Asian Cooperation
North Yaman

As a note, I just wanted to mention that is involves the following members of the new RL roleplay...Quinntonia (USA), Quinntonian Dra-pol (Hamhung), Hudecia (Canada), Spyr (Lyong Peninsula), LRR (Russia), Marimaia (Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Eastern Myanmar), Union of Burma (rest of Myanmar), Dra-pol (N. Korea), North Yaman (Lyong Peninsula), Tord (Lyong Peninsula), Sangun (Vietnam), Beth Gellert (southern Indian Ocean, across from Madagascar, or perhaps Madagascar?), Xiaguo (Northern China, Mongolia, Xinjiang), Sino (Southern China), Chuang-Han, Taiwan, Bonstock (Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia), O & I (Japan), Wulaishen (Phillipines) and Kaendru (Nepal).
I would just like to know the different alliances of this Asian region, like the current members of the AA, the SSRC and such. This could also be used as a forum for discussing different economic and military alliances being proposed, like the discussed LRR/Spyr dealings...or new nations connections to neighbouring nations.
Shining Sphere of Revolutionary Co-Prosperity: Marimaia, Dra-pol, Spyr, North Yaman.
Lyong Treaty Alliance: Spyr, North Yaman, Tord (if he ends up participating in A Modern World...)

(Just a tag, for now, as I'm off in a second. I may return to post with Beth Gellert before very long. No alliances participated in, here. The Igovian Soviet Commonwealth tends to avoid binding treaties or association by anything other than direct one on one co-operation between peoples.)
Oshima and Izu

The Ringist Shogunate wishes to open a dialogue with the Lyong Treaty Powers, possibly with a view to ultimate membership (or associate membership, as appropriate). In this confused world of ours we also feel strongly that friendly neighbours must watch each other's backs...
As holder of the secretary-general seat of the Lyong Treaty Alliance, Spyr is most eager to see increased connections and cooperations with the Ringist shogunate as we share in a number of interests, and the possibility for mutual economic benefit.

Perhaps some sort of free trade zone in the Sea of Japan/Lyong area might be to the benefit of all concerned?
The other major concern of the Ringist Shogunate is defence, and we would be most interested in forging military links with the Lyong powers. To this end the government would be interested to know more about the structure of the Lyong Alliance and its aims, as our current information is rather limited...
Marimaia

Perhaps at some point the Ringists could hold discussions with the NeoSuunist regime in Marimaia.
There is great potential for trade (if O&I requires similar natural resources to RL Japan), and both nations could probably benefit from some form of military cooperation. While the two nations are fairly far apart, both have something to fear from the Four Chinas.

The Rinfu agrees with these sentiments, and would like to formally invite Marimaia to send a delegation to our nation to discuss matters further. (OOC: if other nations are interested in joining us we could even RP a proper summit meeting; O&I could easily host one at Hakone, or some such place)
Andaman and Nicobar

The (Freely) Incorporated States of Andaman and Nicobar (having noted no opposition to our claim and having historical (and hostile) links with Beth Gellert), is extremely keen to seek-out favourable contacts in the wider Asian region.
ISAN is populated by just 370,000 people and views itself as surrounded by probably hostile powers (Beth Gellert and Marimaia). Though extrmely rich for its size (with a GDP in the area of US$18.5bln), there are many resources to which the little island nation has no direct access, the defence forces are necessarily small (around 7,000 active members), and industry faces a number of unavoidable restrictions.
Liberation (the capital) hopes that its nation does have much to offer by virtue of low taxes, a well developed gambling industry (ranked about 104th or so in the world) and healthy hi-tech manufacturing industry, good availability of timber and natural rubber, and potentially a fairly strategic location in the Bay of Bengal.

Well, Marimaia is currently allied with Spyr and North Yaman; if we convinced Dra-pol to send a delegation, you could have a summit with the entire SSRC membership as well as the two main members of the Lyong Treaty (Spyr & NY being members of both).
[OOC: I'll try to post the full-text Lyong Treaty here, if I can find the bloody updated copy... in general, its military component has involved turning the peninsula into a single defensive entity wherein internal borders are left unfortified and integrated transport and defence networks allow deployment of signatory military resources in defence of the peninsula, under auspices of a central treaty command. Signatories are also expected to turn over all foreign intelligence gathered, for perusal by the treaty committees. It has no offensive stipulations or expansionist objectives.]

