself into. "Very well, I shall take your message, though I cannot guarantee how it will be received."
"That is rightly not your concern. What does concern you is our sincere desire to improve relations with Xiaguo, and the equally serious offer of our Shogun."
"And that offer?"
"Why, to marry Princess Chu Yun of course."

OOC: here are some of the fairly well known facts about the shogun; hopefully the reputation of his family will not proceed him ;)

Name: Yamamura Izu-no-kami Takanori*
Age: Believed to be 18**
Birthplace: Unknown; rumours suggest the Tokyo region***
Ethnicity: Japanese sub-category variously described as 'Izu' or 'Ringish'
Occupation: Head of State, Chief of the Rinfu and lord of the Teike
Military Rank: Taishogun (Generalissimo)
Picture: no adult photograph is known to exist****

Notes:
* Izu-no-kami is an archaic style translatable as 'Governor of Izu Province'; historically the style -no-kami was also used as a title of favour appended to the names of prominent people from the said province
** There are several inconsistencies in records
*** The Yamamura family traditionally originate from Sashikiji on the island of Izu Oshima
**** Photographs of a young child variously described as 'Ando Takanori' or 'Sada no Takanori' have been linked by some authorities with the present shogun; however official records state that an Ando Takanori, identified as the son of Tokyo pathologist Ando Mitsuo, drowned in July 1989 aged three years. The body of the child was apparently never recovered.

Iuthia

With the an unerring accuracy, Mick Lakely, Iuthia’s foreign minister, blasted the shuttlecock down into the well-kept lawn beside the Lord Generals feet, making the man cringe as he lost another point to the younger man.

It was a nice afternoon in Iuthia Prima and so far the weather was holding out beautifully for the crowded city, as not a single cloud could be seen in the sky. The two good friends had been playing badminton for the majority of the afternoon and so far James deGritz had only half the score of Mick, who was doing as well as he ever did against James in this sport. The courts of James deGritz’s mansion were carefully looked after by the many caretakers of the grounds and it’s bounce was perfect for a number of sports… but James quite liked Badminton because many assumed it was a slow sport when in actual fact it would take a lot of energy out of him, especially as Mick belted the light shuttlecock with a nasty flick of the wrist.

Mick was a younger man then James, which occasionally proved to be something of an advantage to the man when competing against the Lord General in these games they played. However, his hair was greying like James’s hair once had, whose was now a sagely grey, though it had to be said that James had retained much of his good looks through exercise and keeping busy, even at fifty people could see why Liessa, his fiancée, was interested in him (besides his power).

James pulled Mick aside from the game for a rest, though Mick couldn’t resist a comment.

“I’ll take it easy on you next time old friend.” He commented with a sly smile. James laughed and shuck his head for a moment before moving on to business.

“I wouldn’t brag if I were you, your slowing down yourself, I’m catching up with you slowly.” Before Mick could retort, James came across a little more serious as he changed the subject. "So, I heard you wanted to speak to me about the latest development in Xiaguo. Normally we don't take an interest in these arranged marriage affairs..."

Mick sighed, sitting down on the bench while a servant brought a towel to each of the men. "Weell... concidering our lack of connections around that region we feel it would be useful to get a foot-hold in a area we normally have little contact with. Our friendship with _Tiawan is all very well but we don't get involved enough with them."

James frowned, thinking it over but clearly a little perplexed. "In that case wouldn't it just be better to improve relations with _Tiawan and become more involved?"

"Perhaps, but we would like to try offering one of our Generals to them to see what their reaction is... it would make for an interesting look into how monarchies work and may produce something of benifit to the Iuthian people."

"So who is the lucky man?" James asked.

"General Turgidson." Mick replied curtly.

"He agreed to that? I didn't think he would be the type..." James looked shocked.

"He liked the idea of a young princess at his side; he's a prime material and will give Xiaguo something to think about. Anyways, he not getting any younger."

"Well, I don't see why not... we're not getting allied or anything and General Turgidson is a strong-willed man, he knows what he's getting into. You're free to try."

Message:

Dear Emperor Jin,

We would like to display our interest in offering one of our senior Generals from the Iuthian Military for the hand of your daughter, Princess Chu Yun.

General "Buck" Turgidson, Iuthia's Minister of Defence and veteran general in the Iuthian military may not be a prince himself, nor is he related to Lord General deGritz, who has yet to be given a child from his fiancee, however he is a man of excellent stature in Iuthia and has a good military record.

We offer this man to you in the hope of bringing our two nations closer and improving our links in the far east where our connections have been some-what limited. We hope our reputation as a strong peaceful nation hasn't passed your region of the world as we feel we've done well in securing peace in our normal circles.

thanks,
