President Statton had to make a tough desicion. Should he go to war against the rouge state, and risk being insulted by socialists with large armies? Or should he not, and let the terrorist's win the fight? After a very long time of thinking it over with his advisors, the President finally decided that it was time to go to war. Sicily had slipped through his fingers too many times, and he wasn't about to let it happen again. So, he sent his official Decleration of War to King Ramon deSivanti, and sent orders for invasion.

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT REGARDING THREAT OF WAR/POSSIBLE INVASION:

Dear President Statton,
Your unverified threat of war is in violation of International Law. We will allow 48 hours to pull your Decleration of War, or face immediate and swift militiary action.

King Ramon’s letter was utterly and completly ignored by Statton. He knew that the king was the one in violation of International Law, deSivanti had obviously told the Sicilian Mafia to blow up the Merchant ship. In fact, the letter only made him hasten the militiary move, now called Operation Syracuse Advance. He ordered his first and second navy divisions to attack Sicily, with the first bombarding Syracuse and the second blockading Syracuse’s Harbor. One Wing was called up from an airbase in Ramissle, and it began its flight over to Sicily. The war had begun.

King Ramon was furious. He did, of course, order the attack on the merchant ship, but it was simply because of his lack of popularity with the Sicilian People. He was at 16% approval in the rating system. Many citizens were talking about seceding to Ramissle. Now, it looked like they would be part of Ramissle anyways. But he wasn't about to go without a fight.

IC: King Ramon sat with his advisors. Many of them suggested surrendering. He had them shot. The four that had suggested putting up a fight were the only ones left. General Maserati said that he should have all forces dig in, and prepare for trench battle. King Ramon decided on that idea, and had all 43,000 soldiers that could be found surround Syracuse.

General Preble was in charge of the naval battle. He was promoted from Admiral after his heroic stand in The Battle of Potomic River. Then, his idea was to hit the extremely huge Aust militiarys missle crusiers. Seeing that Sicily had a much smaller militiary, his idea was much simpler. Using civilion information and sattilite imagery, it was discovered that over 80% of the militirary was in a 7 mile radius around the deSivanti manor. A bombardemt seemed the best idea. So, Preble ordered the bombing of the palace.

The Airforce was in charge of the ships. Four F-20's were ordered to take out the Ticonderoga's. Two dropped there payload, and two Ticonderoga's were hit, one seriously damaged and the other completly disabled. The other two did not have such luck. AA fire hit one F-22, and killed the pilot, which then crashed in to a villa outside Syracuse, killing the 8 civilions inside. The other F-22's JDAM sensors went beserk, and the bomb struck a yahct in a harbor. Thankfully no one was aboard.

After three hours of bombardment, the deSivanti manor lay in ruins. 11,000 of the sicilian troops had died, and the remaining had surrendered. A total of 16 Civilions died in the hard fought fight, including seven that may have had connections with the deSivanti family. King Ramon was dead, along with his four remaining advisors.

Ramissle had lost 1 F-22, a Chinook, and a radar tower on a carrier. The family of the F-22 pilot was notified of his death, and was given a 18 acre plot on now Ramissilian Sicily.

Im confused. Is Sicily a NS nation, or are you refering to the RL Island?

Sicily is an RL island. When Ramissle was Bonesacke, it was a colony. However, the monarch did not like it. So they revolted, which eventually ended in a war with Aust, an NS nation. Bonesacke was utterly destroyed, and the survivors came to Ramissle. Then, this story comes out.