That would be most acceptable; given the current political climate ( a potentially hostile China group and Bonstockian occupation of the Sakishimas) the Rinfu is keen to associate the nation with this bloc.

North Yaman would be in favour of the combined SSRC and Lyong Treaty gathering at Oshima and Izu, if the Ringist Shogunate would so grace us with an invitation. This would then be most of the powers surrounding the Japan Sea and Marimaia, a strong southern ally of many of these powers.
With war coming more frequently to the region, and with the history of conflicts in the Japan Sea, it would be wise to speak on matters of cooperation and, possibly, mutual defence. With the super powers of LLR to the north, the Four Chinas to the south west, war in Kanendru and another rising asian conflict with Bonstock, it is a of great importance to realize the combined defensive power of the nations that share the Japan Sea.
-a communique from the Yanheshi-shange, Spearguard Command
In Mioka-ro, in preparation for any talks, the priests Shuri-lan Mora, Aluri Mikio and the venerable Otojiro Yakuta, all the eldest and most traditional of the High Council, occupy themselves with the last traditionalist Council member and leader of the Mai province, Tsutomu Mora. Oddly, this chosen group is the four least Strainist leaning members of the nine member High Council.

In which case a summit meeting will be scheduled for next week (OOC I'm away this weekend); the meeting shall be held in the town of Hakone and all members of the SSRC and Lyong Treaty shall be invited to attend.

OOC:South east Asia? Like EI, Wulashia...and Bonstock? Well, no matter how many nations are interested, I don't think that includes Lyong...
Deterring armed conflict through the use of arms? Sounds like American foreign policy to me...

There's little delay in expression of Beddgelen opposition to that idea, with Igovians pointing-out that the revolution can not be prevented by international treaty, especially where pre-revolutionary governments may be signatory or protected. Given that some regimes will simply not allow full revolutionary progress, it is evident that more conflict remains in Asia's future, and it is a matter of fact that such an organisation as the one propsed will ultimately fail. It is also very likely that its members will come into conflict with the Igovian Soviet Commonwealth, which may well fail to spare their counter-revolutionary systems when the smoke clears.

*cough*
Marimaia lies at the heart of SE Asia; if this is any form of anti-Marimaian united front, then the NeoSuunist Prosperity Sphere will have no other choice but to..well, we shall cross that bridge if we come to it.

Your allies would be behind you Marimaia...especially as few of the SSRC would be able to get into this South east Asia Treaty due to geographic reasons and the Quinntonian leanings of this proposed group.

Hi there, I'm Tord, the thus far quiet nation in the South of the Lyong Peninsula. I'd like to participate in this forum, I have some things to wrap up with my nation before I do much posting here, just wanting to put my foot in the door while I can.
thanks

It would appear that Bonstock has gone nuclear. If this is indeed true then all of Asia must cooperate together, and there is more urgency for a cooperative Japan Sea regional conference.
Is Oshima and Izu hosting, or would you prefer one of the other nations to?

Current Asian alliances/Treaties.
SSRC - Military alliance - Marimaia, Dra-pol, Spyr, North Yaman with ties to Beth Gellert and the Maoists in Kanendru. Supporting states include Malay and
Sujava.
Lyong Treaty - Joint defence, research, free trade - Spyr, NY and Tord
Azn(Or Asian) Alliance - not sure of the limits of this one - not sure of entire attendence, EI, Hudecia and Spyr are all currently members
Mutual Defence Agreement - LRR and Spyr
Alliance supporting the ROK - EI, LRR, Hudecia and Quinntonia
Proposed Mutual Defence Talks - NY, Spyr and Oshima and Izu
Singapore Accords - Military alliance/ common party - Marimaia and Malay
This is all I know up to now, though I'm sure China has some alliances. Also, looking for the membership of the AA.

Don't forget the Union of Burma as a supporting state for the SSRC. Burma will also be signing up to the Singapore Accords at some point, so you may want to add it now.

Scratch the "supporting states" bit. Perhaps they will join the SSRC in the future but right now they are in anarchy and political flux in the fall of the Bonstockian regime. There exists a loose alliance of nations securing former Bonstockian territories, and this includes Marimaia, Spyr, Hudecia, Quinntonia, Sino and LRR. I'm not sure, but EI may also be involved.
