TIMIOCATO (PPA) -- The Pacitalian Meterological Administration reports today that a tropical storm originally expected to burn itself off and stay away from the Pacitalian coastline has "changed its mind".

Tropical Storm Larissa is now a category-1 typhoon, growing in strength and size. Current winds are estimated at 129 km/h, but increasing by 1.1 km/h every hour. The superstorm is heading northeast at 13.5 km/h but gaining speed. Its current projected path has it colliding with the southwestern cities of Puntafora and Pegrolisia. The capital, Timiocato, is expected to get heavy rain and moderate winds from the taillash of this storm, if the typhoon follows that path. All cities from northwestern Anubisyrria (south of Pacitalia), north to Sambuca (Pacitalia's fourth-largest city), including outlying islands, have been advised to 'batten down the hatches' and prepare for Larissa when it makes landfall. It is guaranteed to hit anywhere in that area if it follows the path drawn by the PMA.

News crews are scrambling into the cities while an exodus of traffic from those settlements heads east for higher, drier ground. The 10 million Pacitalians living on the islands are sitting in 10+ sailing waits at PaciFerry terminals, trying to get to the mainland and escape for cover. It is almost definite the typhoon will hit the islands and that the islands will be worst off when all is said and done.

More as it develops. This is the 12th typhoon of the season, only one has reached landfall in Pacitalia this season.
