SOLRF-1 "Longbow"
Motto of the Longbow: "Reach out and touch someone."
Primary function: Engage enemy land and sea targets as extreme ranges.
Manufacturer: SOGP Aerial Labs
Propulsion: Two SOGP-HF-9401 Fixed-Position Engines;
Thrust: SOGP-HF-9401: 55,400 pounds
Length: 49.4 feet
Wing span: 47.3 feet
Armament: Two SOGP-ELRML-23 "Trebuchet" Extreme Range Missile launchers (Four missiles in total)
Crew: 2 (Pilot and Gunner)
Mission: The mission of the SOLRF-1 is to attack and destroy surface targets at extreme ranges. The longbow is designed to fly to a distant point and launch missiles upon its targets.
Features: Aside from the dual Trebuchet missile launchers, the Longbow has a highly advanced sensor suite located under the rounded area of the rounded area on the top of the aircraft. The instruments contained here include highly advanced radar, communications equipment for coordinating attacks between other Longbows and spotters in the field,and a satellite uplink to gain the exact coordinates of its target by communicating with an orbital installation. The missiles themselves are a unique design. There is a large amount of explosives wrapped around the engine and fuel tank of the missile providing for more distance and damage. The warhead of the missile is made of a very strong combination of metals, capable of piercing concrete bunkers. There is a pressure switch located in the warhead that is triggered when the missile impacts and penetrates its target. The switch sets the explosives to go off a half-a-second after first impact, giving the missile time to bury itself deep in its target. When the missile detonates, it deals a great amount of internal damage, effectively gutting its target. Effective against ground installations, large vehicles and naval vessels.
