Veritasean News Network Special Report:

A short blonde news anchor stands before the camera with the outline of Highland Castle, the residence of the Veritasean High Chancellor, in the background. She clears her throat and, as the red light on the camera, flicks on, begins speaking...

"Ladies and Gentlemen, in a completely unprecedented move the Senate just moments ago cast a vote of no confidence against High Chancellor Harris. Harris was popular amongst the Unum Veritas populous due to his isolationist stance, however the Senate resented his more liberal domestic policies. As a direct result of this vote, Harris has been removed from office despite winning the recent election. In his place the Senate has installed his opponent Sage Harding. Harding is an outspoken warhawk with extremely conservative domestic policies and a very aggressive foreign policy.

"Even as we speak Harris is being removed from Highland Castle and Harding is preparing to replace him. The Senate has called out the Imperial Marines to prevent rioting throughout the country and a nationwide curfew has been imposed until the transition of power is complete.

"Analysts expect Harding to make a far greater use of the military, particularly the Imperial Navy, and focus more on international issues.

"We'll have more news for you as it develops. I'm Susan Young, reporting for Veritasean News Network."

Unbeknownst to the various reporters and even the public, Harding had already begun to institute his new foreign policies. All Veritasean Naval assets had been ordered to form up in their divisions and enforce a 250 mile maritime exclusion zone around their formation. Further orders had not yet been given, but speculation as to what they would be had already begun.

Only a quarter mile from the 250 mile exclusion zone a small VBR-2 Shadow Hawk recon fighter flew in a low orbit range letting the sensors chart the naval actions. "Hmm thats out of place," the pilot said to the fighter's class B AI, "Alert comand of this change." "Already done." "Good now lets move alittle closer." At that point the fighter moved close enough so it was only a few hundred metters form the exclusion zone.

The Phalanix plane was just outside the exclusion zone surrounding the Seventh Veritasean Armada (the largest grouping of ships UV uses). An AEGIS destroyer on the outside of the formation picked up a fuzzy blur on its radar screen and called it into the group's commander. A few minutes later two of the F-32's on CAP (combat air patrol) reversed their direction to see what the disturbance was. Something that close to the exclusion zone tended to make naval officers somewhat nervous, particularly when they were already on edge after suddenly receiving the out of place orders.

OCC:Just letting you know it's a stealth recon fighter. Also it's jsut doing a random flight in international waters so no worries of an invasion.
IC: The fighter began to rise up automaticly as the ships drew closer to it. As it did the pilot flicked several switches and the internal atmosphere generator activated. It began moving slightly closer now only 100 meters from the no flyzone letting the computer tag everything for threat evaluation.

***In the imperial chamber***

"Thats an interesting turn for the better," Says Emporer Shaz Bot. "I never liked that Chancelor anyways. He always did completely stupid shit in my honest oppinion."

"Yeah, i didn't like him either," Says Chief Advisor Stockton. "The guy was an asshole, they should have decapitated him."

"Thats going a little to far isn't it?" Says Emporer Bot.

"HELL NO!" Stockton replies. "The guy publically called people 'dickheads' for no reason. He deserves to die!"

OOC: Yeah, I figured it was a stealth fighter, but AEGIS ships in the UV Navy go to full power when in an Armada because its too large a group to hide. An AEGIS' SPY radar is powerful enough to get at least a slight read on stealth planes, hence why I sent only two fighters to check it out and not several to attack it.

The two F-32's circled at the very edge of the exclusion zone, hoping to find something to relieve their boredom. After ten minutes of circling without getting a hit on either of their radars, they were forced to return over the formation to refuel.

OCC:Ok I was jsut checkin. Don't need any realy sad screwups
IC:

As the two fighters returned the Shadow Hawk returned to the lower orbit now officaly beging assigned to watch over the no fly zone for any new intrests. During that time the computer had already tagged several ships as a low threat.

The AA ships, along with the various smaller patrol vessels, continued to sweep the skies constantly for any aircraft seeking to violate the No Fly Zone. Usually this type of measure was only undertaken during time of war so all the Veritasean servicemen were a bit jumpy and triggerhappy.

News of the blur had spread somewhat throughout the Armada and a few of the more adventurous patrol boat captains steered their vessels for the area in question. A Sea Shadow patrol boat glided to the very edge of the exclusion zone and began sweeping the skies with its active radar, hoping to get a positive ID on something it could shoot down.
