In the Rêchsprovinz (Imperial Province) of Plêßen (Polavakia), a nationalist by the name of Sergiusz Latkiewicz has been gaining support in both Plêßische Reichslander (Imperial States) of Granzk-Cyzïzn and Petinski-Jdazd.

His group, the Nacjonalistyczna Polawak Partia (Nationalist Polavak Party), has been documented so far as a far right-wing fringe political group with no true power in Polavak politics, however, as the new national "Attikisch" language becomes government standard, Serguisz has begun inspiring nationalism in his fellow Polavaks. They were noted for recently burning the Landpost in Jdazd (the regional post office).

In the Reichstag, the matter of Polavakian Independence is being debated fiercely.

Many arguements arise between members, debating whether or not to grant the Polavaks freedom.

Latkiewicz: "The time has come for the Polavak people to be granted independence. For over 100 years, we have been under Attican Imperial dominance. This is not fair. Even more recently, the government imposed "Dialektgesetze" (dialect laws) banning the use of Polavak! What right does the Kaiser have to impose his rule upon the Polavak people? What right!"

Güntoß: "This is outrageous. The "Polavak people" have no more of a right to their independence than the "Fraltians" in Fraltrêch (Fraltis, a French province also under Attican dominion), or the Zetroßens (Native Atticans of Zetross)! If we grant them independence, we are guaranteeing the collapse of the Empire! First, the Polavaks, then, the Fraltians, then, the West Rudavans, then, the Zetrossans, the Addisonians, the Breliners... the entire Empire will collapse. This is something we cannot afford, being surrounded by powerful neighbors such as Rudavrêch (FPC) and Kahtïn (Kahta)!"

Petinski: "Perhaps some kind of agreement can be worked out... full independence is not entirely necessary... Polavakia could remain a dominion of Attica, while retaining certain national rights..."


Latkiewicz: "We demand full rights... we will not be a dominion of no other nation!"

Then, the Kaiser walks in.

Kuklinski: "There will be no independence of the Polavaks. The Polavakians are members of the Empire, just like any others, and any Declaration that states otherwise will be considered treasonous, and will be treated as such. This session is adjurned."

Latkiewicz: "If that is your decision, Kaiser Kuklinski, than you may not like the consequences."

News Flash:

Günther: Hello, I am Hans Günther, and we have late breaking news from Plêßen. Now, to Luzï Sander.

Luzï: Thank you Hans. At 15:00 ANZ (Attikischnormalzeit, or Attican Standard Time), a series of apparently military-grade explosives went off thruout the Polavak city of Cyzïzn. Every building damaged or destroyed was a government building. It is currently believed that the "Nationalistplêßischpartê" is responsible for the act. Currently, over 400 are reported dead.

Günther: We have just received news from our correspondant in the Wehrstag... 4 Infantry divisions are being deployed to Polavakia in order to assess the situation and protect civilians in the area.
