Morik Nebula RP

The Morik Nebula is on one of the Solarais frontiers. It is a strange place, with most sensors, shields and weapons not working there. A year ago, we found the reason. A strange mineral named Fotj is found there. This mineral is extremely valuable, as it provides the power of a star per cm cubed. The power lies latent, disrupting many things, among them shields and weapons.

A small planet named Valmia lies in the nebula, where a group of enterprising humans have taken control. They have built a shipyard, where they build ships to traverse the nebula. Many pirates already inhabit the nebula, but more traders and entreupeneurs arrive every day. The danger is high, but the profit is tremendous.

There are missions to be performed, valuable minerals to be collected, and fortunes to be made.

OOC: Send a trader/pilot to the nebula, with no more than 1.5 million NSD (NationStates Dollars) Buy a ship from the range of 3 (more forthcoming), equip the ship, and go RP your fortunes. (I am RPing a group of pirates and the Valmians). Note that this is related to your nation, so if someone makes a massive fortune on the mineral, maybe your nation will utilitize it.
Also, the Valmians destroy fleets, as they threaten their position. Also, ships apart from the ones in the ship/item catalogue below will not have their energy weapon/shields function, making it useful to buy a ship from Valmia.

Sensors: Mulir Mk IV sensors, modified for nebula tracking/instant asteroid avoiding.

Description: The Vasudi can carry 50 000 metres cubed of cargo, and is easily equipped with mineral gathering equipment. It is the craft of choice among most freelancers, due to the fact it can carry such a large amount of valuable materials. It has no shielding devices, as they are hard to maintain with the Morik nebula's unique shield interference.

Sensors: Mulir Mk IV sensors, modified for nebula tracking/instant asteroid avoiding.

Description: The Mjolnir is the most even ship in the small array of ships built to traverse the Morik nebula. It carries decent weapons, and excellent armor. It can only carry 500 metres cubed of cargo, however, and is best used to excort other ships. This is the ship most used by pirates.

Hyaj Mk XIV gravimetric shield.

Engines: Bi-pod Groj engines, max speed 4/10 the speed of light. Warp speed 2.7x the speed of light. Accel 45% max speed/sec.

Sensors: Mulir Mk IV sensors, modified for nebula tracking/instant asteroid avoiding.

Description: The interceptor was built as an escort for the freighter, nothing more. It carries some small array of weapons, and a gravimetric shield. It could probably outmatch a Mjolnir in combat, given an experienced pilot.

Weapons:

Laeri Laser Cannon: This unique cannon is far weaker than a normal one, however, it seems unaffected by the energy interference in the Morik nebula. Cost: 55 000 NSD

Matter Destabilizer: The Matter Destabilizer is used to break away the useless parts of asteroids, leaving the valuable minerals easily collected. Cost: 125 000 NSD

Missile Bay: A standard missile bay, with a fueling device, propulsion, and tracking devices. Cost: 95 000 NSD

Mashk : A missile built for longe-range tracking, used to destroy pirate fighters and the like. Cost 3200 NSD

Marr : A missile built for shorter ranges, used mainly against larger ships. Cost 2500 NSD

Shields:

Gravimetric Shielding Device: This shielding device works simply. It gravitates larger objects away from the small object fitted with it, and repels them. It works against asteroids and missiles reasonably well, as long as they missiles aren't coming too fast.
Cost: Fighter: 220 000 NSD
Mjolnir: 952 000 NSD
Vasudi: 5.7 million NSD

Armor

Titanium Alloy: Titanium, the only metal that is used widely around the Morik area, is cheap and plentiful. It doesn't cost much to get a repair, and all ships come fitted with the right amount of armor for the area. However, alloy is cheaper for the Vasudi, as it cannot propel a vast weight of titanium as well as its own.

Titanium Plate: Standard for smaller ships, the titanium is cheap, and used all the time. Not much more to say.
