In the aftermath of the great imperial revolution Empress Constance has issued a new order in Aborior.

”Subjects the communist threat is real, it could be your friend your neighbor even a family member who is a dreaded communist, the communist nations of the world fear us! And rightfully so, with the signing of this declaration we increase military spending to 31% in the next few months I expect the royal legions of Aborior to reach the size of one million strong! We are developing new armor units and our air force is in full construction, our navy will rule the seas, people of Aborior we will earn our place in the sun”

Aborior has a population of roughly 290 million, my military is constructing roughly 800,000 ground troops 20 (200 tanks) armor divisions 6 battle ships 4 aircraft carriers) and about 120 jet planes. My military budget is around 31% of our income. Does this sound reasonable for a nation of my size?

The Chronosian Imperium wishes to dispatch diplomats to discuss the people of Aborior's views on Communism; given the now crushed Communism of Chronosian past.

The nation of Ranudon would like to open diplomatic talks between our countries. We too are somewhat worried about the threat of communism, yet we are also wary of sudden military build-ups. We feel that diplomatic overtures can benefit both our nations.

As Imperator, first among many of BOttaH, I, Meatloaf, am very concerned by your pedjudiced and frankly terrifying ant-communist attitude. What people would not like to control its own factories and industry? What people would not want to live in a classless society? I say: only capitalists and warmongers. I would like to know what you have against communism, and what your reasons for this hate are. We do not wish to wage war. We do however wish to defend our own nations borders. It was not to long ago that our nation was overtaken by communists. The doars of the great palace open and a young girl walks out escorted by twelve guards bearing the royal symbol of the eclipsed sun with the cross. Her walk almost has a glide in her step, she appears nervous her black hair hides part of her face, she takes the hand of the ambassador.

The government transport circled the airport one final time, before recieving clearance to land. Onboard was the Ranudon Ambassador Stephanie Garland. Her job was to begin diplomatic talks with the Empress in preparation for the future arrival of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Ms. Garland was a little nervous, this was the first time that she would be the head delegate, her recent promotion to full ambassador brought a smile to her face. Across from her, the leader of her three-man security detail went over a few final notes with her assistant. Apparently several communist nations had taken offense at the Empress' initial announcement. As a result, the security detail was going to be at a higher state of alert than normal. Hopefully, nothing would come of it, maybe the offended nations would be satified with shouting and lodging protests.

As the plane began it's final descent, she grinned. This was going to be exciting.

It is a place of great beauty; where the walls shimmer with gold and marble; with prayers to my father. Yet it is also a place of War; where I train my Space Marine brethern in the ways of conflict; in preperation for the coming days of Darkness. We have many enemies; and yet we command many worlds; in the Hydran Kingdom; the Hydran Sector. Perhaps one day, young queen, you shall see the glories of the Imperium"

Of course, our officers and higher ranked enlisted have much longer tours.

I do not have the authority to commit our nation to any defense pact. However, I do have authorization to plan out the details of one with you. Once the Foreign Minister arrives, he is the one who can make the final decision to sign.

Then let us sit down and discuss some details. Minister of Foreign Affairs Chambers will be embarking on a short tour of nations sometime this week. His yacht and escort will be arriving here within the next few weeks. I don't have his exact itinerary, but this is one of the first stops he plans on making.

OOC: That number for a military budget is insane. IRL North Korea has the highest military budget per GNP spending 22.9% on the military and it is one of the most finacially destitute nations on the face of the Earth in part because of it (the other part being general mismanagement and failed collectivization programs). Considering the 22.9% it is not suprising they also have per capita the largest military on Earth (which makes sense considering that the military are the only onces that have comparitively adequete living conditions.) For reference, the United States spends 3.3% (but it is a special case). If you want an example of a state with enemies on all sides, the state of Isreal spends 8.7% of its GNP on the military

The only reason it is so high i guess is that i checked on NSEeconomy and it said i spend 32% on military, i thought it was high myself

I'm afraid that we can only agree to assist in your defense if you are not the primary aggressor. If you declare war on another nation, unless there is a very good reason, we may not wish to involve ourselves. Of course, we are always willing to protect an ally from outside aggressors.

Sending too little will just waste the effort and equipment, whereas sending too much could leave the sender without enough to defend themelves at home. (ex. 1 squadron of fighters or a platoon of special forces may not make a difference in a large war, but a couple of naval battle groups or even an entire fleet or two could easily sway the outcome. On the other hand, making an ally strip their country to the bones to send aid is potentially even worse than sending too little.)

I think we can agree to that. Once the Minister of Foreign Affairs is able to look it over, I'm fairly confident he'll sign.
