After many tense years of waiting, the throne of Inshallah finally has an heir: Prince Idris ibn Nasir al-Dawla.
Born just hours ago in the medical facilities within the Royal Palace, Prince Idris weighs seven pounds, six ounces, and is nineteen inches in length. The Royal Family's medical team announced in a press conference that the Prince is "in perfectly good health, and he will grow up to be a strong young man and a strong Sultan, when his time comes."
The proud father, Sultan Nasir al-Dawla, joked with reporters that he was "glad to have this out of the way," since he is already 51 years old, and his wife 46. "I was worried we'd have to ask my relatives to please hurry up and have a son before I die." Indeed, the rules of succession are unclear when there is not a son born within the extended family.
Prince Idris is the newest addition to the 399-year long history of the Royal Family. Reporters learned that he will first be seen in public in a few months, though pictures may be released sooner.
